March 14, 2023 - Proud Boys came to UC Davis, California, to support an event by the Koch-funded far-right astroturf group Turning Point USA, but instead ended up setting a new land speed record running away from local antifascists. [video]

Ultrafast laser pulses could lessen data storage energy needs
A discovery from an experiment with magnets and lasers could be a boon to energy-efficient data storage. "We wanted to study the physics of light-magnet interaction," said Rahul Jangid, who led the data analysis for the project while earning his Ph.D. in materials science and engineering at UC Davis under associate professor Roopali Kukreja. "What happens when you hit a magnetic domain with very short pulses of laser light?" Domains are areas within a magnet that flip from north to south poles. This property is used for data storage, for example in computer hard drives. Jangid and his colleagues found that when a magnet is hit with a pulsed laser, the domain walls in the ferromagnetic layers move at a speed of approximately 66 km/s, which is about 100 times faster than the speed limit previously thought.

Lovely sentiments by a progressive, trans assistant professor at UC Davis.
And for those in the Jewish community who think this is just a problem for Jews who support Israel, let me remind you of couple things. First, when they say Zionists, they absolutely mean Jews. Second, when they come for us, they don’t ask if we were the one show we’re proud Jews who supported Israel, or if we were ashamed of our Jewishness and emphasized our commitment to progressivism and condemn Israel.
Antisemitism is rising. The left has made it clear that it is acceptable. People like this person need to be taken seriously when they say they are willing to spill Jewish blood. Even if you live in a place where the police are still effective, you will still have to wait minutes for a response. Be prepared to be your own first responder.

Injury Ravaged Liverpool Prevail in Carabao Cup Final - Mark Soliman
The Carabao Cup is a dynamic annual knockout competition in men's domestic football, featuring 92 diverse clubs across England, each showcasing their skills and capabilities.
Liverpool FC has beat every opposing club on their path to the trophy, reaching the final against Chelsea FC, which took place on February 25th.
Heading into the match, Liverpool faced a daunting challenge with a significant number of injuries, totaling 11, among which 7 are bona fide starters crucial to Liverpool's system.
Hence, Liverpool relied on their reserves and a selection of players summoned from their youth teams to secure victory in the final.
Liverpool's injury struggles escalated dramatically as Ryan Gravenberch was forced off on a stretcher less than half an hour into the Carabao Cup final, following a heavy collision from Chelsea player Moises Caicedo.
Both teams were on the forefront, exchanging attacks, yet failing to capitalize on crucial opportunities to score and ultimately secure the highly sought-after trophy.
At the end of the regulation, the match stood at a stalemate with a score of 0-0. Subsequently, the game proceeded to extra time, where both teams continued to exchange blows in their quest for a breakthrough.
In a fitting turn of events, Liverpool's captain and world-class defender, Virgil van Dijk, secured victory with a game-winning header off a corner in the final minute of the match.

Once again, despite being plagued by injuries, Liverpool displayed resilience and ultimately achieved the desired result, clinching victory in the match and securing their tenth Carabao Cup in the club's history.
