Hey my publisher finally got my book series, The Silent Trilogy, up on Apple Books! Check it out!!!
My publisher calls Silent Trilogy 'X-Men meets Good Omens'. That's not wrong but it is a series about abuse, colonialism and the importance of love in ways those aren't.
Tumblr media
In more detail: the Silent Trilogy is an urban fantasy series set primarily in Hobart, Australia. It tells the story of the dainisa, a not-so-hidden magical community, focused primarily on their non-binary Princess, Torao Yamaguchi.
Desperate for her child to have a better life than she did, the leader of dainisa Amaya Yamaguchi sparks a revolution to claim Australia as a magical continent where dainisa can live in accordance with their own laws, not those of humans. However fighting power is a complex thing in a world built to function on injustice, and a pretty siren desperate for revenge could ruin it all…
Narrated through the eyes of a human who doesn’t quite get it, the Silent Trilogy is about the narratives we build of history. It's an exploration of trauma, the ways people learn to live with it, and how bigotry works. Also there's angels and demons messing things up. More info on the website!
I finished this series a long time ago but I'm still very proud of it!! It's a niche story I had a lot of fun with. I wrote this NB protag before I even came out myself so that's always cool. And every time I have to reread a part of the series I have a really hard time stopping cos I enjoy my own work so much lmao. So hopefully you'll enjoy it too!!
(it's also on Amazon if you prefer kindle, and if you don't wanna support either, well, chuck me a couple dollars on Patreon)

At the outset of H. G. Wells's The War of the Worlds (1898), Wells asks his English readers to compare the Martian invasion of Earth with the Europeans' genocidal invasion of the Tasmanians, thus demanding that the colonizers imagine themselves as the colonized, or the about-to-be-colonized. But in Wells this reversal of perspective entails something more, because the analogy rests on the logic prevalent in contemporary anthropology that the indigenous, primitive other's present is the colonizer's own past. Wells's Martians invading England are like Europeans in Tasmania not just because they are arrogant colonialists invading a technologically inferior civilization, but also because, with their hypertrophied brains and prosthetic machines, they are a version of the human race's own future.
The confrontation of humans and Martians is thus a kind of anachronism, an incongruous co-habitation of the same moment by people and artifacts from different times. But this anachronism is the mark of anthropological difference, that is, the way late-nineteenth-century anthropology conceptualized the play of identity and difference between the scientific observer and the anthropological subject-both human, but inhabiting different moments in the history of civilization. As George Stocking puts it in his intellectual history of Victorian anthropology, Victorian anthropologists, while expressing shock at the devastating effects of European contact on the Tasmanians, were able to adopt an apologetic tone about it because they understood the Tasmanians as "living representatives of the early Stone Age," and thus their "extinction was simply a matter of … placing the Tasmanians back into the dead prehistoric world where they belonged" (282-83). The trope of the savage as a remnant of the past unites such authoritative and influential works as Lewis Henry Morgan's Ancient Society (1877), where the kinship structures of contemporaneous American Indians and Polynesian islanders are read as evidence of "our" past, with Sigmund Freud's Totem and Taboo (1913), where the sexual practices of "primitive" societies are interpreted as developmental stages leading to the mature sexuality of the West. Johannes Fabian has argued that the repression or denial of the real contemporaneity of so-called savage cultures with that of Western explorers, colonizers, and settlers is one of the pervasive, foundational assumptions of modern anthropology in general. The way colonialism made space into time gave the globe a geography not just of climates and cultures but of stages of human development that could confront and evaluate one another.
