“Darling come here, let me rub this on you before you swim around.” You hummed, from under an umbrella stuck into the sand, shielding your eyes from the harsh sun.
“Yes, dear.” He replied, making his way over to you. The heat was getting to the man, his cheeks already flushing a bright pink.
His only goal right now was to hop in the water to cool down and perhaps dive under the water to gift his love, you, a pretty shell.
You rubbed him down in sunscreen, shaking your head when you saw that his little walk in the sun already started to lightly sunburn his shoulders.
“Redheads.” You sighed in your head.
Once you were sure you all but dowsed him in the whole bottle of sunscreen you turned him around to place a kiss on his plush lips.
“All done, enjoy the water.” You smiled, and sent him off with a wink.
***
Later that day when the sun was dropping low between the sky and making everything pink and orange hued.
You gasped at the sight of his body. “How? You called you back for more sunscreen every two hours!”
You eyed your red haired and now lobster red husband.
You tutted your lips and walked your way home so you could make him soak in a cool bath. Once you both settled in the bath you had your arms wrapped around him.
You were pouting into his red shoulder. Feeling you had failed him.
“It’s not your fault. I blame my father for my predicament.” He said, tilting his head back to drop a kiss on your head.
You laughed at his comment, shaking your head. “Yes, let’s blame your dad for your fragile skin.”
“It’s settled then.” He blinked his eyes closed, “Did you like the shell I got you?”
He had gifted you a soft pink shell that had a stunning spiral of purple and blue.
“Stunning.” You hummed sinking into the water the water with him, “thank you.”
“Anything for my dear.”

Soft Steddie summertime ficlet. Pure fluff. ~1700 words. No ratings or warnings.
Twitter got it first but tumblr got spellchecked 😹
One of Steve’s favourite things to do on a hot summer morning, was to stay in bed.
It was his own little form of rebellion. After years of being forced to get up at the crack of dawn to ‘not waste the weather!’ as a kid, he loved nothing more as an adult than to listen to the bird song through the window, muffled by the closed drapes.
He wasn’t always able to break the habit of a lifetime. He spent a long time after his parents stopped coming home still hauling himself up with the sun and berating himself into doing something that was worthy of the good day.
Some people didn’t have the luxury of getting up and going out to enjoy a hot day, so he should just be grateful. He spent more days than he could count sitting at the edge of the quarry, watching the gang play in the water. They loved it when Steve called to see if they wanted to do something for the day. They’d still be half asleep whereas he would’ve been awake for hours, waiting for a reasonable time to pick up the phone.
He would sit with a hot coffee, another little ‘fuck you’ to his mother. He loved warm drinks on sunny days, the way the extra heat made the tip of his nose prickle. His mother insisted he only ever have the awful homemade lemonade she never made sweet enough and steeped the peels in for too long. It was bitter enough to make Steve gag if he didn’t brace himself properly for it.
It wasn’t until the arrival of Eddie Munson that things started to shift for Steve.
He noticed it for the first time when, at one of the many quarry days, Eddie stole a long mouthful of Steve’s coffee before lighting a cigarette and settling down onto the rocky beach next to him.
“Fuck that’s good,” muttered Eddie, wiping a stray drop from his chin.
Steve stared in half-disbelief. Everyone made fun of his little thermos before now.
Steve felt a familiar flutter in his chest.
He’d been ignoring it up until now, convincing himself it was nothing because how could it be, they had nothing in common? Surviving a bizarre mind wizard’s attempt to end the world doesn’t exactly count as a ‘shared interest’.
Steve tested the waters slowly throughout the rest of the day. Nothing too crazy, nothing too deep. Just to see how close to his own opinions Eddie’s answers would land.
“Ed, I’m gonna do an ice cream run. Whats your favourite?”
“Anything lemon lime, man, thanks”
Steve’s favourite was the lemon lime popsicle.
“I got some snacks too, here, which one do you want?”
“Oh shit is that a Baby Ruth? I’m taking that, fuck the kids”
Steve had bought himself that same candy bar.
But Steve shook himself off again because come on, really? They were like, the two most popular things out there.
Only when the kids emerged from the water for their lunch did Steve see a little more of what they had in common.
There were pouts all round when the rules of an on-the-spot game were in dispute.
Voices spoke over each other to get the adults to agree that they were right and their rules were the ones that should be followed.
Steve sighed and prepared himself. Of course, the only options were to either find a new game entirely, or figure out the rules again together as group, right from the beginning.
Steve was used to being fought every step of the way on things like this. Robin and Nancy would make unhelpful comments in jest, and Steve would end up the bad guy for at least two of the gang.
He was about to open his mouth to propose his solution, when Eddie beat him to it.
“So find another fuckin’ game?”
Eddie said it so easily, licking melted popsicle juice from the side of his hand.
“But-!” The protests came immediately. Steve readied himself to dive in.
But Eddie spoke first again.
“If you can’t agree on this one, find another one,” he said firmly. “You wanna sit out here and talk about rules for an hour until its all straightened out?”
Heads shook.
“Didn’t think so. Now fuck off, you’re in my sun,”
Steve watched with wide eyes as the kids, who were really almost college aged by now, went happily back to the water.
“How did you do that?” asked Steve.
“Do what?”
“Make them listen!”
Eddie laughed.
“They had two options, they picked one, simple,” said Eddie with a shrug.
Steve watched Eddie carefully, waiting for more of an explanation that never came.
“What, you had a different solution?” asked Eddie.
Steve shook his head.
“Thats exactly what I was going to say,” said Steve, looking out to the water where they were playing together merrily.
“We good?” asked Eddie slowly, tipping his head to the side.
“Yeah, yeah!” said Steve quickly, realising he’d been staring. “Not used to having someone on my side when they start fighting, thats all,”
Eddie hummed and went back to his candy, occassionally stealing more of Steve’s coffee.
When the sun was finally lowering in the sky and the water was getting that little bit too cool to be enjoyable, Steve and Eddie shared the last cigarette in the pack while everyone else towelled off and gathered their stuff.
