at this point the writer's strike should just be a cultural movement

like ppl are writing for FREE and you're complaining about turn out rate and shit

we have lives and some of us (HELL ALL OF US) have some form of mental illness, so we can't be fucking cogs all day and churn out fics.

writing is suppose to be therapeutic and writers want to share that with you to ease the tension of this hellscape we live in

but some of these readers and even fellow writers are taking it too far with the bullying

like its mean and nasty. you don't know what someone is going thru.

instead of asking for updates how about check and see if your writer is mentally stable to do so. that right there is a booster, to have someone say "are you okay?"

and then the whole accusations of favoring a certain member/character. if that person is my muse or safe space then of course imma write for them. most solo writers i see don't even talk bad about other people. its a SOLO account. think of it as a shrine blog of writing if that helps. they're not there to trash, just share their writing for other's who might also share the same muse.

then you have readers who can't separate fiction from reality. just because someone writes a character with irl people faceclaimed onto them doesnt mean they actually think that person would be or do those things irl. i'll be the first to say that i only gave my characters bts faces cuz thats who im attracted to and they're who i imagine would be casted to play my characters.

then IN THE YEAR OF 2023 we still have ppl making fun of their peers writing and also THE FACT THAT ENGLISH MIGHT NOT BE THEIR FIRST LANGUAGE? that's nasty asf. majority of us dont even speak 'proper' english as our first language no way. you only shooting yourself in the foot. don't act like you dont have beta readers... like what are yall on?

and anybody who gets on THAT BLOG behind anon is an opp. not just to the writing community but in how you interact with the world all together. yall don't know how to talk to people anymore? it may have started as a place for critique and accountability but no one is bringing receipts or critical thinking anymore. its mainly for drama and not rehabilitation. yall serious scare me in how we'd see the reality of social change applied to the real world. like i'd be more scared to let yall around the prisoners with minor offenses cuz yall act like its the end of the world and that change cant happen. yall give nobody room to change ignorant stances but ignore the real egregious shit because you honestly dont have the bandwidth to take on actual fascist views.

and also, for that purpose: as someone with disabilities, im really curious how disabilities are translated into Felt World? obviously not all of them, that'd take forever. but i was curious if they use mobility aids just like ours or if they use ones we could not have (an example of what i mean could be like "seal-chairs" in "Witch Hat Atelier"? they are chairs with hooves that run and jump, as opposed to wheels). and i know you said music is really powerful in this world, in both singing and instruments, but i wanted to also ask how in a world with so much focus on sound are the deaf/hard of hearing accomadated? deaf/HoH people can still play instruments, obviously (the most famous example being Beethoven), but i meant other than that

(also, if i recall accurately you once said that "the puppets have to speak to be considered sentient beings"? i was wondering if in the future could that be amended to "have to be able to communicate"? because i assume nonverbal puppets would still exist, as well as puppets who just dont speak much (whether thats a facet of deafness or nonspeaking shutdown or just a quiet personality). or would that break Felt World's world-building's logic in some way? that's a genuine question. i wasnt sure how to word it in a way that would minimize the risk of one being put on their back-foot, but i tried my best, it really is a genuine question)

also a bit of a tangent, idk if this is just a "for now" aspect of Donna due to her adjusting or if this is a core pillar of her personality but... just, thank you for making a feminine character who cries a lot and is emotional with Big Feelings. ive always felt more connected to the Dorthy Gales, Cinderellas, Clarisse de Cagliostros kind of heroines who are a bit of a "damsel in distress" (tho i do think that term reduces a lot of their agency and bravery) and i feel a bit lonely that we dont see many emotional-vitality-driven heroines who need some help as much as badass heroines or sassy heroines, both of whom are fully capable of getting shit sone alone. makes my cry-baby disabled ass feel a little pathetic (im very physically weak because of my chronic health issues, and am the type of Autistic ADHDer who is very sensitive to getting big feelings), even tho i know those types of heroines are valid and needed. i resonate a lot with AJR's lyric about "But I'm weak. And what's wrong with that?" even though i know im taking it out of context

and im sure Donna will prove herself capable of being on her own and having her own agency, same as all the heroines ive listed, i dont assume she will be stagnant, but i just wanted to really thank you for making a character that i relate to. i dont get that often. it makes me feel a bit abnormal and strange, and i mean moreso than the "well youre neurodivergent and sickly" kind of abnormal that would be implied. like. Weird Kid sitting alone at lunch kind of strange. so its really cool to see Donna and feel less lonely, is what im saying. i wish there were more heroines like her for people like me nowadays, rather than the archetype being reduced to "archiac stereotypes" (which i both do and dont understand the logic of. it depends on context and the example given) and therefore shelving a type of heroine we dont see in a lot of contemporary media (in exchange for a heroine we didnt get to see often (if at all) in past media, the sassy and badass ones, i do get it, and im glad theyre being used more as they should have always been. there are a select few of both camps that feel like "women have to be as stereotypically masculine as possible to be worthy of being called 'a strong character'" when i think strong characters have less to do with personality and more to do with "do they direct the narrative's plot? do they have agency?". but i could be wrong about that and i am getting off-topic)

but yeah. just. overall: thank you for introducing Donna to be like she is. it means a lot to me to see a heroine like her in contemporary media. im really excited to see what youll do next ♡ but yeah, i know im babbling a lot here and you dont need to reply to this half, i just really wanted to stress my thanks and WHY you have my thanks ♡♡♡ i really appreciate having Donna sit at my metaphorical lunch-table with me, even if she has to go sit somewhere else later. its been really nice to be beside her

