here are some of my 2 am ramblings about batfam. Don’t mind all the spelling errors I was half asleep man

The characters should be based off some of the original tragedies/events that put them on their path. Not that they shouldn’t grow past them but it should reflect in who they are. 

Batman wasn’t made to fight rogues and world threatening disasters. Batman was born from an unlucky moment, where a simple random crook shattered someone’s world. Even if the police in Gotham weren’t corrupt it wouldn’t have mattered. It wasn’t part of some plot or scheme, they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time and something terrible happened. (In that way Batman is alike to Spider-Man, despite their very different dispositions.) Batman was made to protect people at those moments. He was made to protect people from the ground level crime lurking around. He was made to protect the people who couldn’t protect themselves. He would make sure no one else would be like that young boy in an empty alley as the witness to his parents deaths. Batman is a protector.

For Dick, Robin was made from something different. It was more about something fundamentally wrong in the world. His parents death was planned, as a result of an unchecked evil that simply exists through the world. He was made to fight that more organized crime; gangs, mobs and mafias, corrupt people and groups who went out of their way to hurt people for their own means. And that’s one main way he’s different from Batman. Robin was made to fight. And it shows in his own ruthlessness that no one, not even Batman or redhood, has. He’s a light because he chases away the darkness. 

For Jason, he didn’t have a single defining moment. It wasn’t one tragedy, it was a suffocating existence that slowly chocked him out and eventually ended with him dead. The place he was born, and the life he grew up in was messsed up because of multiple factors. It was something in the roots of Gotham(and everywhere else) that slowly poisoned the air. It was a system inefficient at really getting rid of the problems permanently that messed up crime ally, that made him lose his father to a life of crime and his mother to a drug addiction, and let the joker live to kill him. The Redhood (and partly Robin) was supposed to take care of those problems in a way the the previous system didn’t. He was a replacement (or repair) to the systems that had failed him.

Tim was different from all three. He wasn’t defined by loss. Even though both his parent died, that wasn’t what made him originally Robin. He was made to help. For him, Robin was never about fighting crime or saving civilians, it was about giving a point to hold onto, and be grounded on in the midst of grief. This shows. he doesn’t have the same burning motivation for a crusade against crime, he isn’t fighting, he’s supporting. He became Robin to stabilize Bruce. Unlike Dick his Robin wasn’t a light for Gotham, it was a light for Batman. Like a lantern guiding the way. He’s sociable and attracts (or captures, as he’s the one crashing into their lives) connections and people. He connects with everyone. People think Dick is the extrovert, but it’s Tim who is bonding people together. He not just a guiding light, he’s a campfire attracting people and bringing them together.

Damian never had a moment, it was more like a realization. Like Jason he had grown up in a horrid scenario but unlike him he didn’t realize till he was free. When he found out a better world, a better life, existed he fought for it. In multiple senses. In the beginning he thought he wasn’t worthy so he fought to keep his place; he thought he had to prove himself. When he realized he was a part of a family, and that world, he fought to protect it. Finally, as he opened up and connected with more people. His world expanded, and the people he included in it too. So he fought to protect them. He fought to give them a better world, and better life. When he came to care about Gotham and others, not just the people he was close to, he fought for them. He’s like Bruce in how he’s a silent protector, and a mirror of Dick through him protecting the light instead of fighting the dark. He’s unlike either in how he isn’t trying to spare others from a horrible thing he experienced, but instead trying to share a good thing he found. Damian is a guardian and a guide. 

There’s a thought that you become who you needed (or hated). Bruce became the guardian that would have saved his parents. Dick became the force that would have stopped zukko. Tim didn’t really need anything (except maybe a healthy role model) so he became what others needed. Damian became the guide that saved him (he became like Dick and his father and his family)

Learning To Love Minecraft Again (A Thread)

I've been recently falling in love with Minecraft again. After so long of not playing it. I decided to pick it back up & play it again, and It has been one of my favorite things to play in SO long. However, I did a few things to spruce up my newly found interest.

1. A Fresh Client I had decided to switch over from the tradition Minecraft launcher to the ATLauncher, a mod-eccentric client. And while it may look a tad confusing, it's actually very handy. I am now able to save as many different versions of Minecraft I wanted without my save files or mods controlling one another, unlike the official Minecraft launcher. on top of that, the official launcher also installs a bunch of useless Xbox junk because, well, Microsoft.

2. Bringing Back The Old With the ATLauncher's ability to save as many versions of Minecraft with their own dedicated files & saves, I am now safely able to play older versions of Minecraft as my heart desires.

Right now, I'm playing 2 different versions, Beta 1.7.3 (A version regarded by a LOT of people as one of the best versions of Minecraft to play today), and Release 1.5.2 (The first ever version of the game I EVER played back in 2012). I will still pick up & play Release 1.20 cuz I do like a lot of the new decor pieces & things, but if I ever just want to play a standard game of Minecraft, I have these 2 versions to keep me occupied.

There's also the old legacy versions from Consoles that people are coming back to, but I haven't gotten to those yet, but planned on them soon.

3. Making My Own Goals

My mind has always saw that "Beating the Ender Dragon" was the ultimate goal of Minecraft, and that once it's done, it's done. And while a part of me still feels that way, I'm slowly moving away from that, because that mindset has literally KILLED so many of my past Minecraft maps, and I deeply regret it.

