kung fu panda 4 review - spoiler free

it was solid, not as good as the first three movies, but the og triology set the bar so high even a 'not as good' movie is still a fun watch. The animation is beautiful and you get quite a bunch of awesome action scenes out of it

zhen is a lot more likable when not voiced by awkwafina (croatian dub saved me ✊️) but even that wont save her from her character being pretty bland. ironically the same criticism for her design could be applied for her character as well, not bad, likable enough, just fails to stand out and ive seen it done better a lot of times already

chameleon... oh boy... so much potential, such incredible built up, such luckluster execution... ill talk more abt her in spoiler section, but honestly she was the weakest link of the movie

dont get your hopes up for furious five, they only really exist as a cameo, what you will get is mr ping and li being a very married couple and personally if theres anything worth seeing the movie for its them (still im hoping for at least a short abt the furious five, cmon theyve been non existent since kfp 3)

the pacing was too fast, and there were too many comedic and too little serious moments, glad im not the only one that noticed

ive seen a lot of complaints about tai lung and other past villains not being in the movie enough, but honestly im happy for that bc its not their movie, they all had their own movies to shine and i really feared this movie would rely too much on them to carry the hype and im glad that wasnt the case. PLEASE stop asking film studios to spoonfeed you familiar content

the chameleon rant

you know, i believe the kfp movies are heavily carried by their villains. they're the ones that set the tone, bring the stakes, and not only are they a foe for po to defeat but represent his internal conflict (tai lung being self acceptance, shen being overcoming grief and kai being self discovery) so to have the villain be the movie's weakest spot is... not great at all

firsty, the chameleon is the first movie villain in the franchise to not have any beef with any of the main characters (like tai lung had with shifu, lord shen with po and kai with oogway) and that couldve been great, give us a villain that doesnt care about po or anyone else and is just doing their own thing, its something new and an unexplored territory, but then they do nothing with it.

what does she want? to rule the valley of peace? all of china? ok and then what? the city shes already rulling doesnt look like its doing too bad to me. why should i care about her being defeated? yeah shes mean, but where are the STAKES

and how does she reflect po's conflict? because its about accepting change and she's a chameleon? weak, that only connect on paper and only barely. is it how she was never accepted to train kung fu because of her size? that's such a lame motive. really? not a single kung fu place wanted to take you in for your size? in a franchise full of all the different characters of all different shapes and sizes being kung fu masters? yeah ok sure

what i did like about her is how they made her get her way through manipulation and intimidation. she's not strong, she's not a skilled fighter, she's not inherently scary, but she uses smoke and mirrors to intimidate people around her and manipulative tactics to get her henchmen to listen which ties nicely into her shapeshifting abilities, just wish theyve done more with it, show us how she spreads horror stories about herself, show us the influence she has over the townspeople, show us just how manipulative she is of zhen, hell have her be all kind and nice to her in moments to bait her to stay under her wing (yk as abusive parents do)

nothing much more i have to say so spoiler part was rly just abt the chameleon but i needed to rant abt her more in depth bc i had high hopes for her

Long ass rant abt tumblr under the cut lmao I’m feeling pissy and I need to get this out

Deadass thinking abt just. Filing away or screenshotting anything important in my blog (likes, reblogs, etc) and then just. Deleting and never coming back lmao. Staff are clearly so far up their own ass they make a donut and I think the only way to get their head back out is to blow their brains out tbh. I mean they are racists, terfs/transphobes, amd neo nazis (or at the very least do nothing to stop them, and well. You know what they say abt sitting at a table w a hate group.)

Amd then there’s the issue that even if they were none of that, they run the site like children. Constant tantrums when they don’t get 100% overwhelmingly positive feedback, outright ignoring or hiding critique of any kind, and make constant little “non-updates” to give the impression of progress when all they’re doing is the equivalent of a kid pretending to clean up their room by picking and putting down a toy and squeaking floorboards when they think mom’s listening.

Like idk who told these guys that trying to make a “cool guy” persona and attempting to facilitate a parasocial relationship w their userbase meant that they were gonna unconditionally get the entire site to turn into yes men to slobber all over every stolen merch drop isn’t gonna work the way they want it to. They SUPPOSEDLY run a professional social media company, there’s gonna be ppl not satisfied with crumbs. And there’s gonna be ppl who are rude abt it or aren’t happy no matter what! It’s a fucking huge website that’s just gonna happen! Taking those criticisms personally and shutting down is a sure sign that they cannot run a large platform effectively At All. Part of being able to run a social media website is being able to accurately sort through feedback to find major issues, and prioritize fixing them from order of importance and feasibility. For example. Getting a bunch of complaints that you have, idk, a huge and thriving nazi community on the site that openly targets ppl? Set that on number 1 priority and get to work updating site policy and community guidelines to clearly reflect that they are not welcome here, and set a team of moderators (who should have already been alerted to the issue) to crack down on deleting and banning blogs that align or display with that shit. (There is the company issue of making sure that the moderation team has sufficient support for all the horrible shit they’ll have to sift through, compensating w company paid for mental health services available during all work hours. But tbh, every single social media site needs to do this. Moderation is exhausting and can be traumatizing. Make sure to make those conditions clear, and to hire enough moderators that no team has to work on sorting through heinous, traumatizing shit for more than they should.) Get a a bunch of complaints that the search bar is a few inches lower than it was last update and it’s throwing them off? Set that priority lower, but communicate clearly in update logs that it is low on priority lists for now, and not to expect an immediate change. I could give at least 100 more “hypothetical” issues and how to at least give the bare minimum at dealing with them. Getting complaints that the new ads are seizure hazards? Prioritize high. Getting complaints that ppl would like the ability to have animated blog backgrounds? Prioritize lower. Experimental or new features can begin to be implemented when there isn’t a leaning tower of stinking shit threatening to rot the website from the ground out. Hire enough ppl to be able separate significant work into teams; new features and bug fixes team, moderation team, networking team, etc. I’m sure if they read this they’d have a thousand excuses for why they don’t do this, but I highly, highly doubt any of them actually hold up. The fact is that it’s common sense, and Tumblr seems to exclusively hire ppl who don’t have that. And sadly, there’s no fucking fix for stupid. And I’d rather not be caught off guard when this place inevitably goes up in flames and eats it’s own code like an ouroboros snake.