The anachronistic structure of anthropological difference is one of the key features that links emergent science fiction to colonialism. The crucial point is the way it sets into motion a vacillation between fantastic desires and critical estrangement that corresponds to the double-edged effects of the exotic. Robert Stafford, in an excellent essay on "Scientific Exploration and Empire" in the Oxford History of the British Empire, writes that, by the last decades of the century, "absorption in overseas wilderness represented a form of time travel" for the British explorer and, more to the point, for the reading public who seized upon the primitive, abundant, unzoned spaces described in the narratives of exploration as a veritable "fiefdom, calling new worlds into being to redress the balance of the old" (313, 315). Thus when Verne, Wells, and others wrote of voyages underground, under the sea, and into the heavens for the readers of the age of imperialism, the otherworldliness of the colonies provided a new kind of legibility and significance to an ancient plot. Colonial commerce and imperial politics often turned the marvelous voyage into a fantasy of appropriation alluding to real objects and real effects that pervaded and transformed life in the homelands. At the same time, the strange destinations of such voyages now also referred to a centuries-old project of cognitive appropriation, a reading of the exotic other that made possible, and perhaps even necessary, a rereading of oneself.

is there a good place to start if we want to learn about idletry? im very interested in the story and all the bits and pieces revealed so far but i dont know if youve like, stated the basics both about the characters-in-story and how you’re releasing the comic
hi there. unfortunately, idletry became a passion project very abruptly and many details were added very quickly without regard for how long the project would take. once i did realize how large the project was, i decided that i would not even kid myself on the idea of holding in spoilers for the next 5 years, and those two factors combined make the information available very chaotic and slapdash -- somewhat intentionally.
i don't even have the comics tagged separately for easier access among the idletry content -- although, i could go back and give them a separate tag.
i can summarize the story and say that it's about a funny little talking honey badger/tasmanian devil named jessie gaylord who has for the last 10 years of her life been on heavy psychiatric medication in an attempt to mitigate a pervasive delusion that the world is a fictional story. she also has a notorious aggressive streak. these medications work primarily by leaving her so tired that she sleeps most of the time.
the story begins when her medical team has run out of typical medications to try, and they must order an older, more aggressive type of drug which is not commonly used anymore, and has a lengthier process to manufacturing and approving the drug. during this time, she is not on any medication, and she becomes more urgently fixated on convincing people that the delusion is true.
she ends up attempting to contact the writer, who is referred to as God, and she receives a response. she immediately attempts to write the story herself, and she's granted the ability to do anything within the story so long as she can write it out. (the intricacies and limitations of this power have been elaborated upon in a bunch of fragmentary posts, so i won't try to condense it here)
at the end of the first act, she kills the first writer and becomes the new God of her world. the rest of the story is about what she does after acquiring omnipotence, and it heavily features a character named fate -- or shiloh, as jessie calls her -- with whom she enters an intimate relationship.
she has a happy loving family composed of a father named adam, a mother named evelyn, and an older sister named emily. there is a later minor subplot about a cult following who worships her after she becomes God, and this cult is initially organized by an ant called samanthuel -- or samwich, as jessie calls them. these are usually the other characters i mention and i am too lazy to link them right now
the comic itself is currently being written. the script stands at around 51,000 words at the time of writing this as i work on the second act. after it's written, i will let it simmer for a few months and then write a second draft to start to relieve the story of its bloat. depending on its length at that point, i will either need to write a third draft, or i will start drawing the comic.
chances are, during the second draft, i will start to thumbnail or sketch scenes which receive little to no editing, as i know they will likely remain relatively unchanged even through multiple drafts.
the sketch strips are to tide me and an eager audience over in the meantime, but they've sort of dried up as i focus all of my attention on finishing the first draft and taking care of a puppy that was kind of just forced onto me.
i've made a couple of full-length comics before and they have taken years. it is, unfortunately, just the nature of the process. for idletry, i plan to self-publish the comic. i've never published something in print before, so that is the most daunting part for me.
the plan at the moment is to crowdfund this, but, to be frank with you, i no longer pay rent, and i care very much about having this comic as a printed book. i have no issue with paying the cost of printing out of my own pocket by the time it's done and am even anticipating that outcome ahead of time, despite having a pretty reliable audience by now.
i'm on the fence about releasing a digital book version, as i very much want to retain digital color versions of the pages that are more vibrant, but due to the explicit adult content of the story, i don't want it to be free-access.
tl;dr: it's about a lesbian incel with anger issues who's given omnipotence.
i'm still working on the story because i want it to be good.
i'm planning on printing it as a physical comic book once it's done.

