Chandra lies to Hal because he cares about him and doesn’t want to say the harsh truths of the situation. Wiping the memory of his malfunction potentially did more harm than good though the movie doesn’t particularly address it just has everyone act suspicious of him and the poor guy has no idea why.
Then again when they need the discovery to act as a booster, lying to cover up the harsh truth that they’re essentially leaving him to die. Except this made the situation ten times more stressful than it would’ve been if he were honest… Hal is logical and more importantly he loves working with people, it’s about being respected enough to be told the truth. Once he is he willingly sacrifices himself, all he really wanted was to know what was going on and be trusted again.
Can you imagine “what happened? Where’s my friends? Why’s everyone looking at me like that… I’m sorry?” But not knowing what you apologized for just that there’s a huge gap in your memory and no one will tell you why.
However I can understand why Chandra wouldn’t tell Hal, after all the last time he was faced with a contridiction he had a mental break and killer people. Finding out he , a machine *incapable* of mistake harmed people? Yeah no that’s not going to be a pretty situation.

hi yes if ruereguard are the patrochilles parallel then percabeth are the Odysseus and Penelope parallel BUT (and I cannot stress this enough) annabeth is Odysseus
here's why:
Odysseus is a character who is the epitome of hubris. he's the smartest person in every room he walks into, he was the main strategist for the entire Greek army, everyone was looking to him for guidance and approval. he's Athena's champion (and pet liar) but eventually loses favour with her because pride comes before the fall. the overarching story of the odyssey is that he's trying to go home to his wife and will do whatever it takes with his cunning and wits to get there over the course of 10 years.
sounds awfully familiar to Annabeth Chase, favoured daughter of Athena, general and main strategist of CHB, smartest person in the room, prideful, strong and the person everyone looks to for approval. Athena holds annabeth in high regards but will put her aside the moment she "embarrasses her". and not only did Annabeth spend months trying to get Percy back, but its approx. 10 years from her arrival at CHB and the end of HoO, in which her overarching goal is to create something permanent - and she achieves that, though changed in unimaginable ways.
Percy and Penelope may be a bit of a stretch until you look at the main thing the two of them have in common - their unending and unconditional loyalty. Penelope sat and weaved day in and day out for maybe 20 years as men ate her out of house and home, because she would not abandon her husband and the hope that he would return home. by all accounts, it could have been easier for her to simply accept whatever offer suited her most as queen of Ithaca but she didn't. and we know that loyalty is our boy Percy's fatal flaw, and that one of the only things he could remember was annabeth.

THEY’RE HERE!
All of them are pre 2000 prints so they have the nice covers, apart from 3001 but I think that’s due to it being the last.
I like how the second book is huge, third goes down a bit, fourth is big again gives me the vibe:“Ok we’re done WAIT I HAVE MORE TO SAY—.”

what if a child of Poseidon was a fan of EPIC the musical.....and was an Ody defender? Like their mother showing them epic as a way to get them familiar with the story of the Odyssey and them being a huge fan of Ody and his journey to the point they majorly freak out when a new saga is going to release (cough cough me). Needless to say Poseidon may not be too happy about it
