ģŠˆķ¼ģ£¼ė‹ˆģ–“ (Super Junior) Members
Hello readers and welcome back and for those who are just joining, welcome! I'm glad to be back and glad to say that for this blog post I will be talking about Super Junior members. I know I didn't do so in their general information blog post because there are too many members, but I will do so now. Thank you for being patient and again, because I didn't know much about them, I had to research this information. First, let's go over each members name again. As of 25 May 2017, Super Junior has five active members: Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Shindong and Sungmin. There are five inactive members due to military service: Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun. There is Kangin who is inactive because he got a dui and there are two former members: Han Geng and Kibum. As stated in the previous post about Super Junior, according to Wikipedia, in December 2009, Han Geng departed from the group after filing a lawsuit against their agency SM Entertainment and won. On 18 August 2015, Kibum announced via his personal SNS that his contract with SM Entertainment had ended and departed from the group. From July 2010 to December 2016, six members completed their mandatory military service. Kangin enlisted on July 5, 2010 and completed his service on April 16, 2012. Heechul enlisted on September 1, 2011 and completed his service on August 30, 2013. Leeteuk enlisted on October 30, 2012 and completed his service on July 29, 2014. Yesung enlisted on May 6, 2013 and completed his service on May 4, 2015. Shindong enlisted on 24 March 2015 and completed his service on December 23, 2016. Sungmin enlisted on 31 March 2015 and completed his service on December 30, 2016. From October 2015 to present, four members are currently enlisted for mandatory military service. Eunhyuk enlisted on 13 October 2015. Donghae enlisted on 15 October 2015. Siwon enlisted on 19 November 2015. Ryeowook enlisted on 11 October 2016. Kyuhyun enlisted on 25 May 2017. Now because there are a lot of members, I'm only going to state where they are from and two facts. First is Leeteuk. He was born in Seoul, South Korea, he has an older sister, named Park Inyoung and Leeteuk became trainee since he was 13 years old. Next is Heechul. He was born in Hoengseong, Gangwon, South Korea, he has one older Sister, Kim Heejin and he dislikes girls who show off their tummy. Third is Yesung.ā€“ He was born in Seoul and at age of 10 moved to Cheonan, South Chungcheong, South Korea, Yesung has an older brother, Kim Jong-jin and he had his first kiss when he was in 2nd Year High School. Fourth is Kangin. He was born in Seoul, South Korea, Kangin was scouted by a talent agent and was recommended to sign up for SM Entertainmentā€™s talent competitions, and in 2002, Kangin won first place on the fourth annual SM Youth Best Contest and won the best outward appearance award and signed a contract with SM Entertainment. Fifth is Sindong. He was born in Mungyeong, North Gyeongsang, South Korea. Shindong has a younger sister, called Ahn Da Young and he is Super Juniorā€™s choreographer. Sixth is Sungmin. ā€“ He was born in Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi, South Korea, he has a younger brother called Lee Sungjin and Sungminā€™s closest friends during training is Xiah Junsu and Eunhyuk. Seventh is Eunhyuk. ā€“ He was born in Neunggok, Goyang, Gyeonggi, South Korea, Eunhyuk has an older sister, named ā€œLee Soraā€ but his sister always call him as ā€œOppaā€ and he grew up in a family who struggled financially. Eighth is Siwon. He was born in Seoul, South Korea, Siwon was born on April 7th, 1986. But his parents did not register him until February 10, 1987, and in 2003 when Siwon was 16, he was scouted by a talent agent and was recommended to audition for the Starlight Casting System to be an entertainer. Ninth is Donghae, my bias. I love him so much he is gorgeous. He was born in Mokpo, Jeollanam, South Korea. He loves kids and puppies and he is scared of ghosts. Tenth is Ryeowook. He was born in Incheon, South Korea. He doesnā€™t have siblings, heā€™s the 2nd most outgoing member (after Kangin), he has a mole on his right cheek and he wears makeup to cover it. Last but not least, there's Kyuhyun. He was born in Nowon district, Seoul, South Korea. His family consists of mom, dad, and older sister, named Ahra (3 years older) and his father worked as a chairman in an association. That was a lot of info, guys and unfortunately, that's all for this post. Thanks so much for reading. Until next time... Word Count: 794

ģŠˆķ¼ģ£¼ė‹ˆģ–“ (Super Junior)