Here's a buncha my personal Gwen Stacy Headcanons that no one asked for but I'm giving anyway :3 I wrote a Butt Ton and I hope y'all like really 'em 🐧
Gwen was a very tough, reckless kid growing up. She tripped and fell a LOT because she liked doing stunts and parkouring on literally everything, but she'd never cry. George was always scared of Gwen getting hurt from her stunts but he was impressed (if a little freaked) by how she'd get right back up afterward like it was nothing. Gwen was just a very naturally durable child. She'd always have at least one band-aid on her somewhere.
(My sister wrote this one): As a result of her absolutely Tasmanian devil type recklessness, George would cut her hair SUPER short as a child, like pixie hair type short to avoid having to always wash out the bugs and dirt and leaves and wood chips and literally anything she grabs and just goes "Savin this for later yo" in her hair. (She still stuck stuff in her hair and honestly liked the short hair better cuz she could run faster, but ey it reduced the expenses on baby shampoo SIGNIFICANTLY) n she wasn't allowed to grow her scruffy little spike head hair long again till she was like 8 poor georgie was struggling for ideas he's just a guy HES JUST A GUY MAN !!!!!
Gwen begged George for a penguin as a pet when she was 5 but was told that penguins can't be pets. She played club penguin almost every day until middle school. She starts playing it again after they defeat the Spot. Margo plays it with her all the time. Gwen was absolutely appalled when she discovered that Club Penguin is discontinued in Miles' universe.
Yeah she's 100% patching things up with Glory, Em Jay, and Betty after Beyond the Spiderverse. The Mary Janes become a successful niche band very quickly now that Gwen is fully committed and she even performs as lead vocalist every now and then. Gwen eventually starts writing and singing songs of her own for their shows. She also starts spending more time with them outside the band.
Gwen and Peter's favorite childhood activity was making home videos. Peter's videos emulate Bill Nye the Science Guy; he'd showcase all these experiments/prepared presentations and ramble on about them pretending he's this world renowned scientist. Gwen's videos are her doing crazy stunts on her skateboard, or inspecting exotic bugs/lizards with her bare heckin' hands and talking to them in funny voices. They'd each film the other's videos. They stopped making them when they reached middle school; life just got harder for the both of them due to increased bullying, Gwen becoming Spider-Woman, and Peter's mental health getting worse. Gwen still has their old video camera with all their videos still intact, but since Peter's death, she hasn't been able to bring herself to watch them again.
She loves saying "yell heah"/"yell hes"/"what the yell"/"aw yellll nahhh" a lot
Big fan of action/neo-noir/crime thriller movies: John Wick, Sicario, Baby Driver, Nightcrawler, Pulp Fiction, Batman, etc. Just any piece of fiction with Misunderstood Action Person who's always On The Run, hunted by the law but just trying to get by, struggling to survive in an unjust system. Toootallllyyy doesn't hit close to home for her.
PC gamer? Yell hes.
She's a surprisingly talented voice artist/impressionist with impressive range. She already figured out how to perfectly mimic Hobie's cockney British accent after like a week. She never forgets a voice and can do quickly do impressions of lots of famous fictional characters. She'll come up with all these funny voices to make Miles laugh or prank call people. She LOVES prank calling people.
Part of George's motivation for letting Gwen take up ballet was so that she could learn proper balance/coordination so she'd be more careful when performing all her stunts. I think that Gwen used to be naturally clumsy until ballet taught her proper agility. He thought that if she was gonna be a little daredevil, then she could at least be able to catch herself before her face is slamming into the pavement.
Gwen is a big nickname-giver. She calls Miles "Bambi" (he looks like a baby deer to her), Margo is "Mars Bar", Peni is "Panini", and Pav is "Pavlova." She mostly nicknames people after food really.
She's not really a candy person but she is definitely a junk food person. M&Ms, Cool Ranch Doritos, Pringles, soft drinks (favors coke), Reese's, Cheez-its (her favorite), Oreos, and your typical fast foods.