“So what, uh…” started Steve. “What would you usually do on a day like this? Or is this your thing?”
Steve was curious if all the little shared enjoyments and opinions of the day would continue. If it would amount to the thing at the top of Steve’s list, that he’d been bred to believe as ‘shameful’.
Eddie hummed around the butt of their cigarette before passing it back to Steve, giving him the last drag.
“Big plans for days like this, Harrington,” said Eddie, stretching out and resting back on his elbows.
Steve felt his stomach twist. He’d gotten it wrong. That was fine. It wasn’t a big deal. Steve was used to thinking he’d found someone he could be himself around and then realising he was wrong.
“I would’ve stayed in bed all damn day,” said Eddie, smiling softly up at the sky.
Wait. What?
“You…bed?” stuttered Steve. “Seriously?”
Eddie rolled his eyes and snorted.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” mumbled Eddie. “Don’t waste the day or whatever. You ever stayed in a dark room when its sunny out? Life changing, man. Ultimate relaxation knowing you’re choosing comfort over convention. Trust me,”
Steve was stunned.
“I…I was thinking the same,” admitted Steve.
“It’s nice,” he muttered, not looking up at Eddie and feeling embarrassed somehow. “I like listening to the, um, to the birds, you know? But still being in bed,”
Eddie nodded his head.
“I totally get it,” agreed Eddie, smiling wide. Steve’s chest felt like it was about to burst when they made eye contact.
“Wonder what else we have in common,” said Eddie coyly, leaning in to knock his shoulder against Steve’s hip.
They found out later that night that they both liked a lot of the same things.
They liked how each other sounded when they giggled softly through their first kiss, sitting on the roof of Eddie’s trailer and watching the stars.
They found out they both liked teasing fingertips and gentle pushing and pulling in the right direction.
They found out they both liked to sleep holding hands to ground them against the anxiety that still plagued their little group.
They liked the bubble they created between themselves, and filled it quickly with love.
And now, late into the morning of a blazing hot mid summer day. The phone off the hook since the night before and the walkies designated for emergency use only.
They were lying together, curled up and bordering on too hot under the blanket, listening to the birds.
They listened as the rest of the neighbourhood woke up and spurred to life, cars starting and families yelling.
It was a few weeks since that day at the quarry.
Steve and Eddie had spent every night and most of every day together. They agreed on everything. Well, except pizza toppings, but Eddie would eat all the olives so it was fine. Steve’s dad had once told him that in a business if two people agree on everything, you don’t need to keep them both around.
Steve wrapped his arms tighter around Eddie and said a silent prayer that he never tried to treat a relationship like a business. That was his parents’ mistake, he thought.
It was all very new. Some people still didn’t know the true nature of their increased ‘sleepovers’, but Steve was already aghast at the idea of being without Eddie again.
He knew they’d argue eventually. They’d find a tipping point on something that they wouldn’t see eye to eye on. Steve was ready for that day. He didn’t want to think of them ever fighting but he was realistic. Steve just knew he would never make the same mistakes as his parents did, and he’d do everything he could come out the other side with his Eddie still under his arm.
Eddie stirred fully awake when a car horn blared from down the street.
“Mmmmph!” he whined. “They scared the fucking birds away,”
Steve smiled and pressed a kiss to Eddie’s forehead. Eddie sighed and nuzzled in closer, settling himself in Steve’s neck with a contented hum.
“We doin’ anything today?” murmered Eddie.
Steve stroked his back in long, slow waves.
“Just this,” he whispered.
Eddie nodded, and his body soon went lax as he he drifted back to sleep.
Steve felt like crying, in fact he thought he might. He closed his eyes and rubbed his nose into Eddie’s hair. Steve was almost surprised at the overwhelming wave of contentment that crashed over him.
Years spent feeling guilt for not ‘enjoying the sun’ were slowly ebbing away. How could he feel bad over what he was doing now? How could the love, and safety he felt now, be bad?
Steve selfishly thought he would sacrifice ever seeing the sun again, if every morning was like this.
And it had been, hadn’t it? For weeks now. Steve woke up feeling just like this, for weeks.
Steve smiled to himself and tightened his hold on Eddie’s body. He felt a tear slide down his cheek as he settled himself into his pillow.
The birds returned and resumed their song.
And for hours, Steve listened.

Headcanons on going to the beach with Junkrat
AN: I haven't written in awhile so I decided for some short headcanons for my boy Junkrat. I might add more in the future
Warning: only a tiny mention of nsfw but it's really small
- The two of you rarely go to the beach and when you do it's always as far away from people as possible
- You both like your privacy because one, Jamieson is kinda of a wanted criminal (along with you) and two, the both of you can enjoy being yourselves without others staring and judging
- Junkrat having absolutely no clue how to swim and you teaching him
- Igniting bombs under the sand to make a giant whole instead of digging
- Jamison running around the whole beach and bringing you the most beautiful seashells
- You giving him a kiss every time he comes back with more
- Him resting his head on your stomach as you both lay underneath a beach umbrella
- Him trying to chase you in the water but you are way more experienced in swimming so you without difficulty swim away
- You diving down and swimming behind him to scare Jamison out
- Definitely making at least one sandcastle where you put little dried wood pieces all over the place and light it up making it look like the place is on fire
- If you two spot anyone in the distance, you both make sure to be extra loud and more graphic about how you're going to commit certain crimes
- That has always worked like a charm. No matter what person or people sped walked away and you guys never saw them again
- Having a waterproof arm and leg custom made for Jamieson so he has an easier time swimming and moving in the water
- Diving down and picking up random things for the sea bed and Junkrat being completely amazing at how deep and long you can go/stay underwater
- Helping Junkrat put suncream on his back and after he's covered fully you give him a few pecks on the lips
- The both of you making out your towel as the sun is going down which leads to a bit of more spicy touching but nothing too much
- The rest is left for when they got back to their home
- Blowing up the sand castle with a stick of dynamite while laughing like crazy together
- Making a giant bonfire in the evening and roasting some meat on it for supper
- Definitely another makeout sesh next to the fire
- Mako picking you guys up after you decided to go back home
- Having a joined bath to wash away all the salt water

Wedding Season
Tumblr media
The sweet tang of champagne lingered on the breeze. Strangers laughed and danced. The setting sun kissed the skies pink. Satin and taffeta draped over every curve, every seat, every brick and stone. Officially, it's wedding season. 🥂💍
This is my summer celebration!!! I was inspired by a few writers on this site who are doing season-long fic celebrations, and I knew I had to get on board. How better than with a set of angsty and steamy fics about the ups and downs of wedding season!?