Hello, readers. Welcome back! I'm sad to say we are near my last blog post as I just won't have the time anymore. I just want to say thank you for reading. I really do appreciate it. Now, away from the sad stuff, we are going to talk about SuperJunior today. Like a couple other groups I've posted about, I don't listen to this group and all information going into the post is also info I'm just learning about. So according to Wikipedia, Super Junior also known simply as SJ or SUJU, is a South Korean boy band. Formed in 2005 by producer Lee Soo-man of S.M. Entertainment, the group comprised a total of thirteen members at its peak. Super Junior originally debuted with twelve members, consisting of leader Leeteuk, Heechul, Hangeng, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook and Kibum. Kyuhyun joined the group in 2006. Super Junior launched into international recognition following the release of their best-selling single "Sorry, Sorry" in 2009, the title song of their most critically successful album, Sorry, Sorry. Over the years, they have been divided into smaller groups, simultaneously targeting different music industries and audiences. Largely due to Super Junior's success as entertainers, other Korean entertainment managements began to train their music groups in other areas of entertainment, such as acting and hosting. Now onto some of their accomplishments. Also according to Wikipedia, Super Junior is the best-selling K-pop artist for four years in a row. Super Junior have earned thirteen music awards from the Mnet Asian Music Awards, sixteen from the Golden Disk Awards, and are the second singing group to win Favorite Artist Korea at the 2008 MTV Asia Awards after jtL in 2003. In 2012, they were nominated for "Best Asian Act" in MTV Europe Music Awards. In 2015, they won the "International Artist" and "Best Fandom" in the Teen Choice Awards. The group originally had 13 active members, but In December 2009, Han Geng departed from the group after filing a lawsuit against their agency SM Entertainment. Han Geng subsequently won the lawsuit in December 2010, though his departure from Super Junior was not made official until September 27, 2011, when S.M. Entertainment finally released a statement to that effect. On August 18, 2015, Kibum announced via his personal SNS that his contract with SM Entertainment had ended and departed from the group. Shindong enlisted on March 24, 2015 and completed his service on December 23, 2016. Sungmin enlisted on March 31, 2015 and completed his service on December 30, 2016. From October 2015 to present, four members are currently enlisted for mandatory military service. Eunhyuk enlisted on October 13, 2015. Donghae enlisted on October 15, 2015. Siwon enlisted on November 19, 2015. Ryeowook enlisted on October 11, 2016. Kyuhyun is scheduled to enlist on May 25, 2017.As of December 30, 2016, Super Junior has six active members: Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Shindong, Sungmin and Kyuhyun. That was already a lot of information, so I'm not going to go over each member, because there's too many of them. So, that's all for this blog post. Until next time... Word Count: 591

ź°“ģ„øėø (Got7)
Hello readers! Welcome back, my loves. I just want to start off by saying thank you for reading my blog posts. It really means a lot. Today we are going to talk about a very good and well known group, Got7. According to Wikipedia, Got7 is a South Korean boy group formed by JYP Entertainment The group is composed of seven members: JB, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom Got7 debuted in January 2014 with the release of their first EP Got It?, which peaked at number two on the Gaon Album Chart and number one on Billboard's World Albums Chart. The group gained attention for their stage performances, which includes elements of martial arts tricking, a style that the group became known for. In late 2014 Got7 signed with Sony Music Entertainment Japan and ventured into the Japanese market to release their debut Japanese-language single "Around the World". They returned to South Korea a month later to release their first full-length studio album Identify, topping the nation's charts. In 2015, Got7 released the EPs Just Right and Mad, the former which failed to top charts but yielded the group's most commercially successful single, "Just Right". In 2016, the group released their first full-length Japanese studio album Moriagatteyo, debuting at number three on the Oricon Albums Chart. They then went on to release their fifth Korean EP Flight Log: Departure and their second full-length studio album Flight Log: Turbulence, both chart-toppers. In March 2017 their music video for "Just Right" reached 100 million views on YouTube, making Got7 the first JYP Entertainment boy group to achieve this milestone. On March 13, 2017, they released their sixth EP Flight Log: Arrival, featuring the single "Never Ever." The album marks the third and final part of the group's Flight Log series. They've done so beautiful things with ā€œJust Right.ā€ That's my favorite song by them. I'll provide a link to the song. But anyway, let's get into the members. There are obviously 7 members. Mark is the oldest and Yugyeom is the maknae. And by the way, my bias is Jinyoung or ā€œJunior.