A bitter-sweet goodbye.

We were joking around and stuff as we closed up the building- being the last ones there and all which happened sometimes. It was nothing new... As we left the front doors and started walking to our cars, side by side, I said," You're gonna miss me." With a smile and he paused for a moment and said," There's a solid chance I'll miss you." I didn't expect this and said, " What?" He then replied," Don't think too much about it." I said," about what, the missing me?" He said," yeah." I smiled and he said," does that make you happy?" And I said "yeah." With a big grin. It was quiet for a second again and I said in a funny, playful voice," I'm gonna miss you too". At that point we were almost to my car. We stood side by side as we walked and he opened his arms out and said," Hugs?" I did not expect this and said," what?" He said," yeah." I smiled and said " sure". I wrapped my arm around his side and we had a side hug that lasted only a second, maybe two, but it was great. By then we were in front of my car so I walked to my door and opened it. He said," It's been fun," and I finished his commonly used farewell. " it's been real." I said, still smiling. He then began to walk off towards his car farther down the lot and said goodbye. I told him to drive safe, and we went our separate ways.

There are some people that walk into your life that you wish would never walk out.

Nothing may have gone wrong, in fact, you may still be on good terms and chat occasionally over the phone or via messaging somehow in some form- but sometimes, you just may never see them again.

Sometimes people come into your life when you least expect it and bring you new emotions that you hadn’t felt before, or hadn’t felt in a long, long time. Sometimes, they’ll also bring great change into you for the good without even realizing it and you silently knowing it.

Sometimes people walk into your life that you never want to part from or say a bitter goodbye that may only be one sided in the emotional part of the departure between you both. Sometimes people walk into your life, and walk right out not knowing how much they meant or mean to you still, not knowing how much they’ve changed you, and not knowing how they made you felt, and you never tell them because it wasn’t right.

Sometimes, people you learn to love have to leave you, never knowing how much you loved or still love them, how much they inspired you or how they still continue to inspire you, and how much cared or still care for them.

Sometimes… The right people come at the wrong yet somehow right time.

And maybe, just maybe, you’ll cross each other’s paths again later in life when it’s right- and it’ll all make sense.