The Fics:
A French Affair • Robin x Harrington!Reader • The south of France was an idyllic location for any wedding, and it's made even better when you arrive early and meet a beautiful girl at a night club. Only, when your cousin introduces you to his best friend the next day, you realize your one-night fling might have become a sticky situation. Coming 6/22
Have Mercy • Rockstar!Eddie x Reader • A look back on the events that led to your perfect Little White Chapel wedding to the man of your dreams.
Friend or Faux • Nancy x Reader • When investigative journalist Nancy Wheeler gets handed a fluff piece about wedding season, she does her damndest to find the seedy side of the industry. Only problem is, she needs a fiancée. That's where you come in.
Sabrina • Steve x Reader • Your father was his chauffeur for your entire life, and you watched all the galas and events from the tree outside. One year, during an extravagant wedding, you’re caught by the neighbor boy of your dreams.
.

Heatwave
Howdy giggle sprites! Inspiration has hit me and I’ve been writing! Got a little something to share with you!  Summers getting hot in the pizzaplex and celestial jester bros gotta find a way to cool down their adoptive floof covered dragon momma!  Contains: Mentions of tickles (no actual t scenes this go round sorry lol), fluff, sweetness, familial love, helpful friends and some of my own original characters! Enjoy~
*******************************************************************************************   “...Thankfully, it seemed no one was harmed in the collapse and everyone managed to get out of the building safely. In other news, it seems we’re getting quite the heatwave this summer!”  “You’d be correct, Jane! High temperatures are coming in as we are quickly climbing into the low and mid 90s, the high today being 95 degrees, but what’s even worse is that humidity which will be bringing us a toasty feel of 101 degrees. I suggest staying indoors during peak hours or at the very least layer that sunscreen. Thunderstorms will come later in the week–” “Since when do you watch the news?” Sundrop asked as he carried an armful of toys back to their spot. Moondrop turned to his brother and gave a shrug before turning it off. “Just curious what was going on today. Humans are so depressing with their news though…” He stood and stretched his joints. The day was over thankfully and it was a long one too…they couldn’t even take the little ones outside. Nor could they even have a proper naptime. The air conditioning in the daycare was…not working to say the least. While it didn’t affect the animatronics much with their inner cooling systems, it was uncomfortably warm in that section of the plaza and all day the poor kids were cranky and miserable. The celestial jesters did their best but unfortunately there was only so much animatronics could do during a heatwave.  They spent most of the day braiding young girls' hair to help them stay cool, Sunny would spin his rays like a fan and let the kids feel the air blowing. Moon tried to keep them distracted with puppet shows and stories since trying naptime was a complete failure. The kids couldn’t stay asleep, being too uncomfortable with their bodies sticking to the matts.  Moon fixed his hat and straightened his bowtie as he turned his attention to his humming brother. “Done then?”  “Hmmmm….” Sun straightened out a little Freddy plush and gave a giggly hum of victory now that his OCD was satisfied. “Yup!!” “Good, let’s go see how mom’s doing. I haven’t even seen a whisker of her peeking out today..” Moon hooked his wire to his back and held an arm out to Sun. Once his counterpart was holding on tightly, they flew up into the air and to the rafters where their mother was usually hiding out. When they got there however, the sight before them worried them. Their draconic canine mother was panting heavily, ears flat out, wings lifted slightly above her as if trying to let air pass through them. Her fur was disheveled and falling off in a few places. In short…she was a mess. Sunny squeaked and rushed over to sit in front of her muzzle. “M-mom?! Mama!! Are you okay?!” Ana pulled in her black and pink spotted forked tongue, lifting her head weakly. “Oh hey boys…I’m fine it’s just…a little hot. Fur and heat don’t necessarily work well together…” Her eyes went wide for a moment and she immediately lifted a hind leg in order to try to scratch a spot behind her head. “Grr…and if that ain’t enough, I shed so much and my skin gets so dry and itchy in the summer!” She huffed, laying her head back down as the itch was relieved…for now. “It leaves yer momma a bit…well…cranky…” The boys frowned before looking at each other and nodding. Sun laid in front of her and spun his rays to blow air into her face. Moon climbed up on her back and activated his claws that normally went along with his security system. He then started to scratch around her shoulders and the back of her neck. “Look mom, I’m your biggest fan…!” Sunny tried to joke, with a weak smile. He knew his mother wasn’t really in the best of moods, but he wanted to help! It made his smile grow when Ana gave a small chuckle, her muscles relaxing underneath the scratching. “You’re much too good to me, babies.” She lifted her head to give her lil firefly a lick on the nose, getting a giggle from him in the process.  “We’re sorry it’s so hot mom…” Moon apologized despite knowing it wasn’t his or Sun’s fault. Ana shook her head. “You don’t control the weather, sugarstars. I’m used to dealing with my fur in the summer heat…I just need to find other ways to stay cool is all…” “How do you normally cool off?” Sun asked, his rays blowing back small strands of his momma’s hair and her whiskers. “I’d go for a swim…but unfortunately can’t do that much here without bringing too much attention to myself…and who knows how clean the nearest lake is if it’s so close to humanity…” The dragon shook her head. Her boys knew she wasn’t fond of humans…She had her reasons but, it wasn’t something she talked about often.  “Well…What about Monty Golf! There’s water in there!” Sun offered with a grin. Moon looked over his mothers head. “I’m not sure that’s such a good idea Sunny...” His calmer half shot down gently. “Lot of people like to throw their trash in that water and then there’s the machinery that keeps things flowing in there.” “Oh…right…” “It’s alright boys…I’ll make do. Summer doesn’t last forever.” Sun sighed, dejected. Moon played with his mothers hair absentmindedly…it was so long…so was all her fur. He got an idea. “How about a haircut?” “What?” Both Ana and Sun asked, looking back at him. “I know some humans cut their hair in the summer to keep cool, we can do the same for mom!” Ana seemed a bit…uncertain at that notion. “I don’t know, Moonlight…I don’t even remember the last time I cut my hair…and I rather not end up looking like a poodle.” “Well…we could ask Regina, Chica and Roxanne? They know things about styling.” Moon offered.  “But they don’t know about mom, Moon…what if they panic? And-and she gets taken away!” Sun hugged Ana’s snout with a scared whimper, hating the mere thought of losing the only mother figure they’ve ever had. Ana licked and nuzzled her anxious pup to calm him down again. “I don’t think any of them would do that Sunny.” Moon assured, though deep down he was worried about their mother being taken away…humans didn’t react well to things like dragons, especially not a dragon dog. Ana sighed a bit. “Well…maybe introduce them slowly and gently. Get them prepared for what’s coming. I won’t lie, as fishy as I am about this I wouldn’t mind feeling a bit cooler this summer.” Moon gave a nod. “Sun, why don’t you go get the girls? Tell them to meet us in the employee showers.” He slid down off of his mothers back and looked up at her. “Are you able to transform mom?” Ana shook her head. Usually with her magic she was able to turn into a cat or a ferret to appear a little more inconspicuous around the Pizzaplex. Always being claimed as Sun and Moon’s emotional support animal. But magic took energy. “No…sorry honey. The heat has drained me.” Moon gave a sigh. “It’s okay…That’ll make it harder but…I know the security cameras’ blind spots. Just stay close and we’ll move as quickly and quietly as possible.” Their plan was set into action. Moon led Ana through backways to avoid cameras to the employee showers, where some of the human staff would freshen up should they so need to. With the plaza being closed, it was free and empty. Ana lowered her head walk through the just barely tall enough twisting hall into the showers and waited. Moon stood outside it, waiting for Sun to come back with the girls. He was nervous of course…His arms held to his body as he walked instead of his usual skipping. There was no telling how they would react… Regina Lioness smiled at the brothers, Roxanne Wolf had a hand on her hip, squinting at the boys. Chica however just seemed to sway to the music playing through the plex. “Hello Moon, sweetie.” Regina greeted. “Sun said you boys needed our help with something?” “Y-yes we just…need you three to keep an open mind?” Roxy raised a brow at her little brothers. “About?” “Yea what’s got you so scared?” Chica asked with slight worry to her tone. The boys looked at each other and nodded. “We uh…been keeping something from everyone but…she needs help now…” Sun gulped, tapping his two index fingers together. “...She?” The trio questioned. “Our mother…” Moon answered as he gestured to the bathroom. “Our…dragon mother…” ……..Roxy and Chica laughed, though Regina stayed quiet. “Pfft! C-cmahan you two, quit playing around! We’re not your daycare kids.” “Heehee! But if you really wanted to play pretend, all you had to do was ask!” “Ladies.” Regina stated firmly, showing all the command of a queen. She gave the boys a soft look. “This isn’t pretend clearly…Sun and Moon wouldn’t be so distraught if this was just a game.” “Come on, Regi! A dragon? There’s no such thing!” Roxanne huffed. She loved Sun and Moon, they were her little brothers after all. But she stayed out of their pretend games. “There’s more to the world than what you see at the end of your nose, dear.” The lioness stated. She looked toward the brothers and smiled before she made her way into the showers. Seeing Ana in there still caused Regina to stop and stare. Ana stared back. Sea Green eyes staring back at violet eyes. Ana shifted her eyes, the situation only got more awkward when Roxy and Chica entered. Ana pinned her ears as Chica let out a squawk. “BAKAWK!” “Holy shi-” “Language!” Sun reprimanded. “Uh..ladies…this is our mother. Ana.” Moon introduced awkwardly. More silence. Even Ana didn’t seem too sure what to say. “My…” Regina spoke finally. Her voice was laced with awe. “I’ve never in my days thought I’d see a dragon up close…or even outside a story book! You are quite beautiful, sweetie.” Ana blushed at that. She was never good at accepting compliments or praise. “Uhm…thank you…” “Your boys mentioned you needing help? It must be serious if they were so worried about showing you to us.” Ana looked at her pups and let out a sigh. “It’s not…that serious. I’ve just been too hot and my fur doesn’t help.” The lioness nodded, scanning the dragon's pelt. She noticed some fur just resting in clumps. Regina hummed. “Well it seems quite serious to me dear! After all, you could get a bad case of heat stroke or dehydration! And then no one but a vet would be able to help you. I highly doubt the three of you would want that.” Ana blinked, even Sun and Moon looked a bit surprised, clearly none of them thought of that… Regina turned around suddenly. “Girls, I need two pairs of scissors, one smaller than the other, a comb, a brush, and an electric razor!” “For what?” Roxy asked, squinting at the African lioness. “This dragon is in desperate need of a haircut. Come on, it wouldn’t be wise to waste time.” Sun and Moon breathed a sigh of relief, glad Regina was so willing to help and ready to take charge. They watched Regina shoo the two out of the room. She then took off a shower head and brought it as far as it could go. “Now dear, let’s dampen up this beautiful fur of yours.” She lowered her voice with a smirk. “I promise I won’t cut it too short…” Ana stared at her…and smiled. Something that shocked her boys, Ana never trusted easily. So to see her so much as smile at someone new was a good thing, if not a great thing! “Thank you.” Regina went to work. She sprayed Ana down with the hose, being as respectful of the dragon's boundaries as possible. She was a heavy mass by the time she was fully drenched. And the surprises kept coming, Ana let Regina scrub her fur and mane, which took care of the itching. Though Ana didn’t allow the lion to go near her belly…the boys knew their mother was ticklish and never let anyone she didn’t fully trust near her stomach. The fact Regina could touch her at all was enough. Ana was rinsed again. Roxy had brought a hair dryer and did what she could with it. Then the cutting began. First Regina began shaving fur along Ana’s body, shortening it up. Reluctantly, Ana let her shave around her stomach and did her best to stay still, focusing her energy into her breathing and flicking her ears around to avoid twitching. Her tail tip was shortened and her mane was trimmed up and cut to be much shorter, Chica even tied it up in a bun with a pretty little ribbon.  