ā€ Let's start from oldest to youngest. Also according to Wikipedia, Mark was born Mark Yi-en Tuan on September 4, 1993 (age 23) in Los Angeles, United States. He is the oldest member of the group and is of Taiwanese descent. In 2010, after getting cast by JYP Entertainment in the U.S., Mark moved to Korea for training. His first pre-debut appearance was on an episode of Mnet's reality-survival program WIN: Who Is Next, which aired on September 6, 2013. Mark, alongside Jackson, BamBam and Yugyeom, competed against trainees from YG Entertainment. Next, JB was born Im Jae-bum on January 6, 1994 (age 23) and is the leader of the group. He passed JYP Entertainment's local auditions in 2009 and debuted together with Jinyoung as the duo JJ Project in 2012. They both made their small-screen debut through the drama series Dream High 2. He also appeared in MBC's drama When a Man Falls in Love. Third, Jackson was born Jackson Wang Ka-yee on March 28, 1994 (age 23) in Hong Kong. He is a former representative of Hong Kong's national fencing team, earning two gold medals at the Asian Junior Olympics in Thailand in 2011. He claimed that earning a gold medal was one of his parents' requirements for allowing him to train in Korea. His father became a gold medalist in fencing in 1986, while his mother was a Chinese national gymnastics member. His first pre-debut appearance was in an episode of Mnet's reality-survival program WIN: Who Is Next with Mark, BamBam, and Yugyeom. Shortly after debut, Jackson became a variety star in South Korea due to his appearance on the SBS reality series Roommate, for which he was awarded the Newcomer Award at the 2014 SBS Entertainment Awards. From May to August 2015, Jackson was a regular MC for SBS's music show Inkigayo. In December 2015, Jackson made his Chinese television debut as one of the presenters of the talk show Go Fridge, and was well received. In December 2016 he appeared in his first solo commercial for Midea fridge in China. Fourth, Jinyoung was born Park Jin-young on September 22, 1994 (age 22). He passed JYP Entertainment's local auditions in 2009 and made his acting debut in 2011, playing the role of Jung Ui-bong in the television drama Dream High 2 in 2011. In 2012, Jinyoung debuted as a member of JJ Project with JB. The duo also made appearances on the MBC television drama When a Man Falls in Love in 2013. Jinyoung is the most prominent actor in the group, having played roles in Beloved Eun-dong and The Legend of the Blue Sea. In 2016, he made his big screen debut in the movie A Stray Goat. Jinyoung and BamBam were made permanent hosts for Mnet's M! Countdown alongside Key of SHINee from March 2015 to March 2016. Jinyoung originally debuted with the stage name Jr., since he shares the same name as JYP Entertainment's founder and CEO. On May 5, 2015, he changed his stage name to Junior due to the confusion of fans and media about the correct pronunciation of Jr. On August 16, 2016, he changed it again to his given name, Jinyoung. On February 1, 2017, SBS announced that he had been chosen, with NCT's Doyoung and Black Pink's Jisoo, as the new fixed MCs of SBS Inkigayo. Fifth, Youngjae was born Choi Young-jae on September 17, 1996 (age 20). In 2013, he became a trainee under JYP Entertainment after passing an audition at his music school in Mokpo. Youngjae cited Elliot Yamin, Sanjoy, and Javier Colon as three of his musical influences, auditioning with Elliott's songs. He was a trainee for just seven months and was the last member added to the group. Sixth, BamBam was born Kunpimook Bhuwakul on May 2, 1997 (age 20) in Bangkok, Thailand. BamBam started training in Korea at a very young age and, as a child, he was part of the dance crew "We Zaa Cool" alongside Blackpink's Lisa. He made his first TV appearance in an episode of Mnet's reality-survival program WIN: Who Is Next alongside Jackson, Mark and Yugyeom. In 2016, BamBam and Jackson appeared on the South Korean variety show Real Men for a special season with the theme of "Enlisting Together". BamBam and Jinyoung were made permanent hosts for Mnet's M! Countdown alongside Key of SHINee from March 2015 to March 2016. And last but not least, Yugyeom was born Kim Yu-gyeom on November 17, 1997 (age 19). He is the youngest member of the group, and is known for his street dancing. Yugyeom enrolled in dance school in seventh grade, which led him to the opportunity to audition for JYP. He made his first pre-debut appearance in an episode of Mnet's reality-survival program WIN: Who Is Next alongside Jackson, Mark and BamBam, which aired on September 6, 2013. In 2016, Yugyeom joined Mnet's dance survival contest Hit the Stage and was placed first in the final episode. This was a long blog post, guys and I'm sorta exhausted. That's all for this post, readers. Love y'all. Until next time... Word Count: 1203

ėÆøģ“°ģ—ģ“ (MissA)
Hello readers, welcome back! For this post I think I'm going to talk about one of the very first kpop groups I learned choreo to; Miss A. I learned the choreo to a song of theirs called I Don't Need A Man, with my kpop gal, Julianna, in the 8th grade for a talent show. Let's talk more about them. Miss A, stylized as miss A, is a South Korean-Chinese girl group based in South Korea formed by JYP Entertainment in 2010. Their group name stands for Miss Asia and the highest rank, A. The group currently consists of three members: Suzy, Fei and Min. Their fourth member Jia, left the group in May 2016 following her contract expiration. Now about some history. According to Wikipedia, Originally, the group consisted of five trainees who were formed by JYP Entertainment in 2010. While still in