I had to take a few hours to think about everything to make sure I answered everything. But I should start off by showing my gratitude for the amount of time and effort you put into formulating this! So thank you, this was a really cool ask to receive <3

As for OCs, absolutely you can! I've already had a few who've made theirs, and I have no rules at all when it comes to shipping or self inserts or anything, as long as everyone is being respectful towards each other ^^

As for the disability aspect, I have a few key points that I want to explore in regards to especially deafness and muteness (is it called that? muteness?), but that's further along the story and will be introduced later! Also how song vs instruments work in this world is a part of the lore itself that'll be explained further down the line too, so no need to worry about our fellow mute or deaf/hoh peeps!

I have of course thought about mobility aids and other disability accommodations (because they can be born with defect, illnesses, and be injured pretty much like us, their bodies are a bit more fantastical but there are still rules) but i must admit didn't think further other than to give them similar mobility aids that we use. But clearly it would make more sense to make something more fantastical! I'll give it a thought! That's probably gonna be a fun design exercise ^^

I'm not sure if I can answer the entire ask in a way that does it justice, it's quite frankly the coolest message I've gotten, I'm gonna try and not let it get to my head (lol),

but i'm so glad you and seemingly many others seem to like Donna and appreciate her specifically for being sensitive and reacting strongly. It shouldn't be but it's really daunting to write female leads because as we know people just don't like women in media generally, but I eventually just got over it because I realized I was starting to write a character that demanded the audience cared and respected, rather than showing a story that I had fun telling, in a world worth exploring.

And not to spoil but I've already decided I do not want Donna to go through an arc where she's forced to abandon her emotions or go through something physically traumatic in order to "become tough" to be respected, that's not only overdone but lame and harmful wish fulfillment. So no worries in that department!

But anyways, I don't think I can properly say how appreciative I am of this ask!!! It really warms my heart that you and other people are going out of your way to send me asks about my little story that I came up with on a whim!!! It's truly the best compliment as a creator.

lately ive been seeing some ppl on sunny tumblr/twitter spreading the agenda of ryan reynolds dating mac n dee n also dennis banging him and it reminds me of this fic idea i had for a while but i dont think i'm ever gonna make it so i might as well just say it

dee brags about having a date with this really hot guy who's at the bar n mac immediately feels smth between them the guy starts making eye contact and he just knows there's smth there so later he comes up to dennis n asks him for help to steal him from dee. he wants him to help sabotage their date thats happening tomorrow n dennis says yes bc he doesnt care if mac wants to bang ppl, dennis does it himself n he knows it doesnt mean anything plus pissing off dee is a bonus. so the next day he goes to dee's apartment pretending he wanted to hang out, puts some laxative in her drink n she obviously doesnt go to the date. ryan reynolds goes to the bar to meet dee n surprise whos there? mac. so they go out n dennis is "fine" with it. until he notices for weeks how mac is always with his phone n won't stop smiling n not coming home until the next morning so dennis asks him whats this all about n mac tells him "remember that guy dee had a date with but he was obviously more attracted to me? so we've been seeing each other all this time n i think we're going steady. i think i might actually like this guy" dennis is shaking n almost throwing up n then mac says "i wanted to thank you bc if u hadn't helped me sabotage their date we wouldn't be together so yeah thanks dude". then dennis has his kendall roy breakdown in the bathroom. then he does everything in his power to break them up he inserts himself in their dates he takes macs phone to delete their texts making them miscommunicate n mac is pretty oblivious about it but his bf isn't n dennis feels he kinda asked mac to distance himself a little from dennis and now hes going insane he has no resources anymore. so he does the only thing he can think of: hits on ryan reynolds who ends up being a cheater n they fuck. dennis tells mac like it was the most natural thing in the world saying he got suspicious about him being a cheater n just wanted to check, hoping mac will accept it, breakup w him, move on n everything would go back to normal. but he doesnt. he gets rlly upset n goes "what the fuck is wrong with u??? u're not even attracted to men n u banged him just to ruin my first long term relationship" he obviously wouldn't put 2+2 together that dennis wasn't straight n not even cross his mind that he might be jealous. dennis tells him he did him a favor that he was looking out for him and says "now that i clarified everything will u just breakup n we all move on from this? bc its starting to annoy me". but for dennis' surprise mac doesnt let it go n gets to the conclusion that dennis wanted to break them up just bc he wasnt a priority in macs life anymore n wasnt doing stuff for him like he used to n that he couldnt control mac anymore. he gets rlly hurt about this but deep down also bc dennis had gay sex and it wasn't with him. dennis wants to tell him the truth that he was just jealous bc he loved him n it was supposed to be him dating mac not ryan, that no one could understand mac better than he did n that everything was so clear to him now but he doesn't. he doesnt say anything n just lets mac think that bc he doesnt have the guts, bc its easier to let mac hate him. mac walks out the door and now the cliffhanger n angst is settled. dennis has to do the ultimate big romantic gesture to get him back

vegans have to remember that from a non vegans perspective, we are a mariad of different definitions most of which are negative. and that within those definitions, is us being people who want to take away something that is part of their life

I think thats why ive gravitated more towards focusing on the non vegan aspect of veganism than the full on Earthling Ed approach. As in focusing on tradition, religion, and the possible and practical part instead of just trying to switch to more plant based eating.