And by the time it was all said and done, Ana was a clean new dragon. The most fur she had was on her chest, a bit of poof for her boys to still cuddle up to. “How do you feel dear?” Ana looked over herself, doing a little spin and looking at her hair in the mirror. She hummed. “Lighter. Definitely cooler…I think I like this.” Sun bounced on his toes and clapped his hands, running up and hugging his momma. “You look so pretty!!” “Is it better?” Moon asked with a smile. Ana chuckled, hugging her Sunbun and leaning down to lick her Moonpie. “Much better…Thank you boys. And you girls too.” “Don’t mention it.” Roxy dismissed, carrying the supplies off. “Happy to help miss dragon~! Hope your summer is much cooler!” Regina gave a bow. “You three don’t be afraid to come to us now. I will certainly be more than glad to lend a paw.” Ana gave a nod and a smile. “Uh..about the amount of fur?” “The staff bots will clean it. They don’t question anything.” That relaxed the misfit family. Good. “You…won’t tell anyone?” Moon swallowed nervously. Regina smiled, drawing her fingers over her lips. “Your secret is safe with us dears. Have a good rest of your night.” Regina left then. Sun and Moon sighed, all the anxieties melting away. Ana licked both her boys. “Well…I’m not sure about you two, but I could use some sleep.” Sun squished his mom’s face with a bunny kiss while Moon hugged around her neck. They headed back to the daycare back the way they came to avoid cameras and to get some rest after the long hot day. Hopefully now the summer won't be as bad.

summer camp. Kwon Soonyoung
pairing: boyfriend! hoshi x reader
summary: you wake up next to your boyfriend soonyong, his skin shining like glass and his freshly died hair. Loud and killing hot, the summer camp where you two work has taken out all of your energy. The bedsheets are hot and almost humid from the heat of your bodies, a quick shower is very much needed. What about the both of you jump under the cold water?
word count: 1,4k
contains: some cute domestic situationship! a bit of body and intimacy descriptions but nothing smutty i promise. just him being a kind and clingy boyfriend//
The children in the next row were bickering and already running around at dusk. They were fighting with swords, which were just old sticks, and splashing each other with the garden hoses, despite the heat wave and the lack of water.
Their shouts and laughter woke me up, and I opened my eyes, blinded by the light coming through the plastic veranda of the camper I shared with Soonyoung. My boyfriend, who was sound asleep next to me on the fold-out bed.
His bleached blond hair was scattered in all directions on the pillow and his bare arms, like the rest of his body, were folded lasciviously over his head. His fair, unblemished skin was no longer covered by the canvas blanket and the sunlight shone on his naked body.
I watched him sleeping quietly, a smile on my lips as I thought about our lovemaking the night before.
Soonyoung and I work at a summer camp during the summer vacations and he takes care of the teenagers while I take care of the younger ones, aged 5 to 10.
Our days are very long and tiring, and it is only during the quick minutes when the camps cross that we can see each other.
Otherwise, we start our days at dusk and end them after dawn.
Teams of leaders divide up the work, so we don't have to stay up all night preparing for the next day's activities, or going to the fifth grade.
Even so, we come back to the camp late, completely exhausted and tired from taking care of over-excited and tireless children.
We work in this camp every summer to finance our studies and our future projects of professional life or couple.
Soonyoung would like to be an educator because he has a talent for talking to children and I would like to be an elementary school teacher or a home care counselor. We have found each other, that's the case to say it.
Today is day off, and after this series of endless days, there is nothing that makes us happier.
Last night we took advantage of it, not having an alarm clock set for the next day.
Our embraces and caresses ended up exhausting us for good and we let ourselves fall on the mattresses. The starlight was shining weakly through the skylight in the ceiling and created a very pleasant atmosphere. "thank you Soonyoung … it was perfect" I turn to look at him and fall on his face which smiles me peacefully
"Thank you too, for being with me and loving me as I love you. You're the best." His smile is clearer than ever and a glint of fierce love shines in his eyes. "I love you Soonyoung"
I get closer to him and kiss him tenderly. His hand slips into my hair while the other passes in the hollow of my back to bring me closer to him. He embraces me so that we make only one and we fall asleep.
The eyelids of the blond flicker and his lips form a small adorable mimic. He opens an eye then the other and his glance settles on the naked girl at his side who looked at him sleeping ."Good morning" he said while straightening up and looking lovingly at her.
Their smiles are so communicative and so peaceful. They are intended only for them and nobody else.
"a brand new day is about to start..." he continues.
He is gratified by a grimace and a raised eyebrow. "I swear … they exhaust me so much that they will end up killing me …"
He smiles and pinches her cheek. "We start in an hour."
He bends his legs and pulls himself out of the folding bed. He puts on his boxer which dragged on the ground and passes his hand in his dishevelled hair; history to put them in order. "Get dressed, I take care of the breakfast." The blond stretches and moves towards the small fitted out kitchen and takes out cereals and rusks of a cupboard. I pull myself out of bed with a grunt and dress in a much too large t-shirt . I walked over to the small table where two chairs were waiting for us and sat down. "Can you put the water on to boil, please?" I asked
"Of course sweetheart." He held me back and immediately pressed the button on the kettle. He brought me water in a cup after a few minutes and sat down beside me, armed with his usual cup of coffee.
We ate quietly while talking about the events prepared for the day and the day before.