training, the group flew to China where they appeared in numerous variety shows performing dance routines and songs to showcase themselves to the Chinese audience. As the group had no official name, they were known to the Chinese audiences as JYP Sisters and the "Chinese Wonder Girls". However, the group went through several changes during this period; the withdrawal of two members and most notably the exit of member Lim who was re-grouped to join the Wonder Girls. In March 2010, fifteen-year-old trainee Bae Suzy joined the group and the trio became known as 'Miss A'. Miss A made their official debut in South Korea as a four-member group on July 1 with their single "Bad Girl Good Girl." The song was taken from their debut single album Bad but Good. Miss A received first place in the on KBS Music Bank, becoming the fastest girl group to take the #1 spot on a music show. The group also consequently got first place program Inkigayo from the SBS. On August 1, 2010, Miss A received their first "Mutizen" award on M.net's M! Countdown. The song stayed as the number 1 song for four straight weeks, breaking the previous record set by Girls' Generation. I don't listen to much of their music, and they're not really popular anymore. People like them though and I say you should give them a try. I'm not going to go into the members lives for this post, but definitely the next one. That's all for this blog post, guys. Thanks for reading. Until next time... Word Count: 405

ģ¹“ė“œ (K.A.R.D)
Hello readers! I'm back this week and this time we are going to talk about K.A.R.D, the only, at the moment, co-ed kpop group. I didn't know much about them at first, so I had to do some research. According to Wikipedia, K.A.R.D is a South Korean co-ed group formed by DSP Media in 2016. The group is composed of four members: J.seph, B.M, Somin and Jiwoo. On December 13, 2016, they released their first project single titled "Oh NaNa" featuring labelmate Heo Young-ji as a hidden member. They had planned to release three project single before they hold their official debut. Their follow-up project single titled "Don't Recall" was released on February 16, 2017, followed by its English version on March 1, 2017. DSP Media announced that Kard will be holding their first tour, "WILD KARD" in America, Canada, Brazil and Mexico from May to June 2017. Their final project single titled "RUMOR" was released on April 24, also as a part of collaboration with LG G6 brand. After its release, "Rumor" charted as #1 in 13 countries (U.S., Argentina, Brazil, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, El Salvador, Chile, New Zealand, Australia, and Bolivia) on iTunes main charts. I haven't listened to them, but I do recommend that you guys try out their music being that they are different from other kpop groups as the group contains females and males. There are four permanent members of the group and one hidden member. First is J.seph (Korean: ģ œģ“ģ…‰) born Kim Tae-hyung (Korean: ź¹€ķƒœķ˜•) on June 21, 1992 (age 24) in Chungju, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea. He represents the letter A and the Ace card. Next is B.M (Korean: ė¹„ģ— ) born Matthew Kim (Korean: ė§¤ķŠœź¹€) or Kim Jin-seok (Korean: ź¹€ģ§„ģ„) or Kim Woo-jin (Korean: ź¹€ģš°ģ§„) on October 20, 1992 (age 24) in Los Angeles, California, USA. He represents the letter K and the King card. Third is Jeon So-min (Korean: ģ „ģ†ŒėƼ) born on August 22, 1996 (age 20) in Seoul, South Korea. Prior to joining the group, Somin was a Puretty and APRIL member, and took part on the Kara Project where she finished in second place. She represents the letter R and the BlackJokeR. Jeon Ji-woo (Korean: ģ „ģ§€ģš°) born on October 4, 1996 (age 20) in Seoul, South Korea. She represents the letter R and the ColourJokeR. She is a former FNC Entertainment trainee. The one and only hidden member is Heo Young-ji (Korean: ķ—ˆģ˜ģ§€) born on August 30, 1994 (age 22)[11] in South Korea. She is a former member of KARA. She participated as a "Hidden Card" in their first single "Oh NaNa". Hidden is a variation of a song, or a member who featured in a song and participates in promotion without being completely part of the group. They represent the letter D in the group's name. Well that's all for this blog post. Thanks for reading. It's very much appreciated. Until next time... Word Count: 497

ģ„øėøķ‹“ (Seventeen)
Hello, my lovely readers! Welcome back to Kpop Trash. For this post, like I stated in the previous post, I will be talking about Seventeen members. I had said that because there were so many of them, it would have been too much information for the previous blog post. Let's begin. Recall that there are 13 members of Seventeen: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. I'm going to throw out some fun facts about them. First up and the oldest is, S.Coups. He trained in Pledis for 6 years. He was supposed to be a part of NUā€™EST. He was preparing to be in a 5-member group called Tempest before the group was disbanded to merge into what is now Seventeen. He hates lemons. He has been practicing Taekwondo for 7 years. He is a black belt. He is considered the dad of the group because heā€™s the oldest