After the Spot fiasco is over and she and Miles are months into their relationship, Gwen starts putting on a bit of weight. Not that much, but her form fills out enough to be noticeable. I like the idea that she becomes so happy with herself post-Beyond that she indulges herself a little, yknow? She takes an immediate liking to Rio's food and Rio is always giving her extra leftovers to take home or packs her something to eat during Spider-missions. She doesn't become aware of the extra weight until Miles' clothes start fitting her a little tighter than she remembers (he's very skinny after all). She's very happy with her new shape and chooses not to lose it (mostly because she refuses to have to eat less which honestly same)
Going back to the home video headcanon; Peter actually recorded one last video the night before the prom. In the video, he presents the vial containing the lizard serum to the viewer and explains his plan to drink the serum so he can get revenge on everyone who bullied him at the school. The way Peter enthusiastically presents his plan in the video is eerily similar to the old science videos he recorded as a child. At the end of the video, he rambles about how excited he is to become "special like her," but he doesn't elaborate further; anyone who isn't Gwen won't know who he's talking about. Since Gwen hasn't opened that video camera to this day, she has no idea the video exists (I don't know if she ever sees it).
I'll post the next part of that 'Gwen Stacy is Sick' comic tomorrow I promise XD

Izumi Sena & Leo Tsukinaga x a messy, messy gn!artistic reader
Tumblr media
——————————————————————
Synopsis: How would Izumi and Leo act with a partner who’s a tragically messy artist with extra messy on the side.
Tw? Unless you find fluff and pretend constant disappointment absolutely mortifying, there’s none!
Author note: I’ve fallen down the bottomless pit of Knights yet again and now i’m writing x reader fanfic to quell my depressing thirst for fictional idols. I don’t think the bible approves of me guys-
—————————————————————
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
—————————————————————
- Izumi Sena -
- Oh great, ANOTHER Leo. At least you’re not running around at the dead of night getting lost and losing your phone…. Right? RIGHT?!?
- He loves you! He does! It’s just… When he sees the remains of your 3AM artist mayhem it just makes him question everything. Just a bit.
- The sketchbooks… The loose paper… The pens, pencils, and markers all over the place… God it haunts him in his dreams. I mean, how does a marker make it behind the GOD DAMNED PILLOWS?!? HELLO?!?!
- Has seriously considered buying restraints. Don’t test him… He will. (must we remember his Makoto moment…?)
- He thinks it’s stupid that you trash so much art. You’re going to suffocate your trashcan with all that beautiful messy art.
- And don’t think you can get away with digital art!! He’s seen your file names!!! Disgusting. How do you even manage to find anything? You don’t? Explains a lot.
- It doesn’t matter where you crash, as you’ll always find yourself back in bed with all your tasmanian devil destruction cleanly put away.
- He always makes sure you get enough sleep, enough to eat, and plenty to drink. And don’t go slouching around like an idiot! It’ll ruin that pretty pretty appearance of yours… Seriously, SOOOO annoying.
- When you show him your recent art piece that has survived Hurricane Y/N, he smiles, just a bit. Butttt like the tsundere he is he quickly covers it up and says your eyes are just playing tricks. You draw too much. Go to sleep before he has to go through the hassle of getting you glasses!!!
- What’s that? You want to know his opinion? Well, of course you do! He is the MOST qualified person for this. He is a model after all~~ He gives you a healthy balance of compliments and criticism. He knows what getting crappy criticism is like, and he never wants you to experience that too. Especially from him.
- Once you’ve left, he smiles and admires your work. He loves it! It doesn’t matter if it’s the next Picasso masterpiece or not, it was made by you and that’s special. He really wants to see where your art goes, and he will stop at nothing to make sure that becomes a reality.
Tumblr media
- Leo Tsukinaga -
- Crazy artist two, electric boogaloo.
- The team rocket theme plays when the two of you are seen together.
- “PREPARE FOR TROUBLE! AND MAKE IT DOUBLE!”
- Leo is genuinely SO happy he’s with you. Seriously. He’s never letting you go. Forget Anzu when he has YOU! :D His best, most beautiful muse!
- Naru walks into your shared room with Leo, it’s literally all paper and various stationary. She can’t even see you two!! She sighs and closes the door, she can’t take this much longer….