"by the way … mhh … I'm going to have to change the sheets and take a little shower" "would you like a hand?" he asks with a malicious grin
"no, I'm fine, thanks. But besides...could you accompany me to take a shower?" I stop eating and look at him with a smile "of course! I don't really want to smell the camel during the whole day …!" He makes an adorable little face and I answer him by giggling softly.
We finish eating, tidy up and do the dishes. Then I head to the little makeshift closet where we store our summer stuff and grab a t-shirt, shorts and clean underwear. "I'm going to the shower!" I say as I get out of the van, walk down some steps and walk around it. I arrive in front of a curtain hung on the wall of the vehicle, forming a rather summary shower cabin.
I put a chair at the entrance of the shower, which is used to put our things there so as not to end up soaked, then I go in.
I undress myself of my unique dress and stretch the arm to put it on the chair. I pass my hands on my face and open the water.
I slip under the icy jet and shiver; no choice, the hot water takes tens of minutes to arrive. The sound of the van door slamming gives me the sign that Soonyoung is coming.
And, it is the case. The curtain opens slightly and he steps into the shower, still in his underwear. "You forgot this!" He shows me the towel he was holding and throws it in the air so that it lands astride the curtain rod. "Perfectly aimed!" I commented "as always…" he said in a low voice, I heard him anyway, as he turned his back to me and took off his briefs and threw them on the chair outside, revealing a nice pair of firm buttocks.
I smiled at the sight and scrutinized him with my eyes as he turned around, the front of his body facing me.
I didn't have time to say anything as he came to keep me company underwater. "I hope the view doesn't bother you… ?" his voice reveals a ton of undertones.
I answer him frankly and without filter. "Yes, I like it very much Soon!"
The smirk on his lips makes me shiver.
He moves quickly under the water, his smile never leaving his lips. His hands come to rest on my hips and grab me to hold me close to him. I hold back a hiccup of amazement. "babe… what are you doing? We can't do this right now…!" I try to raise my voice and stare at him. Very much aware that people around can hear me.
He laughs. He moves his face to my neck and slips a kiss."and it's pretty good timing I'd say…" he continues
"hm? I put my hand on his arm to pull him back, because talking to a shower curtain is getting boring.
"Well… when we have kids, we won't have the time to you know… fuck when we want…" He takes possession of my lips and kisses them tenderly. I put his hand on his shoulder and give him a little touch.
His hands that were on my hips descend on my buttocks, which he kneads. "hey ho. Soonyoung, stop it. We're too young for kids, and if you want more, I'm not sure this is the right time... baaabe...!" "mhh..." He picks up my neck, where he was ironing, with the tip of his tongue, the marks from the day before.
"Well … hurry up and finish rinsing and we'll talk about it tonight!"I detach myself from him, still smiling. A fire of joy is burning inside me just by talking about our possible future children.
I detach myself from him, wrap myself in a towel and go out.
A few seconds later, I reappear, putting my head between the two curtains.
"Oh yes! And you have a full hard on baby! You thought i had not noticed it haha?" Of course, he was already busy, his right arm leaning against the wall and his eyes closed.
I smiled one last time and left.

Written for the @brobonebang Round 1
Prompt: In a motel room with broken AC
Pairing: Wincest
Rated: E
Word count: 2.3k
Tags: top!dean/bottom!sam, sweat, summer heat, ice play, anal sex, anal play, anal ice insertion, yes that's right ice in the butt, first time in a long time, nipple play, rimming, bondage, blow job
Summary: The oppressive, summer heat fueled Sam and Dean’s day-long bickering. It only increased the distance that had grown between them since their father died. In a motel room with broken air conditioning, Dean calls a truce and helps his little brother cool down by tying him to the bed and tormenting him with ice cubes. Good thing Sammy likes a bit of pain with his pleasure.
Snippet:
He heard the crunch-crumble of shifting ice. “Such a brat. Think you need some cooling off,” Dean said, dropping his voice lower and reaching up to rub an ice cube across Sam’s lips. Sam’s eyes fluttered closed at the touch, flinching as cold water dripped down his chest from the heat of his mouth and Dean’s fingertips. “That’s a good look on you, little brother. Mouth shut.”
“Shut up,” Sam murmured, dimples carving his cheeks.
“Lay back.”
Sam quickly obeyed, crawling back on the bed on his elbows and heels until he was stretched out. Dean sat next to him, pursing his lips like he was also trying not to have a shit-eating grin on his face.
Another cube was fished out of the bucket and glided from Sam’s chin down his throat where his blood was already pounding under Dean’s attention. It was a shock, the temperature of his skin so high. Cold water gathered in the hollow of his throat and he swallowed, skin singing and tingling.
He reached to yank at Dean’s shirt, cup his face, thumb his lip. Wanting his skin exposed, wanting him to lean down and kiss him.
Dean tutted, pulling Sam’s wrists away. “Put your arms over your head.”
Sam grinned candidly now, the coolness in his lips dissolving. He stretched his arms up knowing exactly what his brother was thinking.

Losing cone-trol
The one where Dean, obviously the coolest Alpha at his high school happens to spot his Omega one summer. Wooing him will be a piece of cake, right? Right.
Read about SOMEONE losing control on AO3
In which zation fell down a pun rabbit hole and never looked back. Also Dean and Cas are cute.

We have a long tradition here in Hosiedom of great summertime Hosie fics, from works like AdeleDazeem’s summer lovin' had me a blast (wait, no, that's just the leaf-blower), @sabrinasfadingmoon’s summer rush, and ToriWritesStories’s what you got (cause I want it all), to summer camp AUs like @avengerskye’s long-paused 😢 the second summer.
Some years we were even blessed with multiple summer fics. I’ve been waiting for this year’s summer fic to show up, and it may just have arrived, summer lovin' by briq0. Only 1 chapter in so far, but the tease of Hope and Josie’s meeting is spectacular and everything I want in a summer camp fic. Go have a read and let briq0 know you’d love more.
Also, I maintain an AO3 collection, Hosie Summertime Vibes, of my favorite summer-y Hosie fics by other authors, if you’re interested in some more summer-focused works (additionally, there are two of my Tales from the Salvatore Kitchen seasonal one-shots for summer, Going Bananas Without You and Not as Sweet as You).