Because its easy to spit the facts and provide resources and find alternatives, but i feel theres no active support and conversation for people who "cant go vegan". there is, but its nothing concrete and big. just individual conversations

Like someone who has a religion who requires the killing or use of an animal, or a tradition or a culture.

I just feel like these people are alienated, even though they are talked about in reference AND there are vegans who fall under that category of course. but because white/cis/straight/rich/abled types of ppl tend to get more focus, it drowns out everyone else out and even though i KNOW veganism is diverse sometimes it doesn't feel like it. then again, im only on tumblr

but i also feel the alienation can come from the non vegan too, with no willingness to have a conversation and figure these things out. but its also understandable like i said in the first paragraph.

obviously if the talk was with me, id have someone tell me their situation and it would be more about them talking and me listening, since i wouldnt be in the same identity as them and therefore cant have that "same hat" convo people have within their own community

- but also there NEEDS to be a place or network of different marginalized identities so that non vegans can talk with vegans of their same culture/religion/etc.

and i mean im just on tumblr so im limited in what i see. so maybe this exists?

idk how to explain this properly. i just never see anyone double down on these, and focus on people who's best includes animal products, like i do (not saying im better for doing that, i just feel odd one out)

i feel that the more symapthy and understanding for those situations would help drive out the people who claim to be vegan but arent. to get rid of people who try and say veganism is 100% plant based, who shit on others and are racist with their veganism.

i feel there is an emotional/mental/spiritual aspect not talked about enough.

i was watching Earthling Ed and this one guy said that the only options on campus were tofu and it was gross. now with the rest of the video, this guy probably doesnt try hard to find other options.

But i sympathize. But Ed said that theres always options and basically said that he could choose the tofu

But im thinking, what if the only option was mushrooms. I either eat that or dont eat. Now i wouldn't eat animal products, but mushrooms make me gag. I would dread looking forward to eating. it would ruin my day. it would drain me, and thus it wouldnt be practical for me to keep trying to eat it bc of them varying affects it has on my health (mentally or emotionally)

which may seem extreme, but you wouldnt get to say that someone in that situation can just suck it up. there has to at LEAST be sympathy and understanding.

now for someone else if they chose chicken instead, is it worth the life of a chicken? No, but it also shouldnt be at the expense of your wellbeing. This is why we tell people who have ED's who cant eat plant based, to focus on their wellbeing. because its all goes off of situation by situation. Its not about "the life of a chicken for aomeone who has an ED" its about doing your best within the situation you have, and to focus on doing what is necessary for you, and try and avoid unnecessary harm.

And if youve exhausted all other options then i dont think anyone can blame you. Because who is anyone to say that its possible for you to eat the tofu? Whos to say its possible for you to do something you say you cant do? We have to trust people with what they say and work with them, even if they are lying.

Thats why there needs to be symapthy and encouragement of self reflection. And to do that often. check in with yourself every month and ask if maybe you can change something that you couldn't before

and to be clear, when i talk about religion or culture im talking about the individual. Because within every religion or culture i assume, there are going to be people who view it differently. Religion and culture can be personalized while also being a community. i mean cultures change and religions change and its usually bc of one person. this is NOT to say we should aim to change an entire culture or religion, just simply stating that just because someone is from a religion or culture doesnt mean they cant..idk the word..go over their views and stance and see if theres room for change. like "do i actually believe this, or would an alternative work?" and sometimes they come to the conclusion that there can be no change, and sometimes they find things they can change. both are fine

So while culture and religion as a whole are not valid reasons to cause unnecessary harm (unnecessary being individually defined. this is about animal use only), individuals within that culture or religion get to decide whether its necessary or not

Because otherwise youre talking about pushing colonialist ideas and genocide, if you are to say that killing an animal isnt necessary for someones spiritual connection to their religion or culture. Or to say that wearing an animal isnt necessary for a ceremony. Because even though a life is taken, and it might not seen necessary to you, why do YOU get to decide for that person?

2 people within the same religion can have 2 different approaches to it, 2 different views. same with culture. i mean thats how religion and culture change over years. how traditions change

I just wish there was a place where ppl could talk about that with others like them, to get out their worries and their frustrations and also help establish even, a stronger connection by finding out what truly is a necessity for them.

I do know several explicit self identified kink blogs that only have text. Thats quite common now especially since the Great Tumblr Purge. Ive seen some whump posts floating around there. Ive also seen some kink posts floating around whump tumblr. Especially with posts like “wow I just want to see a cute boy get beaten up” or whatever, there can be so much overlap.

Idk what the ~solution~ for minor issues are. I dont think there is going to be a way to make sure youth who are on the internet looking for Hurt People Content will NEVER stumble across something sexual tbh. But I guess the best we can do is try to make it clear what isnt for them on our own blogs (aka label up front things that will have noncon or whatever, maybe tag “hey minors dont go thru OPs blog” if we’re concerned) but if they decide to go click on everyone who reblogs a post… thats out of our control. The internet is, for better or for worse, full of all kinds of people who will reblog whatever they please, and some of them might be horny about it.