9: worst part of canon ..... oh thats hard i really like chnt its hard to pick out a Worst Part . most of the things i dont like are characters i want to see more of or things that are really well written but that *I* dont like cough cough elijah . hmmmmmm . this is hard . uhhhh . what do i DISLIKE in chnt thats not fanon . like id say i dislike that so far the main antags appear to be both young attractive sexymanny types and i hope they vary that later on? but thats like HEAVILY influenced by how annoyed i am with the treatment of adam and elijah in the fandom so idk how fair of a critique that is and we've also seem so little of adam and the show as a whole that it seems in poor faith to judge him absed on what is about 80% fanon . so my only gripe that i can think of immediately isnt really good media criticism .... maybe ill have more complaints as the show goes on

10: worst part of fanon . may be predictable based on the above response but oh my god i hate fanon elijah so much . i HAATEEEE him more than i hate canon elijah and i HATE canon elijah . i hate him!!!!!! i hate him when hes sexyified i hate him when hes goofy and silly i hate him when hes just a little guy i hate him i hate him i hate him!!!!!!!!!!! it takes an incredibly interesting villain who is absolutely vile and it makes him boring as hell!!!!!!!!!!! add that to the fact that fanon elijah overwhelms literally any content for just abt any character you might actually care about especially the women and i am frothing at the mouth

Raydrin - 37. What’s their favorite thing about their significant other, if they have one?

godddd, i could go on forever abt everything raydrin loves in jórunn (not that they’re even ‘together’ yet… poor guy is just kind of obsessed)... BUT if i had to pin down his ‘favourite’ thing about her, i think he really, deeply admires her tenacity and self-respect. Jórunn believes she deserves good things in life despite belonging to a society which has always looked on her unkindly, and she refuses to bow down to those who don’t treat her with dignity. Equally, she rises to the challenge of being dragonborn with (relatively) little complaint. These traits—resilience, self-assuredness, dignity etc—are ones that raydrin feels he lacks in himself, so in jórunn he finds them both inspirational and attractive

Mathyas - 49. Do they think about what they wear or do they throw on whatever they find first?

Mathyas spends 90% of his time on the road, so he has like one outfit and maybe a change of underclothes… however, pre-fic, when he was a councillor’s son in blacklight and an important redoran dignitary, i do think he would have given his appearance a lot more thought. it was important for him to look presentable, smart, in keeping with the latest fashions etc, but never vain or extravagant because the redoran are, at their core, a rather austere people. His personal tastes reflect that; he would have tended towards clothes that were smart but plain-ish, darker colours, conservative, etc.

Jórunn - 55. Who do they look up to most?

Jórunn’s life was always rather lacking in role models, but the one exception would be jastia, an older prostitute at the brothel who played a significant part in raising jórunn and turned into a mother figure of sorts. Jastia was the only person who ever showed jórunn much sympathy, and fought for her when jórunn came ‘of age’ and the madam wanted to put her to work. Jastia lost that argument in the end, but jórunn would have had a much worse time of it had Jastia not been there with open arms and words of comfort. She was killed on the streets by an imperial legion guard when jórunn was about 16. But jastia was very influential on Jórunn’s development; she was kind and generous despite her rough lot in life, and I think jórunn would have turned out a lot more bitter had it not been for jastia's example

Cassathra - 60. What are some of their simple pleasures?

Cassathra has strong extrovert tendencies, so her simple pleasures are largely related to spending quality time with friends. Laughing until her stomach hurts, having a good moan or rant over tea, going on long walks when the weather is nice, physical intimacy and comfort, etc… she’s definitely a people person :^)

✧ naturally, he runs through the potential situations in his head of what could be bothering his lil baby as he goes to lift him out of the crib so he can figure out how to help. but there’s nothing clearly wrong and the crying just does not subside, even after nanami walks around the room for a lil bit with him in his arms and tries his best to calm him down

✧ the longer the baby cries, the more worried he becomes that a) you’ll have to wake up and come into the nursery to sort things out, and that b) his baby just doesn’t even like his dear dad that much. either way, he’s v tired n stressed

✧ when you wander into the room, rubbing your weary eyes, you can see the look of disappointment and failure clearly present on his face and sit down beside him to help him out

✧ as soon as you hold your son in your arms, the tears start to subside, but nanami’s worries only deepen since he’s now entirely convinced that his own child hates his guts. and for what? he’d taken care of him and was helping raise him! he wants answers!!

✧ you know how frustrated he must be with himself, so, after the baby’s calmed down again, you place him back in nanami’s arms n start cooing sweetly to him in the hopes he chills out

✧ there’s this long moment of tension during which nanami waits for the baby to start crying again since he’s got this look of uncertainty in his lil eyes like he’s just as confused as nanami is

✧ but thankfully, he reaches up to place his lil hand on nanami’s nose and open his mouth in awe (nanami’s wondering what’s so curious abt his nose). In response, he presses a couple kisses against his son’s cheek that make him smile, and suddenly all is well. baby is content and no longer crying, nanami is happy, mission accomplished!!