and because he has the most experience. When he plays video games, he can be very aggressive. He was the one who came up with his stage name. The S stands for ā€œSeventeenā€ and ā€œSeungcheolā€, and the Coups stands for ā€œbig successā€. His real name means ā€œWinning (Seung) Fairly (Cheol)ā€. He puts on a strong front because he hates showing off his weak side. Truthfully, he is very fragile inside. His nickname ā€œBeagle Kingā€ comes from him being stronger than his friends and his hyungs. He is very strict with his other members. He says he tries to be a role model for all of the other trainees. He originally was planning to become a vocalist, but he fell in love with rap and hip-hop. He lets fans that are older than him call him ā€œOppaā€. He loves the rooftop of his companyā€™s building. He says he can ease his heart there. His other members voted him to be the manliest out of all of them. He dreams of becoming an actor. Next is Jeonghan. He likes Korean food, especially stews and chicken. He says Joshua was the first member to approach him when he first became a trainee. He says heā€™s closest to Joshua among all the Seventeen members. He doesnā€™t really like candies. He was voted by the other members as the member with the best personality. Heā€™s envious of Seungkwanā€™s vocal skills. He calls himself ā€˜Angelā€™ because his birthday is on October 4th (1004 in Korean is ā€œCheonsaā€ which means ā€œAngelā€). Between 20 and Adore U, he prefers 20. His ideal type girl is someone who loves them and buys their albums. The meaning behind his real name is that Jeong means clean and Han means Country. It has the meaning that he will be like a clean milky way. He ranks himself third best visuals in the group. He says heā€™s the weakest member in the group. He gets tired easily and sleeps whenever and wherever he can. When he feels sleepy at the broadcasting stations, he would tell everyone he needs to use the washroom but heā€™s secretly sleeping there for 5 minutes. He looks up to SHINeeā€™s Taemin because he has shown a lot of growth from his debut album until now, so he hopes he can be like that and be helpful to the vocal team. He says he seems quiet but heā€™s actually not like that.Between dating someone older or younger, he prefers someone older because he needs someone to take care of him. These facts are funny right? I'm dying at some and all the information is according to pledis17.com. Next is Joshua. He likes reading, sleeping, eating, playing the guitar and singing. His favorite colors are Blue, Black, Brown & Pink. His favorite sport is Football. He loves anime. His favorites are One Piece, Naruto & Bleach. Heā€™s a christian. Heā€™s envious of Jihoonā€™s dancing & singing skills. He plays the guitar really well. His parents are his role models. His favorite korean artist is 2BiC. He would choose music over food. He loves the show Adventure Time. He doesnā€™t like the color green. He likes the korean drama Rooftop Prince. He likes horror movies. He likes Chris Brown, Usher, Eminem & Tupac. His favorite youtube artists are Gabe Bondoc, AJ Rafael & Jeff Bernat. He can cook. He loves chicken. He finds British accents hot. His favorite animals are rabbits. His favorite korean actor is Jang Donggun. He loves fairy tales. He said music is his life. Heā€™s a fan of EXO. He is on Team Jacob in the Twilight series. He prefers books over movies. He joined Pledis Entertainment and began his training in 2013. He finds it difficult to ask people for favors. His ideal type girl is someone who is kind. Between 20 and Adore U, he prefers 20. The meaning behind his name Joshua is that itā€™s a name from the bible. He views himself as a calm person. He attended church often when he lived in America. He was apart of the praise team and played the guitar. He is named Seventeenā€™s gentleman because he doesnā€™t get angry easily and talks softly. He wants to be like Shinhwa and be a team for a long time with a good relationship with the members. He wants to be a dutiful son to his parents and work hard and make them proud. When he lived in America, he would speak Korean at home and English at school so he is good at speaking it but not good at writing it. Between soccer or basketball, he prefers soccer. His favorite flavor of ice-cream is kiwi. I'm mostly doing a blog post so you guys can see which Seventeen members you are closest with so you can form a bong and get more into kpop. He says many Chinese students love kpop and thatā€™s how he became curious about it and moved to Korea. He says heā€™s in charge of quiet handsome boy. He ranks himself third most handsome in the group. He likes to hide a lot of Chinese and Korean snacks in his bag. He doesnā€™t eat them all at once, but eats them many times but the members eat all his snacks sometimes. Jelly snacks are his favorite. He likes 2+1. He likes to sing Chinese songs but he feels a little shy singing them in front of the members. His role models are Zhoumi and Henry because he wants to receive a lot of love from China and Korea like them. He wants to be an all-round entertainer and show the nice images of Seventeen to Chinese people. He said it was good to learn Korean but the pronunciation was very hard for him. Between dressing up or dressing down, he prefers dressing up. He is envious of coups confidence on stage and body. And then there's Hoshi. He had braces before, but had them removed. He speaks Japanese very well. He speaks basic Chinese. His favourite colours are black & white. He likes Beyonce & Omarion. He was voted by the other members as the member with the most aegyo. ģ„øėøķ‹“ (Seventeen)
