The unexpected side effect of spending a week around other mature secure adults who have healthy boundaries and communication and have been hand picked by my closest friends to be the best and healthiest people they can be, all of whom genuinely like me and communicate their needs, is returning back to my apartment and realizing just how different shit is here…. Like damn I know I’m moving out in ten days and so so so happy but wow, it was fucking NIGHT and DAY seeing how people are supposed to act I didn’t realize how different my college friends were, it makes me so much more excited for this next leg of my life and my move!

#I don’t want to be like #I’m not like other girls #but #fucking hell #spending a week with secure people well into their careers who have been in stable long term friendships and relationships #and have LEARNED how to communicate with others #and coming home to my post grad college student apartment with five people…. it’s different #like ik everyone is a train wreck before their brain fully develops #but god damn I’m done with the college lifestyle I’m done with decorating printed out amongus memes and watching my roomates order dominos #or make boxed Mac and cheese for every meal and having to listen to conversations about their job at Whole Foods and be passive agressive #about literally everything and just not know how to communicate with other people their needs and boundaries and have every thing I do feel #like it’s being judged for breathing #like man #I’m a teacher looking ag grad schools and a board member of a nonprofit org- my interests include buying books and going to bed at 10:00 #this sounds soooo much like ‘I’m not like other girls’ of being in your early 20’s #but being with my friends who I made as an adult based on my own interests and passions as a person is just so much easier because everyone #and everyone is PAST that phase and has DONE all the unpacking and Is knowledgeable about their own emotions and needs and wants #it’s just so different and I’m so so so glad I made the call to fucking move #like wow #I was so unsure of my decision because it’s scary moving in a different direction #but no I’m feeling SO good #and it’s so much more fun to do trashy shit with classy people where it FEELS safe and fun and good #like DAMN I am SO wanted and SO loved and SO appreciated by the people in my life that I chose to be arround #so why wouldn’t I chose to be arround those people more #I love my college friends but I’m not at that point in my life anymore

I knew about the show since 2014 but I just knew it existed, saw some memes but didn't really get em, and whenever I said I wanted to give the show a try, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE told me NOT to, bc "omg it's so scary it traumatized me I can't sleep since I watched it", and I mean back then I was in my creepypasta phase so I wasn't like going to get scared that much but the pressure was inmense I ended up not watching it ):

Years went by, kept watching ocassional memes, but last year on september when I opened Twitter I saw SO MUCH content of them, fanarts were all over my home page, so I asked my brother if he knew anything about it, turned out he had already seen both the web series and tv show and said THERE'S NO WAY YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS SHOW YOU'RE GONNA LOVE IT

And the rest is history...

#He played the web series #creativity being the first episode... #After those 3 minutes my mind blew up #It all made sense now: the memes and the dancing yellow guy and the sketchbook ruining a painting and the disturbing sequences JUST WOW #Also I immediately recognized Tony and remembered all those Tumblr drawing with a handsome looking blue guy with a weird red mustache #I had a headache after watching the web series trying to understand wtf did I watched and why did I like it sm #Also I loved every single song I've never saved a Spotify playlist so fast before #We had like 2 hour discussions in between episodes to figure out all the messages and criticisms to real life situations #After watching everything my fav episodes were the love and friendship episodes #On the last episode I was clapping on the ending bc I kinda saw it coming but when it happened I was like YESSS CLIFFHANGER BRILLIANT #I'm never getting over this fandom #dhmis #asks #dhmis asks #albaricomics

okay i. didnt expect you are so not invited to my bat mitzvah to actually make me cry real tears. ???? the adam sandler teen comedy movie??? was good???? and genuinely funny??? and made me so emotional?????

idk maybe im surprised bc the last time i watched an adam sandler movie was in like 2012 and i never rly liked any of them. and with this one Some of the humor and over-the-topness was a toned down version of the same type of not rly my thing... but i liked and felt for the characters and the overall tone was so. charming?

i feel like if i was a teen i'd've haaated this movie bc of how it portrays teens. like i assumed the 'ha ha look at the silly slang and behaviors of Kids These Days amiright' would start to annoy me v quickly at the start of the movie... and i do think there were a FEW moments of it being like that. but overall i was so surprised that it just felt very loving, more like lighthearted teasing. i'm sure it'll grate on actual teens anyways (and fair enough) but as an adult the more remarkable thing was rly the palpable empathy.

'look i dont understand all of this and think a lot of it is silly or even worrying and i will make fun of it a little bit, but i can see you're struggling and i care and feel for you regardless.' like. im not even a parent but that was the vibe of the whole movie and it was. genuinely rly touching. and i did not EXPECT THAT

#It's an understandable tradeoff and technically the final fantasy one and wow are well made graphically and all that #BUT I MEAN MOODY #WITH GOOD ART DIRECTION #Like stuff where it's clearly designed to make you feel like you're a small part of a large world instead of focusing on the coding side #which is understandable if you make any large scale project like that #But dang man #If Oblivion just had like #A bit more love put into it #some funky ass shaders #Permanent odd fog #The feeling that you're walking through lived places #And like some wider variations of races and stuff to role play as #Then I would kiss that game on the head #Don't look at me Elder scrolls stop not being an rpg which is more a mod playground than anything #Especially when you take most of the npcs into consideration like come on #It'd be so cool to have some use out of talking to npcs and living in the world instead of going from place A to B for quests #Like it's a meme pretty much how pressing rumors does nothing #It's obviously a product of the process with it all but it'd be so cool to ask an npc about what they do for a living #And they show you around or something to give you a greater intrigue to their homes #Maybe you ask a fisher what their story is and you go on a little fishing trip or it cuts away to you two having a drink about it #And he just talks and talks about how his life has been and then asks you what you've got going on and then you could build character! #It'd be so cool to see that with strong art direction! #Oogling and boogling with my eyes at the idea #But it's difficult so lets hope a dedicated group of people get to it with love for it #Me that is me I want to do that #shenanigans