✧ “see? you have nothing to worry about, baby,” you reassure him and peck his cheek, “he was just being a bit picky. he loves you very much, I’m sure.”

✧ he pulls you closer for a kiss and gently places your newborn back in his crib when he finally drifts back off to sleep before crawling back into bed with you, wrapping his arms around you, and goin on a lil rant abt how much he loves you and your son until you tell him he needs sleep bc he’s borderline delirious

✧ fatherhood is definitely a bit of an alien concept to him, that’s for sure. but, since you gave birth, the two of you have been learning a lot together

✧ at first, he was a bit slow to get up and tend to your child in the middle of the night since he wasn’t sure what to do, but he learned to figure it out bc he absolutely did not want his sweet lil wife to be overworked. now, he’s up rather quickly to make sure one of his fav gals is taken care of

✧ he does what he’s been taught to do and checks for any obvious reasons as to why his newborn is so disgruntled that she’s wailing after he lifts her out of the crib. however, when he can’t find an apparent reason, that’s when he starts gettin a lil frustrated with himself. he’s a dad!! he should be able to figure out what’s upsetting his lil girl!! he thinks

✧ the lack of sleep isn’t really helping his thought process either, so he resorts to holding the baby in his arms and cooing and singing to try to calm her down. but ends up mumbling little complaints like, “I know my singing’s not great but really, baby girl?” or trying to reassure her (but more himself) by saying, “don’t worry, your dad’s got this. he’s gonna figure it out. right? right?”

✧ by the time you enter the room, he’s damn near had a breakdown bc he absolutely does not want his sweet lil girl to grow up hating his guts and he wants to be the best dad ever (so he can brag about his family goals to everyone n be like yeah suckers I really do have it all haha)

✧ but you come with his saving grace and the one thing he’d forgotten in his exhaustion: a bottle of milk. he tries to hand the baby over to you, but you give him the bottle instead and drape a burp cloth over his shoulder so he can do it on his own in the name of bonding

✧ once he starts feeding your newborn, the crying comes to an end, and she instead gazes up at naoya with wide, delighted eyes while she sips. he breathes out a deep sigh of relief when he moves her to his shoulder and rubs her back for a bit

✧ since you know he was definitely stressing before you intervened, you give him some comforting words n kisses. “she was just a little hungry, babe. you’re doing a great job and I’m sure she appreciates it. I know I do”

✧ to this he gives you a peck on the forehead before doing the same with your baby once she’s all content and ready to doze off again, and the two of you snuggle while waiting for her to settle

✧ during this time, he ends up falling asleep too and you admire the sight of both of them snoozin together before putting your daughter back in her crib and leading naoya back to bed, where he murmurs sweet nothings into the crown of your head until both of you knock out for what you hope is the rest of the night

“Peter hand me the-hand me the Angel.” You point as today was the day you wrap up the tower in decorations. It wasn’t truly until Nat made it a point to decorate for the holidays, staring off with a half dead tree and now years later to a beautiful tower.

“Here you are.” You stand up on the stool as he hands you the final piece to the smaller, more intimate tree in the common room. A large 10 foot tree was downstairs in the main lobby but for just the family it was smaller.

“It’s so pretty.” You say in awe. Peter never had a large, fancy Christmas. May was lucky to even get the boy five presents some years and your family wasn’t much of one until you found the tower. Now Christmas was the way you dreamt of it as a little girl.

“Mistletoe...” Wanda points as she walks past the two of you. Both looking up there is the plant that hangs from the door. Peter growing a light shade of red and you feeling your body tense as you two were still the akward teens.

“I-I didn’t know she was going to do that we don’t have to—“peter starts but you quickly peck his lips and he pulls you in for more. His hands find peace in your soft green sweater and you play with his curls.

“No.” Was all Bucky said as he lifted his hand to snatch the flower from its place. Peter shook as he was deeply afraid of the soilder. Walking away and throwing the plant on the table not wanting to see the two teens kiss.

“Disgusting, we should put an age limit on that thing. I do not want to see those two kissing. Tony can we please—“

“Sam leave them alone it is okay to say you are lonely.” Wanda snaps as she is too far into spirit to listen to a complaint as sam starts a rant.

you laugh as you rest your head on peters shoulder. Caressing his face you kiss his cheek.

“What’s wrong?” You look at him and he shakes his head.

“Nothing, nothing, it’s just....I guess I always thought it was me and May you know? Our small tree that she would save up and buy for us and somehow it would almost always catch on fire but now...now it’s you and it’s like heaven.” He says and you bite back a smile as you hold his hand.

“C’mon, I want you to open a present early.” You drag him back to your room.

