My favorite thing ever?
Nico has a service dog
Because after Mr. D diagnoses him with PTSD he feels kind of hopeless and overwhelmed (especially after her hears that it can’t be easily fixed with magic or anything)
So Mr D. Suggests that he get a service animal.
Nico argues that animals hate him because he ‘smells like death’. Mr. D Points out that Mrs O’Leary doesn’t hate him.
They both go talk to Hades who jumps at the excuse to win back his son by buying him more stuff.
The dog ends up being a hellhound mix (don’t ask how.)
The mix is mostly so she is a bit smaller for convenience (so she can fit in places.)
I'd assume she looks something like a Burmese mountain dog mix.
Her names Penelope (Penny) and Nico loves her.
Nico and Her spend a couple of months doing service dog training with Artemis and the hunters (dogs are one of her patron animals.)
the time he spends with them also gives him a bit of closure and helps him process what happened to his sister.
soon enough she's graduated their honorary service dog school and is fully trained.
She goes with Nico everywhere. Since she is half hellhound she can assist with shadow travel and make it easier for Nico. (To Wills relief)
She helps Nico with panic attacks and nightmares.
She grabs things for him (KitKats, sword, water, pillows.)
she can even open the fridge in the big house.
If Nico is having a really bad episode or a flashback he can’t come out of or if he’s in any physical danger, she knows to go get Will Chiron or MR D. In a heartbeat.
Again a shadow traveling dog being useful.
Will makes extra sure that everyone at camp is aware of how service animals work.
He teaches all the campers about what Penny's job is and why they’re not allowed to distract her.
On occasion when she isn't working she'll play fetch or get pets from some of the kids.
All Nicos freind's and family love her.
Like everyone wants to be a part of this dogs life, Nico has literally never been more popular.
Hazel buys her a sweater for the holidays.
Rachel helps Nico also dye part of her tail at one point (to keep her identifiable) and they give it a cool design.
Annabeth asks if she can make her a cool dog house.
Piper insists that they take her to the groomer and buys her little bandannas.
Percy helps Nico teach her how to swim.
She will also grabs medical supplies for Will sometimes.
Grover also knows how to talk to her and regularly lets her know how Nico is doing (not that she doesn't already know.)
Nico finds it easier to eat with Penelope.
It kind of forces him to eat on a schedule, since Penny has to be fed three times a day and the two of them can eat at the same time.
Nico also gives her little scraps off his plate sometimes which makes them both happy.
She gets absolutely spoiled.
At one point Nico gets worried that she might get hurt fighting a monster. Hades assured him she won’t but Leo makes her some extra cool dog armor just in case
She also has a little bag attached to her vest for carrying supplies on quests and long journeys. (list of things these bags might contain: Ambrosia, Dog treats, Water/kitkats, extra weapons, drachmas.)
Nico connects so well with this fucking dog.
Like he always struggled with people and he never really even considered being an animal person.
But he absolutely adores Penny.
He talks to her about things that worry him and just finds her presence so unbelievably comforting.
Will solace (who I think personally would become a vet sooner than a doctor) Has this dog on the best fucking diet you could imagine
you have never seen a more medically healthy dog.
And she ADORES Will
Partially because of how calmer Nico is with him, and partially because he keeps a treat jar in the infirmary now.
The best part! she cannot die (from old age at least) Immortal service dog!
Having a huge fluffy head is great for pressure therapy.
Nico (neurodivergent) likes the texture of her fur and stims by petting her or playing with her ears.

Why hello there.
Listen,I don’t have much to say about the newest LO episode so here’s an ares ranking to go along with the other ones.
Spoilers.
Tumblr media
Percy Jackson:
6/10
Look,Ares is a really weird figure when it comes to how the media presents him.
Almost always they present him as this sexist frat boy when in mythology he is:
A reported protector of mistreated woman.
The patron god of the amazons and was worshipped to the point that their leader had 2 babies with him.
Scored the GODDESS PF LOVE AND BEAUTY and there is no way you cannot convince me she doesn’t have some pretty high standards(even though apparently you can convince most of the writers on this list)
And as much as I love Percy Jackson,it is not devoid of crimes.
In the first book,he helps Luke/Kronos steal Zeus’ master bolt and Hades’ helm of invisibility as to start a civil war within the gods.id say this is a pretty good portrayal overall.
…until we get to the second book.
This myth will be very important so long story short:a daughter of ares got r*** by a son of Poseidon so Ares, like any reasonable and bloodthirsty god of war, fucking killed him.
After this,he got put on trial for murder as if he wasn’t the literal god of bloody war,and all the ladies vouched for him so he got set free.
Let’s just say,Rick Riordan didn’t know of this myth.
In the second book, there’s a scene where Clarisse La Rue,a DAUGHTER of ares talks to him through a magic mirror.
There,he threatens her and says he should have sent one of his sons on the quest.and keep in mind she is his FAVORITE DAUGHTER.
So yeah.
I don’t really like this portrayal but he gets points for bringing Clarisse and (technically)Frank into this world since I like them both.also the fact that Percy could tell he had beef with him even without having any other memory.
Tumblr media
Lore Olympus:
1/10
FUCK THIS GUY
Remember when I said that modern Ares was more often than not a sexist frat boy?we’ll add “predator” and “Reddit nice guy” to that list because RS can’t write.
If in Percy Jackson Aphrodite had terrible standards here said standards are so much worse.
He spends MONTHS trying to seduce a 19-YEAR-OLD and then tries to marry her without her consent.
Also, sir,YOU HAVE THE GODDESS OF LOVE AND BEAUTY FULLY AT YOUR DISPOSAL AND YOURE PICKING A GURL WHO DOESNT EVEN KNOW HIW TO USE A COMPUTER????
Great.this guy is a predator,Reddit nice guy,AND stupid.
I remember saying that the only character who could get a lowers rating than LO Persephone being LO hades and then I remembered this fuck existed.
Fuck him.
Tumblr media
Hades:
10/10
Your know when you see something and then immediately want to wash your eyes with soap?this is my soap.
He is my third favorite Olympian in the game, coming third to Hermes and Artemis.
So here’s a few reasons why I like him:
Doom anything with impending doom and the increasing doom damage boon does absurd amounts of damage.
Curse of nausea is one of the best duos in the game.
He respects woman.(oh look they finally Aphrodite standards)
His quest is stupidly easy and he was the first Olympian who’s bond I maxed out.
I know this joke has been made so many times but.he really is a Chthonic simp.
He doesn’t get too pissed if you don’t pick him is trial of gods.hes just here for the bloodshed.
It may be just the fact that almost every other interpretation of ares is bad,but I really like him.
Also Aphrodite wearing his face paint in hades 2-
Tumblr media
OSP:
7/10
He’s cool.
I really don’t have much else to add except the helmet stays on during sex.
Tumblr media
Gods school:
5/10
Welp Back to the incels-
Him straight up telling Aphrodite that he can do whatever he wants because she won’t leave is just.why.
I don’t get why people go to this myth, turn it around, and act as if they’ve done a service by making Ares miserable when in the myths it was already a good ending.
What is with the obsession with making ares a toxic ex boyfriend when in the myths him and ‘dite were literally love and war.
Another issue I have with gods school is the fact they made Aphrodite a Karen Smith when in the myths shes a Regina George but that’s a problem for the Aphrodite ranking.
Also I just realized the Aphrodite Hephaestus ares myth is the og “I fell in love with a bad boy story”-
Epic:the musical:
8/10
I don’t have a physical picture of him but I already like him.
The only time he he appears is during a bit of an unfinished song but he does bring up some pretty good points, like the Scylla thing.
Also the fact Athena didn’t directly refute any of his points but instead persuaded him with the fact that the moment Ody gets home the suitors are going to be fucked is surprisingly great.
Also can I just say how absolutely hyped I am for god games?Aphrodite’s part fucking rocks and I’m excited for Apollo and Hephaestus.
Also here’s my ranking for epic Hermes since I wasn’t part of the fandom back then:
10/10
*insert dolphin laugh here*