So I started to make my own goals & my own rules. My current survival map never had a bulk smelting machine, so I added one. I never got to refine my mine & make it more like an actual mineshaft, so I got to go & do that.

I don't just want to make Minecraft a point A -> B kinda game. I want to make it a game about creating as much stuff as you can. There are people in this world who have been able to build worlds that have taken them over a DECADE to finish... so why not give yourself that same level of encouragement?

4. Playing With Friends I recently managed to get a personal Minecraft server going on an old PC. And playing with my friends has been an AMAZING experience. It's actually pretty cheap to run a server nowadays, and Bedrock editions now have general multiplayer support, so playing with friends is now becoming even EASIER than ever before.

5. Modding Makes The Difference Although I haven't got to do this one yet, I *am* planning on it, as it's been talked about by a LOT of people. There are actually a handful of mods out there that are not just for entertainment, but for bringing fresh vanilla-eccentric changes to Minecraft to keep its charm that it had in its early stages. Two that I have heard of are ReIndev & Better Than Adventure. Both of which actually run off of Beta 1.7.3 too, so that's neat!

I think personally, what these two mods are doing are GREAT, and I cannot wait to play them.

6. Making It Personal

Personally, I've been handling the game on a more personal level, and not too personal to where it's overbearing, but I mean as in I like to just do traditional fan things that I've done long ago. Watch Minecraft videos, pull out the old Minecraft merch I had from when I was young, listen to the soundtrack, etc.

I haven't felt this attached to Minecraft in SO long, but I am glad it's coming back. I might make this whole thing into a video, but until then, I wanted to make this thread to tell you all how I managed to finally get back in touch with Minecraft.

Stop caring what people think. Life how you want.

Remember when you were a kid and you didn't give a damn what anyone thought? You were having the time of your life, laughing playing looking absolutely wacko when you pretended to be superhero or an evil witch or an avenger (cuz same) but you couldn't care less. You smiled brightly without caring if you were 'photogenic' or whatnot.

You were the essence of life. You WERE life.

So what happened? *Sigh. People happened.

"Keep your head out of the cloud"

"Come back to reality"

"Stop your daydreaming"

"That's all just make believe"

We were told that imagination isn't real. That the physical is real and we started living with that belief.

We were taught that everyone is looking and judging us and that we need to reach a certain standard to be accepted by others.

Well, let me tell you something. In your reality, people don't exist.

Let me explain before I get crowned a certified crazy lady (too late).

We're always worried about what people will think of us. "Oh on, will that person like my shirt, or my face, or my skills, or whatever?" "What about my parents??? What does everyone think of me??"

Let me tell you. Nothing. They don't think anything. Because you can never be in their consciousness, in your reality your consciousness is the only existence.

Even if someone tells you what they think, is there really a way to be completely sure that those are their thoughts? No. Because you can never experience them. You can only experience YOU.

Point of this craziness is that other people's thoughts and beliefs about you are irrelevant. They have nothing to do with you.

Want to manifest your dream life but someone's telling you you can't? Who cares? You are the master, the king, the ruler, why would you care what someone else is saying? They can't create your reality. They have no power in your world.

You are infinite. You don't ask the universe for things, you claim them because you are the universe. You are one. You are the all. You are the victor. You are king. Start acting like it.

Every time I look at this one panel  where Zantafio is using one of Zorgulb's devices to hypnotize the 3 it makes me think of how truly scary and dangerous  Zantafio is as a villain and the implications of this moment and a scary what-if.  

Now we see from the beginning when Zanta turned to bad (Le dictateur et le champignon) he was going to shoot Spirou and Seccotine but instead he just starts monologuing classic villain mess up, but what if Zantafio intentionally just want to monologue and not shoot (yet) otherwise he would have killed them the moment he found them.

In "L'ombre du Z" he zapped Spirou but when that didn't work he shoves Spirou into a pool of piranhas after getting a punch in the face and went back to wanting to zap them again. ZANTA! it never work that fist time what made you think it would be different?!

In other albums to follow "Tora Torapa" we do see him using a gun but missing his target or maybe he did that on purpose to intimidate.  

In "Spirou et Fantasio à Moscou" Zantafio did this wild shot most likely to scare Spirou and Fantasio to stop and surrender which they did, so he can blow them up with a bomb instead rather than just taking them out and be done with them. Note how dangerously close he got to hitting them with those shots.

And no he's not terrible at shooting a gun "L'homme qui ne voulait pas mourir" shown how good he is with a gun at.  He even shot a person the moment they cut his face, a minor cut but still, the dude got mad when that happened.

Any time he uses a gun so he's kind of choosey about who he will shoot to kill or who he wants to threaten for his own means. which brings me back to this panel.

If Zantafio didn't need those Spirou and Fantasio to locate the Marsupilami and if he was a point blank true deadly no morals villain he would not hesitate to just run in there with the gun and take them all out within seconds, my god look how fast he ran into that room just to zap them and given what we've seen how good of a shot he is in the previous albums he is just downright terrifying and interesting.  

He has some morals when it comes to deadly force but maybe I'm seeing this wrong but hay any excuse to talk about Zanta is a good excuse
