I think the doctor is interesting as a character bc you actively get to see what makes him the way that he is. Like you get to see every event from season 1 episode 1 to the very last episode that affects and changes him as a person, you WATCH it happen. I don't know if that happens with other artificial beings in Star Trek but I think its so cool cause idk how else you would do that without having a series start when the character was literally a baby and going through their entire life week by week. He is an entire test tube experiment.

genuinely considering posting a complete unredacted tpth summary that includes the visual notes needed to Get a scene but which you probably wouldn't notice on a first read.
It is almost 4 am and i am emotionally fried rn I shouldn't do that.

Story Idea
Okay, so I've been seeing so many new stories of Steve Harrington having powers or him being Finney Blake (both ideas that I love, send me more if you have them), so I want to throw some vague plot ideas and see who picks them in intrest or because they already had a similar idea, but just wanted to know if they had an audience for it because I still can't write dialogue. (Me, I'm your audience, write my little book mice)
1. Steve Harrington has self-healing, but because that's just a constant supply of new fast growth cell, he can focus and give himself extra limbs or accessories that way.
Imagen him playing D&D with the boys and dressing him for the part by giving himself elf ears or horns for a tiefling characters. Imagen him giving his arms and legs long ribbons so he can dance beautifully. Imagen the boys other and justified disgust when he cuts of those parts only for them to bleed because at the end of the day, those were extensions of himself.
2. Imagen him being Finnh Blake, but instead of them finding out through some magic video tape or something (as much as I am in love with those fics that exist), they find out because he's talking to himself one morning and they seem him and think he's going crazy, talking to himself. Only, they look up the names and realize these are real people and unravel the tale.
3. Steve but actually he's Steven Universe that was left on Earth at the start of Era 3 when the gems all left to Homeworld to go fix things there manually and Greg wanted to give him a normal life and had him stay there in Hawkins while he made cash as Sadie's manager. They find out because they've trying to convince a new member (Billy or Eddie, maybe both depending on the ships you like), that monsters are real. The kids have been keeping cameras on themselves since the 1st event to capture the events and see Stev subtly using his powers to help out. Maybe Steve using a bubble to protect himself and Dustin in the tunnels?
4. Steve is Finney Blake, but they find out because Gwen comes to visit after they were separated and he spends a full week only focusing on her (understandable, kidnapped then separated from your younger sister when the two of you were abused? I would be making up for lost time too), and everyone gets jealous only to comfront her when Steve isn't there and she spills some of it and then shenanigans and the rest is discovered.
5. Steve as Finney again, I really like this one, but they find out because Ell is using her powers while at a sleepover at Steve's. She ends up taping into his dreams and they all see him on screen talking to his friends as ghost.
6. Steve and Stevn again, but Ell is also a result of experiments infusing human blood stream with a cluster of gem shards. Steven cries because those are dead members of his court in her, and even though it's not her fault, he feels guilty that they're trapped in her. Also I just really like the mental image of a bunch of pebbles calling Steve "pink mom!" And the kids getting possessive

Yandere Steven Universe x Child! Sibling Reader, Gender Neutral.
Your name is Y/N Universe, you were birthed by Rose Quartz, and was given to Steven for him to protect You.
By the time you were 5 years old, your gem powers were out of your control, but by the help of Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl, they helped you control your gem.
As time went, as you guys fought villains, and many time you were vulnerable as a child, Steven hatched and Clinged onto you, locking you in his room, almost forgetting to feed you, because sometime eating a meal that you specifically created can be dangerous. Corrupted gems are attached to your power, and it can be extremely dangerous if you have use your gem, close to a gem, that has been searching for you, so they can use you for your power and gem.
It was a sunny day, you had just turned 6, and you were sitting on the sand, building a sand castle, you giggled as the sand tickled your legs, Steven watched closely as you played, the water went back and forth from the shore.
You tried to build another structure to be apart of your castle, it fell apart, all of it. Tears pricked your eyes, your lower lip stuck out, Stevn took notice of your situation, "Hey, what happened Y/N?" He asked, "My Castle, broke, and fell apart..." Your voice cracked and wavered as the tears came down and onto the sand, wetting it.
"No, No, No, dont cry.." Steven reassured, but you kept crying, "I am try notto-to, but I can't stop!" You wailed as the tears came out, you then shook your head as Steven attempted to picked you up.
"Get away from me!" You screamed as you crawled away, seeing him through your thick tears, a monster, like he always was to you through the years.
The countless starvation, the slight abuse, the altercations....Steven had caused it, and you were to small to try and to escape from him, only seeing it as that he wants to help you....
You picked yourself up, and ran away to the house, Steven sat on the sand, he orbs flashing red,
"Your mine....." He whispered, as he remembered the bloody scenes he caused, the corpses flashed through his mind...