- Leo sees your art, and he glows. Like, LITERALLY glows. (god applied glow ink to him for 1800 seconds.)
- Your art just makes him so happy and giggly. He’s already hugging you and bouncing up and down like no tomorrow.
- Sometimes, he sees music in your art. Like, both figuratively and literally. There are now at least 20 songs that have come from the back of your sketchbook and 20 more that was written i n your sketchbook.
- If you were to EVER degrade your art in any fashion, well, Leo will get very grumpy. And whiny. And clingy. He’s NOT leaving your side and he will NOT shut up until you agree that all your art is beautiful and you’re super talented and super attractive and amazing and funny and- it never ends…
- There have been multiple instances where all the idols in Ensemble Square have found washed up and stranded pages filled with doodles and music notes. They’re just… not even surprised. They’ve even made a competition from it!
- Whoever finds the most abandoned children of the artistic mayhems ™️ gets *idk insert something that sounds appealing i can’t think of anything.*
- Now, if you decide to come with Leo to Florence, well…. Hell hath no fury like an Izumi annoyed. Buttttt that’s another story for another time ;)
Tumblr media
I hope yall enjoyed my little head cannons for my favorite two idiots. If any of you wanna request then please check my pinned post! Have a good rest of the next 12 hours :)

Mr G [The Hacker: Death of the Internet @tzarina-alexandra]
He is the computer scientist who created Project Paradise, a cloud in which people can upload their consciousness and, according to him, essentially become immortal. He believes in his project wholeheartedly and is dedicated to stopping its destruction. However, what he loves the most are his children. He would do anything to ensure they live long and healthy lives. Anything.
Ourem [Strahliana @egglygreg]
Ourem is an okari, a domesticated breed of thyrinna, which is a fictional marsupial species based on the Tasmanian Tiger (thylacine). While okari specifically have a coat and appearance similar to a rough collie, all thyrinna have a bony head ridge like a triceratops. Okari are essentially livestock guardian dogs who watch over a flock of animals to protect them from predators, and Ourem is very committed to his job. Unfortunately for him, his flock went from a peaceful herd of animals to a trio of troublesome humans (Ahleri, Zhahara and Conall) and a very annoying sumic possum (Nimble) who are all determined to cause him as much stress as possible. He spends a lot of his time trying to herd them away from trouble, and is a bit of a worrywart. He has real grumpy dad energy despite being (basically) a dog. Does a lot of those big sighs dogs sometimes do. Loves a good nap.

Staff Pick of the Week
First serialized in Pearson’s (UK) and Cosmopolitan (US) in 1897, H.G. Wells’s War of the Worlds wasn’t the very first alien story ever told, but it is probably the most enduring and culturally significant of those early tales. Wells wasn’t just drawing on the nascent genre of science fiction but also the (earthly) invasion literature that was first popularized by George Tomkyns Chesney’s The Battle of Dorking ( Blackwood's Magazine, 1871). Wells later wrote that War of the Worlds was inspired by the genocidal treatment of Aboriginal Tasmanians by British colonizers.
The Limited Edition’s Club edition of H.G. Well’s War of the Worlds was published in 1964. It is illustrated with ten color lithographs, drawn directly on the plates by Joeseph Mugnaini, as well as a number of smaller line drawings by the artist. We posted a few years ago about the Limited Editions Club edition of The Time Machine, also illustrated by Mugnaini. These two books were originally issued together in an ochre-yellow slipcase that matches the end papers; the linen-weave book-cloth bindings are dyed in an opposite color scheme (black with a red spine label for The Time Machine and red with a black spine label for War of the Worlds). The boxed set was designed by Peter Oldenburg and printed on white wove paper from Curtis Paper Company by Abraham Colish at his press in Mt. Vernon, NY. The lithographs were pulled by master printer George C. Miller.
I love how Mugnaini’s colorful illustrations manifest a sense of unease: the yellow and red skies backing the alien invaders, the extreme heat of blue streaked flames, the kaleidoscopic ruins of a building. Mugnaini was best known for his many collaborations with another Science Fiction heavyweight: Ray Bradbury, including cover art for the first paperback and hardback editions of Fahrenheit 451. A previous Staff Pick featured Mugnaini’s illustrations for the Limited Editions Club of Bradbury’s The Martian Chronicles.
