Hey guys ur boy is back at it again with the unrecognizable and borderline incomprehensible AUs!

I’ve got SO many thoughts but basically:

This is basically just. What If Anthy And Utena Had To Go Through The Torment Nexus Timeloop One More Time After Adolescence Of Utena. And It Was Fucking Weirddd

Or: a third version of RGU !

Uh. Oh man. Idk where to start

I’ve been thinking abt this for a couple months but am only now puttinf words to it. Eurmmmm

Ok.

Basicalleigh.

The structure is mostly the same as the basic structure in the show and in the movie. Utena is a student at Ohtori, meets lil weirdos, duels Saionji and ends up engaged to the Rose Bride. torment nexus ensues u get the picture

Following the trend from the show -> the movie, everyone is a little older. Nebulous high school age? Utena, Anthy etc are maybe around 16 or 17 which would make the older characters technically too old for Ohtori but time is weird and fucked up and will bend to keep girls (gender neutral) in the cycle You Know How It Is.

So . Yea. Underlying structure is similar but !

Everything has sort of. Come back wrong.

Like u know how it is with some time loop media (im thinking specifically of Russian Doll), where the first loop or two are semi coherent and feel like time is sort of cooperating with space as it should .. but then as it keeps looping and looping, things start to Unravel. Get weird and distorted. Lose themselves through too many retellings. Fall incomprehensibly apart but keep running simply because it’s What They’re Built To Do.

Sort of like that!

Ohtori Academy itself has turned into a massive, labyrinthine superstructure, full of doors that lead nowhere and windows in floors and stairs that lead up walls and hallways that shouldn’t be there and rooms that genuinely no human being has ever stepped foot inside.

Nothing is practical or comfortable.

It’s like the building has been left to grow/decay on its own, sprouting unnecessary architectural growths like tumors, expanding in on itself, reaching up to the sky and endlessly in both directions. It’s a building that holds humans, but it’s no longer a building that was Made To Serve The Purposes Of What It’s Used For. it’s no longer built for human life.

Anyway! It all centers around a fucking MASSIVE statue of the prince/akio. At his feet is the rose garden, which is pruned into a sort of topiary maze shape.

OK SORRY ENOUGH ABT THE BUILDING FOR NOW. local architecture horror guy finally shuts up, millions sigh in relief

Okok.

Uh

Things in general r a lot more wacky and abstracted- there arent clear lines between night and day, classes and after school, people and concepts

There are no teachers. There aren’t even any adults except for Akio.

Hell, there aren’t even really any students except for the main cast. There are crowds, but not people.

Weird, twisted roses sprout up kind of Anywhere. Parts of the building are completely overgrown with them. You can’t walk barefoot on the ground because you might step on a thorn. One day Utena wakes up to find that roses have completely grown over her bed. She has to carefully remove herself, leaving a perfect and only slightly bloody silhouette where she used to be

Utena can’t remember how she got here. She can’t quite remember anything before the last few weeks, and she’s sure that there’s something she used to know that she’s forgotten, something important

Anthy is quiet and angry. She also has this feeling of something crucial Lost, a lock that she still has the key for, the location of which she’s completely forgotten

In general it’s an unbearable world that doesn’t seem, in any capacity, to want to or have been made to be lived in.

Ummm oh man. Yeah thats Sort of it for now but i have so many thoguhts abt this auauauuaaughh. um. uuauuegh.

Akio is scary because I could meet him on the street. He could be my cool teacher, or my friend's uncle, or that one guy in the Marines, or some man my father met when he was 16. So many people practice cruelty casually, hidden under a veneer of approachability. Akio doesn't have to be a god to be cruel. Akio is scary because I could talk to him and not notice. I've had enough friends/family/classmates abused that I know that abusers can just be kind of stupid and in a position of power. Treating them as gods/flawless masterminds just elevates their perceived power. If they were actually that suave and intelligent, they wouldn't be in the business of sexually assaulting kids.

yeah. you really do not have to be some master manipulator to take advantage of children, the most vulnerable people in the world. and i guess people who claim he is some kind of mastermind just aren't aware that they in all likelihood have met people like him. that he's everywhere. and, y'know, lucky for them i suppose, that they percieve this kind of abuse as something special and rare that basically only happens in fiction. must be a nice sort of ignorance to have about the world.
