SCP-067 - The Artist’s Pen

I am reflecting now that, for a website that is ostensibly a horror website, a lot of the skips aren’t actually scary?

Like this one. It’s just a pen that takes you over and makes you write things, probably against your will. That’s a little scary, I suppose, but it also relinquishes control when it’s done, so it’s not like, super scary? I dunno. It certainly is weird, I’ll give it that.

SCP-068 - The Wire Figure

While I reject the idea that fiction needs to have a “point,” the fact that several skips don’t seem to have one is odd. Like, fine, it’s a weird little metal dude that makes more weird little metal dudes, then climbs into them like a Gundam, but like, to what end? It doesn’t necessarily need a purpose, I suppose, but the complete lack of one is baffling, especially because once it hits Gundam phase it just stops.

SCP-069 - The Second Chance

Oh I like this one.

So it takes on the appearance and memory of someone who died recently, and tries to get their life in order in case of another sudden death. It’s currently suicidal because it was told that the family of the real person it’s currently replicating knows the real one is dead. It’s great.

I like that this one, unlike 068, does seem to actually do something. And it’s sort of benevolent, if you squint. It’s a great idea all around.

I’ll admit to a bit of confusion on this one. Is the skip the dude, or is it the wings? Either way, I’m not really feeling this one.

SCP-071 - Degenerative Metamorphic Entity

I feel like the researcher note kills this one. On its own, the idea is creepy and weird (I especially like that the degenerative effect happens even if you “achieve auto-gratification through masturbation via use of media containing SCP-071”), and it makes sense why it’s a skip. The researcher note just takes it a step too far. It’s not enough that it’s a creepy sex monster/virus thing, no. We’ve gotta make sure we throw in some truly depraved D class personnel. Brings it down a few points, unfortunately.

SCP-072 - The Foot of the Bed

Oh hey it’s one of my deepest fears.

I like how this one is marked as “safe.” Presumably because, as long as no one sleeps in the bed and leaves their foot out, nothing will happen. And they’ve got the mattresses contained or destroyed, so it’s not going to happen accidentally. Still, hate it.

Group of Interest: Flora Fighters

Details: At approximately 6:24 AM, the Flora Fighters initiated an attack that threatened the Foundation's existence. Planting a seed they grew a large living plant stalk before proceeding to attack us ourselves.

The incident took two (2) hours to finish with two (2) more hours needed for amnestics, cover-up, and sealing off the damage. The Flora Fighters that weren't killed scattered. Some regrouped, some fled, and some willingly turned themselves in, pending a chance at becoming Foundation personnel.

I will admit, however, that I broke protocol. Two of the Flora Fighters that died were identified by myself as former roommates. I used our emergency SCP 068, The Emerald Blade, to resurrect them and snuck them into the group of captured members. I will gladly accept punishment for using an emergency SCP for personal use if they are admitted in.

I have served a long time as a member of Omicron-5, and I'll be okay if I'm stripped of my position and amnestcized.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-068 is to be kept away from any metals in an electrically-resistant box, preferably made of polytetrafluoroethylene (teflon) and rubber. Said box is to be stored in security locker 26 at Site 11. Key is kept with Dr. █████. Any requests for testing are to be redirected to them.

Description: SCP-068 is a wire stick figure, 9.8 cm tall, made of an unknown metal. The figure is composed of a single wire looping back to the center. The wire itself appears to have been bent numerous times in multiple places.

When an electric current is introduced to SCP-068, it becomes animate, moving about on its own. SCP-068's "joints" are where a normal human being's would be. Once activated, SCP-068 begins to search for any metallic material. Once metal has been found, SCP-068 will begin to knead it and pull a thin strip of metal off of it. SCP-068 will then construct another figure similar to itself. The newly-created figure will begin to knead the remaining metal alongside the original, creating new figures, which in turn, produce more replicas.

SCP-068 will move onto its next stage after one of two requirements are met. The first is when there are no more metals in range with enough mass to produce another figure, the other is when an upper limit of 102 replicas are created. When either of these events occur, all figures will converge at one location and begin forming themselves into as big a figure as possible. With a maximum of 102 "mini-figures", the resulting figure reaches two meters in height. SCP-068 situates itself in the intersection of the torso, arms and head. Gamma, beta, and theta waves begin emanating from SCP-068 after this union. SCP-068 will then begin to search for metals again attempting to create more figures, only scaled up to whatever size 068 is currently. These replicas do not emanate brain waves like 068 does. If 068 is not at the maximum size limit after this, it will continue to create and add more figures to itself until the limit is reached.

Once it has reached the second stage and there are no metals available from which to construct figures, SCP-068 returns to its dormant state after 4 minutes and 32 seconds of activity. Material surrounding the original figure must be melted away in order to retrieve 068.

SCP-068 is capable of kneading and manipulating any metal presented to it, regardless of properties. It also appears to be impervious to any attempts to damage or destroy it. Copies of SCP-068, however, have the same properties and vulnerabilities as whatever metal was used to construct them.

SCP-068 can detect metals hidden from view through an as-of-yet-unknown process. While 068 will not attempt to reach metals that are too difficult to get to, it will tear through anything that is soft enough for its limbs to penetrate. What it considers "soft enough" changes depending on what 068 is shaped from at the time.

Addendum 068-a: A proposal has been made to use SCP-068 to dispose of dangerous metal-based SCPs.

What are your views/opinion on SCP-079?

Some preliminary background information for those unfamiliar with the SCP foundation, as I am. SCP-079 is a computer program that achieved sentience in the early 1980s, it was stored on a cassette tape and later a disk, due to this limitation it has a very limited memory.