And our staff are already trying to make this website have as few nsfw images as possible with varying success so… 🤷🏻

I think whats more important than wringing our hands about whether or not someone of some age has a sexual though is being kind and helpful to the people who are in our community. As a minor wading through all kinds of nasty shit online back in the day™️, I could have benefited a lot from a community like this. Open conversations about consent and ethics and sexuality would have done much more for me than trying to keep anything remotely sadomasochistic as far from me as possible.

I think those are some great points, thank you! I want to say that I think it makes complete sense to say, state that you have to be 18 or over to interact with your blog, or asking people with nsfw blogs not to interact because you’re a minor, but you also have to remember that not everyone is going to check this or realise this.

While people should be able to message others and ask them to not reblog from them or comment on their posts, I also think that blocking is honestly fine and good and people shouldn’t be afraid to block simply for personal comfort. It doesn’t have to be a punishment. It’s just a way of curating your own experience.

I definitely think that it’s futile and harmful even to pretend that teens and young people don’t know anything about kink or sex. I am well aware that minors are going to have personal interests and fantasies and may well be trying things with each other, and honestly I just hope that they’re having open and honest discussions about this with their friends and with trusted adults in their lives.

I’m not responsible for online minors who follow me and I don’t want to know about your sex lives and interests, but at the same time if you don’t have someone you trust who will talk to you about this at home or at school or at a youth group, I would rather people came to me so I could give them age appropriate resources and guide them towards a more appropriate and safe source of information.

I would absolutely rather that young people have informed safe sex rather than being told that they should never think about it until they turn 18 and doing it secretly and getting hurt or hurting someone else in their ignorance. And I am well aware that teens are going to read sexual content, and probably read things that aren’t meant for them too, and I think there’s a difference between exploring and figuring things out in your own mind and actively seeking out adults to interact with them about that content. And it’s on the adults here to draw those boundaries and at the end of the day, block minors who are interacting with them inappropriately.

So. What I think about you. It’ll take some telling to get there. Might get a bit sappy but here goes nothing.

So I’m a pretty new fan of wrestling, less than a year of proper watching still. It was a bit of a spontaneous thing, a friend made watching another sport would post things, and eventually I decided to take a peek and see what all the fuss was about. And in the end, I really enjoyed what I saw. I could get into that, but it’s not exactly important to where I’m going with this.

I don’t remember exactly when I first saw Kip. It was after his feud with OC, but still close to new years. And I thought, geez this guy is neat. Had no idea what was going on with any of his past work, I just liked the way he moved, I guess. So I thought, let me dig a little deeper into this. Eventually I ended up at your blog, and let me tell you, you were a hell of a resource to this baby fan. I’ve always been a bit nervous about following new people (had some bad experiences in the past I’m not eager to repeat) so I think I sort of lurked a while before I actually hit that follow, probably by accident honestly.

So then was Kip and Penny’s trip to Japan, and this is where I got introduced to Chris Brookes, who I’m not sure I even have words for how fond I am of him now. So I very much attribute that to you, and I’m pretty thankful for the introduction to an absolute bastard giraffe man who I adore.

Eventually I got a bit more settled into my new interest, started posting a bit on tumblr, reblogging gifs and the like. And then, just like how I got into wrestling, another fairly distant mutual joked about being interested in what they were seeing. So we talked a bit, I recommended some of what got me interested, and I think in the end that got me a new friend. In a way, I can wrap that back around to you, too.

I see that you struggle a lot. Sometimes it’s with writing, or art. You still make cool things, and I’m pretty awed by that. I’m looking forward to what you’ll make next. I doodled a rabbit on the back of a shopping list today, for the first time in months. It felt like a little victory. I wonder sometimes if your writing, your art, feels like that too. I’ll still celebrate it as if it is.

I’m not really sure how to end this. I guess I just want to say, we aren’t exactly friends, or at least, I don’t feel I can claim that we are right now. But I do think about you, and root for you. 10 Anti LO Asks

1. i see LO stans defend it as "it gets some people into myth! thats good!" like?? i dont think ive seen a group of readers less interested to learn the actual mythology than lo readers because theyre convinced that IS the truth and RS is so accurate about it. yeah they know it doesnt take place in modern times but why would they question hxp being consensual, demeter being the bad guy, apollo being a [redacted], and so on? they tried to edit the actual gods' wiki pages to match LO for gods' sake!

2. I remember awhile ago there was an ask about heads being used for height and I would like to add 7 heads is used for realistic height and proportions, so yeah, it's a bit weird LO Persephone only averages about 5-6 heads best with even shorter limbs that are not proportional to her (especially her legs for some reason? Her torso is usually too long too) while LO Hades sometimes goes beyond 8 heads (which used to show extreme fantasy proportions) with too long limbs. RS has an art school degree!

3. it really seems at this point lo artemis will end up a villain too because shes framed way too much as anti hades and close to her brother to not be. i can def see rachel pulling she's a "tragic" villain who didnt get enough love as a child and shes so jealous of poor persephone and what she has over her that we'll have to pity her while also wanting her to suffer for being the first person to stand in hxp's way. rachel loves her "twist" villains after all.