New method to map the surface of the moon increases accuracy to unprecedented levels Topography: The surface of the moon and rocky planets, Mars in particular, are of huge interest to anyone trying to explore our solar system. The surface must be known in as much detail as possible, for missions to land safely, or for any robotic vessel to drive across the surface. But until now, the methods to analyze images from e.g. orbiting spacecraft have entailed a huge work load and immense computer power – with limited results. A project from now former PHD student at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, Iris Fernandes, has changed that. Studying the limestone formation Stevns Klint in Denmark, she developed a method to interpret shadows in images, so the exact topography can be extracted. The method is even much quicker and less work-intensive. The result is now published Planetary and Space Science 218. Human space exploration entails high levels of safety – so precise images of the terrain are adamant The topography of any surface will create shades, when the sunlight hits it. We can clearly see the shades in the pictures of e.g. the Moon, but we don’t know the elevation of the terrain. So we can see the topography changes, but not how much! It is necessary to be able to see even very small features to ensure safe landing or movement of e.g. a rover. Not to mention the safety of astronauts. If a rover can’t see details, it could get stuck in sand surfaces or hit rocks – and being able to see interesting geological formations to find rich geological environments for research purposes is also of great importance. Former limitations in topography assessment have now been largely eradicated When satellites orbit a planet, they can take pictures in reasonable quality of the surface. But in order to establish an interpretation of the exact topography, good enough for landing the hugely expensive equipment or perhaps even astronauts, a lot of ad hoc information still needs to be processed. The method of using the shades existed before, but it was computationally inefficient, and still had to rely on assumptions. The new method uses a much more direct and precise calculation, it doesn’t rely on a whole set of parameters to be fed into the computer, and it can even calculate the uncertainties and the accuracy. “This method is fast, it is precise and it doesn’t have to rely on any assumptions. Previously”, Iris Fernandes says, “if you posed the question: How precise is the assessment of the topography – there really wasn’t a satisfactory answer. Now the precise topography is revealed, and we can even quantify the uncertainties”. Scientific curiosity can lead you to surprising places “I was involved in a project where we wanted to use pictures from Stevns Klint to model patterns in the surface. I even presented this method in a conference in L.A. But the shades presented a challenge, because the algorithm “saw” the shades as geological features. It created a bias in the model. We needed to find ways to remove the shades, in order to remove the bias. I was always interested in planets, and I knew the surface of the moon was being studied. There aren’t many disturbing features on the Moon, so it was ideal for removing the bias. When we filtered away the shades, we could see what they were “hiding”, so to speak – the surface shapes”, Iris Fernandes explains. Resolution of existing images presented a new problem – and a new approach When work on the Moon started, the discrepancy of the different resolutions in images and the topography data turned out to be tremendous. A new problem appeared, in other words. “How could we combine different sources of data in different resolutions? It presented a huge mathematical problem – and this is really what the study is about. This is where former research had come to a stop. What we did differently than former attempts to solve this, was that we focused on the mathematics and narrowed it down to a challenging mathematical equation. Basically, to see if this equation could solve the problem. And it did”, Iris Fernandes smiles. “You could say that we, my supervisor, Professor Klaus Mosegaard and I, found the mathematical key to a door that had remained closed for many years”. The way forward The focus now is improving the method even more. Wherever there are data available on rock-formation in the solar system, like the Moon, Mars, asteroids or the like, the method can be applied to extract precise topographic details. The images used for this task, can be images from satellites or even the rovers themselves, presently on the ground on Mars - or any mobile robot in the future. The purposes for achieving correct topographic analysis can be different, it could be the safety of the equipment or astronauts or finding geologically interesting sites. There is a wide array of possible applications, in other words. “It is a sort of computer vision thing”, Iris Fernandes says: “When, for instance, a robot has some form of machinery to interact with the environment, the method can help in navigation or the “eye-hand coordination”, because it is less computational “heavy” and thus faster. I’m just speculating now, but an interesting feature could be assessing the roundness of little rocks, in order to find former presence of water. The method shows data for us as humans in a way that we understand intuitively – like images of the roundness of stones, which is very easy to interpret”. IMAGE....It is obvious from the picture that the surface of the Moon is anything but even. The changes in the topography reveal themselves in the shadows and light. But it is not immediately possible to see how much it changes. How deep are the craters, and how does it look if we need to go into even more detail? Credit: NASA/JPL