I love how soft your writing is! Reading one of your stories is like curling up in a blanket :3 I don’t know much about Percy Jackson but I have writing prompt/one shot idea if you’re up to it!
Percy ends up coming down with like the flu or something and Triton, who’s unfamiliar with human sicknesses, ends up freaking out thinking it’s something serious. He has the overwhelming urge to take care of his sick brother, and goes into super soft and gentle big brother mode and ends up nomming him and fussing over his well being. Meanwhile Percy is like “dude I’m not dying I promise” XD
AHHHH Thank you so much!??? ANd ABSOLUTELY I am always up for prompts-
And yesses this is the easiest because Triton A. doesn’t go on land very often meaning the last time her heard of the flu it was genuinely a huge ass threat, it doesn’t help that Percy can be a big baby about being sick-
I just love the sea fam all adoring Percy like it’s legit an addiction at this point))
Percy groans laying on a bench, sniffling in misery. He hated getting sick, water didn’t technically take it all away even if it did make him feel a little better. Having said that this headache was absolutely killing him. “I’m dying” he whines, scowling when Annabeth laughs lightly, sitting by a tree working on some architect designs. “I told you to go lay in your cabin seaweed brain.” She teases Percy squeezing his eyes shut trying to ignore the scratches of pencil on paper.
“Ugh but that means leaving you alone.” He grumbles, coughing heavily causing him to groan again. “I need like- like mom’s cookies and some orange juice.” he cracks his eyes open to look at his girlfriend, huffing when she hums not even looking up from her drawing pad. “Do you even care that I’m dying?”
“You’re WHAT!? Why haven’t you been taking to your healers? Perseus! We talked about caring for yourself!”
Percy yelps falling off the bench groaning when he hits the ground. “Oh-ah..hey Triton?” He says clearing his throat before practically hacking up a lung. He winces knowing that he wasn’t exactly going to be let out of his brother's sight for a decent time. “Don’t you ‘Hey Triton’ me! You are dying and you’re- UGH You’re infuriating!” Percy isn’t too surprised to feel hands sitting him up, humming at the chill from the god’s hands. He forgot how cold Triton was and it was blissful.
“I told him to go to the med bay.” Annabeth pipes up, finally looking up from her sketch pad. There was a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. Oh. Oh, she had totally planned this hadn’t, see? Staying quiet to keep him complaining- “You’re despicable wise girl.” He hisses out.
Triton made a noise that Percy knew meant he was about to be totted around like a helpless toddler. “Wait! Wait, I’m not dying I’m actually fine- haha right? Just a little cold right Annabeth?” he hisses out looking pointedly at his girlfriend. He can’t help but relax more as Triton tucks him more against his body, the coolness of the god nearly making him melt. Deep sea coldness was bliss when you were sick, who knew?
“I don’t know Lord Triton, you heard him, he’s dying.” Annabeth says sweetly, glancing at Percy with a smirk. He groans knowing fully that he is going to be smothered for the next few hours. Triton makes that weird, strangling noise again, causing him to roll his eyes as he was picked up like a tired toddler. It was slightly nice, not that he would ever admit it.
“Not dying!”
“You’re practically burning up! Why haven’t you- brother we spoke about this." Triton groans, holding Percy close to his chest. Percy letting out a low breath as his brother started walking towards the water. “Get better soon Percy.” Annabeth calls cheerfully.
Jerk. He’d get his revenge.
“The water isn’t gonna help I already tried that.” Percy grumbles closing his eyes as he leans more against his brother. The coolness was combating the fever he had been sporting for a few hours now. He swore it even was making his headache ease up. His nose wrinkles up when Triton stops suddenly causing him to let out a small whine. It was embarrassing being so- well childish near the god, but Triton never seemed to mind. The god let an apologetic murmur out, a hand running through his hair lightly tugging out any tangles.
“Of course you have... What ails you little brother?”
“Just the flu”
Percy yelps when he's suddenly set down, his brother putting his hands on both his cheeks and staring at him intently with horror. “You hAVE WHAT!? Pereus! This is serious! Why haven’t you been in bed or resting- brother why haven’t you come to the palace for our healers!”
Well..that was new. Percy hadn’t expected Triton to be this worried. “Woah, woah hey! It’s alright I promise I’ve had it before.” He says patting his brother’s hands, holding in a round of coughing. He had a feeling that wouldn’t help his case. “That brings me no comfort little brother. This Influenza is a dangerous matter, I have seen its effects.” Triton’s tone was seriously starting to freak him out. This was as bad as the time he got back from Tartarus. He swore Poseidon hadn’t technically left him alone for a hot second.
“It’s different now, it's like- ah more inconvenience than anything I promise.” Percy offers his half-brother a reassuring smile, grabbing the God’s hands and taking them from his cheeks. Yeah, no that felt worse- he quickly put his brothers' hands back on his face humming at gentle coolness. “How it is simply an inconvenience if you are positively burning up.” Triton fusses, once again scooping him up into his arms. At this point he was too tired to care and honestly it was nice having someone other than his mother to soothe him. “Don’t take me to dad please I just... I feel like I'd be better up here.” He grumbles instead closing his eyes,
Triton sighed heavily and they were moving again. The blissful coolness of his brother’s body soothing his fever. He hums quietly pressing closer against his brother, tucking his head in the crook of the god’s neck.
“You truly have no concept of calling for aid, do you?”
“It’s just a cold.”
“And last time it was just a few monsters, or just a nightmare, it’s always just something Perseus.” Triton looks down at him with concern, Percy grimacing and ducking his face further into the crook of his brother’s neck. It was different with his mom; he didn't lie to her per say but..he left a few details out. She wouldn’t understand. Not truly.
“Because it’s nothing, I can get through it I always do.” He mumbles, relaxing once Triton steps into the cabin. The sea salt air washing over him in a soothing matter. The fountain in the middle expands drastically until it’s more of a small swimming pool. Triton steps in, his arms still wrapping around his body protectively.
 “You aren’t anymore.”
That stung. He stays quiet until he dissolves into a wave of coughing, pushing back slightly from Triton, wheezing as he tried to get some air into his lung after the fit. Hands press into his back rubbing soothing circles, his brother murmuring something in Atlantean. “Let us take care of you now that we’re allowed little brother.” Percy bites his lip, trying to sink lower into the water to avoid any eye contact with the God. Allowed too was a funny thought. They hadn’t been allowed too, not at first. Less for Amphitrite and Triton but they hadn’t been his biggest fans until his little trip to Atlantis. Something about him screaming in his sleep and wailing.
Embarrassing stuff to sum up. Things he had tried so hard to hide from everyone else but for some reason stubbornly came to the surface when at Atlantis. He winces when Triton tilts his chin up forcing him to look into the God’s eyes. He always felt so small in any of the sea family’s presence...didn’t help that half the time they were physically larger.
“I’m fine Triton, I promise.” He ignores how his voice cracks. Relief floods his system when the god lets an annoyed sigh out before guiding him closer, the water cooling down as he did so. It had no right to feel as good as it did. Percy practically collapsed against his half-brother struggling to keep his eyes open. A hand starts carding through his hair, brushing strands away from his face. “Little brother...you look nowhere near ‘fine’ right now..please cease your stubbornness for even just a minute.”
He would've stuck his tongue out in protest but being in cool water combined was making him sleepy, not only that he was sure Triton was going to make sure that he stayed laying down. Instead, he stubbornly stayed quiet, keeping his eyes closed as he focused on the blissful chill the water and his brother brought.
“You’re merely a child...so rest. You’ve done so much for the world, allow yourself to rest little brother.”
Percy decided to not comment on the fact he was being shifted in a very suspicious manner that most likely meant that Triton was getting to his godly height. He whines when the support shifts from leaning a glint his brother's body to just what he was guessing was his brother’s hand. Ugh that totally meant he was getting one ticket to tummy town then.
Triton apparently took this as compliance because the next thing he knew he was being lifted up into the air, water trickling down into the fountain turned pool. He lets a tired breath out letting his body be guided, his feet pressing into a chill that started to envelope his body. He cracks his eyes open, huffing as he his legs slowly
passed between his brother’s teeth. They were less shark like than usual which was odd..ugh he’d ask later his vision was blurring just from thinking now. Lazily he sticks his arms up as Triton swallows firmly his legs being drawn into his throat. A small whine draws from him, Percy a tad surprised to get a croon back. The vibrations tickled him as the noise washed over his senses.
He closes his eyes against mischievously patting triton’s upper lip, smiling victoriously as he feels it twitch upwards. Ha! At least he wouldn’t have to deal with serious Triton after this whole thing. He lets a breath out mentally preparing himself as Triton swallowed again, the sound rolling over him as he’s sucked inside his brother’s mouth. He knew if he opened his eyes a soft glow would great him but..he couldn’t stand the idea of opening his eyes now.
Maybe it would be nice to just..rest. The muscles roll over him invitingly pulling his body further down. The rhythmic pulling further relaxed his body. When was the last time this week he had actually gotten rest? If he wasn’t currently being supported by the surrounding environment, he was sure his head would roll to the side. His feet hit open air, and soon he plops inside the larger chamber. A small breath escapes him as his lungs are free from the firm pressure of muscle. It was still gross he decided but...the chill and rippling of plush stomach walls was oddly inviting.
“Rest little brother, there is no reason for you to not. Your friends and betrothed are safe...there are no fights to be won, just rest.”
Triton’s voice is soothing like waves on the shore. The image of water gently rolling across the sandy beaches helpfully dancing in his mind. It wasn’t like Triton was wrong either, everyone was at their camps safe..there wasn’t a battle to prepare for it was just...Quiet.
“She’s, my girlfriend.” He mumbles in protest, scowling when a chuckle slides him around gently in a swaying motion. They had the argument multiple times, and he could practically see the fond smile on Triton’s face.
“Yes yes, your girlfriend.” His brother appeases him. Percy snorting and leaning against the welcome touch of his brother’s hand through layers of muscle. The familiar circular motion making him hum, trying not to fall asleep right there and then. Things started to blur together, more so when Triton, the bastard, started humming an old Atlantean lullaby that seemed vaguely familiar.
Oh well sleep would be good for being sick...

Hello!!
I’m just looking for a fluffy childhood friends to lovers fic. Doesn’t have to be long, and you can (ofc) take as much time as you need!!
Happy writing!!
((PS: Im sad I haven’t discovered your blog earlier- I LOVE your writing so much!))
Her feet are starting to hurt, but she pushes herself to keep going. Hope is dwindling with every tick of the clock though and there isn’t much time left until she’s going to have to face this.
One more, she tells herself, one more and maybe he’ll be here by the time I get back.
So she starts her eleventh lap around his block, heart breaking with every step as the empty driveway disappears behind her.
There was a time where he would be the one to knock on her door, her heart racing from her mad dash down the stairs, to him.
But now each step feels heavier, her heart pounding with the ache of cracking.
What had she been hoping for all these years? What had she been dreaming off when they walked into their high school reunion arm and arm?
The kiss from the homecoming dance she never got? The slow dancing in the gym with their bodies up against each other?
There was a time when she hadn’t dared to dream of such things.
“Percy! This is a horrible idea!”
“Who cares? Come on, don’t you want to see the view?”
She must still look unconvinced because he reaches out his hand and pulls her along.
“Come on Annabeth, I promise it’ll be fun.”
Those wide green eyes are pleading at her, and she’s never really been able to deny him after that. Her sigh is his signal, and the grin is back as he’s pulling her along.
There’s a metal fire-escape looking ladder that he pulls all the way down and takes a tentative step.
“Ready?”
She’s not but she follows anyway until they make it to the small roof.
They sit side by side, his arms brushing against hers as they look out over the street. They aren’t that high up and there’s not that much to see but his warmth feels good against the cool breeze.
“Can’t believe we ditched homecoming for this,” she complains anyway.
“We were there for a little bit so it’s not ditching, it’s leaving early,” he responds with a wink that makes her heart flutter.
“Plus,” he adds, “you can’t deny this is way more fun.”
His smile is bright, lips close enough that she could lean forward just a little bit and kiss them.
She doesn’t though. She doesn’t deny his claim either or tell him that everything is always fun when she’s with him.
Maybe she should have. Should have just swallowed her fear and confessed that their friendship had always meant more to her.
But they were Percy and Annabeth. Best friends, partners in crime, and the gossip of everyone in school because they must be together right?
Yet Percy had never acknowledged the potential that everyone else saw, always laughing it off as a joke.
So who was she to tell him that she saw it too? That they were too good with each other, that they were meant to be something greater than this.
She knows she was right because she got a glimpse of it once.
And it ruined her heart in a way that’s made her screwed up enough to walk this eleventh lap.
“So you’re finally leaving, huh?”
“Wow, finally? Don’t sound too sad about it,” she replies with a glare. It’s already upsetting that they’re going to different colleges and that she won’t be seeing him, but he’s starting to annoy her now.
Is she the only one who’s going to be missing him?
Percy grins despite her glare. “I mean took you long enough.”
“Hey!”
He laughs as she swats his arm in incredulous anger.
“Annabeth,” he complains when she swats him again. “Okay, okay, I’m sorry.”
But she goes for a third swat only for him to catch her hand before she can complete the action. And despite her frown he pulls her closer to him.
His green eyes are wide and sincere and oh lord she’s jumping into them.
KEEP READING ON AO3
A/N: Thank you so much for the prompt! I appreciate the support! And so glad to hear you like my writing! Thank you again and I hope you like how this turned out!