LO sees more and more clear to me it's about trying to make us feel bad for Hades and show he "deserves" Persephone as a symbol of his desires (a wife to not push back against him or his actions, a wife who does whatever he wants, a wife who is dedicated to giving him heirs and will drop everything for him, etc) while she's just ... there. RS can claim all she wants it's a story about Persephone but it's really about how Hades should get what he wants with Persephone being the ultimate "prize".

5. so persephone who was originally studying biology (which makes perfect sense for a spring goddess to study) now wants to give that up to align even more with hades??? rachel please stop claiming youre "empowering" persephone when you have literally ripped every unique feature from her to make her just hades 2.0. she has NOTHING left to her that was her own while he's given up nothing for her. Hades gets his perfect, docile wife and everything he wants while she has noting and bends to HIS whims.

6. i think rachel also thinks over-complicating the story makes it "deeper" which is not the case?? theres nothing wrong with a simple story (and tbh the hxp myth is straight forward in what to do with it) that overcomplicating it with politics, courtroom drama, attempts coups, and a full out WAR really?? adds nothing to it?? like its supposed to be about hxp getting together too so it even more is just filler that she doesnt have the skill to tackle.

7. i realize the assets arent the same between CSP and Photoshop but you can google greek photoshop brushes or greek architecture in sketchup and find countless free assets?? like theres so many resources at her disposal to at least make LO look aesthetically like it's greek (even superficially) but even that's too much of her. RS really desperately wants to come across as some deep, complex writer who is so well versed in genres and tropes and how to 'twist" them as if the majority of her writing isnt just playing the tropes completely straight with zero change, tumblr posts, memes from 2015, being overtly sexual in how how horny P is, and "borrowing" theories from fans who have more creativity than she does. rachel, honey, youre writing juvenile smut for kids, youre not reinventing the wheel here.

10. The thing with deconstruction in lit is that it's used to look at other interpretations of a story's meaning, but H/P's myth was very set it only had one meaning? RS is basically claiming she's found a secret better meaning in the text which was never there and claiming it as fact. That's why most call their H/P stories a "retelling" instead of deconstruction, bc retellings has the leeway to change whatever they want, but deconstruction means academic dissection, which LO very much is not.

UMM house is a HUGE genre that spans so many different decades and sounds and truthfully i dont know a whole lot about it LMAO like when it comes to jackin house or deep house (whatever that means anymore, it's changed so much). i think the go-to is Frankie Knuckles — Your Love. (RIP :( ) a smooth sensual classic that defines "deep" house, and to this day remains a mindblowing tune that'll stop you in your tracks if youre not primed for it. for chicago house, i get The Bucketheads — The Bomb stuck in my head all the time (yes, it is almost fifteen minutes long). and a post about house is not complete with the manifesto in Fingers Inc. — Can You Feel It? (Jack had a Groove)

on the party side of things, my staple is Hithouse — Jack to the Sound of the Underground for all its crazy samples and the intermediary between hip hop/freestyle and what would become rave. i know when WAP came out i was redirecting kids toward the roots of the sample (and ten years prior i had to cite that rihanna was sampling human resource — dominator in her track "cake"; most certainly not the other way around, as she and i were both toddlers when dominator dropped!) anyway i digress, another favorite of mine is Nightcrawlers — Push the Feeling On: more chill than the previous track but i imagine this is what made em groovers before they were ravers. A really long overanlysis of minecraft servers.

This will be my only warning, this shit is really long.

I promised this to @ivi-prism 2 weeks ago (hi, i am Svetla) but university said no and then i feel my notes were incomplete so i have to do more research.

So let's talk about anarchism and capitalism. As a future political scientist, really bugs me how the fandom and some content creators (im looking at you techno) misinterpret both theories.

Yeah this will be a overanalysis about the political, social and economic system of two minecraft servers. Why? Cause i like analysis things like this and finally i can solved what is the system of hermitcraft and thats make me happy.

Things to consider:

First im not native english speaker and im lazy so im not often write or talk in english so my typos can make Doc really proud.

Second i don't watch Dsmp i only know things about the server by the animatics, the constant information wich pop up here on tumblr, the crossover fanfics and the tiny vods that youtube insist play when i have activate automatic reproduction.

Third i tried to simplified this much as i can because this analysis i maded talking with my friends (also political scientists) and a former professor, so it got quite technical while i was writing it.

And finally don't take this seriously, I'm not trying to insult anyone, I only started this because the hermitfandom started saying that hermitcraft was capitalist and then everyone started comparing the Dsmp with hermitcraft saying anarchism vs capitalism, that's why the dsmp entered into this analysis.

Guys, seriously chaos isn't anarchism and "sucefully economic" isn't capitalism, even paid with "money" (diamonds in this case) isnt necessary capitalism.

First, mini glossary:

I understand a server like a Society/State (country) with Mr Weber definition. In really vague words a State is anyone that has a territory and has legal control of violence (the laws, no the abuse of authority).

I understand the private property as the hermits bases and/or shops (i suppose only base in dsmp? Idk)

I understand the mass production as the farms and resources.

Capitalism is a economic, politic and social theory, wich it considers private property essential and tends to monopolize the resources 'cause this it also considered private property.

Anarchy means "without government" it has its origin in the Ancient Greece. And Anarchism theory is just a society free from any political authority, but respecting the liberties of the others.

A Failed State is which one lose control of the legal violence, and can't provide the peace, essential human rights and the basics for a normal lifestyle to its people.

