Heres the thing you gotta understand about statistics. 

“Increases your chances by 80%” does not mean “there is now an 80% chance”. 

If your chances were previously 10%, your chances are now 18%, not 90%. 

if your chances were roughly 1%, they’re now just slightly less than 2%. 

thats how that works.

Also on topic of Consent: whenever somebody says "Kids should have bodily autonomy!" some guy always is like "You are too unrealistic. What will you do when a kid is seeing the doctor and doesn't want to get a shot? Would you just let them refuse the shot?"

Yeah I probably would. You're straight up asking the wrong person if you want the nice normal answer here. Doctors and nurses forcibly doing (relatively routine) things to my body against my protests when I was a small kid fucked me up so bad that as an adult anything medical related is a huge trigger for me, I've had persistent intrusive thoughts and recurring nightmares about medical procedures, and I can't have even the most basic tests and health checks done on top of it.

I hate talking about it because I can't get comfortable calling it "trauma" and I don't have any other words that are useful, but it's made my life so much harder and really scary since if I start having a weird symptom, there's nothing I can move myself to do about it.

I figured out a loophole where going to a pharmacy instead of a doctor's office for vaccines reduces some of the stress, but I was still in stress and misery for days before I went to get my tetanus shot. The repulsion is so intense it feels like I literally don't have control over myself, it feels like I can't make appointments or plans about such things out of my own free will, and so every year I have guilt guilt guilt guilt guilt about how I should get the flu shot, and it does nothing but ineffectually hurt me.

Vaccines save lives and all that, but when it comes right down to it, I don't think it's actually a net benefit to public health to give any percentage of kids lifelong psychological scars so deep and painful they're almost completely barred from accessing health care as adults.

I know I'm not the only one, far from it.

Also, I think proship vs antiship discourse is soooo fucking stupid. No one needs to justify why they ship a ship, and no one needs to justify why they don't ship a ship. That includes the taboo and amoral ships. I don't like those kinds of ships either (I hate them, actually), but instead of attacking the people who ship them, I use this very cool feature called the block button. Then, I continue to live life as I've always had. (You can still judge people for shipping weird ass ships. You, however, cannot force people to stop shipping those ships.)

Goatee Nick: getting an expert opinion

Diego plays it off, stating: "woops - apologies, hand slipped, anyway-" with his speech bubble captioned with 'smooth recovery!!'.

the final panel is like the 4th but bigger and back to being drawn with more detail. Diego is leaning back with his hand close to his own chin again and a pleased smile and blush, slightly sweating from having recovered his slip up; he makes his final positive judgement on the goatee and says "well done! it looks good on you birdie~". Phoenix is still somewhat blushing but he's smiling and leaning back tilted bashfully, responding with "haha, you think? i quite like it myself!" Trucy has put on a calm and friendly smile one her face, but is turning her head to look away and brought her hand up to shield her peripheral view; above her is a faded crudely simplified drawing of her face that reveals her internalized true expression of a stunned grimace. she thinks to herself both impressed and slightly horrified at the outlandish unintentional flirting her father experience with 'wowwww'.

01 - Are you named after anyone?

Well. No? Neither in my creation as an OC nor in my existence during source.

02 - When was the last time you cried?

Last month. I, ah. I got emotional over a Tiktok video.

03 - Do you have kids?

I have my intern in source and his classmates. Other than that, dear fucking lord, I hope not. One would assume that I would know, but wonders never cease.

04 - What sports do you play/have you played?

None in particular, I don't think.

05 - Do you use sarcasm?

I wonder.

06 - What is the first thing you notice about people?

Typically, it's how they interact with others. I'm not an extroverted person in the least, so I tend to avoid the spotlight during social interactions. Because of that (and my awareness in general), I'd consider myself good at reading people.

Physically speaking, I would say it's probably someone's voice that I notice first.

07 - What's your eye color?

Also blue, though it's a bit more like turquoise. I believe that still counts. Regardless. OC fictive things.

08 - Scary movies or happy endings?

Hmm, I enjoy horror media in general quite a lot, especially when I can theorize about it with things like analogue horror on YouTube. But between the two, I think I prefer a happy ending.

09 - Any talents?

...I assume it's probably unfair to answer this with qualities that my quirk gives me in source?

Aside from that, I'd say that I'm a decent singer, and I'd like to consider myself a good writer as well. Maybe that's biased, though.

10 - Where were you born?

Suburban Japan.

11 - What are your hobbies?

A lot of art. Writing, cooking, and music as well.

12 - Do you have any pets?

I had a cat named Bento in source. She was a Somali. I miss her a lot, and I'd like to get a cat similar to her when we're able to.

13 - How tall are you?

Five foot seven inches, the same as we are physically.

14 - Favourite subject in school?

Arts and language classes.

15 - Dream job?

Source-wise? I didn't actually think I was suited for heroism at first. I was rather concerned about what I would do for a career.

As an alter, living in America, in this economy? God knows.

I'd like to be a streamer, honestly. It sounds like an enjoyable career and we've been told that we'd be good at it, but streaming is difficult in a house of four and I wouldn't quite know how to handle systemhood in content creation.

Nope. Literally was given "the only name your father and I didn't argue about." - the exact response I got.

Actual deep sobbing? I can't even remember. Tears? Ugh. Playing P3Re right now. It's wrenched a couple out of me.

03 - Do you have kids?

I have dogs. And about a million oc-types.

04 - What sports do you play/have you played?

Softball as a kid. I think that was about it?

I'm sorry, is there other ways of communicating?

06 - What is the first thing you notice about people?

i tend to do a general sweep over them. whatever catches my eye is different for everyone - sometimes height or hair, other times an accessory or an attitude.

07 - What's your eye color?

Blue. Pale-boring-blue.

08 - Scary movies or happy endings?

Scary movies. I have a thing where I'm like... not great with happy endings. They make me roll my eyes too much. A good moderate ending though? A+

09 - Any talents?

I'm an excellent mimic - accents, tone, all that. I cook really well (although I think that's more of a skill - I've done it for like... ever. probably longer than a lot of y'all have been alive), I'm told I'm an excellent leader. I think that's a lie.

10 - Where were you born?

New York - upstate. not city. there's a LOT more to NY than the city, I promise. I grew up opposite Toronto on Lake Ontario for anyone who knows the geography.

11 - What are your hobbies?

Uh. Spending way too much time thinking of fictional men. That's the main one really. Gaming. I'm looking forward to the latest FFXIV expansion, and I'm kind of a whore for Persona mainline games. I try to read, but untreated massive stupid mental issues have made that almost impossible.

12 - Do you have any pets?

2 dogs! One is a gigantic labrador retriever (seriously - I grew up with these beasts. he's the tallest one I've ever known, and at 110lbs he is SKINNI), and an 85lb ball of attitude wrapped in black and white fur. The genetics claim he's pitbull/akita/pyr/chow... but I dunno if I believe it. he's an absolute freak though.

13 - How tall are you?

5f7. so, like... idk. 170cm? is that about right?

14 - Favourite subject in school?

Art and English/Literature. I loved French until I got a horrible teacher.

15 - Dream job?

I don't dream of having a job. I dream of finding an enormous drum stuffed full of cash that will allow me to waste my life chasing pleasure and fun instead of working.