Here’s to great Hosie summertime reading this summer (northern hemisphere)!

George is a new seasonal hire at a frozen yogurt shop. He can deal with the heat, the busy lines, and the long hours— but if there's one thing he can't deal with, it's his asshole coworker, Dream.

eddie x shy!reader , she asks him on a date by giving him tickets to a concert and he thinks its a joke til she walks away feeling rejected & he realizes she’s like dead serious & goes up to her
thanks for your request! i sorta broke my own heart with this one — the one where eddie rejects you and immediately regrets it (shy!reader, hurt/comfort, 2.6k)
bug's summer fic fest ♡
Robin tells you that he’s nice. She says he won’t turn you down because he loves Mötley Crüe too much and he’s called you pretty too many times. Robin Buckley is many things — a dork, a polyglot, and your best friend, to name a few — but she’s never been a liar.
She wouldn’t lead you to the slaughter that way. She wouldn’t just let you get your heart broken. More than anything, though, she knows Eddie far better than you do — partly because she’s actually able to talk to him.
So despite your lingering worry, you swallow her words like a shot of vodka and maneuver helplessly through the bustling crowd of the Hawkins High lunchroom.
Eddie Munson sits alone at the Hellfire Club table — the smallest one in the very back corner by the large square window.
Instead of eating a real meal (even though the hamburgers might be horse meat instead of cow), the boy eats crumbled-up pretzels from a worn ziplock bag. He pinches them into his mouth blindly because his chocolate syrup gaze is trained on the well-loved book folded in his left hand.
J.R.R Tolkien’s, The Hobbit.
It makes you smile softly to yourself. You hope one day you’ll have the courage to tell him you’ve read that book so many times you could recite it in your sleep. You hope that day comes soon.
“Eddie?” you call softly to him when you reach his table. Your sweaty fingers fidget with the concert tickets you clutch between them.
He just thinks he hears his name at first. It’s barely audible over the sounds of muddled chatter in the cafeteria. He glances up from his book, not expecting anyone to be there, and gaping when he finds you standing in front of him.
His cinnamon eyes go wide. The boy blinks owlishly at you once, then flits his eyes behind you like he’s expecting to see someone there. When he doesn’t, he blinks at you again.
“Hi…” you waver with a trembling smile.
Eddie grins back, still obviously confused. “…Hi?”
“I, uh… I don’t know if you heard, but— well, obviously you heard, that’s… that’s stupid,” you laugh at yourself, shaking your head with your eyes squeezed shut. You’re already stumbling all over yourself, and you haven’t even managed a full sentence yet.
“Mötley Crüe is coming to Indianapolis in a few days, and a friend of mine was selling tickets, so I bought them. For us. Potentially. You know, if you wanted to… to go… With me.”
Your offer lingers and hangs in the air between the two of you.
A smile quirks at the right side of Eddie’s pink mouth. It isn’t a kind one, though. It looks more cynical than anything else.
His head juts back. He’s almost peering at you from the corner of his eye as though you were some suspicious thing he needed to analyze. A laugh sputters from his lips. “Did Buckley put you up to this? Is that what this is?”
Your faltering smile fades entirely. Your features crumble in disappointment.
This worse he could say is no, Robin had told you.
You hadn’t prepared yourself for this.
“…What?” you wonder, voice fragile like a wilting flower petal.
Eddie chuckles to himself. He sets the book down to give you his full attention, though you’re not sure you want it anymore. “You know, I knew she was upset about me trying to set her up with Vickie and all, but this is a… whole new low.”
“Vickie…?” you murmur through a tightening throat, brows pinched in confusion. “I don’t understand—”
“Look, sweetheart… Tell Robin that this was a real funny joke, but I’m not interested, alright?”
Your chest aches with an empty feeling. You think your heart might be breaking. “J—Joke?”
“—Actually, tell her that this was very not metal of her, and that I will get my vengeance,” Eddie says with a sardonic laugh deeply rooted in his chest. His smile looks almost like he pities you as he shakes his head, eyes twinkling with pessimism. “I’m sorry she sent you to do her dirty work, but… You should probably go now. This is, you know, the Hellfire Club table and everything, so…”
You swallow thickly, then nod.
Eddie doesn’t want you here. Eddie doesn’t want you at all.
“I’m— I’m sorry if I…” The words get caught in your throat. You clear it and blink back burning tears. “I was just… I thought that maybe—”
“Eddie!” a boyish voice calls from across the cafeteria, only halfway drowned out through all the noise. A group of guys in Hellfire shirts walk towards the table.
You take that as your cue to leave. You don’t want to burst into tears in front of your crush and all of his friends.
“I’m sorry,” is all you manage to choke out before turning on your heel and walking away.
He’d been smiling up until that point — like it was all a big joke to him — because it was.
The girl he’s been fawning over since junior year comes out of nowhere with tickets to see one of his favorite bands? That was the kind of shit he dreamt about — the kind of plan only someone as vicious as Robin Buckley could concoct to hurt his feelings. And after spending so many years being the brunt of bullies, Eddie was tired of being embarrassed.
And at first, he thought you were just a really good actor. You did look almost genuinely confused when he’d snuffed out the plan so quickly. But those wide, glassy eyes you looked at him with — he doesn’t know if a person can fake that sort of heartbreak. That looked real.
Eddie had been close to commending himself for not letting Robin win. He thought he was a genius for not allowing Buckley to use you against him. Now he knows he’s the same dumbass he's always been.
“Hey, man…” Gareth wavers as he sits at his designated seat adjacent to Eddie’s. The boy’s forlorn and faraway gaze doesn’t go unnoticed by the rest of the club. They all share looks of confusion, but the sandy-haired boy is the only one brave enough to speak up. “You okay?”
Eddie keeps his gaze trained on your figure as you maneuver through the crowd. Robin looks happy for you when you reach her, but the puppy-like excitement washes away when she notices how sad you are.