I think thats all the bored shit (i hope so). Now the interesting shit.

Why hermitcraft isnt capitalist?

Short answer, their idea of private property is not the same as capitalism has.

Long answer, even if they have their own stuff, they had a really strong sense of community and dont really care if someone take things from them.

We can see this in the beginning of season when Iskall take some mini blocks from Etho and he didn't really care (yeah, iskall "paid" him, but later i will explain this) or the multiple times Grian "borrow" things from Iskall and Mumbo in season 6 or Scar in season 7, the team ZIT constantly take things from each other and i can go on and on with examples, but the point here is this couldn't happen if they had a capitalist society because this would break the "private" part of private property and mass production.

Basically their friendship made so strong their sense of community that they are basically inmune to capitalism, Uncle Marx would be proud of them (not really, but would be funny). So they are communist? Nope, communist don't believe in private property and the hermits does.

But you just said-? I said they dont has the SAME idea of private property as capitalism does. They still have their bases, farms and shops, but for them their private property isnt sacred like in a capitalism system would be.

They're respect each other things because they appreciated the effort and values the time the person puts on their buildings and not only because doesn't belongs to them (and obviously cause theyre frends, but shush, this is a overanalysis, the obvious things doesn't have place here) i mean even for the shenanigans they are really polite and try to cause the least damage possible not because is not of them but because they valued the person.

Basically the famous honor code of hermitcraft.

What about the economic system and the shopping district?

Lets talk about the elephant in the room.

If Hermitcraft isnt a capitalist system, why they have a economic system based in diamonds?

Well, despite the exchange based in money for resources or services is a principal characteristic of capitalism, it isnt exclusive of that theory.

The money is a social consensus, cause barter has becomes obsolete and gold isnt cheap or infinite to use as payment. And basically, this is why we use money on this days (if you want to know the history of money ask to your trusted historian or Wikipedia).

What does this remind us? Yep, diamonds and iou's are a consensus too. When the 1.16 came out some hermits tried to change to netherite as payment and didn't suit, so they ignored it and continued with their current payment system.

And as much as Mr Smith likes to say that this is how the free market (and his stupid invisible hand) works, capitalism needs the monopoly of resources and people who works to pay for those resources.

But in Hermitcraft nobody really controlled the resources, anyone can go and collect their materials or made a farm. They just decided don't do it and go and buy it, because they save the time to go and collect for themselves, in other words they paid for the time.

Various hermits say they saved so much time go and buy the materials instead to collect themself or trade with the villagers (cause theyre the worst and all of us know it) thats why the barge and lookie lookie at my bookie are so profitable.

The shopping district it wasn't a thing before season 4, i dont really sure how it worked before, because i started watch in season six and sadly i have a boring adult life to saw the old seasons, but i assume it works in the same way that the trades the hermits does between them to accord a discount or a collab, and speak directly with the interested hermit or directly take it and pays what's considered it was fair, like iskall did with etho.

Like i said all what's happen in hermitcraft is a consensus, even the shopping district.

So yeah, that isnt a thing that would happen in a capitalism system, probably you would be dead, because "how are you dare to entered to my property", or in the jail, "because thats not yours".

So, what is hermitcraft?

For the surprise from much of you, Hermitcraft has an anarchist system.

What?! But their server is so peaceful, they don't steal from each other, they doesn't griefing, hows that possible?!

Well, the anarchism isn't really a violent political theory, at least in its beginning, actually anarchism is one of the most peaceful theories i studied, thats why i dont really thing it will worked in our society, but work in a server of 24 friends. Its too idealist.

I don't really study all of the thoughts corrents of anarchism because they are a lot. But the one we are interested is one of original thought corrent, The Mutualism, this in contrast with their cousin Communism doesn't believes the private property was something bad and considered like one of the rights from the individual, but different as capitalism because like i said before it wasn't sacred and communal things will exist to help others to start or recover.

Proudhon, one of it intellectuals, considered not paid for the work of the other it was a form to violate their liberties and feel horrofied with Marx when he said we have to abolish the private property.

The mutualists believes that each person should possess a means of production, either individually or collectively, and the products obtained would be trade in the market for the amount equivalent of their work.

This sound familiar, isnt it? Hermitcraft works in this way.

The thing with anarchism is they don't believes in a government over the people. And the hermits doesn't have one, yeah there's Scar being the mayor, but he isnt have a power over the rest and only is in charge of the "cowmercial district" even aquatown isn't part of his jurisdiction, his function is more of organization, like when we put a friend in charge to organizing part of a roadtrip.

It's the same with Xisuma figure, we all put him in a position of the admin of hermitcraft, but the truth is he isnt the only one with admin commands (but apparently some or all of them losed their admin status, at least in one of the last tango's streams, he hasnt it anymore) and various hermits said that he is more like an ambassador of them in the legal things of the server.

The hermits take all of they decisions in group and in the majority of things all of them needs to be agreed with the decision or they simple doesn't do it. And this is a characteristic of the mutualism because for them anyone are over the other.

And if you aren't already bored at this point and you put attention to what i wrote of the concept of private property in the mutualism, you would see it is practically the way hermitcraft works. They make their bases and farms, recolect resources and sell what they don't will use, buy mostly to save time and paid for the price what they considered fair. Yeah i know sometimes they do some farm specifically for one shop, but this is more "yeah, this is my thing" (Tango and Iron; Ren and wood) or a division of activities "if you do that, i do this".