Demons and Demigods Part Four: Written Scene #2: Cousins
Again, please excuse the tense inconsistency 😅
Percy pops his head over the side of the Argo II looking for Annabeth and, upon seeing two massive, muscled dudes standing with her, launches himself over the railing and lunges for Dean, knocking him to the ground and holding Riptide to his throat. Percy snarls and glares down at him with his patented Wolf Stare.
“Stand back or I slit his throat,” Percy growled and shifted his gaze to lock eyes with Sam, who stepped back quickly and held his hands up. “Annabeth, are you alright?” Percy asked, though he did not look away from Sam.
Annabeth just rolled her eyes. “Percy, it’s alright,” she said. “Would you put your sword away? This is Sam and Dean.”
Percy’s eyes widened and he scrambled off Dean. He stowed Riptide and hauled Dean back to his feet in one smooth motion.
“Shit, sorry, dude,” Percy said with his customary crooked grin. He rubbed the back of his neck and his smile turned sheepish. “I wanted to make a better first impression,” he laughed and shook his head. “I’m excited to meet you guys! My mom didn’t tell me much, but from what she did say and learning about all the other nightmarish shit out there, well, you guys sounded really cool.”
Sam and Dean were a little too stunned to respond immediately, still reeling from the whiplash of Percy’s complete one-eighty from murderous intent to sweet smiley kid.
Sam recovered first. “No worries, kid. With lives like ours, you can’t afford to ask questions. We’ve made our fair share of ‘shoot first, ask questions later’ entrances.” He grinned and offered Percy his hand. “I’m Sam, and I would love you to show me how you put my brother on the ground so fast.”
Percy laughed. “I’d be happy to after all this is over,” he said, gesturing vaguely at the Argo II. “I’d ask if you guys wanted to join us and help defeat Gaea, but I don’t think the prophecy would take kindly to that.”
“What is the prophecy, anyway?” Dean asked, finally over his shock enough to speak.
Percy winced. “Not pretty, that’s for sure,” he sighed. “Seven halfbloods shall answer the call / To storm or fire the world must fall / An oath to keep with a final breath / And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.”
Dean let out a low whistle and Sam cursed under his breath.
“Gaea is rising, and so are her children, the giants. They’ve chained the doors of death, so monsters aren’t staying dead like they should. We have to free the doors and stop the giants’ plan to raise the earth mother.” Annabeth said.
“How?” Sam asked incredulously. “I mean, that’s . . .” he trailed off, unsure how to even finish that sentence.
“We don’t know yet,” Percy said with a shrug. “That tends to be how it goes. Things usally only start to make sense when we’re in the thick of it. It can be annoying, but when you’re a demigod, you just gotta learn to roll with the punches.”
Suddenly a voice called out from aboard the Argo II.
“Percy! Annabeth! We gotta go! Quit chatting with the hired muscle numbers one and two!”
Percy turned around to wave dismissively at the curly haired kid leaning over the boat’s railing. “Yeah, yeah!” he called. “We’re coming, Leo! But cut me some slack! I was just possessed by a weird spirit and these are my cousins that I didn’t know existed! Figured I should say hello before we head off to our almost certain deaths!”
Leo yelled something back in Spanish that made Percy cackle before turning back to them.
“Well, guess we better get back to the ship before Leo decides to take off without us. We’ll have to meet up again if we make it out of this alive, yeah?” Percy smiled at them before grabbing Annabeth’s hand and heading back to the ship.
Sam and Dean watched as the ship disappeared before turning to each other with identical incredulous expressions. “What the fuck,” they exclaimed in unison and then busted out laughing.
“Shit, that was really scary, but also kinda funny,” Sam said as his laughter calmed down. “I mean, he had you laid out faster than either of us could track!”
Dean groaned. “I can’t believe he took me out so easily! I mean, yeah, we’re close to the same height and he definitely solid muscle under there, but he’s still so small! How the hell did he pin me like that?” Dean threw his hands up in the air and turned around to stalk back toward the impala.
Sam snickered. “He did have a sword at your throat,” he pointed out.
“Yeah, but I know how to get out of a hold like that! I’ve done it before!” Dean whirled around to glare at his brother. “I couldn’t move, okay? Kid’s strong as hell, and not just with his godly-mojo-stuff. I mean, Annabeth got it cleared up quick, but I tried to flip us over or buck him off, and I could hardly even twitch!”
Sam’s eyes widened. “Wait, for real?” he gasped.
Dean nodded.
So Dean and Sam have a bit of a crisis lmao while the seven are off to Rome.
Back on the ship, Percy has his head buried in Annabeth’s shoulder. “I can’t believe I attacked them,” he bemoans himself. “They probably hate me now,” he wails and Annabeth just rubs his back consolingly while she tries not to laugh.
They carry on.
This scene is short, but some real doozies are coming your way, don't worry.

Nico has spent his whole life in the New York Academy of Dance. He was enrolled before he could take his first breath, when he was still in his mother’s womb. But his mother loved ballet dearly, and so there was never a choice. After she died, it was his way - and Bianca’s - to honour Maria. When Bianca passed, too, it was just the logical thing to do. It was all he’d ever known, and he’d just lost everything, he couldn’t lose himself, too. Plus, where would he even go? Back home with his father? That would have been torture.
It’s on a Wednesday that Nico turns eighteen. Drew and Rachel bring him a chocolate croissant, which he forces himself to eat. Then he just goes on with his day.
“We are totally celebrating this weekend,” Drew tells him, once they’re having dinner.
Nico plays with the tomatoes in his salad. “I don’t know. I don’t really feel like it.”
Drew groans, and Rachel elbows her in the ribs.
“We’ve already told your cousins we would bring you to the club,” Drew says. “So act surprised when it happens.”
Nico snorts.
“Drew!” Rachel exclaims. “It was supposed to be a surprise!”
“A surprise he’s going to hate,” Drew replies. “At least now he’ll hate it so much now that he’ll forget about it later.”
Nico shrugs. “That might actually work.”
Rachel shakes her head. “I hate the two of you.”
“Who else is coming?” Nico asks. “Us, Percy and Jason?”
“Jackson said he’ll bring this girl he’s seeing. Leo confirmed earlier, and there’s also Piper, I think.”
“Hazel?” Nico asks hopeful. His half-sister lives in LA with their father, so Nico knows it’s a no before Rachel and Drew shake their heads.
“She couldn’t make it,” Rachel says in a soft voice. Of the three of them, she’s always been the most tactful. “But she sent you a gift.”
“Yeah, I got it.” Nico sighs. “I’ll go to my room, now. I’m full.”
And he goes to his room, but he can’t fall asleep. He keeps remembering his birthdays with Bianca, and how happy she made him. She used to sneak out and get him waffles from the place down the road, and now he can’t stop thinking about waffles. So he puts on pants and a jumper and does the same: he sneaks out.
It’s cold outside. The snow falls heavy, and he can’t help but shiver. He should have brought a jacket, but it’s too late to go back. And too risky. He hasn’t even brought his phone.
He takes a deep breath when he finally gets to the diner. It’s still open. There are only two costumers: a woman sitting at the counter and a man in a booth. Nico sits at the opposite end of the counter from the woman, just under the television. It’s on a news channel, but the remote control is placed on the counter. Nico takes it in his hands, but he finds he doesn’t know many channels. There is no television at the Academy.
“What can I get you?”
Nico jumps out of his skin. He hadn’t heard the waiter coming. And then he blushes furiously. The waiter is a guy with tan, freckled skin, beach blonde hair and blue eyes. The tag he wears on the chest says Will.
“Waffles,” Nico replies slowly. “With milk chocolate.”
The waiter, Will, smiles. “Sure thing.”
It doesn’t take long for the waffles to be ready. Will places them on the counter, then puts there his crossed arms, too. He leans forward with a smirk.
“So, it’s late for waffles,” Will says.
Nico hums around a mouthful of said waffles. “I guess so.”
“What are you doing around so late?”
Nico doesn’t raise his eyes from the place. “I’m getting waffles.”
Will laughs. “Sounds about right. Are you celebrating something? Or are you sad about something?”
“I didn’t know waiters talked so much,” Nico says. “I’m celebrating, I think.”
“Not all waiters. And you don’t sound sure about what you’re doing.”
Nico sighs. “I’m celebrating my birthday.”
Will claps, attracting attention from both other costumers. “Happy birthday, man!”
Nico gives a small smile. “Thanks.”
“How old are you turning?”
“Eighteen.”
“Cool! Just a year younger than me.”
Nico’s lips stretch in another smile. He only ever smiles this much during ballet recitals, it’s weird that his smile isn’t forced but natural.
“How else will you be celebrating?”
Nico shrugs. “My friends are bringing me to a club. I don’t really want to go.”
“Clubs are boring after a while. Unless you like dancing, I guess.”
“I like dancing!” Nico blushes at his outburst. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to yell.”
“It’s cool. So, you go to that fancy ballet school?”
Nico feels small under Will’s eyes. “How did you tell?”
“First, you’re here late, so that means you live around here. Secondly, you have its logo on your jumper.”
Nico blushes again. “Right.”
Will’s lips stretch in a smile. “It wasn’t hard for Sherlock Holmes.”
“You would be Sherlock?”
“That makes you Watson, by the way.”
Nico is laughing before he realises. “There’s actually this friend of mine, who calls me Watson, too. She says I look like him.”
Will smiles. “See? I’m very clever. I’m Sherlock.”
Nico shakes his head. “You’re not as clever as you think you are.”
“How can you tell? I was trying to hide it.”
God, Will really makes Nico smile so easily. They continue talking, and Nico learns a lot of things about Will. He learns that Will is studying biology at college, that he has two older brothers, two younger ones and a younger sister, and he’s from Texas. He also tells Will a lot of things about himself, and he only returns at the Academy at two am, climbing in through the window of his bedroom.

11 Yr old sister's reaction to Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters - i only got about halfway through with writing down the reactions cus i was so tired lmfao
Opening scene:
Sister: This is underwater!!!
Sister: Percy’s voice changed…
Only three made it to camp…
Sister: What do you mean only three??
“Annabeth come on!”
Sister: Oh, so this little girl was Annabeth’s friend?
Thalia gets thrown back
Sister: oh… oh no…
***
Guy screams
Sister: oh, HAH
Music starts
Sister: OH, I’ve seen this!
***
In comes Clarisse
Sister: Is that?
Me: It’s Clarisse.
Sister: Oh!
***
Dionysus’s wine turns to water
Sister: What?? - Oh, it became water… COOL!
***
Clarisse hits Percy with peg
Sister: Ohhh…
Percy pulls peg from under Clarisse
Sister: YAH!
***
Guy falls
Sister: uh oh…
Sister: C’mon Percy, you got this
Percy jumps down
Sister: oh, cool! That was awesome
Percy helps guy up
Sister: Go TEAM!
Percy gets knocked down
Sister: Oh… Never mind.
***
Dionysus gives Percy a rake
Sister: A rake?? Great.
***
Percy trying and failing to talk to Poseidon
Sister: Aww… He just wants to talk to his father…
***
Tyson tells Dionysus and Chiron that Poseidon’s his dad
Sister: Whose this??
***
(she started humming the Jeopardy theme song under her breath at this point, and we had a deviled egg break)
***
Sees Tyson’s face
Sister: HUH??
***
Tyson: Smells like bull.
Loud thud
Sister: Whoa! What is happening????
Sees barrier being attacked
Sister: something’s trying to get in-
Barrier breaks
Sister: OH NO
Bull uses Fire breath; it is very effective
Sister: Uh oh!
Annabeth puts the spear in bulls side, spear gets shredded

Mr D picks Clarisse over Percy
Sister: that doesn’t even make any sense!
***
I stopped to explain what happened in the books with Annabeth, Luke, Thalia, Grover and the cyclopses. I could tell my sister thought Annabeth was just being a bully to Tyson, and wanted to make sure she understood what happened in the books.