He feels like someone’s shoved a knife between his ribcage. He wonders if this is what a broken heart feels like.
“I think I screwed up,” he answers, laughing cynically at himself. “Like, big time.”
“Well, it wouldn’t be the first time, right?” Dustin jokes before popping a fry into his mouth. He laughs, but no one else joins him. “…Right?”
Eddie glares at the boy.
He cowers. “…Kidding. I was kidding.”
—————
He stews over it all day — your offer and what he said to you and how sad you looked after he said it.
He pictures your pinched brows and big, glassy eyes and his chest starts to burn a little. Everyone always thought he was some raging asshole just because he had crazy hair and a crazier taste in music. Now he feels like they were sort of right about him.
Whatever chance he had with you has surely turned to dust by now. It wouldn’t surprise him after he shrugged you off like he did. But after waging a nearly four-hour war in his mind between lunch and dismissal, he knows he has to make sure.
He has to know if he’s ruined things entirely or if there’s a glimmer of hope he can hang onto.
He comes to you at the end of the day, dripping in metaphorical blood from the mental carnage he’d endured. He stood across the hall from you for five whole minutes as he tried to come up with something to say. He walks to your locker empty-handed and just blurts, “I thought you were joking,” like a total idiot.
Through the muddled conversation in the bustling hallway, you hadn’t heard him coming. You didn’t know he was there at all until he was right next to you. Seeing someone so suddenly close to you makes you flinch — hard.
And it’s not totally Eddie’s fault. You’re jumpy and too easily frightened at times, but he can’t help but feel like he’s messing things up more than he already has.
“Oh…” you deflate with a sigh, eyes still wide and swimming with something he can’t quite place. You look like you’re almost relieved to see him. Almost.
“Sorry— shit, sorry. I didn’t mean to…” The boy stumbles over his words, then trails off when they don’t come out the way he wants. He shakes his head and finds it in himself to smile. It’s bitter, though, filled with self-abhorrence. “I wasn’t trying to scare you.”
With one hand still clutching the door of your locker, and the other gripping a stack of textbooks, you peer at him through your lashes. “I know. It’s okay. I just— I wasn’t expecting it…”
He grimaces. “Sorry…”
“’S okay,” you repeat.
“I, um, I only came in so hot ‘cause I wanted to apologize— you know, for earlier. In the lunch room,” he stammers and puts his fidgeting hands in the pockets of his leather jacket. He tries to laugh, but it comes out more as an insincere puff of air. “Honestly, I thought you were joking.”
Your brows pinch. “Joking? Why would I—”
“I sorta locked Robin and Vickie in the old chemistry room in the east wing a few days ago,” he confesses, bouncing his shoulders. “Just because I know they both like each other and everything, and I thought maybe they’d finally admit it if they were alone together.”
“Okay…?”
“Well, they didn’t. And Robin was pissed. So I thought she was using you to get back at me.”
“Using me?” you echo.
“Yeah. ‘Cause I’ve kinda been into you since junior year and everything,” he admits with a nonchalant shrug. The corner of his rosy mouth quirks into a half-smile. “It’s, like, the one card Robin could use against me that would actually hurt, you know? If she did try to get me back.”
Your heart swells so much it hurts, almost — the same kind of hurt you'd felt in the lunch room earlier. It feels fiery, like someone’s taken a match to your ribcage and lit your heart aglow. But it’s different now. This is a good hurt, a happy hurt.
“Really?” you squint at him, your voice high and light. Your lips twitch like you want to smile, but you don’t let yourself — lest this all turns out to be some kind of elaborate dream. Or a joke.
“Since we had Mr. Kaminsky’s together, yeah,” Eddie affirms with a slow, confident nod. His chocolate eyes flit up to the water-stained ceiling. “Let’s see… We were learning about reproduction, and Tommy Hagan made some stupid joke about using you as a real-life model instead of the pictures in the textbook—”
“I remember,” you nod, trying not to shudder at the memory that still haunts you.
“And I told him that he was making it real obvious that he’s never seen an actual vagina before and that the one in the textbook looked a lot like his mom’s,” the boy recalls with a soft laugh. “And you looked over at me, and you smiled, and I… have been a goner ever since.”
He looks down at you again, all sheepish like he isn’t gluing your broken heart back together again. His chocolate eyes twinkle in a way you’ve never seen before. They sparkle in their softness. You have to look away before it turns you into a puddle at his feet.
You smile widely into your locker, pursing it off to the side in attempts to conceal its brightness.
“No one’s ever stuck up for me like that before,” you confess quietly after a few moments, peeking at him from the corner of your eye. “I’m pretty sure I gushed to Robin about it for days.”
“Yeah?” Eddie hums. He can feel his hopes getting too high.
“Yeah. I told her all about the pretty boy in the back of the room that finally got Tommy H. to leave me alone.”
“Oh… You think he’s pretty, huh?” the boy teases despite his pink cheeks.
You nod — made much braver by his previous admission — though you still have a little trouble looking him in the eye. You drag a notebook from your locker as you tell him, “I think he’s very pretty.”
“Well, I have it on good authority that the boy you think is pretty is super sorry for being such an asshole to you earlier,” Eddie murmurs, his nose scrunched and head tilted. “And that he’d really love to go to that concert with you— if you haven’t found some other schmuck to go with you, that is.”
Your eyes light up like a Christmas tree as you beam at him. No one’s ever looked at him that way before now.
“I’d like that,” you nod, then shrug. “I don’t think I’d wanna go with anyone else, anyway…”
“So, it’s a date?” Eddie asks, just to make sure. His raised brows disappear behind his fluffy bangs. His chin tilts to his chest as he smiles hopefully down at you.
You nod, and repeat it more softly than the loudmouth boy. “It’s a date.”
Eddie can feel himself grinning like an idiot. His cheeks ache with how wide he’s beaming at you, but he's too lovesick to stop. Like squinting into the sun, smiling every time he looks at you is muscle memory by now.
And what did a freak like him ever do to deserve a date with the freakin’ sun?