Hello readers! Welcome back! I know I haven't been on for two weeks because it was spring break, but I'm back now. I was really struggling on trying to figure out what to write about and then I figured that I write about Seventeen. I actually don't know anything about them so I had to do research. That being said, all of the information I'm about write was new information to me. I do listen to some of their music though. Let's start. First off, who is Seventeen? Seventeen, also stylized as SEVENTEEN or SVT, is a South Korean boy group formed by Pledis Entertainment in 2015. There are thirteen members in the group who are separated into three different sub-units with different areas of specialization: a 'Hip-Hop Unit', 'Vocal Unit', and 'Performance Unit'. They have released one studio album and three extended plays. The group's members are deeply involved in the composition and production of their discography and choreography, leading to the nickname "self-producing" idol group. Now here's a little history on them. According to Wikipedia, Starting in 2013, Seventeen appeared in regular live broadcasts of a show called Seventeen TV on the online streaming platform UStream. During broadcasts fans were invited to watch Seventeen training in their practice room. The show had multiple seasons during which the trainees were introduced to the public, with some seasons ending in Like Seventeen concerts. Prior to debut, Seventeen also appeared in the reality TV show Seventeen Project: Big Debut Plan, broadcast on MBC between May 2ā€“26, 2015. The show was concluded with the group's debut showcase which featured songs that had been written and performed by sub-units in previous episodes. Seventeen debuted on May 26 with a live showcase televised by broadcasting network MBC. They were the first male K-pop group to debut with a one-hour live showcase on a major broadcasting channel, with label-mates Lizzy and Raina serving as MCs. Three days later, their first EP 17 Carat was digitally released, along with the music video for the title track "Adore U". The album ranked ninth on the Billboard World Albums chart a week after its release and peaked at eighth, staying on the chart for a total of eleven weeks. 17 Carat later became the longest-charting K-pop album of the year in the US and was the only rookie album to appear on Billboard's "10 Best K-pop Albums of 2015" chart. Now let's move onto the members. Hip-Hop Unit: S.Coups was born Choi Seung-cheol on August 8, 1995 (age 21). Wonwoo was born Jeon Won-woo on July 17, 1996 (age 20). Mingyu was born Kim Min-gyu on April 6, 1997 (age 20). Vernon was born Han-sol Vernon Choi on February 18, 1998 (age 19). Vocal Unit: Woozi was born Lee Ji-hoon on November 22, 1996 (age 20). Jeonghan was born Yoon Jeong-han on October 4, 1995 (age 21). Joshua was born Joshua Ji-soo Hong on December 30, 1995 (age 21). DK, also known as Do-kyeom, was born Lee Seok-min on February 18, 1997 (age 20). Seungkwan was born Boo Seung-kwan on January 16, 1998 (age 19). Performance Unit: Hoshi was born Kwon Soon-young on June 15, 1996 (age 20). Jun was born Wen Jun-hui on June 10, 1996 (age 20). The8 was born Xu Ming-hao on November 7, 1997 (age 19). ėøŒė¼ģš“ ģ•„ģ“ė“œ ź±øģŠ¤ (Brown Eyed Girls)
Hello, readers and welcome back! I'm here for another blog post, but I will take a little break after this one. I really try to come up with group to talk about that are popular now or some I like specifically, but now I'm going to do an interesting one. For this blog post, I am going to talk about one of the oldest active female groups and by oldest I mean has old members. This group is called Brown Eyed Girls. The Brown Eyed Girls often abbreviated as B.E.G., BG or beu-ah-geol is a South Korean girl group managed by Mystic Entertainment. The group consists of four members: JeA, Miryo, Narsha, and Gain. They debuted as an R&B/Ballad vocal group with "Come Closer" in 2006 and have since challenged themselves with a notable variety of different music genres. They rose to popularity in 2008 with "L.O.V.E" and their retro-dance number "How Come," though cemented their position in the K-pop world in 2009 with "Abracadabra", with its electronica-based genre, pioneering (albeit controversial) concept, along with its iconic and now globally recognized dance entitled ā€˜The Arrogant Danceā€™, successfully ingraining themselves into modern popular culture. The group started their venture into the Japanese music market with the release of a Japanese version of their massively successful 3rd Korean album, Sound-G, in late 2010, with full promotions being held throughout early 2011 under Sony Music Japan, where they gained moderate success. They returned to Korea in late 2011, to garner further success