Percy: don’t be surprised when he doesnt….
Sister: Answer?
Percy: Answer…
Sister: HA! I knew it!!!!

Sister: Are those sharks…
Sees more of the teeth
Sister: Not sharks. Not sharks!!!!
***
This was about the point where I got too tired to keep up, but she loved Grover in the wedding dress XD she loves Grover in all universes, cried when Tyson got shot, cheered when Tyson saved Percy from Luke, panicked when Luke got eaten by Kronos, got angry when Grover got eaten by Kronos, and she cried (more like sobbed) when Annabeth ‘died’, except, i didnt’ know she was crying till after Annabeth got back up and she was relieved. XD I felt so bad
She also loved Thalia’s outfit at the end too
(also, she gave me full permission to post her reactions to the movies/rest of the episodes)

In honor of you going to see TSwift in a few weeks, I’m begging (read: demanding) to know which TS album each Weasley couple is. 😘
Molly & Arthur:
Debut - the OGs, they have lived through two wars, raised seven kids, lost one child, seen their family be killed off, lost friends that were like family, and yet can still open their hearts to love.
Favorite song from the album: I’m Only Me When I’m With You
Bill & Fleur:
Fearless TV- these two keep their hearts on their sleeves and try to live a life of adventure! They are brave and open people, and nothing can stop them, even dancing in the rain in their best dress.
Favorite song from the album: Fearless
Victoire & SJ:
Speak Now - all they ever want to be is heard! So an album written by one and only one person sticks out to them. They ran away to start a life together, and yet resettled close to their siblings to keep the family together.
Favorite song from the album: Speak Now or Long Live
Dominique & Lorcan:
Lover - they got together in the middle of tragedy, they spent their nights thinking of each other and also what was coming next. They spent so much time fighting opposing forces, only for the same outcome to happen. At some point, they asked the traffic lights if everything was going to be okay, only to hear…‘I don’t know’.
Favorite song from the album: Paper Rings
Louis & Anamika:
Red TV - passionate, beautiful, colorful. Louis loves Anamika in red and she’ll sit for him for hours with the album playing. Sure it’s all about a relationship ending, but it just makes them feel more secure in their own.
Favorite song from the album: Safe & Sound (from the vault)
Charlie:
1989 - it’s fun, it’s adventurous, it’s addictive, it’s 1989. It’s an album he can hum under his breath around the dragons that won’t cause them to go crazy and he can listen to it with his nieces and nephews with no complaints, it’s a little dated, but so is he and no one can revoke his “cool uncle” title anyways.
Favorite song from the album: Shake It Off
Percy & Audrey:
1989 - for all of its highs, this album also has its lows. While they hated it when it was the only album the girls played on loop for about a year, they grew to love the music and messages of love behind the lyrics. Don’t tell anyone but they are the secret Swifties of the family.
Favorite song from the album: This Love
Molly & Artie:
Red TV - it took them a few tries, but they finally nailed it down. They took all of their anger, all of their love, all of their unyielding passion, and they came together and found love and can’t let that love go.
Favorite song from the album: Come Back…Be Here
Lucy & Devon:
Evermore - she’s the sister album to Folklore, but the cousin to Red, which is enough for Lucy. Her story with Devon is spent so much in secrets and quiet moments, that Evermore resonates with them. Often they also feel like the forgotten couple because they keep their issues to themselves instead of bringing the whole family in too.
Favorite song from the album: gold rush
George & Angelina:
Speak Now - I don’t think I could pick anything else for them. After the war, after all of their losses, they both turned inward, losing their voices until they found each other again.
Favorite song from the album: Last Kiss
Freddie & LeeAnne:
Midnights - they keep a time stamp on their relationship because time spent together is their love language. Time together whether in the middle of the night or not, is important to them, intrusive thoughts and all.
Favorite song from the album: Sweet Nothing
Roxanne & Sean/Sasha:
Lover - with Sean it’s all about young love, sweet and innocent, while Sasha it’s about growth and change and acceptance. Both sides are seen in this album.
Favorite song from the album: Sean is Lover, Sasha is Daylight
Ron & Hermione:
1989 - bright, hypnotic, new. Their relationship thrives on challenging each other and making each other grow, finding adventure even while standing close. Also they love to dance.
Favorite song from the album: Wildest Dreams
Rose & Scorpius:
Red - they are passionate and loud and young and they feel it as they laugh and dance and sing together. They fall in love at the wrong time for all the right reasons and together they lift each other up. Also they are hopelessly romantic, and nothing is more romantic than a break up album.
Favorite song from the album: Red
Hugo & Lyla:
Folklore - she’s anxious and he can’t stand still, but together they’re calm, cool, and collected. They find the summer to be their best season and time seems to slow down just for them and their love for one another.
Favorite song from the album: Invisible String
Ginny & Harry:
Reputation - because isn’t that what they’ve always been fighting for?
Favorite song from the album: Call It What You Want
James & Katie/Marci:
Reputation - with Katie, James is trying to protect his reputation for her, and it still makes her cheat on him and leave him at his lowest.
Lover - with Marci, James is trying to recover from Katie and the damage she caused him while also falling in love. She makes him let go of his reputation and just start thinking about love.
Favorite song from the album: Look What You Made Me Do / Afterglow
Al & Maggie:
Evermore - dark and heavy full of failed love stories and also stories full of love and wanting, it reflects both halves of their relationship. The anger of not wanting to be in love at seventeen and the hopelessness of being in love at twenty-two.
Favorite song from the album: champagne problems
Lily & Ryan:
Midnights - the beginning of their relationship is spent hiding away from the world in their own quiet space, in the hours between midnight and 3am. Lots of stories and thoughts and adventures are shared that maybe shouldn’t have been, but that’s the beauty of the nighttime hours, the sun is coming soon.
Favorite song from the album: Lavender Haze
Teddy & Annabelle:
Speak Now - this album is what made them Swifties, and in many ways made them realize that they’re not just friends. Playing music and writing songs together is how they became friends and fell in love, so they see the strength in doing it all alone.
Favorite song from the album: Mine
If anyone wants me to explain the song selection, just send another ask, but for right now I’m going back to bed.

