Hello! Do you have any tips for a scent layering routine and how to always smell clean and fresh? Thank you!
Hi love! Sharing some tips below. Hope these help xx
Scent Layering Tips:
Remember your routine starts in the shower. Use fragrance-free body wash/lotion if you want to ensure they don't mix with any perfume/fragrance mists. Otherwise, test to see whether your favorite scented body wash/lotions complement each other/work together to create your desired scent.
Apply scents from the heaviest to the lightest. Apply your heady perfumes (musky, deeper, spicier, and richer-smelling scents) before your lighter fragrances (brighter floral or citrus scents). Typically, bolder perfume scents have more dynamic and/or deeper base notes (the notes that last on the skin for the longest skin [4-6 hours -once the perfume has "dried down"]. Popular base notes include vanilla, oud, musk, patchouli, sandalwood, cedarwood) and can have common heart notes [actualize around 20-60 minutes after spraying the perfume after the top notes, or initial scent, starts to fade]. Some common heart/middle perfume notes include jasmine, rose, cinnamon, geranium, lavender, black pepper, pine, and lemongrass.
When in doubt, layer two perfumes (and/or scented body products) with the same/overlapping base and/or heart notes. Think a vanilla-scented body lotion with a vanilla-based perfume or scents with vanilla-jasmine notes like Valentino Donna Born in Roma EDP layered with Versace Crystal Noir.
Don't layer two heavy scents together. Think of scents like Tom Ford Black Orchid and Mugler Alien paired together. When combined the smell can be overwhelming and give you a headache. Huda Beauty created a great fragrance scent layering guide (in the hyperlink).
How To Smell Fresh All Day Long:
Shower daily with soap and water under your arms, behind, and on the bikini area (only use water on the inside/your vulva)
Moisturize your skin daily (body hands, face)
Brush your teeth twice a day. Floss at least once a day. Keep a disposable toothbrush or at least some breath mints handy for use throughout the day if needed
Apply an antiperspirant deodorant every morning/before any activity where you think you'll be sweating. Carry around a mini one in your work bag or if you have room for one in your purse if out for several hours at a time on a hot day
Have feminine hygiene wipes and wet wipes on hand to cleanse the downstairs regions as needed
Keep some cleansing wipes/spray to refresh your body/face if you're in a hot/humid climate or are prone to sweating (I like the Pacifica Coconut Milk & Essential Oils Underarm Deodorant Wipes and Evian Facial Spray to freshen up throughout the day)
Change any liners/pads/tampons every 3-4 hours when not asleep
Wear underwear with a cotton gusset daily (lingerie is the exception)
Change your underwear and socks throughout the day
Ensure you're washing your towels and pillowcases at least once a week
Choose breathable fabrics (linen, bamboo, cotton, Tencel, silk, merino wool) in the hot/humid weather or if you're worried about sweating
Keep a rollerball of your go-to perfume to freshen up on your pulse points if needed throughout the day/night

However, it is important to make sure that you keep applying these measures on a regular basis for them to work perfectly. When you have the right approach to skin care, you can make sure to have fresh looking skin all the time over the years. Here are some of the things that can be done to make sure that you have fresh looking skin that is healthy and supple at the same time:
Keep It Clean:
The most basic and important element in keeping your skin fresh is to make sure that you keep it clean. Keeping the surface of your skin clean will help in keeping the pores of the skin from getting clogged, which is what helps keep problems like acne, tanning and more out. This a major reason why keeping the skin clean is the first step to keeping it fresh. You can use methods of cleaning such as washing the face or using cleaning wipes when there is no water available. It is also important to keep your skin free of dirt and makeup when you go to bed.
Work on Problem Solution:
One of the biggest reasons why skin looks dull and unhappy is because it is suffering from issues that need your attention. It is important to make sure that you have the right solutions to nagging skin issues like acne, pigmentation, dry skin, oily skin and more. Having the right solutions to your problems will help you in making sure that you are able to keep your skin healthy as well as fresh and bright.
Think of The Future:
When you want to make sure that your skin remains healthy in the long run and looks fresh all the time, you need to indulge in anti-aging measures as well. When Truffoire Reviews What Drives People to Indulge in Anti-Aging Measures in the Course of Skin Care, a major reason is because people want to experience fresh looking skin. Working on antiaging will help improve the appearance and the feel of your skin in ways that you cannot imagine.
These are some of the ways in which you can keep your skin looking fresh all the time.

Whatever your age, there is always a routine adapted to your skin
No matter what your age, you need to take care of your skin to keep it healthy, vibrant and youthful. Your skin care needs will change the course of your life. Here are my top suggestions and skincare ritual choices for beautiful skin at any age.
Your twenties are a great time to start developing good skin care habits. At 20, a simple regimen of cleansing, toning, exfoliating, moisturizing, and sun protection may be all you need. Add a vitamin C serum to your daily regimen for a preventative measure that will help you avoid free radical damage.
Your life is probably quite hectic in your 30s, whether it's work or family obligations or both. Your eyes are one of the first places to show your fatigue and the first signs of aging. If you don't already have one, invest in a quality gentle eye cream or serum that addresses puffiness, dark circles, and the very first fine lines.
Your 30s are often when you start to see the first signs of aging in the form of fine lines and loss of radiance. To address this, add a vitamin C serum and consider incorporating a retinol product. Also, add a specific nighttime skin care product.
During midlife, your skin can become very sensitive to the sun and you may be prone to hyperpigmentation, in the form of skin discoloration and age spots. Protect your skin by using a high-quality, natural-based SPF30 sunscreen daily, and don't forget your hands, arms, neck, and chest in addition to your face.
Due to hormonal changes, your skin often lacks moisture in your 50s. Double the use of a serum with a moisturizing cream. Hyaluronic acid can help firm the skin and provide much-needed moisture. Remember, it's all about creating a barrier and retaining moisture by using a layer of moisturizing and treating products. You are giving the first product, like the HA serum, a chance to be absorbed before applying the second layer.
If you're 60+, keep it up. A lifetime of healthy skin care habits can result in skin that looks younger than its actual age. But it's never too late to start or improve your commitment to healthy skin. Retinol serum, vitamin C, and hyaluronic acid should be the mainstay of your skin care routine.
True beauty is eternal and timeless because it resides within you. However, you can make that inner beauty shine by taking care of your skin, no matter what decade you live in. It's an action that will continue to pay off throughout your life.

