pspspsps does anyone have any good disabled musicians/bands/artists they’d recommend? their music doesn’t have to be about their disability, i just Need more content made by disabled folks
hi i wrote a short paper in april abt disability & contemporary music and here is a playlist (link) that accompanied that paper. it’s specifically about adaptive play-styles or adaptive instruments for disabilities, so while most of these aren’t about disability, all these pieces are impacted by the composer or performer’s disabilities.
ALSO, not featured in this playlist, but some music i looked into in this project’s research is music from Beethoven who was Deaf, specifically his 9th symphony (he used a lot of assistive devices to compose music contrary to popular belief). also this song (link) from the Original Crooks and Nannies is very fun. Toby Fox, creator of undertale and composer of megalovania, is also disabled, so i definitely recommend his music. the composer Iannis Xenakis is also disabled, his music is much more academic. composers Sergei Rachmaninov & Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky are more historical composers who were both disabled. Ben Lunn is a contemporary disabled composer. Tony Mendelez and Django Reindhardt are both disabled guitarists. (and as a little aside, im a disabled musician too and this is where my music is (link) )
i have a ton more info on disabled musicians, so ill def share more if u want, this is just what was off the top of my head! if ur interested in the paper which goes more in depth about ableism in music and the backgrounds of the pieces in the playlist, ill try to figure out how to actually share it without sharing my personal email & name bc google docs. sorry for the long rambling, u just hit my niche

we should incorporate more of eebydeebism's literary roots into it. does no one remember lewis carroll's jabberwocky. this shit will knock your socks off i promise. its literally nonsense words that make sense. look at this.
we need more mimsy borogoves alongside our plinko horses
does hatsune miku qualify as a fictional character or is she real. like it's different from, say, gorillaz, cause her entire thing is that she's a robot/computer program/what have you, and also she isn't an alter ego for one specific artist. so by being canonically digital in her lore and also the same thing in real life i don't think she is fictional. my point is when you play games that feature her she is actually talking to you like you are conversing face to face with the actual real hatsune miku and not just her likeness
Welp, guess who just got interested in The Owl House.
Season 2 ended and I really need to catch up. If you’re wondering why I only started now, I was given the delightful pleasure of knowing Hunter, who has won my heart and compelled me to not only watch the show but look at fanfiction. Which is what lead me to is hello, my hollow Holofernes by TheAndersonRecord.
People might’ve been wrong about The Collector!Luz but I am officially joining the train of Hunter being possessed because why not? I love seeing sweet boys going through a mental crisis, both from inside and outside influences.
I hope you enjoy my fanart of your work, TheAndersonRecord!