How I’d rewrite HOO with my Dream Team Seven P.1
(Note:Here’s the link to my Dream Team Seven Post)
I wanna write a introduction to this post and go on but the title basically says everything that this post is about so I’m not going to let’s just get into.
Tumblr media
The Lost Hero
The lost hero goes the same up until when Jason,Leo,and Piper get picked up cause it isn’t just Annabeth. Percy is there too. In my version he isn’t missing and isn’t part of the prophecy so he doesn’t get kidnapped by Hera. There entrance into camp half blood is the same however the border patrol is there cause remember monster aren’t staying dead yet and keep coming back. The entrance to camp is told in Jason’s point of view and we get his anxiety from being there.
However when we reach Piper point of view we get Drew’s point of view instead. We get to see a dream of Hera telling Drew to free her or everyone is doomed. We see Drew get up and actually get to see a different side to her. Stuff like picking out outfits for her siblings and laying a blanket on them. Of course when they wake up she goes into full bitch mode. So when her siblings comment on the stuff she’s like “I can’t trust you to pick a good outfit” or “Sleep like a human not an animal”. This gets her siblings mad of course and they get into an argument.
The reason Drew does the bitch mode is because she does care but the last time she showed that was with Silena. Silena then betrays the camp which Drew viewed as betraying her family. So to cope she acts like a bitch so she doesn’t get hurt by being vulnerable. Her siblings obviously aren’t cool with it so that creates a rift between them.
Anyway getting back on track the chapter ends with Drew meeting the Jason,Piper, and Leo. The next chapter picks up immediately after that as she leaves the conversation because she can tell Piper is just like Silena in a personality sense. She leaves and goes to the Hera cabin in order to clear her mind and because she is wondering why new campers show up the day she gets a message from Hera. She then encounters Rachel and these two are actually friends because they can relate to having shitty family members. They talk a little until Rachel has her freak out like in the book and knocks Drew out.
Everything is the same up until the campfire scene happens as Jason is trying to pick who goes on the quest. Leo volunteers like usual and gets to go on the quest. The real change arises when Piper is claimed as a child of Aphrodite. Drew volunteers because remember she does care about her siblings but in her own way. Piper actually wants to go on the quest but unlike in the book her father isn’t in danger and didn’t get the vision from Hera. So she doesn’t get into the quest. Drew actually gets the quest because she is experienced and got the vision from Hera.
Everything will Leo and Jason is the same so let’s just move into what happens with Drew. Everything the same except we have more of a view into Drew’s character and what she is like. The only change is that when Piper says that Aphrodite isn’t about breaking hearts almost everyone in the cabin corrects her because Aphrodite in the book she was introduced in says this to Percy "You're so cute. I wish all my daughters could break the heart of a boy as nice as you." Aphrodite's eyes were tearing up.”. So yeah not a great person. But here when Piper says that it resonates with Drew because she and Silena believed that as well and from this Drew gains a tiny bit of respect for Piper and puts her in charge while she is gone. Though she does say something like “You think that, well try dealing with the cabin while I’m gone loser”. Drew goes out when the dragon touches down in camp.
The interaction is the same except in my version of the story Drew is the one who calls Leo repair boy because she forgot his name and is reminded when Jason shows up. Though she does say something like “Keep your hands to yourself boys”. Let’s continue into to the city of Quebec.
Here Drew proves how useful she is by talking to Boreas in French. This is helpful cause it stop Khione form mistranslating anything they say and making it go wrong. Of course the interaction still ends the same but Drew has gained a little of Jason’s respect and can be on decent terms with him.
Maybe have Drew warm up a little to Jason and Leo in the chapters after Quebec.Have Leo say that she isn’t so bad since she saved him and Jason from becoming ice sculptures. Then have Drew maybe return the compliment since he is the reason they can even do the quest. Or not and have her just pretend not to care but feel good on the inside. You can have Drew thank Jason picking her for the quest cause she can finally get away from all the crap at the camp and finally getting to prove herself.
Expand on her character in the next chapter by having her feel abandoned by Aphrodite since Silena and some other kids got a visit from Aphrodite but not her. Of course this is because she is special and they can’t interact until a certain point. Then have Enceladus come in and try to force her to betray the guys but she will refuse because they are kinda her friends also she isn’t stupid and knows Enceladus will kill her too.
They still fall into the Cyclops warehouse and Drew breaks her leg. We gets some more characterization from Drew though as she wants to keep moving despite her leg. Jason obvious isn’t cool with that cause her leg is broken. She of course doesn’t want to be useless. But Jason just ask her to trust him. This is a big moment because its the first time she’s trusted somebody since Silena. She still eats the whole ambrosia square cause that was metal as hell.
The fight between the Leo and the cyclops go completely the same and Drew does do what Piper try’s to do with the charm-speak. Jason is still knocked out and getting carried on the quest by his two friends. Yes at this point Drew and Jason are friends. Drew and Leo are getting there. They’ll have a friendship moment.
Leo and Jason still have there moment in the sewer where he lets him know he doesn’t think he’s a freak and they talk about the other members of the seven. We can then have Jason feel like they’ll meet another member soon. This of course references Thalia’s appearance in the book.
We have Medea in the department store but here though the interaction between Drew and Medea is actually important cause they were both betrayed by people they love. Drew here actually sees what she will look like in the future if she continues down this path of hatred and pettiness. This is when she finally realizes that she needs to let go and the first step to that is making new friendships.
So yeah now Drew actually has a reason to oppose Medea and thanks to realizing this she is able to get the power to break Medea’s charm-speak on Leo and Jason cause she is actually using her emotions and being vulnerable instead of just forcing it.
The next part I’m going to change is when Leo meets his father. The reason I’m going to change it is that I refuse to believe that every demigod kid is just cool with their parent abandoning them for unknown reasons. So yeah Leo doesn’t vibe with Hephaestus and doesn’t forgive him for abandoning him and his mom. Hephaestus still does tell him everything he usually does. Though Leo isn’t cool with Hephaestus.
We still have the Festus scene because it is a great scene. The scenes leading up to King Midas’s introduction is fine though I will include some banter between Leo & Drew to add some more to their friendship.
For the King Midas fight scene I would actually not have Drew & Leo’s powers suddenly not work for a really stupid reason. Cause how the hell does Gold stop powers that don’t come from a outside source. You can still have Drew’s charm-speak not work because Midas has built up a resistance to charm-speak.
You can have Drew turn into gold. So now Jason can shine fighting Lityerses while Leo keeps Midas busy so that he can’t just gold touch Jason. We even have stakes now since Drew is still gold and could be kept like that if Jason and Leo fail. They even have reasons to try and save her cause they are friends.
(Note:The reason I don’t have Leo turn into to gold is because while he is still touched by Midas his fire powers make his internal temperature so hot that the gold touch is slowed down enough that he can fight Midas.)
Here we go back to Drew’s point of view where she has hypothermia and is ungoldified. Here we have Drew confess to Enceladus trying to get her to join the Giant’s side. This actually creates a stronger bond between the group as they learn she basically refused the bad guys before they were friends. We then get to learn more about Coach Hedge and the Giants as a whole.
Here we learn that Coach Hedge has been around since the last fire user was alive. We then get to see a bit of backstory and why he is so angry. He tells the other that Thomas was essentially Luke before Luke was a thing. The Great Fire of London was because he was fighting against Ares after he’d been sent to kill Thomas.
However we don’t get to continue with the sorry because they are interrupted by Lycaon and his wolf pack. Here everything goes the same except that Leo never runs out of gas with his fire so the conflict instead is if the wolf pack will leave before they all die from inhaling too much smoke.
Of course that never happens and instead we finally get to see Thalia. Thalia still tells Jason all about their mother and what happened to him at two years old.Leo in my version doesn’t crush that easily so right now he thinks that Thalia is cool and just awwing at how cool she is. Thalia actually gets to keep the little characterization she had in PJO so when Leo makes his jokes on the way to Aoleus palace she actually laughs a little.
(Note:She laughed at the Dam joke. I think that Leo whose whole fake personality is just a jokester would at least be a little funny and could make her laugh)
Leo in this story doesn’t burn up the the ice bridge because here Percy and Jason never swapped. So he doesn’t suddenly show off that he can’t control his powers even though he has been controlling them since his mom died. So yeah now Thalia can stay with her sibling and gets more time to shine.
On the way to talk to Aoleus we get to see some interactions between Thalia and the trio. Maybe have Jason notice Thalia’s fear when they have to cross the crappy wood floor. Remember she still has her fear of heights. Then you can have Leo do the your catching me line to Thalia. I have Leo do it cause while he does joke,he is also observant and is able to see that Thalia is terrified. So when he joked with her he essentially brought her back to reality and reminded her people were near.
The encounter with Aoleus and his assistant Mellie goes the same with Coach Hedge getting her number and Aoleus turning on them. Though Thalia gets to flex more of her experience of being a half-blood as she is the one to propose Aoleus helps them in exchange for a promotion. Of course it doesn’t work but it does show off how much experience Thalia has dealing with crazy gods. Even have Jason awe a little at his big sis.
Though while Mellie & Jason try to stop them from falling they need more help. This is where Thalia sorta begins to develop. So now while they are falling Thalia needs to be kinda coached on how to control the winds. However she’s freaking cause remember her fear of heights. So now Jason has to help his sister with the winds. After a while Thalia sorta gets the hang of it though Jason passes out cause of how much stress he was under ending the chapter
Here we have the Drew chapter. In this chapter we have a flashback to Silena telling Drew about her not going to do the trial of Aphrodite. Drew actually encourages Silena. Drew tells Silena about how she feels that Aphrodite shouldn’t be about breaking hearts. Silena then agrees with her and promises to always be their for Drew. So yeah we now have the full story of Drew. So yeah I diagnosed Drew with abandonment issues. The chapter slowly transitions to the talk with Aphrodite. Here we have Drew immediately try to avoid any conversation with her mother because she feels like a failure for a Aphrodite child. Of course I’m keeping Aphrodite’s character consistent from PJO. So she is a little disappointed with Drew but she still gives her the pep talk she gave to Piper in the original Lost Hero.
The next chapter goes the same with with Drew giving the run down on everything her mother told her to the group. Thalia actually is the one to give the rundown on Gaea and how she isn’t actually like what the story portray her to be. They actually land in in Sonoma Valley, California, United States of America. Since I just put Enceladus to guard Hera since I couldn’t really find a use for him anywhere else.
So all five of the group members trek to the wolf house since they landed close enough to just walk to the wolf house. So yeah here instead of Khione as the villain guarding Hera we have Enceladus. Since Khione isn’t the one guarding Hera and Enceladus is. The hunter of Artemis just get washed. Like they are a like murdered. The reason I had this happen was because I feel like their weren’t enough stakes in Heroes of Olympus compared to PJO. This also increase the Giant’s threat level as just one was able to annihilate the all the Hunters of Artemis.
So the match up goes something like this.
Jason,Enraged Thalia,and Leo vs Enceladus.
Drew talking to the cage to slow it down.
So yeah overall it is a hard fought battle in Thalia ends up losing her arm to Enceladus. Though this pisses of Jason enough to where he is able to take out Enceladus with the help of Zeus.
Some developments from this battle are that
Thalia has now lost arm
Jason is shown to be extremely powerful
Leo has a moment where he tries out Enceladus fire breath thing and it works so now he wants to explore his powers some more since he realizes just how dangerous the Giant’s and Gaea are.
Thalia is now the only hunter of Artemis (not for long)
Leo then cauterizes Thalia arm wound with fire so she doesn’t bleed out. Jason provides Leo with enough electricity for his buzzsaw and then together with Drew they free Hera. Hera then notices the state that Thalia is in and heals her just enough to get taken to camp. (Hera heals Thalia cause she is able to realize they will need everyone against the Giant’s) So yeah Porphyrion never rises and Gaea is thwarted for now.
Hera then teleports them all back to camp half-blood with Leo still throwing up in the brazier cause of his motion sickness. Jason rushes to get Thalia to the medical area. Drew in the next morning wakes up to Piper commanding the cabin. Instead of being mad though she names Piper head counselor. Piper is confused cause she though Drew hated her. At which point Drew apologizes to Piper and the rest of her cabin for the way she has been acting. She tells them all about her feeling about Silena and everything. The reason she is doing it is because of the pep talk Aphrodite gave her.
The Leo chapter where he shows the camp the bunker is different as when he shows them his fire powers they actually react how they would have by being scared of Leo. When they show that reaction to Leo his friends Jason,Drew, and Thalia (cause they are sorta friends at this point) defend him by saying he’s done nothing but help.
The rest of the chapters then process as normal but with the added fact that his cab-inmates are now scared sorta decreasing Leo’s mood. Also he isn’t head counselor now.
Hera also gave Jason all of his memories back so now he is more divided about where he should be.
I’ll talk about the side story later but right now I’ll be closing out cause this post is long as hell and I just want to finish writing it.