You can find more posts on the work of H. G. Wells here.
Check out more from illustrator Joe Mugnaini here.
And here you can find more from Limited Editions Club.

Creature Court is a gaslamp fantasy series (by a Tasmanian!) involving shapeshifting feral lunatics fighting a hopeless war against the literal sky in a city that's a mashup of 1920s Chicago and Ancient Rome. the books are:
Power and Majesty
The Shattered City
Reign of Beasts
and Cabaret of Monsters (a prequel novella)
the setting is FANTASTIC (Aufleur is up there in my very top fictional cities along with Ankh-Morpork and London Below) and the characters are terrible and incredibly compelling people (but I love them). the lead is Velody, a no-nonsense dressmaker whose entire career revolves around creating costumes for Aufleur's never-ending series of Romanesque festivals until she's caught up in the titular Court and is furious because it interferes with her day job. costuming and theatre and performance are incredibly important to the plot and it's my favourite ever thing.
warning that there is reasonably heavy violence and a couple of sex scenes (I tend to skip the latter) so if that doesn't float your boat absolutely no pressure
but they fight the fucking sky!
That sounds so awesome. I am not phased by violence or sex (Ancient Greece style) and shall add these to my list at once

OOC:
You’ve heard from episode 6 about how Taz’s ex-wife, the She-Devil, left him because she hated his gifts. However, here’s the full story:
As stated by real life nature documentaries, female Tasmanian Devils only match themselves with the strongest male Devils. She-Devil believed Taz was one of them, and it was love at first sight. Taz eventually returned her feelings, as these two shared a lot in common. Both loved to spin, eat by the score, watch monster truck rallies, listen to heavy metal, you name it. They seemed to be two vicious predators that were made for each other, and Taz was happy. All was cloud nine for a awhile.
It was until after they got married, their relationship would then take a misfortunate turn. Taz started to open up more of himself to She-Devil, which she found herself displeased with. He’s always trying to be her gentleman, cried whenever he overreacted, and shared his odd obsession with a fictional unicorn. She-Devil wanted an alpha male, but what she ended up with was a "sissy." What had really became the last straw for her was when Taz presented her with a simple Valentines Day gift, which she called a "stupid paper heart," instead of fetching her a fresh carcass.
She-Devil lost interest in Taz, and that led to their divorce. Now, let's fast forward to his current marriage with Marvin. Taz and Marvin have very little in common. One's a man-eating, primal carnivore with an IQ under -12, while the other is a super advanced specimen, who is tidy and graceful. Sometimes, they get on each other's nerves. But what keeps them glued together? Their mutual feelings for one another.
Taz and Marvin tend to overlook their differences whenever they remember how much they care for each other. Taz ain’t smart, rich, or good-lookin’, but he's given Marvin more love than anyone else has, ever since they were toddlers. She-Devil loved Taz for his beastly form, but didn't respect his true form. Marvin deeply admired Taz's sensitive side, enough to tolerate every annoying flaw about him. Marvin and Taz bring balance and support to each other. That's what makes them happily married.
To coin Bug's phrase: "She's a bitch."

i am genuinely sorry i inadvertently made you do research/homework for the speciality ask/response!!! BUT, so happy you find tassie devils cute!! poor little monsters (affectionate) need all the love they can get (death to face cancer)! just reiterating that you posting that the final (!!!!!) chapter of THD was written set off the same screeching noise in my brain! i've dug into the OG work you've posted on AO3 and am (actually, possibly, not really dw) dying to know if you've written/published full length novels?? your writing style/skill is so incredible i would love to purchase and read all of the everything that you've done! (if you haven't written/published you 1000000% should and i would LOVE to support you in all of it) hope your day is even half as incredible as your writing!! xxx
Don't be sorry! I love acquiring miscellaneous bits of information and the extremely loud and disturbing Tasmanian devil screech made my day. My original fiction projects really are my babies (so is THD but in a slightly different way) and it's wonderful to hear you've enjoyed them! At the moment, I'm only published in my academic life — I have a couple of articles in undergrad journals and a revise and resubmit on one for a graduate journal — but my series All Our Yesteryears will be novel-length (or several novel lengths) and posted on AO3. It's a project that I've been working on for years and has somehow produced two(!!!) full-length novels and one 86K short story collection as I've cycled through various methods of organizing this very long and complex story over the years. Which is to say that all my fiction writing will be online for free for the foreseeable future, but it's truly amazing and so lovely to hear that anyone is willing to pay money to read something I wrote.