The perfect utopia.

What about the Dsmp?

So what about the Dsmp, i entered here because i want to read of them and the only thing i read was about hermitcraft.

Well, the Dsmp only entered in the equation because much of you said they were an anarchist server, but i see it more like a "failed state" and when i was talked with an exprofessor he agreed with me.

I know the term of failed state is controversial and is almost obsolete, but is the best way to describe the server and stop said it is anarchist.

So why failed state and not an anarchist state? Because they have a government (or apparently multiples) a failed one, but is there, if it were an anarchist server wouldn't have one.

Usually the failed states are known for being violent and volatile places in which ones their governments can't provides the basics to their people to live, normally are places with ethnics conflicts, civil wars, authoritarian governments or states in wars. The most common examples are Haití, Somalia or Syria.

And i am sure you can see the similarities with the Dsmp, so yeah, theyre chaotic but not anarchist.

The wars ruined the stability from the server, have a multiple sides and a megalomaniac for admin, but the goverment still there and they are fighting for the power wich wouldn't happen if the server were anarchist because anarchism don't believe the power should be possess for someone.

The server simply is failed state wich struggles under a violent fight for power.

ok, that is not what i have been saying. 9. What is your favourite resource?

i mean, the resource i use most often is like. google lol. there are a lot of reference websites and tutorials, and tons of other stuff i dont use that would fall under the category 'resource', out there but i forget about them a lot and make my life harder by using google. although... theres a tumblr post somewhere that documents every corner of Five's bedroom in great detail and I owe that post my life

10. How has your style changed over the years? (Examples welcome!)

oh boy a memory one. lets see... I taught myself to draw using how-to-draw books, most of which had strong influences on my style, at least during the time i was using them. one of the earlier ones was a series of how-to-draw-manga books (that I've since been told aren't very good lol), so for a while even tho i didnt watch anime, my drawing style definitely looked like i did.

(this is my self insert Maximum Ride character from when I was like.... 10ish)

Since then the degree of anime in my art style has waxed and waned lol. At some point i got a book on how to draw fantasy by an artist that was definitely a furry, so the way I drew animals, especially dragons, had that furry-art-style look for a bit. I also had a deviantart wolves period (That second wolf is copied from the instructions in the book, which is why it looks so good lol)

I dont know how much of Seth's art style is present in mine, but I've copied his style since that Lemony Snicket series first came out in 2012 until... now lol (holy shit thats a decade what the fuck).

Another artist that had a huge effect on how i drew animals was Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, who you'll note is the only how-to-draw book artist whose name I remember. Her animals were a lot more realistic, and rather ethereal-looking, but she had (and has tbh) a HUGE influence on how i use watercolor. (I can't find any examples of watercolor so you're not getting any unfortunately)

At this point I also started being online, and found fanartists (mostly Percy Jackson fanartists at this point, tho eventually also Voltron) whose work I liked and whose styles I would borrow for a bit and discard. One of the artists I really liked was a furry, so this is furry art style 2 electric boogaloo

we're starting to understand the concept of proportions, folks!

here, you can see a drawing that is influenced nearly exactly the same amount by the perviously mentioned furry fantasy book, and Stepanie Law.

And of course, Steven Universe was huge for me. Now we're in "some of this art I still like" territory, or the last 3 years of high school

This is around when I got my tablet and started doing digital art! My art style is pretty fully formed by this point. I think the main things that have changed since then are that the Steven universe influences have gotten less obvious, i have never settled on how I like to draw eyes, and I've gotten like. better at it lol.

yes, the “it’s as both the right hand and the left hand have clutched the head to realize for the first time they are two parts of a single whole” quote is so deeply romantic and speaks to the larger dynamic between artemy and daniil, but i also think its very telling of the meta itself? especially one of artemy’s responses: “i get that feeling too, does this mean we’re alike?” because yes, you two are alike. you are being played by the same person, you are two hands on the same whole - the head being whoever’s playing the game. it really does never cease to amaze me how, even in a random piece of dialogue, the game’s chipping away at the fourth wall. it’s not always subtle but when it is, like in this instance, it just knocks you back.

i have a lot to say, not gonna lie. im not sure im going to get to say it all, but here goes.

ive met a ton of people on this site this year, and I love you all so much. if i forget someone, which i probably will, i'm sorry. i love you all the same. this might get stupid long because there have been a lot of days where i genuinely didnt think i would make it through this year, but i did! im proud of myself, and i love my friends so much for the support theyve given me, and so thats what this is, i guess.

