The New Era timeline is one of a handful of timelines where Shrike isn't outright evil. In this particular iteration, he took over as the head of his family and has been steadily getting crazier the more powerful he gets. Shrike and his clan are enemies of both the Lin Kuei and the Shirai Ryu, trying to either take control of them or destroy them.

my own personal johnny hcs because that's my man

he has a slight lisp, especially in words with a double s in it.

he was a functioning alcoholic when he first made it big in hollywood, but has been sober for 5+ years and keeps his AA chips on the fireplace mantle with his movie awards.

the "alcohol" cart in his house in game is a series of non-alcoholic spirits. it has the same burn, same taste (sometimes better, honestly), and is nearly indistinguishable from alcohol for all intents and purposes.

a pretty big history nerd and always has been. not really into eras in history so much as latches onto stories about people, like the taira clan.

his camera roll is ridiculous. scrolling through it is a roulette game of dicks, ass, and memes, followed by approximately 500 screenshots of facetime calls so he can get someone in the middle of a funny face (like his assistant or kenshi).

megan thee stallion cosplayed one of his characters and he's never let ANYONE forget that. he had a poster made of it. she signed it AND left a kiss mark on the poster.

even when he was married to cris he was a flirt. it bothered her, but as long as he was faithful, she didn't make a big deal about it because """that's just how johnny is, everyone knows that.""" she does say now that it was a mistake to put up with it for so long. he was never unfaithful to her, but she does question it out of long-seated anger with him.

he's not just a movie buff for his own movies. you know six degrees of kevin bacon? he'll win every time. he's a walking encyclopedia of movies and actors. name an actor and he'll tell you everything they've been in from the beginning of their career.

his favorite card game is war. that fast paced competition is what he lives for!