I am very tempted to write a anthological Fan fiction about Skylanders and expand on the stories we have some info about but not all. Here are some of my ideas: Dino-Rang/Crash Bandicoot/Spyro & Cynder: These three together in the revisioning of the universe where its a little after the Legend of Spyro trilogy, Cynder and Spyro are being adorable until they uncover something. The world was recreated so they don’t really know what to think about what they found, which is a ruin. Is it a hold over from the old world? Is it a call to another Spyro and his friends? Well, they activate the portal and it releases something...
On two different sides, you have Crash recently winning against Neo-Cortex yet again but as the victory is had, Crash is suddenly whisked away through a portal, thinking its Neocortex’s doing. Meanwhile Ty the Tasmanian Tiger (Didn’t expect him huh) is visiting a village in search of a possibility of reuniting with his people. A portal opens though and out of fear of their new friend being hurt, a villager pushed Ty out of the way but fell into the portal, that being Dino-Rang.
Drobot/Drill Sergeant: A revision of his story would be similar to the story he had originally, a dragon who was more fascinated with technology before ending up on an island of tech. In this revision, it is not Terrafin who finds Drill Sergeant but Drobot, who while scavenging for parts finds the old robot intact and begins to work on him, the Arkeyan robot being onlined at the end causing a flashback for Drobot to watch.
Arkeyan Origins (Chop-Chop, Drill Sergeant, Crypt King, & Maybe another): So this version of the Arkeyans are somewhat different, kinda like the Combine from Half-life with the elemental origins being Undead and Tech as there would be more minor characters that are not skylanders in this story. Unlike the combine though, they are not conquerers, they are refugees from their world falling apart and they ended up in Skylands very shortly after its creation. And an enemy would be there, likely one of the cut skylanders we seen or a giant, leaning to cut character for a lot more content to play with. Ultimately Crypt King is damaged and Chop-Chop decides to save him by taking him to the underworld, leaving Drill Sergeant on the isle just for Drobot to find way later.
Sunburn: This one may be the darkest but this story idea ties into the first like the latter two connected. Sunburn wasn’t from Skylands in this revision idea, he was a creation made in a different realm. A few months after weird energies began to fluctuate, a scientist found a connection to another world, getting a dragon scale and with a part of a phoenix, began their dark expirements. Stretching the DNA of both beings until Sunburn was created, and when Sunburn was awoken, he did not have much to go off of but due to expirementation on the portal tech Spyro and Cynder have been doing with the help of other beings, Sunburn could tap into it. Sunburn is the first Portal Master and ended up in Skylands when testing out abilities, being scared by what he found, and began to drift between realms before coming back to Skylands, realizing, that is where he keeps being called back too. And the Traumatized fire lizard seeks out whoever is in charge to get answers about who he is. That person in charge being Spyro.
There are other characters I have in mind for possible stories but its mainly like the time of early Skylands so the only civilizations already sort of set up are the dragons and a few scattered ideas of others existing from a holdover of the previous world still are here. The Magic that created the new Skylands too created new life and one idea would be a Stump Smash story but still working on ideas for that. On the other hand it would mainly be aspects like this where it takes more of the Legend of Spyro Canon and apply it to Skylanders, doing my best to meld the series and possibly making something a little darker as you would see quite a bit more to possibly meld together and could tie into the aspect that Skylands is not in a normal universe setting but is a sort of shattered universe where life thrives in this corner of the multiverse but go beyond the unleashed magic that involved the ending of the Legend of Spyro Trilogy, and you will find something way more twisted in ideas.
