I'm super excited to show you a collaboration I've done with amazing @contritecactite for @do-it-with-style-events Mini Reverse Bang!
I've done this stupidly detailed art (I've spend 24 hours of work on this!), for which Contritecactite wrote a wonderful and funny little story.
Crowley and Aziraphale have a long history together. They used to hide it and pretend they were someone else to not get into trouble. But since one Apocalypse that didn't end the way it should, things start to change to be more clear, somehow... Or how Aziraphale smitted one mighty Serpent. Or did he?

The Vampire Knight and The Chivalrous Dragon
Rating: M
Words: 3,493
Chapters: 1 of maybe 3
Sneaking in just before the deadline for @carryon-reverse-bang 2023, I’m so so thrilled to present my artwork and the accompanying first chapter of The Vampire Knight and the Chivalrous Dragon written by the talented @scribble-tier.
My idea was based around the English legend of St George and the dragon- an excuse to live out my dreams of putting Baz into shiny armour to match his glossy hair. Jude ran with it and is giving us a slow burn fic filled with class division, familial obligation and sword fights!
The artwork is only half of the original image I’d intended to create, so the final full piece will be released later on, accompanying whichever chapter feels most appropriate. I can’t wait for you to see the full thing and I’m so excited to read the rest of this story. Thank you @scribble-tier for picking my prompt, it’s been great working with you (: Hope you all enjoy!
Summary:
Basilton Grimm-Pitch is set to be a knight of legend and renown, with a powerful bloodline and training like very few knights before him. But when he's tasked to slay the beast setting fire to the kingdom, he grapples with how to decline without tarnishing his image or going up in flames himself.
And then Simon Snow is one of the missing.
(Tags under the cut)
Big thanks to the lovely supportive folks in the CORB discord, sorry if I’ve missed tagging you, I am terrible at this stuff and have no idea what I’m doing 98% of the time 😅

based on a pen and ink sketch I drew back in 2014 or 2015, I think. I do think the ass-out is funny.

Despina Liapi: St. George ::  My mother, Despina Liapi, is a painter and iconographer. (Small wonder I ended up painting, too; my earlier memories involve her, brush in hand, painting.) This is one of her latest works, an icon of St. George. I can't get over how beautiful it is.

"We do not find our own center; it finds us.  Our own mind will not be able to figure it out."
--Richard Rohr, from "Everything Belongs"
[In the forward to the book, the author writes, "How do you make attractive that which is not?    How do you sell emptiness, vulnerability, and nonsuccess?   How do you talk descent when everything is about ascent?  How can you possibly market letting-go in a capitalist culture?  How do you present Jesus to a Promethean mind?   How do you talk about dying to a church trying to appear perfect?   This is not going to work.  (admitting this might be my first step).]

Thinking about older paintings of St. George And The Dragon.
Like. Imagine, back in the days of yore, you hear about this guy called George from your priest or whatever. He's a knight. George, not the priest. Anyway, this George slayed a dragon. You're impressed. This George guy must be absolutely ripped. It must have been some feat of strength. Then there's Father Frank or whatever. He shows the congregation a painting he commissioned of the fight. The church gets real quite. Everyone is sweating over not to make eye contact with each other, because if they do they're going to laugh. Because there's Father Frank looking so proud. And that dragon George slayed is sheep sized. You and your cousins can man handle such beasties easy as anything come sheering season. And there's George with a sword. A sword! Against a sheep sized lizard. It takes everything in you to not dissolve into giggles by the end of service.
And that, I think, is why in later paintings the dragon is bigger. It's less embarrassing. Amen, etc.