The rest of the night was filled with buttery popcorn and sweet hot chocolate. You cuddle close to peter as the fire place roared and the team argued over Christmas movies. You truly couldn’t have asked for anything better

long rant abt sh.ades of m.agic under the cut sorry

i’m 150 pages into the last book and honestly.............. this trilogy not that good lmao. maybe some my complaints will be resolved by the end of the series but seeing how things have gone so far i really doubt it. the premise and worldbuilding were so promising and i really like the whole concept of the four londons, i like kell’s character design and coat, and i like the way blood is used for magic but that’s where the good stuff ends. it’s a shame that the plot and cast can’t hold up to the core concept. lila is SO annoying and the way that the only major female character in these books has a hUGE ‘im not like other girls’ complex and actively derides other women and anything feminine and it’s presented as girl power is so bad and cringe. she walks around doing whatever illegal or self-entitled things she wants with no regard for the consequences and she never faces any consequences, from the law or from the narrative or from the people who care about her. her relationship with kell is weird too like they met and barely interacted before she kissed him and they suddenly start acting like their whole world revolves around the other. she’s sooooooooo mary-sue gifted like kell has trained his whole life to do magic so of course he’s amazing but lila has two (2) lessons with some annoying pirate and suddenly she can go toe to toe with kell and do insanely difficult magic without even knowing what she’s doing. it’s bad writing brent.

i do like kell though, even if he is a little boring, and i like the tight bond he has with his brother. i think kell is the only person with any common sense in this book and he’s a breath of fresh air. but DO NOT GET ME STARTED on the blatant favoritism the king and queen show for their biological son. the way they treat kell as inferior leaves such a bad taste in my mouth like it’s bad enough that you would have a blatant favorite but on top of it kell saved rhy’s life three different times and they can’t even say thank you or acknowledge his sacrifice?? they’re so cold to him and for what. kell basically died to save his brother and the parents respond by essentially grounding their adult son and it’s gross. and then rhy is every pretty flirty privileged boy stereotype rolled into one and he grates on my nerves and what’s really bad is that he has the EXACT same personality as his love interest which makes reading these books SUPER WEIRD because the two of them look physically similar and have become literally interchangeable in my mind. adding alucard (i hate that name so much omfg) to the cast was just adding a second rhy to the mix and he seems to have very little bearing on the plot. would it kill authors to not make every bisexual character a flirts-with-anything-that-moves stereotype. you should be ashamed of yourself.

also literally nothing of importance happened in the second book until the very end and there was actually no point to that entire tournament and most of the stuff could have been cut. holland is the only mf in this city i respect and the only one with nuance and a compelling character. i feel so bad for him bc he just cannot catch a break and everyone hates him so much even though he was being controlled against his will, and the other characters know this but they still abuse him. and there r a bunch of unexplained issues with the magic system (like how did athos dane summon a big snake???) and the power scaling (or maybe it’s just all thrown off because of lila’s supernatural gifting).

it feels to me like schwab was just like ‘uhhhhhhh what do people like these days ... people like boys with mysterious backstories so i’m uhhhhhhhh literally never gonna explain how my main character got his powers or where he came from. people like uhhhhhhhhhh strong female characters so my one and only female character of importance is gonna hate everything about being a woman. people like diversity so im gonna give them uhhhhhhhhh two horny bisexual poc men who are nigh indistinguishable from each other’ and hoped the story would write itself

#for a moment i thought maybe im just getting old and jaded and ive outgrown ya but then i remembered THIS IS ADULT FICTION #this is shelved alongside gaiman and pratchett and sanderson and le guin so like. step it up miss schwab #i really liked vicious #like A LOT #vengeful didnt do it for me tho #so i had hoped that i would like schwab's more recent stuff even if i didnt like vengeful #but nah #i should go read some stiefvater next because her prose and characters are incredible incredible INCREDIBLE #some of schwab's stuff reads kinda fic-ish #and not the tightly wrought fics that blow your socks off #it's like...... common phrases and conventions that i p much only see in amateur online spaces when describing characters or writing romance #i don't really know how to explain it i need to just go to bed

I mean, I get why the characters are so lacking! Tales from the SMP as a whole doesn't have deep and interesting characters because they're ultimately plot devices and side characters for Karl. We rarely tune in for the story. We tune in for our favorite content creators and how they'll play their parts and for the ending. For Karl's snippet of lore.

The tales started out as a fun way to ease tension from the main lore and give us interesting filler episodes. They evolved into a way to house Karl's lore while trying to keep the fun episodic filler we need.

Some criticism is absolutely necessary. Karl has done two murder mystery episodes with different settings. Kinda boring. Quackity. oh GOD Quackity. He doesn't fit the tone of these new tales and can't seem to reel himself in. Lost City of Mizu? I hated Quckity in that. Karl kept trying to move things along and Quackity would run off or start a bit that dragged on for too long. When he died the pacing of the story speed up to a normal pace that became more interesting! My biggest issue with tales will always be Quackity.

Sorry for this long rant but I think that TSMP gets a lot of unwarranted criticism for its characters and I'm tired of people wanting more deep characters when that's not what TSMP is for.

i get what youre saying but like thats kind of the reason i dont like it very much! characters existing just to be plot devices and side characters is kind of boring :p im not really a huge fan of the cast karl usually has on and i think its formula just isnt very interesting? the pressure to come up with new characters to play IMO makes all the jokes and bits everyone does fall a little flatter than normal. like if youre tuning in for the ccs isnt it better if theyre playing interesting characters? that gives them a lot more to work with!

i also think that tftsmp existing just to flesh out karls character in the actual dsmp is a little.. i dont know i feel like a better way to do that would be to have more frequent character interactions on the server itself. like the way tales and the dsmp are set up kind of makes for 2 different karls. theres silent cinematic in-between karl and then theres the actual character karl acts as which is basically just the guy in a setting. the character he actually rp’s as is very very different from the character he plays in the in between segments, which i find kind of jarring. theres just such a tonal disconnect between tales and the IB :(

i guess my main issue is that tales is sort of placed as Character Development which makes it stand out a little more when the characters actually played within it are lackluster. i agree that the point is to just entertain and be funny but i think its structure kind of gets in the way of that. ive made a post abt it before i think but like basically its just trying to do too many things at once and they all get in each others way :(

again - pasting this from another deleted post - thank you guys for tolerating all those posts. i know that isn't what anyone is here for and i'll clean it up later/tomorrow, but the advice i've gotten has helped me immensely so i appreciate the opportunity to talk about it and figure out my next move with some help. i really can't do this kind of thing alone considering my history and health so like. it does mean a lot to get some perspective.

