Is it just me who loves the black water arc? There's so much to unpack but people rarely post about it.

Like you realize that He Xuan would've been an amazing god but found the next best thing, or that Shi Wudu doesn't actually think about stealing He Xuan's fate that seriously because he is the god of commerce, of trading, even the not entirely legal kind, so he doesn't think of He Xuan's fate as anything important because it's just another exchange to him.

Also that Shi Qingxuan doesn't actually want to blame anyone for the situation because they love their brother and knows he would only do something like that because he loves them and He Xuan was his best friend for literal centuries and Shi Qingxuan knew he genuinely cared for them.

And the way Xie Lian reacts. He just immediately wants to help not just because he is that type of person, but because he knows what it feels like to be betrayed by people that you loved, trusted and did everything for.

Anyways sorry for the rant but I just love everything about it.

Imagine being Heaven's Therapist. The person would probably quit after the first day.

Pei Ming would show up there just to flirt, regardless of gender, he will try his luck.

Xie Lian would be the only one showing up daily except that he doesn't like to acknowledge that he has trauma so he'd be laughing about it and feel awkward when the therapist isn't laughing too. Meanwhile the therapist might have second-hand trauma from Xie Lian's jokes.

Mu Qing won't even show up.

Hua Cheng sneaks into heaven just because there's someone getting paid to listen to rants so he can talk about how much he loves Xie Lian all day long.

Jun Wu would also never show up. 2000 years of baggage, one therapist will never be enough.

Feng Xin might show up and actually get shit done. He needs a therapist and not their go-to sarcastic one (I mean you Mu-Qing).

Shi Wudu also wouldn't show up but he'd make Shi Qingxuan go.

Shi Qingxuan would drag Ming Yi with him and it would be so awkward for so many reasons. Cause Shi Qingxuan isn't even aware....that he has trauma...... (Yes, this is pre canon). Ming Yi would go for the snacks though.

Ling Wen would go. It's an important part of her schedule but she's only going because it's the only time she can sip tea in peace and be left alone. She's not speaking a word to the therapist. Except maybe bonding from their stressed out jobs.

Quan Yizhen would go because everyone told him to go. He's not sure why he's there. If someone asks about his feelings he'll talk about Shixiong before he curls on the couch and fall asleep.

Lang Qianqiu...... actually has a lot to get off his chest. Even pre-cannon. It gets worse post-cannon. I'm sure, like Qi Ying, he just wants to ask "Did I do something wrong?"

I don't understand people hate or indifference towards Shi Wudu. This man did everything he could to save his little brother, sure he ruined someone life but tell me you wouldn't do the same to save a very very important person in your life. Between a stranger and your brother? Obviously you choose your brother! He protected him since they were little to his last breath.

On to the next point are his comments about Shi Qingxuan female form. And I understand that, they are really bad, it's horrible to not be understood for yourself, but his change of genders from Shi Wudu perspective? To avoid attracting the attention of the Venerable of Empty Words the made him masquerade as a girl, they forced him to dress like a girl. When he finally ascended there wasn't any need for him to do it, the Venerableof Empty Words was dead. But She Qingxuan still did it, because they liked it and felt comfortable in both genders. But Shi Wudu would probably think it was becouse they were still scared that the Venerable of Empty Words would find him. And he would think it was his fault. So he would repeatedly say that they didn't need to change their gender anymore. They were safe now.

And for the Water Tyrant thing yeah, terrible move, like yeah the more powerful you become to more your able to defend the one you love, but paranoid much?

He Xuan had every right to avenge himself and his loved ones, but we have outside perspective on the whole Black Water arc so we should be able to see both side.

I don't know I'm a sucker for over over protective siblings.

I love them

I mean it is definitely the type of ship I usually like. They are even blue+red (well at least Pei Ming is red in my conception of him)

I didn't like Pei at first and the pair itself didn't click for me until I saw other people ship it. But it's really a top tier ship

They are silly together. They make stupid old people jokes only they understand, they have so much potential for sad fics

Beefleaf Angst TGCF BOOK 3 SPOILERS

Something something He Xuan needing Shi Qingxuan to choose him if just once. Them choosing him that one time they reached out to him and Xie Lian after they'd found out the truth about He Xuan. That was the only time Shi Qingxuan chose He Xuan over their brother.

It's just..... We love He Xuan and we want the best for him, but then you think of what he's asking. That's the person who raised Shi Qingxuan. When the world crashed around them, when the world called them cursed, when everything with common sense let go, Shi Wudu stayed. Shi Wudu fought the nightmares. Shi Wudu did terrible things but he made sure to protect that beautiful innocent smile. How could Shi Qingxuan not rush to him? How could he not choose him? Even if he's a spoilt grump, he's their brother. He's been their safe place for centuries. One can't just wipe that away. When things went mad, Shi Qingxuan could always count on Shi Wudu to fix it. After all "Ge is so smart and talented and he's rich and strong. Ge can do anything. Ge can chase the monsters away."

Eventually the monsters came bigger and stronger and it was way too much for Ge. Yet Ge faced them anyway with lots of audacity in his pocket. In chains and agony Ge still had the audacity to beg for their life, not his own. How could Shi Qingxuan choose any different? Even He Xuan knew it was a lost cause no matter how badly he wanted it. They just wouldn't choose him.

Unfortunately, with this came the realisation, that if Shi Qingxuan was going to keep choosing their family....then He Xuan would be forced to do the same. He also had a sibling he'd do anything for. Parents he'd loved. A life, a story he'd been about to write full of success and joy. His family had been crying for hundreds of years. It was time for He Xuan to choose them.