This is for Angel for filling out my survey, thank you so much!
Prompt: Percy and Cass being happy
Vex is fast asleep and yet rest can’t find Percy. There’s a joy in him, a flutter that won’t allow him to sleep. The reason for said joy is the cooing baby in the crib beside the bed. Little Vesper is gurgling, stretching out her limbs in the moonlight. Percy rises and pads over to her, peering down at his daughter.
At the sight of her father, Vesper begins to babble more. He smiles even wider and lifts the baby into his arms. She’s so small, the last time he had held a baby was Cassandra and even she hadn’t seemed this little. But both Vex and Pike have assured him that she’s perfectly healthy.
“Come on, dearest, let's not wake your mother, she deserves her rest,” Percy tells her softly. He slips on a pair of slippers and quietly leaves their bedroom. With a polite nod to the guard outside their bedroom door, Percy begins to walk down the hallway. The windows let in glowing moonlight, bathing the stones a cool white color.
But as he walks, he finds something, or rather someone he doesn’t expect. Cassandra is sitting in the windowsill of the grand staircase, a flannel blanket pulled over her legs as she looks down at the garden. She looks so young, Percy thinks. It’s easy to forget that she’s not even twenty yet with the way she acts. Here, she looks like the young woman she truly is.
Vesper gurgles, alerting Cassandra to their presence. His sister smiles, “You’re up awfully late. You daughter inheriting your sleep habits?”
Percy chuckles, “Gods, I hope not.” He walks over to her and smiles as she makes room for him on the sill. Percy sits down, allowing Cassandra to tuck the blanket over his legs. They both are too susceptible to the cold these days. “What are you doing up?”
Cassandra shrugs, “Couldn’t sleep.” She is silent for a moment before leaning her head on the window and looking at him. “Do you remember Snowball?”
Percy chuckles, “Do I remember our sister’s practically feral cat? Of course I do. I remember her being massive and nearly suffocating Ollie when she sat on his chest.”
Cassandra laughs, “Gods, that’s right. She was bigger than Vesper is now.” At her name, Vesper babbles again. Both of the siblings smile. “Can I hold her?”
Percy hums and passes the baby over to her. Cassandra smiles down at her and Percy watches as his daughter grabs a chunk of Cassandra’s hair and shoves it into her mouth. To his surprise, Cassandra doesn’t pull it away, she just rolls her eyes fondly. It takes Percy a moment to realize why this image looks so odd to him, he’s never seen Cassandra holding a baby to her. She’s always been the baby in the family.
“Why were you thinking about Snowball?” Percy asks after a moment.
Cassandra shrugs, “I’ve been thinking about getting a cat. Might liven the place up a little, keep the memories at bay. Plus Kynan has been complaining about mice in the barracks.”
Percy smiles, “That’s a great idea.”
Three weeks later, Percy is regretting encouraging that idea. For the fifth time in as many minutes, Percy has to remove his sister’s kitten from his shoulder. For some reason Ink, as Cassandra has dubbed the completely black cat, has decided that the best place to nap is on top of Percy’s shoulder, leading to her digging her little claws into him to climb up his entire body.
By the sixth time he tosses Ink onto the carpet, he stands up, grabbing the kitten who mews in protest and marches over to his sister’s office. He doesn’t even knock before throwing open the door. Inside, Percy finds Cassandra sitting in her armchair, Vesper tucked into her arms.
His sister is smiling, humming softly as she rocks Vesper. The baby watches her aunt with wide eyes, her hand clenched tight around a clump of Cassandra’s white hair. When Percy barges in, she jumps, clutching Vesper to her chest protectively. Seeing it’s just him, she sighs, “Gods, Percy, what the hell?”
“Trade babies with me,” Percy holds out Ink to Cassandra. The kitten meows in protest, trying to wriggle from Percy’s grasp. “She’s trying to torture me.”
Cassandra chuckles, “Sounds like she’s succeeding. But why should I give up my time with my niece because you don’t like your nephew?”
Percy sighs, closing his eyes as he reminds himself that he loves his sister dearly. “I like him just fine, but having him crawl all over me is not conducive to getting any work done.” The kitten meows as if in protest of Percy’s words. “Please just take him, Cassie, and keep him here.”
Cassandra pretends to think for a moment, “Can Vesper stay with me?”
Something warms in Percy’s chest at the question. There was never any doubt in his mind that Cassandra would be a wonderful aunt, but when Vex had been pregnant, he had to remind her of that fact many a night. He remembers holding Cassandra tight to his chest and rocking her like a child, reminding her over and over that he wants her in his daughter’s life, that her trauma and what happened to her will never change that.
Now here is that same young woman, holding onto Vesper like she is the most precious thing in the world, demanding that she be allowed to stay with her for just a little longer. Percy has never been able to deny any of the women in his life anything, least of all his little sister.
So with a sigh, he sets Ink on the ground and nods, “Fine, but keep your son in here.”
Cassandra rolls her eyes, but nods, lifting one of Vesper’s chubby hands to wave him out of the room. He sighs again, giving both his sister and daughter a kiss on the head before leaving the room. Gods he does adore his family so much.

People Watching
“What about the kids sitting at Crescent?”
“Cres– you can’t name our tables, Annabeth.” Percy leans his elbows on the counter and peers around the snack shelf. “That’s… no. I think they’re friends.”
“So you knew what I meant by Crescent.” Annabeth points a finger at him and Percy snorts.
“The table by the window that opens up into Crescent Street? It isn’t rocket science.” He flicks her forehead and Annabeth scowls at him. “But they’re not dating. Look– the guy in the yellow jacket, he keeps checking his phone. It’s way too desperate– he’s texting a partner, or a potential partner, a crush. You know.”
“Fair enough.” Annabeth looks around the room. It’s slim pickings today– late Tuesday mornings aree generally quiet.
“There.” Percy says. “What about that group by The Bar?”
“The Bar?” Annabeth makes a face at him. “I’ll have you know that table is named Lawyer’s Ledge. Silena and I spent ages naming these tables. They’re our children.”
“Except all your names suck. But fine. Who in that group is dating?”
Annabeth observed them carefully. “There. The girl in green and the ginger girl. Look at the way they look at each other. I’d bet money they’re holding hands under the table when they think their friends aren’t watching.”
“I’m not sure. The tall skinny guy bought the redhead’s drink.”
“So? Maybe they’re friends. Maybe he owes her.”
“Fine. It doesn’t matter.” Something over her shoulder catches his attention. “Don’t make it obvious but a new couple just walked in.”
Even before she can find it in herself to be irritated– why would I make it obvious? This isn’t my first rodeo, Percy– her new customers have already crossed the length of the café and are currently waiting to be served. The girl seems warm enough– bright smile and sparkling brown eyes. Her companion is a little less welcoming, keeping an awkward but respectful distance from her, his broad shoulders rolled back and his spine erect as he watched Annabeth step back into the counter.
“Hey guys, what can I get for you?” She turns on her screen as the girl hums, scanning the menu.
“I’m going to get a large iced double shot caramel macchiato with five pumps of vanilla syrup. Is that okay?” Annabeth glances at Percy, who’s trying really hard to keep a straight face and then nods at her. “Extra whip, and some extra caramel drizzle on it.”
“Sure thing.” Annabeth checks the time on her screen. It’s only 10AM but Annabeth and Percy have already been on their feet for five hours. With that amount of caffeine and sugar for such a small body– it’s hard to imagine the girl shaking off the effects of her drink by the time night rolls around. “And you?”
“I’ll have a green tea. Regular, please.”
“Not a coffee person?” Annabeth asks as she rings them up. The guy shakes his head.
“Not really. Also a lemon muffin for me.” He adds, looking at his friend, who thinks about it for a moment before deciding against any food. Annabeth thinks she might be better for it. She’s grateful to have this job– if for any reason that it helps pay her bills– but she wouldn’t touch a single thing from their bakery with a ten foot pole.
“Cool. Percy?” Annabeth hands him the order. “Need me to help?”
“No, I’ve got it.” He waves her off and Annabeth turns back to the couple.
“Got any plans for the day?”
“Not really.” The girl looks up hopefully at the boy. “Just thought we’d come grab some coffee and work on an assignment together.”
“It’s a nice day out, isn’t it?” Annabeth’s met some dense boys before– hell, she’s worked alongside some dense boys before– so it doesn’t take much for her to catch onto the girl’s tragic plight. “Sure your assignment can wait. Go out, enjoy it. We’re not going to see the sun like this for a while.”
“What do you think, Jason?” The girl taps her card against the reader and pays for the entire thing. Annabeth notices how she isn’t thanked. “You know… Jones doesn’t expect anything from us for another two weeks.”
“I don’t know.” Jason glowers at Annabeth like she’s the single source of all his problems. It doesn’t bother her all that much– she’s had a lot worse from customers who’ve received the wrong flavouring in their coffee. “How about we work for a bit, and we’ll take it from there.”
“Sounds like a plan.” The girl doesn’t seem too beaten down by their compromise. She looks around the coffee shop and studies Annabeth for a moment before doing the same to Percy. “So what’s the vibe here supposed to be?”
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t know.” She shrugs. “You’re so… frills and lace in your hair and he’s so… ripped jeans and just-rolled-out-of bed. No uniform?”
“Cool boss.” Percy tells her as he carefully places Jason’s lemon muffin on their tray. He slides it across to them. “Thanks for coming down.”
They watch the two of them debate between two tables– Baby Shit and Makeout Corner– before settling on the less fortunately named one. Percy lets out a sympathetic oof.
“Baby Shit.” He sighs. “That’s a shame. They aren’t getting far.”
“You never know.” Annabeth counters. “Maybe they’ll graduate to Makeout Corner.”
“If she doesn’t die of diabetes first.” Percy snorts. “Cocaine would be a healthier option than what she’s drinking.”
“Stop.” Annabeth laughs. “She looks like she really likes him, you know.”
“First date?” Percy asks. “She paid for the entire thing. I’d say that’s pretty progressive.”
“Sure, in the 1800s.” Annabeth smacks him in the chest. “They don’t seem like they have much in common on the surface, do they?”
“Oh, yeah. He’s a military brat. She’s got a rich father. They’ll be miserable together.”
“You think?” Annabeth tilts her head as she watches them. “I don’t know. Sometimes it’s nice to be with someone different from you, right?”
“Why?” Percy grabs her by the hips and tugs her backwards into him. “Like frills and lace in your hair is different from ripped jeans and whatever she called me?”
“Yeah. Like that.” Annabeth presses a kiss to his jaw. “Exactly like that.”
“If that kid’s anything like me,” Percy mumbles into her ear. “She needs to make a move. And fast.”
“Why?” Annabeth asks. “Did I have a lot of competition?”
“Yeah. That girl from my art class was super into me. She’d have snapped me right up if you hadn’t swung in on time.” Percy says, dead serious. “I’m hot commodity, Annabeth.”
“Fine, then.” Annabeth lets him lift her off her feet and push her onto the counter. Technically, they aren’t allowed to do that, but the place is empty enough that their chances of getting caught are pretty low. Percy steps in between her legs and she locks her ankles around him. “Want to bet who can pull more people?”
“I’m not playing that game with you.” Percy throws his head back when he laughs. “You kidding me? You’d wipe the floor with me.”
“Glad we’ve established that.” Annabeth smirks and Percy leans in for a quick peck on the lips. “Hey. None of that cute stuff. Cindy finds out we’re making out on the clock– we’re both fired.”
Percy presses his forehead against hers. “That’s a risk I’m willing to take.”