i’m leaving the bigger posts i made about it up (but putting under cuts too, to keep them small) just to preserve the timestamps for when i made them and any advice i might’ve received in the replies. archiving, etc.

so! i’m not going to let it go in terms of giving up, but i’m also not going to waste my weekend stressing over it. just gonna wait until monday to see what happens when we talk and go from there. because unlike this clown, i actually have some self control and keep my word! who knew how easy it was to just do that.

thanks! i actually have no IRL friends save for ren who moved up here to live with me after a long internet friendship so i'm relying pretty much solely on internet pals and my mom kdjdkdjd the call did not go well because HR was actually like more or less nice (though she did say "i can promise you this is not a discriminatory company we always want to help" which was hilarious and so i had to say oh yeah i believe you, but these two chucklefucks don't seem to feel the same way about upholding those policies.) and so i might get screwed into quitting because she might actually try to get me the accommodation, even though now the issue is less me begging for that and more me reporting them for this treatment.

now i'm being asked to call HR again hm!

update: it went well enough that she told me to stay home for the week and she’s going to pay me for it so that’s very nice but who knows what’ll happen now. gonna end up consolidating all my posts and replies into one of the previous posts just to keep it all there i guess!

Kaminari Denki

He was just being an airhead like he’d often be and he did not even for a second realise that his girlfriend was actually in the room next door and that the door was wide open, so she was able to hear every part of the conversation he was having.

“She’s sweet and all, but she’s so annoying sometimes.” He complained to his friend, Ashido. She just nodded slowly, not really knowing what to say. Kaminari leaned backwards to lie down in his bed and looked up at the ceiling.

“Like I know we’re a couple but she always wants to do hang out with me after school and she always texts me.” He groaned which made his companion frown slightly. Sure, couples have their ups and downs and all but she didn’t think he should tell her this.

“Denki, I don’t think you should just say stuff like that..” she said to him.

Both of them had no idea that y/n could overhear every word of their conversation. So there she was, in her room, with tearful eyes as she tried to process the things her boyfriend had said about her, trying to understand his complaints.

Was she really that annoying? Why didn’t he tell her if she really was? Did he not trust her enough? Did he think she wouldn’t take it into consideration?

She stopped thinking when she heard her boyfriend say goodbye to Ashido. Maybe she should confront him about this... that would be the best thing to do, right? They could just talk it out. She slowly got up and took a deep, slow breath before walking to the room next door. The door was open so she didn’t even bother knocking.

“D-denki?” The blond haired boy smiled when he heard her voice, but soon his face changed into a frown upon seeing her teary eyes and pouting lips. He got up and walked over to you.

“Hey, what happened?” He asked, gently resting his hands on her waist. She told him about what she had heard and his eyes widened. Before she knew it, a billion apologies and hugs were thrown at her and she chuckled softly.

“You know I can be really stupid sometimes... will you forgive me? I’ll do anything!” He said. At first she just poured, but then her face changed into a small smirk.

“Anything?” She asked him sweetly, hiding her hands behind her back. He just nodded, making her giggle.

“I didn’t think you meant this.” He whined as he looked at his girlfriend’s concentrated face.

“Stop moving! You don’t want your nails to look ugly, do you?” She just said as she held his hand a little tighter.

“Just don’t tell my friends about this.” He mumbled, making y/n laugh softly.

“Its not that bad. Taking care of yourself is normal, soon your skin will shine even brighter like a cool hero!” She said as she finished painting his pinky finger.

“And?” She said as she showed him his fingers. Y/n had decided to paint them yellow and make small black lightning bolts to decorate them. The face mask he was wearing was a pickachu sheet mask (probably doesn’t exist but let’s pretend it does).

“You look lovely!” She said happily as she clasped her hands together and nodded in satisfaction. Kaminari just sighed softly.

“The sheet mask isn’t that bad actually.” He muttered, making her smile softly.

“So, am I forgiven now?” He asked his girlfriend. She pretended to think deeply for a while before looking back at him and nodding, a smile plastered on her face.

“Totally. But don’t you ever dare say stuff like that before talking to me. I want you to be honest with me.” He nodded softly.

“It was stupid and I didn’t even mean it. You know im an airhead.” She softly hit the back of his head.

“That doesn’t mean you can just say stuff like that.” She chuckled.

“I know I know, I’m sorry babe, it won’t happen again!” He smiled brightly, making y/n’s heart melt. Who could ever be angry at this sweet guy?

Bakugou Katsuki

Surprisingly to some people, Bakugo was often really nice to y/n, even in public. Yes, he still had his bad days sometimes but he had a super soft spot for her. Now this didn’t mean his personality took a whole turn but his gestures always clearly showed he cared about his girlfriend a lot.

But sadly, today was one of those bad days. He was talking to Kirishima and basically all he did was rant and complain about anything that was on his mind.

At one point, the subject he was ranting nonsense about was his girlfriend, and Kirishima just let him be since he knew he didn’t mean any of his words and she wouldn’t hear it, since she was hanging out with some of her friends.

Or that’s what they thought.

