house of hades would've been more interesting if annabeth and percy got separated, and they had to decide between finding each other and finding their way out. considering they both had povs for some reason, and annabeth was struggling with a hurt ankle and no weapons, it would've been a great time to see her be resourceful alone, but also connect to moa's theme of "wisdom walks alone". even in hell, the gods won't help her and she's forced to figure it out... or at least until percy shows up at the last minute and he definitely feels. different. darker. changed.

nico sits on the roof of his cabin one summer night and he’s wearing hazel’s sweatshirt that she left behind and he’s just looking at the stars. the air is warm and he can hear the gentle rustle of branches in the wind. and he feels safe for first time in years. he feels small when he looks up at the vast sky but then again he’s always been small. his body stopped growing a long time ago and though his physical trauma and starvation causes him to watch his friends to outgrow him physically, nico has never felt himself grow so much on the inside. he still heals right beside them, in his own way. at his own pace. his body may not fully recover and he may carry wounds with him for the rest of his life but he’s finally decided to stop worrying about that. because he may be small but his heart has never felt so whole and big. and though his body doesn’t grow and doesn’t heal the way he might have hoped he’s still going to heal. he’s going to do it his own way and he’s going to love himself for it.

i mean this in the nicest way possible you guys but you NEED to take better care of yourselves online. getting severely anxious about mass quantities of horrible things you cant change every single day is normal considering the internet’s ability to educate on worldwide issues, it shows that you have empathy and that you truly do care. but relentless knowledge of constant suffering on this scale is NOT something humans are psychologically equipped to handle. it’s okay to shut off. it’s okay to just take a break and enjoy yourself for a while in your own localized space