“What about this one?” Keyleth asks once again, stepping into view and spinning to give her college dorm-mate a full view of her newest set of clothes.
Percy sighs, begrudgingly looking up from his textbook to observe whatever she’s thrown together this time. “It looks fine. Just like the last eight outfits have.”
She looks down at the knitted green sweater she’d carefully picked out, paired with the black jeans. “Just fine? Are you sure it’s not too casual? Or not casual enough? Fuck, maybe I should wear something brighter…”
“Listen. I am the last person you should be coming to for fashion advice. Besides, no one there will care if your style isn’t perfect,” he tells her.
Keyleth pulls her lip between her teeth, wiping some imaginary dust off her black leggings and trying to convince herself to listen to him. Percy would know more than she would. After all, they’re his friends she’s meeting.
Still…
“I really want them to like me, Percy.” The admission would be hard to force out with anyone else, but it’s strangely easy to be honest with her roommate and best friend. “I mean, you make them sound so cool when you talk about them! And I don’t want to be that, like, annoying friend who no one wants to invite to the party, but they have to, because—”
Percy shuts his laptop, placing it beside him on the couch. “Keyleth,” he says, effectively cutting off her rambling with that tone of his that is somehow both firm and soothing. “They going to love you more than they love me. I promise.”
“Now you’re just trying to make me feel better,” she objects, rubbing the soft yarn of her sweater between her fingers to calm some of her anxiety.
“I’m really not. You’re much easier to care about than me.”
That catches her attention. Keyleth narrows her eyes and jabs a finger at him. “Put a quarter in the Deprecation Jar.”
The Deprecation Jar is her most ingenious idea, which she had come up with after seeing how much her best friend talked bad about himself. Whenever the mason jar is filled, Keyleth will buy him a gift with the money.
Percy scoffs. “That wasn’t self-deprecating, it was just the truth.”
“And now it’s two quarters. Put ‘em in.”
Percy grumbles, but nevertheless searches his pockets for the coins and reluctantly places them in the jar, which sits proudly on the coffee table. He keeps the quarters specifically to appease her. “Seriously, Keyleth. They adopt strays easily, and you will fit right in, regardless of what sweater you wear.”
She looks in the mirror one last time. She trusts Percy. At least, the logical part of her does.
And yet…. there’s another part of her, the anxious, emotional part, that can’t help but insist she will be judged for her outfit, and personality, and everything else. That’s the part that remembers going through school as the victim of pranks and gossip, simply because she wasn’t able to blend in.
“The sweater brings out your eyes. For the record,” Percy says when the silence has been drawn out for too long. He’s good at recognising her nerves, and although he doesn’t always know how to calm her, it’s sweet that he tries.
In the moment, that little bit of validation is all she needs. Keyleth smiles. “Thanks, Percy. Let’s go.”
*LINEBREAK*
It’s only a few minutes of a walk from Percy and Keyleth’s dorm to that of Percy’s friends, but Keyleth manages to fit about an hour of nervous babbling into that time. She only stops when the door is in sight, propped open slightly to reveal a sliver of a cozy looking room.
“Keyleth?” Percy asks when her words drop mid-syllable. “Are you alright?”
Swallowing her anxiety is hard, but she does, because she really does want to meet all of the people he talks about constantly. “Yeah. Come on, I don’t want to be late.”
For a second, he goes to say something, but cuts himself off. “Very well. They really are good people, and I assure you that they will take you in.”
She nods, pushing forward and knocking softly on the open door before peeking inside.
The dorm isn’t as crowded as she’d feared it might be, with only six visible people lounging around. They’re engaged in scattered conversations with each other, laughing and rolling their eyes and behaving with a happy familiarity.
One of them looks up at her soft knocking. A beautiful woman with dark brown hair pulled into a french braid, wearing a t-shirt for a band Keyleth has never heard of. “Percy!” she calls out, standing from the couch and making her way over. “And you must be Keyleth, the mysterious roommate.”
Keyleth nods and smiles. Her fingers twitch by her side, unsure if she should reach out to shake hands or hug or just do nothing. “Oh, I’m not mysterious,” she says, shoving her fists into her pockets before she can panic and hold them out for an awkward fist-bump.
That may or may not have been what she did when she met Percy.
The woman gestures them inside. “Well, I’m Vex. Come in, make yourself at home. The pizza on the right is vegetarian.”
Any thanks for the dietary clarification are cut off by utter shock when Vex lifts herself onto her toes and presses a kiss to Percy’s cheek, one of her hands resting on his chest. “Glad you could make it, darling.”
“You’re just glad I brought Keyleth. Don’t pretend you haven’t been dying to meet her,” he replies, using a fond tone that’s foreign to Keyleth.
Vex rolls her eyes. “I can be glad for more than one reason.” And then she’s tugging on his arm to lead him to the couch so they can sit a bit closer than normal friends do.
Keyleth forces herself to stop staring before it becomes noticeable.
She hadn’t realised that Percy was dating anyone, and certainly not someone she’d be meeting tonight. It makes nerves peer out from the corner she’d tried to shove them in. Friends are one thing, but a girlfriend? What if Keyleth doesn’t make a good impression?
Her movements are robotic as she sits on one of the loveseats, hands folded neatly in her lap.
In the corner, a short woman with pale hair is surprisingly holding her own in a playful arm-wrestle with a man easily twice her size. A brunette clad in purple cheers them on. On the other side of the room, a man who must be Vex’s brother, too identical to be unrelated, converses with a flamboyantly dressed blonde man, each of them lightly grinning. Vex laughs at something Percy said, kicking him half-heartedly.
Keyleth swallows, the feeling of isolation quickly gripping her. It’s as if she’s in high school again, eating lunch in the fucking bathroom because it’s better than being surrounded by the kind of friendships she’ll never have.
No. No, she does have those kinds of friendships. Percy is her friend, and these people could be, too. She has to make an effort.
Taking a deep breath, she listens into Vex’s words.
“—come with me down to the shooting range, Percy. It would be fun.”
“You just want to show off.”
“Well, of course. That doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be fun.”
Now or never. Keyleth pushes down her fear and jumps into the conversation. “You like to shoot? Guns?”
Vex grins. “Bow and arrow, actually. I’m quite good.”
“Really? That’s so cool. I tried to go to some archery classes when I was young but I accidentally shot my teacher and he got really mad and I wasn’t allowed back.” Keyleth says in one breath.
“Well, I’d be happy to show you the ropes sometime, dear,” Vex offers.
Keyleth glances at Percy, unsure if the offer is genuine, or if it’s like when people say, ‘we should get coffee sometime’. She’d learned her lesson about the last one more than enough times.
“You were looking for something to do this saturday, right? Perhaps that would be a good time,” Percy offers, encouraging her with a smile.
Vex nods. “If you’d like to, I’d be happy to teach you.”
Keyleth’s hands itch to flap in the air with her happiness, but she forces them to still. Friends. She’s making friends! With Percy’s girlfriend! That’s good, right? “That would be so cool! Should I get a bow? Oh, I really don’t know what kind to get. Are there beginner bows? What about arrows?”
“Oh, for fucks sake, have you already indoctrinated the new girl?” asks the man who must be Vex’s brother, startling all of them with his sudden appearance as he slides into the seat besides his identical sister. If it weren’t for the differences in clothes and hair, they would be impossible to tell apart.
“Shove off, Vax,” Vex huffs, trying to force him off the couch by kicking his back. “We were having a very pleasant conversation, and I don’t want you to ruin it.”
He refuses to budge, settling himself firmly in his seat. “No can do, Stubby. I want to meet Percy’s new best friend.”
Keyleth giggles. Their familiarity with each other is amusing. She’d always wanted a sibling like that. “I’m Keyleth.” She offers a shy wave.
“I’m Vax. Settle a bet for me, would you? Who’s prettier, me or Vex? It’s me, right?”
“Don’t answer that,” Percy cuts in, saving her from a bout of panic, because they’re really so identical that they’re equally pretty, but would they be offended with that answer? “Either answer will give one of you an ego boost, and heaven knows that’s the last thing you need.”
“Perhaps you would be prettier if you didn’t dress so… emo,” Vex snarks, vaguely gesturing at her brother’s fully black outfit, and his smudged eyeliner.
Vax scoffs, even as he wraps an arm around her shoulders and pulls her into his side. “That contributes to the look, sister.”
“Oi, what’s going on over here?” asks yet another new person, this one the short, purple-clad brunette Keyleth had noticed earlier. He’s flanked by the rest of the people in the room. “Are we debating who looks best? Because we all know it’s me.”
“So you think you’re prettier than me?” Says the woman with pale hair tied in two buns, hands on her hips.
Scanlan laughs, but it’s nervous. “Ah. Well. We are… equally pretty?”
She snickers, then turns her attention to Keyleth. “I’m Pike. This is Scanlan, you can ignore him.” Scanlan gasps in offence, but she soldiers on without acknowledging it. “And this is Grog and Taryon.”
Grog is a giant of a man, but his grin is one of the friendliest Keyleth has ever seen. Taryon puffs out his chest and holds out a hand for her to shake. “A pleasure to meet you, Keyleth! Percy has spoken very highly about you, and any friend of his is a friend of mine.”
“Yeah, what he said,” Grog agrees, going for a fist bump.
“I’m Keyleth,” she says, giving both the hand shake and the fist bump. She can’t stop her giddy grin. For the first time in her life, she thinks she’ll get along with these people.
*LINEBREAK*
The get-together lasts until the sun is beginning to peek through the horizon and Keyleth is having trouble keeping her eyes open. Still, she regrets having to leave.
All of them had been so nice, and accepting, and just… amazing. The kind of friends she’d always dreamed of.
“You enjoyed yourself?” Percy asks on their walk home, tone knowing..
Keyleth doesn’t have the energy to berate him for being smug about it. “Mh hm. Your girlfriend is really nice. And the rest of them are, too,” she mumbles, tone slurring with her exhaustion.
It takes her a second to realise that, following her words, Percy had frozen in place, no longer walking with her back to their dorm. “Percy? You okay?” she asks, blinking to remove the sleep from her eyes.
Percy stares at her. Then: “Girlfriend?”
“Yeah, Vex. I mean, you were really cute together, and… um… you two are dating, right?”
He shakes his head. “No. We’re, uh, just friends.”
Keyleth goes stiff. Oh, no, had she really assumed like that? Shit, they just seemed so… cuddly! And romantic! And fuck, now she’s gone and offended him and screwed everything up and—
“Hey, no harm done,” Percy cuts in, noticing her hitched breathing. “Vex is… lovely, and I’m flattered you think she would, ah, court me, but… no, we’re not together.”
Is that a blush on his cheek? An octave jump to his tone? An avoidance of eye contact?
“…right,” Keyleth says, more than a little skeptical. They might not be together, but it’s clear that they like each other. “Sorry.”
He waves off her apology, ignorant to the way even she, the exhausted, autistic girl with no perception of social cues, can see how big of a crush he has. “It’s alright. Let’s just… get back home.”
If she weren’t so ready to fall into bed, she might try to pry more information out of him, but the door to their room is in sight and her exhaustion hits her anew.
Tomorrow, she’ll see if she can play matchmaker. Right now: sleep.