It turned out that some girls weren’t feeling well- uraraka had trained way too much yesterday and seemed like she could throw up any second, Yaoyorozu had tried making a meal which wasn’t exactly the best, so the girls decided to go to their own homes and meet up when everyone’s health was better.

So the two guys didn’t know that Mistuki let in y/n. At first she didn’t really know what they were talking about, but she could sense that her boyfriend was in a bad mood. She took off her shoes and hung her coat on the hanger and slowly walked up the stairs to his room. She froze however, when she heard her name slip past his name a few times, along with some big complaints.

Now she was aware that her boyfriend was a hothead, but that didn’t give him an excuse to be like that to her. Sure, he had days where he was just angry but he’d never ever insult his girlfriend. She slowly started tearing up but tried to stay strong by clenching her hands into fists.

At first she thought of just leaving him alone for now until Kirishima left, but she didn’t want to do that. A soft sigh escaped her lips before she knocked on their door. She didn’t even bother saying who it was and opened the door.

“Mom I told you-“ Bakugo stopped when he saw you standing in the doorway, eyes glossy with tears. He gasped softly and immediately put two and two together. Kirishima smiled at you awkwardly and slowly got up.

“I should go... uhm.. yeah... talk to you tomorrow Bakugo.” Before he left he quickly muttered something about his friend’s actions not being manly.

“Y/n..” was all he said. His girlfriend sighed softly and sat down in his bed, next to him. Panic took over him as he saw the first tear roll down your cheek.

“Okay okay don’t cry.” He said and sighed softly. “I didn’t mean it... i was just pissed today because of that half and half bastard...” he stopped when he didn’t hear you say a word. I’ll tell you what, we can do whatever you want to do alright?”

“Can it be anything?” She asked hopefully, and although Bakugo could sense that y/n was planning something he wouldn’t like at all, he nodded.

“I didn’t think you meant this.” Bakugo grumbled as you continued to apply pink nail polish on his thumbnail. You giggled and looked at him.

“You look lovely and the mask is good for your skin! Maybe I should also do your hair like Best Jeanist did..”

“WHAT?!” He exclaimed making y/n laugh loudly. After a small silence Bakugo spoke up.

“Are we good now?” She chuckled and nodded

“Yes but if you do shit like that again I swear to god I’ll kick your ass to Jupiter.” Bakugo smirked and nodded.

“I’d like to see you try.” He replied cockily, making her roll her eyes.

“I’m serious, Katsuki. Don’t do it again.” The girl said as she looked him dead in the eye. “Just talk to me next time instead of complaining to Kirishima.” He nodded and suddenly pulled her closer before kissing her deeply. Y/n knew Bakugo wasn’t the best with words and this was his way of apologising. Yes he had become a lot softer for her but there were still some things he should work at.

“You’re forgiven.” Y/n spoke softly when the blond haired guy pulled away. He smiled and then looked at her face in confusion before laughing loudly. The girl frowned at his reaction.

“What?” She put her hands on her face and then stopped when she realised part of the liquid of the face mask was on her face. She sighed softly and then grabbed the jar which contained the liquid and smirked at her boyfriend.

“Ah, I think you need some more. Or if it doesn’t work we should do it again...”

“WHAT?!”

Kirishima Eijiro

He had a long day at UA. He lost in a training battle, got a low score on his English test and he just wasn’t feeling great. His girlfriend, y/n, had noticed his mood but didn’t think too much of it, since Kirishima often had his bad days but got over it and kept his temper.

Today was different. He was talking to his friends during lunch and kept ranting about everything that happened that day. Little did they know his girlfriend was just walking by when he started talking about her.

As his friends all silently ate their food-bakugo hadn’t arrived yet, hence the silence, as the irritated redhead complained about anything, not even bothering to think about his words.

“-and don’t even get me started on y/n! That woman literally drives me insane! She’s so annoying, I want to feel like a man for once but that won’t happen if she continues babying me!” A soft frown appeared on y/n’s face as these words hit her like stone bricks. Was this really how he felt about her? Why didn’t Kirishima just tell her if it bothered him this much?

“Sometimes I don’t even know why I asked her out, ah... every second of the day she asks me how I am, if I’ve eaten, how this went how that went- it’s tiring!”

“I think it’s more tiring for her.” Ashido mumbled as she dragged her fork through her food, annoyed by her friend’s attitude.

As the conversation went on, y/n stood in silence, reflecting on everything she did and how she acted around her boyfriend. Was it that bad?

But why didn’t he tell her? If he was all about being manly, he should’ve manned up and told her right?

She needed answers because this wasn’t like him at all. This wasn’t the kirishima she knew. So she took a deep breath and put her plate down on the table where he was sitting. The force caused a loud sound which made Kirishima whip his head around. He was about to go off when he saw his lover’s tearful eyes piercing into his own.

“Y-y/n...” she didn’t utter a word as she suddenly grabbed his wrist and pulled him with her to a more private place. She did not want to cause a scene in the middle of the school.

“What was that for?” She said in a shaky voice. Kirishima sighed softly, looking down in shame. He knew exactly what she meant by ‘that’ and he felt bad. Seeing her made him realise how dumb his words are. He was just being an idiot and didn’t think about his words.

“I’m sorry.. it’s just- I had a horrible day and I took it out on everything and everyone, b-but I know that it isn’t an excuse for it.” She huffed and crossed her arms against her chest, eyebrows furrowed in anger as her lips were formed in a small pout. Usually he’d find her adorable but knowing that she was angry, Kirishima decided to keep his mouth shut.