and critical acclaim with their 4th album and its title track "Sixth Sense". Other than promoting as a group, all of the members have released solo albums. Now let's get into a little background information. Because I don't know much about them, I looked them up. According to Wikipedia, The group's leader, Jea, was the one responsible of the group's creation and was actively involved in the selection of the other members, picking out Miryo, who was known as a great female rapper from the hip-hop community having previously worked with other fellow rappers, such as Gil Seong-joon from Leessang, and the main female rapper in well-known hip-hop group Honey Family. Narsha was chosen when Jea remembered her as a "talented singer" from her high school days, and Ga-in was selected by the three members after she was eliminated from "Battle Shin Hwa." According to Ga-in, she was crying in the bathroom after failing the audition, was found by composer Ahn Jung Hoon, and then was chosen through the audition in Brown Eyed Girls' company. Singer Yoari trained with the group until 2006, when it was decided she would be the lead singer for Sprinkler. The four members held several small size concerts, and was actually known as "Crescendo" before officially debuting as "Brown Eyed Girls." After more than 3 years of training in singing and holding several small size concerts, the Brown Eyed Girls released their debut album Your Story in South Korea in March 2, 2006, with the ballad track, "Come Closer" as their single. Debuting as a "faceless group" they did not appear on any visual media and chose to not even appear in their own music video. The album was well received by critics but did not do as well as expected commercially. The album was later re-released to include "Hold The Line" (which samples "Push The Button" by British girl band Sugababes and "Technologic" by Daft Punk). This song became a hit, further boosting the band's popularity. "Hold the Line" was disclosed across the world because it was included in the list of songs from the game Pump it Up. Now let's get into the members like we do with other groups. First is Kim Hyo-jin, or JeA. Born September 18, 1981, better known by her stage name JeA is a South Korean singer and songwriter. She is best known as the leader of South Korean girl group Brown Eyed Girls. As a solo artist, she has contributed numerous songs to various soundtracks. Second is Jo Mi-hye, or Miryo. Born November 2, 1981, Miryo is a South Korean rapper, songwriter and record producer. She is currently the rapper of girl group Brown Eyed Girls, and is a former member of rap group Honey Family. Miryo debuted as a soloist in 2012, after appearing as a producer in the first season of Show Me the Money. Third is Park Hyo-jin, or Narsha. Narsha, born December 28, 1981, is a South Korean singer and actress. Her stage name, Narsha, is derived from the term na-reu-sha, which means 'to fly up' in Middle Korean. Last but not least is Son Ga-in, or Gain. She, born September 20, is a South Korean singer, actress and entertainer. She is best known as a member of the South Korean girl group Brown Eyed Girls and for her appearances alongside Jo Kwon from 2AM for TV shows We Got Married and All My Love. As a solo artist she has released six EPs. Those are the four members of Brown Eyed Girls. That's all for this blog post, guys. Thanks for reading, I really appreciate all of you. Until next time... ķ¬ėÆøė‹› (4Minute)
Hello, readers! Welcome back! I'm kind of excited about today's blog post because I'm going to talk about one of my newest favorite kpop groups. The group isn't new, just my fondness of them. The group I'm talking about is none other than, 4Minute. 4Minute was a five-member South Korean girl group formed in 2009 by Cube Entertainment with music singles and albums released primarily in South Korea and Japan. The members of the group were Nam Ji-hyun, Heo Ga-yoon, Jeon Ji-yoon, Kim Hyun-a, and Kwon So-hyun. The group debuted in June 2009 with its first single, "Hot Issue", and in December 2010, it released its first Japanese album, Diamond. In 2011, the group released its first Korean full-length album, 4Minutes Left. The group received the Bonsang Award at the 20th Seoul Music Awards, and the Kpop New Artist Award at the 2010 Billboard Japan Music Awards. In 2016, Cube Entertainment announced the disbandment of 4Minute after unsuccessful contract renewal negotiation with the majority of the members. I don't really know background information on them so according to Wikipedia, On May 14, Cube Entertainment announced the formation of a five-member girl group, 4Minute, and revealed that its first member would be former Wonder Girls member Kim Hyun-a. Prior to the official announcement, the group was unofficially called the "Hyuna group". The next member, Nam Ji-hyun, was revealed on May 22. The remaining members were announced the following day. 4Minute released its first single, "Hot Issue", on June 15, and had their first television performance on MNet Countdown on June 18. On June 21, the group's van was raided by fans, who stole clothing and other items. Cube Entertainment said, "It was very unfortunate that