Birthdays aren’t a bummer with you by my side
Tumblr media
Chapter summary: In honor of Leo's birthday I made an excerpt, it can be seen as a stand alone or apart of the Chispo and Bruja series Warnings: Slight angst Word count: 1083
Leo sighed in relief.
The clear blue waves pushed against Piper’s surfboard— that he was temporarily borrowing—making him bob through coast lazily.
The fresh salty air blew through his curls. The seagulls squawked in the distance. And the sun slowly started to sink into the horizon.
It was calm.
The whole day Leo and his friends had a beach day. It was non-stop fun in the sun.
First thing they did was make sandcastles along the shore. Harley and Nyssa had the best one. Annabeth and Hazel were a close second— since the low tide came in and knocked half the castle off.
When it got hot enough they played chicken. Jason and Percy were tag teaming pretty well, lasting about three rounds. Coach called the shots, making sure it was fair game. He declared Reyena and Frank the winners for knocking them down.
Then they played hooky with the waves. Diving into them when they’d come crashing by. Percy lasted the longest underwater—although it wasn’t really fair with him being the son of Poseidon and all. So they called it a tie with Breisa and Nico.
Later as the waves crash in stronger, Piper attempted to teach Jason, Breisa, and Leo how to surf. Of course they all wiped out by just standing on the board. Piper had laughed but encouraged them to keep going. Leo had learned some of the basics, just enough to keep him afloat. He was not confident enough to challenge Poseidon at his own game. Breisa had only been knocked off the board a couple of times. And Jason could not surf for the life of him. But he was cool with that.
Now everyone stood by the bonfire, closer to the shore. They were drying off while roasting hotdogs and eating s’mores. While Will strummed his guitar to classic summer songs, mostly playing reggae. Will wanted to prove they were the best summer songs. He turned out to be right. Everyone looked at ease and either sun kissed or sunburned (sucks for Nico and Jason).
Leo opted to go back into the water to watch the sunset. So here he was.
Everything felt great. He can’t complain.
‘Quit lying to yourself’ His brain grumbled.
Ok maybe everything wasn’t so great.
Because today wasn’t just a casual summer day.
His friends hadn’t spontaneously planned a beach day. It was for a birthday. Leo’s birthday.
They surprise him with this outing. To make up for before. They couldn’t celebrate it because …well demigod business and everything had been stressful on their minds.
Not that Leo minded, he didn’t really pay attention to his birthday. Not since his mom passed.
It wasn’t that he didn’t love his birthday. Just too many painful memories for him to enjoy it.
So every year since her passing, Leo wouldn’t be boasting about it.
But Breisa found out about his birthday. She was bummed that she missed the previous one. So she planned this whole get together.
That’s another reason why he didn’t steer the party away. He was touched by the effort she put in for him.
But it felt weird to be celebrated and given all this attention. He was happy but…Why was he so guilty and not feeling just as excited like everyone else was?
“Needed a minute to get away?” Breisa's voice came from beside him.
He turned to see her swimming up to him.
“Yeah.” Leo answered softly, “Nothing against everyone else. I’ve been having fun and all. Sometimes it’s just—”
“Too much?” Breisa finished.
“Exactly.” He sighed without saying anything more, but Breisa knew better.
“Drachma for your thoughts?” She asked, leaning onto the board.
The waves rocked them up and back gently as Leo tried to place his racing mind together.
“I…I am happy. But it feels weird to be this happy.” He confessed.
“What do you mean, Chispo?” She tilted her head and her wet curls fell over her shoulder. She glowed with magic golden-orange color.
“Like I don’t deserve all this.” He ran his hands through his hair, “I don’t deserve my friends. I don’t deserve this party. Or these gifts. I don’t deserve—” He almost said “you”, but caught himself. “I just…I don’t know why I am feeling like this. It’s my birthday. I shouldn't be feeling weird about being happy.”
Breisa splashed him with water without warning.
“What the hell was that for?!” He sputtered.
“To snap you out of your self-deprecating thoughts.” She huffed, “You put yourself down too much. And I don’t think that’s fair to you at all. You saved the world twice. You saved Jason, Piper, and me an abundance of times. You’re literally a mechanical engineer genius. And all that stuff that happened — we could have never survived without you. Leo, you deserve to be happy. Even if you can’t see it yourself.”
If he wasn’t blushing during her rant, he sure was now.
“Leo hair.” She pointed up to his aflame curls.
He quickly dunked himself in the water. And was embarrassed as he resurfaced.
“Perdón.” Leo muttered while swatting at his hair, making sure it was out. He hesitated but said “Do you really mean all that stuff?”
Breisa hopped onto the board and placed her hand on his, “Por supuesto, chispo.”
Leo smiled with this warmth in his chest. “I dunno what I do without you knocking some sense into me.”
“Probably dropped dead.” She joked.
He snickered, “Don’t sell me short, brujita. I’m a mechanical engineering genius.”
“”Aye dioses.” Breisa shook her head while smiling. “No seas tan galito.”
“You love it.” Leo wagged his eyebrows.
Breisa sighed, “Yes your massive ego is something I find very attractive.” She instantly regretted the words that came out of her mouth.
Leo grinned wide and prideful. “You think I’m attractive.”
She blushed and her magic aura turned a violet pink.“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Huh uh.” Leo hummed, “Then why are you still holding my hand?”
“Shut up.” Breisa didn’t let go of his hand and rested her head on his shoulder.
“Whatever you say, Brujita.” Leo squeezed her hand.
They watched the sun sink low into the night. Then made their way to everyone else for roasted hot dogs, s’mores, and other treats.
Maybe before Leo never got to enjoy his birthday. But with Breisa and everyone by his side—he could make peace with it. He could enjoy and celebrate himself. And maybe that wouldn’t be so bad.

Nervous is an understatement. He feels like he might puke (which is not a good look on your first day) though if the feeling is stemming from relief or anxiety is still unclear. He’s been working towards this for so so long and now that it’s finally actually happening, it almost doesn’t feel real.
So much anticipation and build-up and now that everything is set-up, decorated and the moment has come, the place is empty.
(Though the place does look pretty despite the emptiness with about seven tables set up across the space that’s decorated in accents of different shades of blue and a lot of plants courtesy of Grover who had made up for not being at the opening by showing up a week early to help decorate).
Granted it’s only been a few minutes since they officially opened, and he can’t blame anyone other than himself for the lack of fanfare.
He hadn’t wanted Annabeth’s influence at the start, and though he trusts Miranda (the teen he’d hired as a barista/social media liaison) to promote it well, he’s wondering if he should have done more.
He’d posted on his own private insta account of course but that isn’t going to do much other than his mom commenting how proud she is.  Five minutes after opening without a customer isn’t that great.
“You got 40 likes on the insta post so far,” Miranda calls from her place further down the counter. She looks up from her phone. “You should pay to boost it so more people can see it.”
“You can do that?”
And suddenly he feels woefully unprepared for this whole thing. Maybe it would have been better to do the whole celebratory opening instead of quietly putting up an Open sign.
“I’m just gonna do it and you can add the amount to mu paycheck,” Miranda responds.
He has another brief panic of how he’s going to pay her paycheck if no one even comes in. Hoping his nervousness doesn’t show, he runs a towel down the already clean counter.
Percy’s always been a pretty confident person when it comes to work. He trusts his ability to pick up anything quickly and has a knack for finding odd jobs.
Hell, he had moved to California mostly on a whim and managed to do well at the time he worked at Cali’s.
And though he knows it’s this confidence in his work ability that had led him to opening up his own place, now that he’s here it really does feel a lot different than normal work. There’re more responsibilities. And even Miranda, who’s a part timer, depends on him to do well to get paid.
It’s all stuff he’s known this whole time but to actually feel that weight is different.
And even now, he knows he can handle it. If only he gets the chance, if only people actually start—
The sound of the bell on the door makes him start.
“Not bad Jackson.”
He tries to hide his astonishment as Clarisse and Chris walk in, hand in hand.
“It looks really cool Percy!” Chris echoes, eyes scanning the pretty decent sized space.
“Jackson you can’t look that dorky every time people come into your café, it’s bad customer service, close your mouth,” Clarisse drawls, rolling her eyes before looking up at the menu.
“Are we the first people?” Chris asks excitedly.
Percy smiles. “Well technically Annabeth was the first customer because she walked in with me when I officially opened and ordered a drink to claim her spot, but then she had to rush out for a call.”
Clarisse waves her hand. “Okay so girlfriend aside, we’re the first—”
The sound of the bell violently ringing interrupts their conversation as Jason Grace rushes in, clearly out of breath.
“Damn!” he swears, when he sees Chris and Clarisse on the counter. “And I definitely didn’t beat Annabeth, did I?” he asks, looking at Percy.
Percy can’t help but smile as he shakes his head.
Jason sighs, walking up to get in line behind Chris and Clarisse. “I hate Mark Edwards now,” he mumbles under his breath.

HOME: Book 6 - CHAPTER FIVE
MASTERLIST
When they first boarded the train, the twins had joined Veronica and Charlie in their usual compartment. Not long after the journey began, the trolley witch had passed by, and Veronica had noticed Fred and George eyeing all the tasty treats she had to offer, so she had stepped quietly out into the corridor and bought some of everything. The look on their faces when she came back with her arms full of sweets made her heart sing.
As she sat back down next to Charlie, he whispered, “you didn’t have to do that, Ronnie. I can’t even begin to imagine how much that cost.”
“Well, that look on their faces is priceless, so don’t worry about it.” Before Charlie could continue lecturing her, she stood. “Come on, we’ll be late for our Prefects’ meetings.” Turning to the twins, she said, “Don’t eat that all in one sitting, okay? You’ll be feeling ill in no time. And save some for Percy. We’ll send him over if we see him.”
“Okay!” They responded simultaneously without looking up from the treats.
As they shut the compartment door and began making their way down the corridor towards the Prefects’ compartments, Charlie couldn’t wipe the shocked look off his face. “It never fails to amaze me how much they listen to you. They didn’t even argue with you. If I had said any of that to them, especially the bit about Percy, they would have thrown a fit. How do you do that?”
Veronica chuckled. “Well, for starters, I’m not their brother. They’re automatically hardwired not to listen to you and to push back.”
Charlie shook his head. “No, there must be more to it than that. You’re just as much a sister to them as Ginny is.”
“Yeah, but I don’t try to boss them around the way you, Bill and Percy do. And I don’t treat them like children either. Do you remember what we were like at their age? I’m an only child, but you hated when Bill used the fact that he was older against you. And I hated when Dumbledore would treat me like a child that couldn’t think or fend for itself. So I don’t do that to them, and I think they respect me more because of that.”
Charlie’s eyebrows furrowed as he prepared to argue with her, but Veronica quickly poked her head into a compartment on her right. Charlie could only hear muffled voices before Percy came strolling out into the corridor.
“Oh, hiya Charlie! Which compartment are they in, Veronica?”
“The second from the end on your right.”
“Cool, thanks! See you two later!”
Veronica chuckled as she watched him disappear into the compartment. She could only imagine the chaos she and Charlie would be coming back to after their meetings; she only hoped the Weasley brothers wouldn’t kill each other before then. As the pair continued down the corridor, they finally reached the Prefects’ compartments, and they each joined their respective Houses.
***
The meetings hadn’t lasted long, and before they knew it, Veronica and Charlie were standing in the corridor again. “Do you want to do a quick check of all the compartments before we get back to your brothers?”
“Sure!”
It didn’t take long for them to make their way down the train, and in one of the final compartments, Veronica found Artemis and Felix. Charlie had stopped at a compartment a few doors up to say hello to his Quidditch mates, and it was good that he did, otherwise he would have gotten quite a shock at the sight of the two boys snogging. Veronica kicked the door gently before sliding it open, giving them enough time to pull away from each other and wipe the saliva from their faces as she walked in.
With her arms crossed, she glared at them. “What are you two doing? You know how many students could have seen you as they walked past? Not to mention the trolley witch. You’re just begging to get caught, and with all that crap you keep saying about wanting to keep this a secret, I doubt you’d like that!”
Felix’s face turned bright red, and he quickly hid it in Artemis’ shoulder. Even Art looked embarrassed as he held his hands up in surrender. “Sorry V, but we haven’t seen each other all summer!”
“Yeah, well don’t come complaining to me when you get caught and your secret is out. You’re lucky Charlie stopped at another compartment, or he would have been ahead of me, and he would have been the one to find you.”
Just then, Charlie appeared in the doorway. “Oh, hey guys! It’s great to see you! How was your summer?”