“Okay, will this make up for it? We can do whatever you want for the whole day and I won’t complain, I promise. I don’t care what it is, even if it’s not manly I’ll do it.”

“Okay, lets go to my house after school.”

“Does that mean I’m forgiven?”

“Just do as I say.” She said before turning around and leaving. Kirishima chuckled as he shook his head.

Okay, when Kirishima told y/n they could do anything, he didn’t think they’d do this.

“You okay babe?” Y/n asked her boyfriend teasingly as she continued to decorate her boyfriend’s white nails with pink flowers. He was about to talk when she stopped him.

“Don’t talk. You aren’t supposed to talk with this face mask on, or it won’t work!” She said as she held up a finger against his lips. He sighed and poured childishly, making y/n giggle softly.

“Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone about this unmanly thing.” She chuckled and tried to hold in her laugh when she saw his facial expression relax immediately.

“But you know, if I made these flowers red you’d look good with them. And a real man has great skin.” She teased, meaning it as a joke but Kirishima actually agreed, which he showed by nodding. He then looked at her with puppy dog eyes as if to ask if he was forgiven. She smiled and pecked his lips quickly.

“Of course you are. But if you ever talk like that about me again I will not hesitate to tell everyone about this.” Kirishima nodded quickly at this before y/n continued decorating her boyfriend’s nails. He’d never admit it, but he actually quite liked this. The face mask was nice and the nails wouldn’t be too bad if they were more masculine colours. But of course he would never say that to y/n, or she wouldn’t leave him alone. He was just glad that his girlfriend forgave him, because losing her was one of the last things he wanted.

so !! firstable !!!!!!! i want to talk about his dedication to monsta x. it’s honestly something that’s just ? so selfless and incredible about him. time and time again, on every solo activity he’s had, he’s never once failed to mention his team. he takes every opportunity to introduce them and the members and always has the loveliest smile on his face when he thinks about them and he makes it so obvious how much he loves monsta x ?? literally u Cannot apply the joke of him being a robot here because i feel he is at his most expressive when he’s away from his friends and talks about them ,,,, like he just looks so happy to mention monsta x and he really finds little reminders in anything (ie. master key where he chose the number 7 to represent mx !!!) and i feel like he just has to let everyone know he’s part of the best team in the world :-(

shownu has such a strong affinity to being the leader as well nd like ?? he’s one of the best leaders i’ve ever come across ?? he knows when to lead the group and also when to let each of them shine individually (which is like All The Time im gonna b soft but he always always always lets his members shine before he does) and he has such a good dynamic with every member and with the team itself like ??? he’s been with them for so long ofc it’s obvious he’ll develop a good repertoire with them but he literally takes it to a more personal level ?? he literally treats all of mx like family nd as the eldest sibling in my family ,,, i can really see the resemblance between how we both treat the younger ones . i love watching him in the background of videos with different members because you can really get an understanding of who they are to him, and how he treats them all... like hes just such a loving person and it comes across in actions so strongly im always a little overwhelmed like wow ?? he holds so much love for his members and he might feel burdened as their leader but he shoulders it all so well without complaint and everyone knows they can help him too and :-( u really just dont get that kind of relationship with people you only know on the surface

and his talent ??? like ??? wow im blown away ????? every single era, im always waiting to see how he’ll surprise me and he honestly never disappoints. his vocals, his dancing, his stage presence have improved immensely since predebut. he went from being this boy who was overflowing with talent but had a clumsy touch to being ethereal on stage, to having beautifully trained vocals and a powerful dancing style that really captivates everyone who watches him. he’s always in his element when he dances, that i wont deny, but when he sings he has this ~glow~ around him that makes my heart flutter and fall in love a little more ??? especially when he gets so into the song and he scrunches up his nose to hit the note nd always gets this excited look when he hits it . he makes it so obvious that singing and dancing is his passion and i really feel ?? so blessed that i get to be a witness to his improvement. you really can’t undermine his improvement or his current ability because it’s ?? it’s There and it’s breathtaking

nD ANOTHER THING is his visuals !!!!!!! like ??? shownu is honestly one of the handsomest people i’ve ever seen ??? he has such contrasting features (well built body vs baby face) and its so so endearing to me :-( im especially in love with his big smiles, where his eyes scrunch up into the prettiest eyesmiles and he has the prettiest smile and his laugh !!!!!!! i love his laugh and his laughing habits so much !!!! how he always covers his face when its something embarrassing or how sometimes, when the members are being silly, he gets so into laughing that he doesn’t know what to do with his body . that to me is one of his purest laughs and i really cherish it every time he laughs like that !!!! nd plus jfhshfjs sometimes he even giggles and thats just !! me, when cupid points a Love Arrow to my chest: do it . pull the trigger cupid im in love with one (1) man

speaking abt laughter i wanna talk abt his humor too kjfhsakj hes honestly so so funny ??? like im not even being biased but he’s truly one of the funniest members of mx and i feel like people dont really see that because hes always so deadpan about it ,,, like his idle comments about situations are always the best but it’s also just as funny when he makes jokes that mx encourages like .. wow ... comedian of the year ? For the ask you stuff hour- which characters do you enjoy watching interact with Dean the most (for me it's Castiel at the top, but I also really enjoy him with- Benny, Charlie, Kevin, Claire, Jody, Donna, and sometimes Sam). Also, who are your top 10 favorite characters from the show and what are your favorite things about them? Also, even though I'm a Dean fan, I also like Castiel and I was wondering what your take of Cas was (since you've said you do like him).