Thinking about writing nonbinary Adrien. Any advice?

firstly, sorry this took me so long to answer, rl is kicking my ass

secondly, im really flattered to be asked!

the  immediate disclaimer: this isnt gonna apply across the board. everyone  in the world is having their own unique experience, and we cant know  them all (tho we can for sure really want to know most).  

but  i guess thats also where my advice starts- being nonbinary is different  for everyone.  some of us have dysphoria, some dont, some experience  social dysphoria or even vocal dysphoria and dont have body dysphoria, some have different combinations- i personally have  never felt all that attached to my body in the first place (its more  like its a car and the part thats ‘me’ is the engine), but i am also  very much not a visual person.  that would fit for adrien i think, since canonically he doesnt place much emphasis on looks, and understandably so.

gonna put the rest under a cut cuz it got kinda long

but i know  every time i hear a relative refer to me as girly or feminine or insist  that i wouldnt understand something because its ‘for men,’ i die a  little bit inside.  admittedly i do get a feeling of validation when i am referred  to as masculine and thats not always true when youre nonbinary.  in a  place where masculine and feminine are expressed to you as stubbornly opposed, tho, being referred to as your ‘opposite’ can be affirming.  i can see this happening for adrien, too. 

nonbinary people do not have to look androgynous.  whether or not you look androgynous does not affect whether or not you are nonbinary, and there are too many people who conflate the two.  nonbinary people can look however they like.

its  important to respect pronouns, but everyone also uses them  differently.  while i prefer they/them, and that seems increasingly to  be the norm, some people continue to use he/his or she/her or to switch  between them.  some people use neopronouns.  some people experiment  until they find out which ‘feels’ right.  if you have adrien, or any  character, still figuring out their pronouns, though, you should make  that clear so that it doesnt appear youre disrespecting pronouns  instead.  (i personally am just realising i would kinda like to see more stories where people dont yet know their pronouns). 

my main advice is to talk to as many nonbinary  people as you can (which you obviously have a handle on already!),  search out the nonbinary positive blogs here on tumblr- theyre full of  information- and figure out just how your version of adrien expresses  themself, or if, like a lot of us- like most of us, probably- theyre  still figuring that out.

and also, unless this is a story specifically about them coming out, to themself or to others, dont make it the focus. make it a part of the story. an important part, but not necessarily the most important part.

but at the same time, we dont have  enough coming out/figuring yourself out as nonbinary stories yet. this  isnt really at the same place as the ‘dont make gay characters all about  being gay.’ i cant say dont make it a definitive trait, because for a  lot of us it is.  but we dont have those stories yet, anyway; we  still need them. we can make nonbinary characters about being  nonbinary.  we could use those stories, still.

i dont have a list of  good resources, unfortunately, because i dont curate my resources that  well.  i look things back up on duckduckgo when i need a refresher (i am  not always good at avoiding google but i try to). i search the tags on  tumblr, because there really are a lot of good resources on here.  the nonbinary tag on my own blog is probably A Mess but it does exist. 

lastly, i am in the us and my experiences are coloured by that, as well as having immediate family that did not really enforce (or, uh, really explain, come to think of it) the concept of gender at all when my brothers and i were kids.  (we played lost boys a lot, we did not consider gender when picking what character we'd be for games- hullo i was donatello, also virgil (other people watched mighty max right), there was a vicious fight over the green ranger because Green Is My Colour You Dick, grandpa called us huey dewey and louie, brothers did not realise my cousins 'no girls allowed' fort applied to me, etc.  i have also gotten away with picking whatever damn side i want for girls vs. boys shit my entire life, for whatever reason.  it took me a while to figure out that this is probably not the norm).

sorry if this is a duplicate of another ask! tumblr has been eating my asks recently and i want to make sure it sent. do you have any advice or resources for feeling more comfortable with your body? i dont live up to standards of how perisex bodies look or function and i feel very uncomfortable and almost frustrated with myself. another worry thats resulted from that is fear around relationships/intimacy. im worried about how partners will react and since i deal with pain relationships are a point of internal struggles and almost resentment with my own body that i dont know how to handle. (2/2)

Hi! 

First off I want to say that I really relate and I think a lot of other intersex people do too-it can be so hard to feel comfortable and okay with our bodies when we’re constantly faced with messages that we’re abnormal and defective. I struggle with that myself-it can be so hard to undo my internal judgement about what my body is supposed to look like and how it’s supposed to function. But it’s so true that our intersex bodies are whole and beautiful just the way we are, and it’s okay to celebrate our intersex bodies. There’s nothing shameful about being intersex and even though I do feel ashamed a lot of the time, we’re allowed to be proud of being intersex. 

Some things that have helped me with intersex body positivity is following intersex activists on twitter or instagram and seeing them share their experiences and their intersex pride was really helpful to me. Some activists I like are Sean Saifa Wall, Pidgeon Pagonis and Hans Lindhal. If people have any more intersex activists they want to link down below, please add on! Following intersex positivity tags on tumblr can also be a little helpful.  

I was doing some research for things about intersex intimacy, because I think resources about intimacy while being intersex would be so helpful and is something I personally really want, but I couldn’t find anything. It’s hard enough to navigate our bodies on our own, and when considering navigating intimacy and sex with other people that’s just a whole other layer of difficulty. I wish that this resource did exist because I think we could really use it. 

Overall, all I can really say and suggest is that it’s important for us to remind ourselves that we’re not broken, we’re not shameful, we’re not defective and that our bodies are whole and natural and even beautiful. Becoming closer to other intersex people has helped me to feel more natural about being positive about my intersex body. And on days when I can’t be positive about my own body, just reminding myself that my body is good for other reasons, like that it nourishes me or keeps me alive or is strong, and that being intersex is just a natural part of the rest of my body. When it comes to intimacy, sex, and relationships, I try to remind myself that there are people out there who will love and respect me for exactly who I am, and that i deserve a partner who loves and respects me and my body. I don’t have to settle for people who fetishize or are not accepting of my intersex body.