such an ordeal occurred." On August 20, the group released its first mini-album called For Muzik along with its second single, "Muzik". The song won an Inkigayo Mutizen award. On August 27, South Korean radio and television network KBS banned the playing of "Won't Give You" for what they considered to be overly sexual lyrical content. The lyrics in question, in the style of a first-person narrative, express an unwillingness on the part of the subject to "give" herself or her heart to her partner. Cube Entertainment responded to the ban by stating that the song was intended to be "about the pure feelings of a girl to a guy" and that they were very disappointed by the decision. On October 15, the single "What a Girl Wants" was released. On December 2, 4Minute, with Korean singers Mario and Amen, released the Christmas song "Jingle Jingle". The group recorded a remix with American artist Amerie for her song "Heard 'em All" which was part of the Asian version of her fourth album. The song featured Korean rapper Jun Hyung of label mate Beast. On January 5, 2010, it was announced that the Universal Music Group would be assisting 4Minute with an international launch of its album. The group toured Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand, and Hong Kong. On May 5, the group debuted "Muzik" as a Japanese single, and on May 8, held its first concert in Japan. The single reached number 21 on the Oricon weekly singles chart. Unfortunately, On June 13, 2016 it was announced that the group would disband following their contract expiration, with only HyunA renewing her contract with the management agency. A Cube Entertainment representative stated, ā€œAs the contract end date approaches, the members have been in discussions for renewal, but while the agency tried to persuade them to continue the group, it ended up accepting the decision by the five members that they will not continue as a group. Due to the different opinion of the members, for all intents and purposes, the group will disband.ā€ I'm very sad about the disbandment of the group because I just started getting into them. Let's stray away from sadness and go through the members. First there's Nam Ji-Hyun. She was born on January 9, 1990 in Seoul, South Korea. Jihyun auditioned for JYP Entertainment but was eliminated. However, she then joined Cube Entertainment as a result of Cube Entertainment Founder Hong Seung-sung being recommended by JYP's recruitment department in finding members to form 4Minute. On February 24, 2015 she graduated from Sangmyung University receiving a degree in dance and a lifetime achievement award at the university's graduation ceremony. Next is Heo Ga-yoon. She was born on May 18, 1990, in Seoul, South Korea. Ga-yoon received second place at SM's 9th "Best Singer Contest" in 2005. She graduated from Dongduk Girl's High School and is currently attending Dongguk University, majoring in theater. On September 17, 2014, Gayoon, together with other stars, were appointed as ambassadors of Dongguk University. Third is Jeon Ji-yoon. She, born October 15, 1990, better known mononymously as Jiyoon or by her stage name Jenyer, is a South Korean singer-songwriter and actress. She was previously a member of South Korean girl group 4Minute and its sub-group 2Yoon. She debuted as a solo artist on November 2, 2016, under the stage name Jenyer, with the release of her debut digital single, "I Do". Second to last is So-hyun. She was born in Seoul, South Korea, on August 30, 1994.She attended Kumho Junior High School and Pungmoon Girls' High School, graduating from the latter in February 2013. She was ranked fourth in her class. In November 2014 was revealed that So-hyun was accepted into Dongguk University's Department of Theatre and Film. So-hyun debuted as a member of the group Orange in 2005 when she was 12 years old. Lastly and most importantly, as people say, is Kim Hyun-ah. Hyun-ah, born June 6, 1992, better known by the mononym Hyuna, stylized as HyunA, is a South Korean singer, dancer, songwriter and model. She was a former member of the South Korean girl group 4Minute, and was one of the first five original members of South Korean girl-group Wonder Girls. She is one-half of the musical duo Trouble Maker, and has also led a successful solo career. Hyuna first rose to fame in the South Korean girl-group Wonder Girls, before she left in 2007 for health reasons. In 2008, she signed with Cube Entertainment and subsequently debuted with 4Minute a year later. Their debut single, "Hot Issue", was immediately successful as it grabbed attention from the public even before their debut stage. She has a notable solo career, having several hit songs such as "Bubble Pop" and "Red". She is also well known for her appearance in Psy's worldwide hit "Gangnam Style", which also led to a successful duet rendition of the song. She describes her solo career as "performance-oriented music". So yeah, that is basically 4Minute. I'm glad to have talked about them and even find out some things myself. That's all for this blog post though. Thank you for reading. Until next timeā€¦ (P.s. I will provide a link to my favorite song by them so check it out) Word Count: 1157
