late summerdays:
Inspired by @aubriestar 's poem about late summer..
the call of cornfields
waving their hands
a simple sign of a goodbye
my feelings confused
should I remember weeks of pleasure
or days of pourdowns?
late summerdays
touch of nostalgy
and hope of a fast return
the darkness now sets in
we need to be strong
we are, no doubt
with the right attitude
enforcing ourselves
late summerdays
the colourful landscape
painted by wind and days of retirement
makes sure we do not need to mourn
instead it offers a different kind of pleasure
inhale, inhale!
It seems to say
I listen

my pal @thegoblinbee tagged me in a similar one of these a little while ago and I didn’t do it, so I’ll do this one (even though I’ve done a dozen near-identical ones before)
Name/nickname: I go by Jonas, and little else at the moment. Natalie calls me Babe, and sometimes Jonaboob. Briefly at university I was known ironically as Stud Muffin, and at school my friends affectionately referred to me as Knobs; some of them still do, nine years later.
Zodiac sign: Not that useful for learning about me
Height: 5'8″. In contrast to Bee I have always considered myself way too short.
Hogwarts house: Myrtle’s bathroom
Last thing i googled: I was trying to find lyrics to Doe’s song My Friends, but failed to find them
Favourite musicians: In the last few days I’ve been listening to Doe’s latest album Grow Into It, and enjoying it way more than I’d have expected. It’s so effortlessly catchy. Lately I’ve also been listening to a lot of Elliot Smith’s Either Or album, Whitechapel’s self-titled release, and Emily Hope Jacobsen’s The Belated Archives. Long-time favourites of mine include Reuben/Jamie Lenman, Tool/A Perfect Circle, Russian Circles, Chevelle, and Placebo.
Last song i listened to: Cruiserweight covering Coolidge, originally by Descendants
Song stuck in my head: at work today I had a medley of snippets from Doe’s album running through my head, in testament to how catchy so Grow Into It is.
Followers: 4386
Following: 889
Amount of sleep: 4-6 hours a night has become pretty common over the past six months or so, and even then it’s often quite broken sleep. 7 or 8 hours is very rare. It’s a wonder I still manage to form even half-coherent sentences.
Lucky number: Numbers may bring fortune or grief, but never luck (so I believe).
What i’m wearing: an awesome @qwertee shirt with Cyndaquil using (probably) Fire Spin, and my work trousers
Dream job: I’m not sure. I really want to write, but for a job? I don’t know if I’d enjoy it then. As far as vaguely possible job prospects currently open to me I’d quite like to step up to a Trainer role for the company I already work for.
Dream trip: face-first into a pile of marshmallows.
Favourite food: it’s cliche, but pizza is just fucking great. Doughnuts are also fan-fucking-tastic.
Instruments: I haven’t sat at a drum kit in 4 years, but I could still play well enough. I certainly still do in my head just about every day.
Languages: “Lady, I only speak two languages - English, and Bad English!”
Favourite songs: H. by Tool. Shores of Orion by God is an Astronaut. Youngblood by Russian Circles. Once by Reuben. Game of Pricks by Guided By Voices. The Savage Myth by Ernesto Schnack.
Random fact: The tendons across the back of my hands aren’t properly attached at the knuckles, known as subluxing extensor tendons. It already causes problems that will only get worse over time.
Aesthetic: unnoticeable arsehole with about as much fashion sense as self-respect - just a little, but not really enough.
I tag - @hraewordsmith, @wachtuiltje, @randomlyjay, @rivkahhannahsf, @be-i-ng, @beneath-this-skin, @angelatrest, @christian-fett and whoever else fancies putting time into this. Or not - there’s no obligation to bother.
Stay swell, kids.

AtlasConsiderations (Personalized) Prompt 7 Conclusion
This was an amazing turnout, and I am incredibly proud of EVERYONE who participated and challenged themselves with this prompt. This wasn't meant to be easy. I know A LOT of you struggled. You did wonderfully, and you all came out stronger because of your tenacity and love of writing. Here are the participants who were able to complete their prompts (with the titles of their pieces because everyone got a different prompt) in no particular order beyond people who submitted two prompts being listed first:
@pomegranatepithos : two poems, Lunar Sorrows, and, An Evening When The Banks Are Fair.
@small-town-r : two poems, A Icy Heart, and, Stargaze to Eternity.
@heartofmuse : two poems, Saturn's Rings, and, Ten Million Truths Held Within the Vial of Our Hearts.
@reinventing-wednesday : two poems, Live in Salt, and, This landscape.
@untitled-draft : two poems, I just want to fall off the edge, and, See it as a challenge.
@eternalscarsworld : A Tale of Heart ❤
@imperiallefty : You cannot handcuff smoke.
@madelinescatharsis : Ode to the Bravery in Every Breath.
@forestgradience : Dreamtime's descension.
@infinite-cacophony : At the end of the climb, will you be there?
@enslavedmind : I still say grace through pain.
@lilithnoah : We've trusted in gravity for far too long.
@reinacm : Seasonal Innocence.
@cruxymox : From my darkness I am pulled back.
@katrinnac : Paths Diverge
@universalmemoir : Beneath the Rose Bush.
@september-stardust : Holding each others sad eyes over coffee.
@uschi-the-listener : Kali Ma the Merciful.
@uninhibitedmatters : Redamancy.
@wachtuiltje : Maybe these wishes can come true.
@jameslingerthereal : A Moment
@sparkandashes : Across the Deserts & the Oceans.
@words-from-a-lost-soul : The Care Between Threads.
It was an amazing turnout from everyone. I had 40 prompt requests. Of those 40, 23 people completed their prompts. Five of those 23 came back to participate in the Special Day prompt on the 28th. So, 17 people did not complete the prompt. That's ok. I understand that this was an interesting experiment and some of my prompts I gave out were pretty out there. I do appreciate everyone asking for a prompt, even if you didn't finish yours. If you can finish your piece this weekend, send me a message and I will include you in this conclusion.
As always, if I missed your poem and forgot to reblog it, or include it in this wrap-up, send me a message and I will fix that.
Thank you, everyone who participated. This week's prompt is going to be very, very tame compared to the last few.

In answer to @ellenya rhyme poem 2089
when I first drank Moselwine
in a small bistro
I decided that the Mosel
off to see I'd go
It was longer than I thought
and romantic too
many lovely little towns
and so much to do!
In the evenings what I did
was join into a song
somewhere in a winecellar
and the Mosel's long!
though sometimes a bit too much
as I just loved this wine
with travelling I kept in touch
next was the river Rhine
I have become as time went by
a serious riverfriend
like Bogart and Cath Hepburn
who on that river went
Its famous name ? the river Nile
I hope to go there too
they say it's full of crocodiles
but I work in a zoo!

The rule is to copy down the last line I wrote, and tag as many people as there are letters in that line.
"...my soulful black eyes will be charcoal shaded blurs that reveal (too) much too little of what I feel." from a poem I call ‘watercolour’. I will post it here soon enough...
Since that is a looooong-ass sentence, I tag a whole bunch of yous @shentoncarrington , @fakesurprise , @cmesparkle , @teacup13 , @highlandsmistwoman , @jewelrygirl82 , @alexandraswritingblock , @rarasworldbro, @behind-the-sun , @mist2myst , @gspoems, @jmhillman , @writteninjoy2 ,@wachtuiltje, @sealanehill, @chucklingpecan , @randomlyjay, @strikezilla01, @shabdpurvaiya, @madworlddiary, @maggierella , @165poundsofregret, @jimmicisme, @jimmyblues1, @ellenya, @ambroseharte, @mariposaheart, @definegodliness,