The "best" skin powder can vary depending on individual skin types and preferences.

However, some popular options include mineral powders, setting powders, and translucent powders from brands like Laura Mercier, Maybelline, and BareMinerals. It's essential to consider factors like coverage, finish, and ingredients when choosing the right powder for your skin.

You girlies are sleeping on proactiv, it personally gave me fast results and is quite fun to use. It worked for me but for some reason after like a week of using I had a weird reaction to it so I'm now only using it like once every Monday.
But I still definitely recommend, it may take a while to see results but that's okay, trust the process!!

Not my usual post, but I am desperate.
I have very dry hands that tend to rip and stuff in the winter months (and I always make it worse by picking at the dead skin), and it’s gotten a lot worse when I’m outside because of all the rips. Does anyone have any good lotions for this type of issue? Or any type of ointment? I’ve tried a few lotions and none have helped. 🫠 Thank you in advance!!

Hi! Do you have an easy peasy guide to skincare and hygiene for depressed dummies? 😃
Hi love! Sharing a high-level, basic skincare routine and hygiene tips to follow:
Morning Skincare:
Gentle facial cleanser & water
Vitamin C serum + hyaluronic acid
Facial moisturizer
Sunscreen designed for your face (at least SPF 50 – I think that this La Roche Posay SPF 60 choice is the best option for the money)
Apply sunscreen to your hands, neck, and any parts that will be exposed to the sun (Don't forget to use an SPF lip balm, too!)
Nighttime Skincare:
Remove any makeup (I love these Simple makeup wipes!)
Gentle cleanser
Toner/serums (only use AHAs like glycolic acid or lactic acid and retinol/retinoids at night, using them during the day can increase chances of sunburning)
Facial moisturizer (can be heavier than the one you use during the day, especially in the winter or if you have dry skin)
Spot treatments (if needed)
Eye cream
Skincare Extras:
Exfoliate your face 2-3 times/week (I love the First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads but the CeraVe Renewing Salicylic Acid Cleanser is a great drugstore option!)
Always use disposable cloths instead of a regular towel on your face to reduce bacteria, breakouts, or infections (I love the Clean Skin Club ones!)
Exfoliate your body 2-3 times a week using a dry brush or a scrub (I love the CeraVe Salicylic Acid Body Cleanser, but my favorite is the OUAI Sugar Scrub) and follow it up with a hydrating body moisturizer
Always exfoliate and moisturize before shaving, waxing, or other body hair removal treatments (look up the timeframes for the type of hair removal you choose)
Scrub under your nails daily with antibacterial soap & water and a nail brush
Vaseline is a versatile staple item that can be used as an affordable alternative to an eye cream, cuticle oil, lip balm, or hand cream, and can be used to treat any dry, cracked, or rough patches on the skin
Use a hand lotion and moisturizer on your feet with socks every night before bed
Aloe vera and coconut oil are great skincare staples to keep on hand to soothe burns, irritation, or inflamed skin
Haircare Tips:
Shampoo your skull, condition the rest: Focus shampoo on your roots and work it through your scalp; concentrate conditioner on the ends and work your way up until you reach the base of your skull - around your upper ear lobe
Always comb, never brush, your hair when wet: Gently use a wide-tooth comb, from root to tip, on wet hair to prevent breakage
Use a special towel to dry your hair: My favorite is from Crown Affair (pricey for what it is but worthwhile in the long-term), but a Turbie Twist from the drugstore works infinitely better than a regular towel that weighs down and causes frizzy, damaged hair
Always use a heat protection spray before blow drying or straightening/curling your hair: (Briogeo and Oribe products are my love for all haircare products, including their blowdry creams – also love R +Co. for a heat protection styling mist)
Choose your hair ties wisely: Use seamless or silk hair ties exclusively to prevent breakage or awkward creases on your hair. Wear a silk scrunchie if you prefer. These hair ties from Amazon are my holy grail (only $7 for 100 hair ties!), and they come in a portable ziplock bag
Use dryer sheets to minimize hair frizz and water or Vaseline to slick back fly-aways
Other Hygiene Tips:
Brush teeth, floss, & skincare (2x/day); Get a water pick, too, if you can!
Use a toothbrush cover at all times; Close the toilet seat before flushing
Wash your body towels at least once a week
Wash your pillowcases weekly and sheets at least once every 2 weeks
Throw out and replace your mascara every 2-3 months
Change your underwear and socks daily or more after sweating/working out
For those who menstruate, change your pad or tampon every 3-4 hours
Vulva owners: Use a fragrance-free soap on the outside, only water to clean the inside – no fancy wipes or douching. Wipe front to back!
Wear cotton underwear whenever possible; Find a fabric that breathes
Have a similar buttocks cleansing routine that you do for your face to prevent embarrassing zits or acne
Don't shave between waxes; Use tweezers if necessary a few days after your hair removal treatment
Always wash your hands before touching your face
Hope this helps xx