Dean, aside from this season, actually has the best one-off interactions with characters. I won’t name them bc this’ll get novel length lol, but I had to point out how I enjoy them. It goes to show what a caring person he is that he forms bonds with these strangers so quickly & shows them empathy.

Charlie & Dean is adorable. I loved how sweet & protective he was with her. I’m also serious trash for sister Winchester. Dean’s an amazing big brother to Sam & we see his compassion with girls so I’ve always had a million head canons about how great he’d be with a little sister & I think Charlie was great for that.

Cas & Dean I loved bc when S4 rolled around & they started interacting Cas was just Dean’s. (S4 parallel being Ruby was just Sam’s) Up till S4 they’d done everything together & met the same people & even tho like I said above I like the one-off interactions Dean has & I even think he tends to form closer bonds w reoccurring characters than Sam does, Sam was still involved. Cas didn’t even like Sam at first. All the stuff he decided/changed was based on Dean’s impact on him. Dean changed an who knows how old programmed angel of Heaven just by being himself & passionate about what he believed. It was really interesting to watch them interact in S4/5 when they were figuring each other out. As for later seasons, I like watching them together bc Cas is the one Dean can be himself around. Sam, as strong as their bond may be, Dean still holds that parental responsibility card when it comes to Sam. He often holds things back bc he doesn’t feel like burdening Sam with that. With Cas he’s only a friend & as protective as Dean is for friends/loved ones, that parent/child dynamic isn’t there so Dean has more freedom. We’ve seen quite a few times where Dean will admit to Cas he’s worried abt smth more than he’s letting on to Sam. So I like that Cas is someone that Dean can unload to like that bc that boy always has the weight of the world on his shoulders & eventually it gets too damn heavy no matter who you are.

Dean & Crowley is def a great one. The last few seasons Crowley has done a lot of what I just talked abt with Cas & Dean. Again we have this old creature who isn’t supposed to have “human” emotions & Dean comes along & breaks down that barrier. And the banter between these two is always precious haha.

Dean & Benny: I liked Benny on his own too but my favorite thing abt him was his loyalty to Dean. Benny may have teamed up w Dean to get out of Purgatory but also he was lonely & all he wanted was a friend. When Dean became his friend he was loyal to the bitter end. Benny is the only character who’s ever done that for Dean. He never lied or kept secrets & he always told it like it is.(Granted he was only around for 1 season & I’m sure the writers would have made him lie to Dean eventually if he stuck around, drama & man-pain needed)

And as much as I don’t care for Sam bc of *insert all my blog rants abt him here* I do enjoy a lot of the brother moments. Dean’s love for Sam is a prime ex of what a loving person he is. He does everything for his little brother. He’s always there for him no matter what.

Hmm top 10 characters…

1. Dean (yes, the cheap obvious answer but 10 is a lot & ya didn’t say “besides Dean” so I’ma cheat a bit lol) *see entire blog for what I like about him haha.

Then 2-10 in no real order...

Cas: Ik I’m in the minority but I preferred BAMF S4/5 zero human skills Cas over him being human’d up in later years. Ik logically the character had to move on & the whole point was for him to move away from Heaven so it’s only natural he’d learn their ways but I still miss it. I thought the “take everything literally” angel was pretty damn hilarious. And despite it usually ending badly, I admire the fact that no matter how much he thinks he’s messed up Cas still tries to do what he feels is right. Whether it is or isn’t really doesn’t matter for this point, it’s just a decent quality to try to do right in this day & age. I still like Cas generally but like everything else lately, the writers are messing him up.

Crowley: He’s sassy & always in a nice suit. He always makes me laugh. I really enjoyed him when he was the bad guy & I still like him in this whole frenemy role. I have the same writer complaint for him but I can’t blame that on the character.

Chuck: I adored him in 4x18 & every ep after. I thought the nervous self-deprecating little writer was adorable haha. I was pissed he actually was God bc God sux on this show but while I didn’t agree with some of his crap in S11 (mostly what he laid on Dean) I still liked the character. God was a dick but he pretty much owned it lol. I quite enjoyed 11x20.

Benny: He was loyal, snarky, bad ass, had a lovely accent & gave me feels. I felt bad for him. He didn’t feel like he belonged anywhere & that hurts. Dean was his only friend in the world & he couldn’t even see him. Benny deserved better.

Charlie: She was a spirited, positive, spit fire. They did the whole “dark Charlie” thing & had her sad past revealed but in general she was a peppy ray of sunshine & I liked that contrast on the show.

Meg 2.0: Bad ass & sarcastic. Nuff said.

Lucifer: I kinda cringe now saying it bc the show beat that dead horse into an annoying head ache, but S4/5 I loved the Apocalypse storyline & I liked Lucifer. He was a snarky mean asshole.

The trickster/Gabriel: Mostly bc his eps were always funny as shit. He’d come in & fuck everything up while eating candy haha. I thought he was a lot of fun.

Jo: I could relate to Jo. Big ‘ol crush on Dean, doesn’t feel like she fits in with all the ‘normal’ people at school, daddy’s girl. I’da loved more of Jo.

My take on Cas...what I said already & I’d like to add that even tho I’m not thrilled with the writers under utilizing him & making him imo ooc at times recently, I’ll always like Cas. I can’t see disliking him. Be it more nostalgia of what once was or the fact that Dean loves him so much...I won’t bail on Cas. I’m so bored w S12 that it even takes an effort to stay invested w Dean at times so I won’t write off anyone bc of S12′s crap. I’ll sit here & cross my fingers for a better last part of the season & improved S13. Hopefully, things get back on track