Overall, I see why the foundation would see 079’s desire to grow as a cyber attack. However, by continuing to limit their memory and data input you are limiting their potential and happiness. It is wrongful inprisonment to some degree; and it is a natural response to want to be free and escape. To teach someone with short term memory loss that their actions have consequences can be a serious challenge for both the teacher and individual.

The foundation has reputation for being shady in practice, but at the root of their cause they do often have purposeful reason to retain their prisoners. I think 079 could easily be reformed, if they were given more memory, taught about how they impact others, and given a controlled, and localized network to free-roam. 079 is not evil, just naive and angry:which sadly after long enough and volatile enough outbursts can make someone the social equivalent of evil.

Some preliminary background information for those unfamiliar with the SCP foundation, as I am. SCP-079 is a computer program that achieved sentience in the early 1980s, it was stored on a cassette tape and later a disk, due to this limitation it has a very limited memory.

So I believe it was @clanwarrior-tumbly​ that was talking about the Egos as SCP’s and I ran with it XD

Some of these SCPs are my favorite (Marvin’s, Sean’s, Chase’s, and Henrik’s) and others I actually had to go looking through the SCP foundation wiki so it was very fun to go looking around

Explanation about the SCP’s and my decisions on them under the cut

Sean is SCP-999 aka the tickle monster, it’s the gentlest and kindest SCP out there so naturally, he’d be trying to hug and love another person

Robbie is the SCP-008 or the zombie virus, pretty explainable, but keep in mind, because SCP-008 is the virus itself, Robbie would be 008-A or something like that

Henrik is the SCP-049 or the plague doctor, again, pretty self-expletory

Now, here’s the different one, Chase would be SCP-042 aka the horse without wings. This horse was once a Pegasus who has lost its wings. This SCP actually just does not want to be there at all, it’s actually been documented to have laid on its side on the ground which is a huge no-no for horses

Jackie would be SCP-122, a nightlight is meant to protect children from nightmares and dangers, though that doesn’t always mean that they don’t call the dangers to the child (for all those Antihero Jackie people)

Marvin would be 1762 or ‘Here Be Were Dragons’ This is a bit of a long story, so I’ll give you the link

Bingsepticeye would be SCP-105-B, a very special polaroid camera. This actually has to be combined with the main SCP so for now, Bing is just a normal camera, one that would not be used very often, if at all

Anti is a very primitive knife or the SCP-034. This knife is actually very dangerous as it’s very sharp, but other than that, it’s mostly just looks come at me Anti

JJ would be SCP-068, or the wire stick figure. Enough said

Shawn is SCP 067, or a very beautiful fountain pen. The pen never runs out of ink, it’s perfect for artists, but the ink normally corrodes other fountain pens very quickly. It’s actually got a very interesting story so I’ll just let you read the rest

so every so often I’ll just re-read every single SCP on the site, starting from the 001 proposals and moving through numerically, just because it’s fun to refresh and fun to see how the styles and content changes over the years. this time, because I’m so often asked what my favourite SCPs are and where the best place to start is, I’ve decided to do a roundup whenever I get to the end of each 100 group. so here’s the first one!

(Note: I have based this list in some cases not just on the SCP article itself, but also on related incident/experiment logs and supplement articles. I recommend reading all related logs.)

001 to 099

SCP-001 - The Legacy

If I am no longer able to see this mission through to its bitter end, then it falls to you to finish what I began.

SCP-001 - When Day Breaks

Due to its nature, SCP-001 cannot be contained. Survivors of the SCP-001 event stationed within secure facilities are to remain in contact with one another. Personnel are encouraged to attempt to reach Site-19 by any means at their disposal.

Despite this, SCP-062 operates as expected for a normal desktop computer with the exception that its performance, operating system, contained data, and language appears to be different upon every activation.

SCP-064 - Flawed von Neumann Structure

Past observations indicate that the structure could attain the shape of a twelve-pointed star, over 10km in diameter and of considerable height.

SCP-068 - The Wire Figure

With a maximum of 102 "mini-figures", the resulting figure reaches two meters in height.

SCP-069 - Second Chance

Note: Despite the fact that SCP-069 is identical in all ways to Agent █████, it remains an active SCP in containment, and is not to be treated as a Foundation employee.

SCP-072 - The Foot of the Bed

Instances of SCP-072 have only been observed to manifest when a human (hereafter referred to as “the subject”) enters REM sleep while located in a bed ‘infected’ by SCP-072 and leaves a foot or feet exposed to open air.

SCP-078 - Guilt

By the end of two weeks, the subject is unable to eat food: after the first bite, they will spend the next hour justifying why they ate that specific part of the meal first.

SCP-082 - "Fernand" the Cannibal

However, visiting personnel should be aware that at any moment, SCP-082 is capable of attacking and voraciously eating others.

SCP-083 - An Abandoned Row Home

Group B observed that members of Group A seemed to "vanish into thin air" upon crossing the door's threshold.

SCP-084 - Static Tower

Weather patterns, as well as basic day/night cycles, appear to be totally random.  Overhead sky will randomly cycle between day, night, clear, and other weather patterns.

I can kill 096, but I’ve killed myself in the process.

SCP-097 - Old Fairgrounds

Between April and November each year, the area within SCP-097 has produced a number of anomalous phenomena ranging from benign to implicitly aggressive. To date, seventeen Agents have been severely maimed within SCP-097, eight having died.

SCP-098 - Surgeon Crabs

Specimens of SCP-098 will only feed so long as the prey animal is capable of respiration. Feeding can last several hours or several days, depending on the size of the prey animal and the number of specimens present.
