#mei rambles #story time in the tags #when I was in HS my mom moved me into an all girls school now I sat next to this girl who was the friend of my best friend #so I was like yeah let me help you with math and all other subjects I was a smart nerd THEN #and somehow we became the class mandated otp like short fluffy nerd girl tall lanky sports girl ship and she asked me out #but me being 14 years old in my gay catholic repression era told her no she shouldn't do this just cause we are the class mandated otp #so now fast forward like maybe 7 years later I tell my friend about the confession I got and she was like GIRL OMG HOW COULD YOU THAT GIRL #IS THE DAUGHTER OF THE RICH FAMILY IN OUR CITY WHAT THE HELL GIRL #and I'm like huh WDYM she's whooo????? #and then I was so glad I didn't die or anything from that #second one was in college we had this groupwork video presentation now I was doing the editing and asked them to dub the video #but one of the main cast didn't dub properly and there's so much background noises I was so mad I made her re-do it again in the girls #comfort room in our uni AND THEN like maybe 5 years later my friend is like hey remember our classmate she just got married to a soldier #and then she drops the bomb that this girl is a general's daughter #and last was just recently so our uni org holds debate auditions in a applicant vs. all panelists scenario. now this one applicant was #trying to use accounting technicalities to try and argue his way through even though his argument sucks #my non-accounting org mates in lawschool couldn't really argue on that so I had to step in and point out the flaw in his approach #and now I learn dude is the son of a mayor and is rich af #idk how I'm alive

The perfect (or near-perfect) way to end a snowy, cold day of having to work inside and then shovel snow outside is to snuggle up in a warm blanket, drink a mug of sweet hot chocolate with whipped cream, and read a bunch of fluffy fics featuring snow. 10000% recommend.

Danny was a stillborn, and Maddie made a deal with a Devil to give her baby a soul so he could live.

But the Devil couldn't really like, make a wholeass new soul for this. He could grab one of the ones he owned, but that'd just be putting an adult in an infants body, and that whole thought kind of weirded the Devil out.

So, he compromised.

He had a piece of the Laughing Magicians soul, and he just kinda.

Shoved that into the baby corpse.

And holy shit it worked, the kid took it.

Which, awesome! He gets the lady's soul and the kids when it's matured!

Except that was fifteen years ago, and now said Devil is desperately trying to get into contact with Constantine to cancel the deal they signed and agreed to.

Cuz that little baby?

Yeah he's the High King of the fucking Infinite Realms; a being that can not only cancel said contract, but do it and declare the Devil who made it guilty of Treason.

So he needs to find the Laughing Magician fucking yesterday, before the kid looks too closely at why his soul is so weird and figures it out.

once again thinking about jason as duke’s robin. he’s ~4 years younger than jason, and that’s puts him at 8-12 during Jason’s time as robin. that’s prime time to get attached to your local kid vigilante before your own life goes downhill.

and if we try to keep duke’s meeting with bruce in zero year + duke’s age (so he can remember the meeting and hold that conversation with bruce), he has to be around 8. if he starts following batman through the news at that time because of the mess that just happened, the robin he sees is probably jason. I’ve literally connected the dots

Ohhh, I'm rereading Mystra's entry in the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide... and this detail:

This means Gale was punished for trying to restore and preserve what he thought was a lost piece of Mystra's magic. Gale being Mystra's ex-lover put aside. He as her follower, she his goddess, was punished for attempting to do the one foundational rule of her faith.

I'm seething and so sad at the same time.

Edit: I used the word punish loosely, as in, toxic/abusive people will take any small mistake or action and twist it into something they can take advantage of. This post was also largely from the stand point of a toxic deity rather than a toxic partner, but both takes are valid here. Especially with the, “you didn’t stay compliant so now I’m giving you the silent treatment” part of it—from a god and a partner perspective.
