It has been reported that a Palestinian living in Sweden will soon be deported back to Gaza, occupied Palestine.
The Swedish Migration Agency determined that “the situation is not such that everyone and anyone risks being killed or injured by the armed conflict simply by being in Gaza.”
Trapped in Gaza City’s Shaikh Ridwan neighbourhood, the Palestinian al-Khaldi family rushed to the ground floor of their home as Israeli forces bombed nearby, thinking that would be the safest spot.
An Israeli air strike then hit the house next door around 1pm on Thursday, killing some of the neighbours and wounding Fatima al-Khaldi, a mother of two.
But it was too late at that point to flee or attempt to reach the hospital, as Israeli tanks encircled the area and soldiers were getting closer.
The house was sheltering around 30 people, including some who were displaced earlier in the war from other parts of the city.
At around 8pm, Israeli soldiers arrived.
“Without regard for women, children, or the elderly who were sleeping, [they] lobbed two grenades into the house,” said Fahed al-Khaldi, Fatima’s brother-in-law, who was in southern Gaza at the time.
“They then opened fire directly at people and in an indiscriminate manner, without differentiating between young and old,” al-Khaldi added, relaying the event as told to him later by his brother Mohammad.
Five people died immediately, including Ahmed, Khaled’s other brother and Fatima’s husband. One of their sons, Faisal, was wounded.
“Whoever is still alive, get out of the room now,” the soldiers said, according to Fahed.
The survivors, among them Fahed’s older brother Mohammed, were then queued in the yard of the house, before being stripped of their clothes.
After they were frisked and interrogated, they were given specific directions by the soldiers to flee if they wanted to live.
They left, fearing for their lives, and left behind those killed and wounded.
“The soldiers then returned to the room and executed all the injured,” Fahed said.
Fatima, who was pregnant, was left to bleed to death.
Faisal, her four-year-old son wounded in the raid, survived and was later taken to al-Shifa hospital.
There, his uncle Mohammed was shocked to hear that the young boy needed six surgical operations, which doctors at the hospital - destroyed earlier by Israeli forces - did not have the resources to perform.
Palestinians arrested by Israeli forces during Israel’s ongoing aggression on Gaza described the torture and abuse they were subjected to during the last month. They were brought to a Gaza hospital for treatment following their release.
I woke up this night at 3:00 AM to the sound of trembling and moaning from a group of young men left behind by the occupying forces after their capture. The enemy army entered the Al-Sitfawi clinic, which shelters a thousand displaced people, and arrested all the young men. They were forced to undress in this extremely cold weather, and were beaten and insulted for 11 hours in the cold without food or clothing. A large number of young men were captured, and only 10 were released, who came to one of the shelters. Their condition is now very difficult without clothes, and the cold carves into their bodies. Now they are only wrapped in a simple cloth. One of the young men confirms that they were subjected to the worst humiliations, the simplest being a soldier urinating on you, denying you water, and after being released, preventing you from taking your clothes. This situation has been repeated with thousands of citizens. How long will this go on?

Middle East Eye’s correspondent on the ground in Gaza says the situation in the tal al-Hawa area is “very very terrifying” due to the heavy Israeli bombing.
“There is widespread destruction in tal al-Hawa, in front of al-Quds Hospital and the Red Crescent Hospital,” he said. He also described “entire buildings being levelled to the ground” as Israeli shelling continues.
“The Red Crescent building and al-Quds Hospital have been burned. The Israeli army is searching everything inside medical facilities, including in doctors’ closets, their clothes, and everything inside buildings,” he added.
According to our correspondent, decomposing bodies of Palestinians are left out in the streets.
“I can’t explain how bad the scenes are here,” he said, adding that Israeli forces are “stealing everything” inside Palestinian homes after forcibly displacing families.
“Even children’s toys are being stolen by Israeli forces,” he said.
Israeli army vehicles have also been running over the corpses on the ground, disfiguring them and tearing them apart.
“Some of the corpses have nothing left to them after being violated, you can just about make out the head or some of their organs or body parts,” he explained.
The streets of tal al-Hawa have bodies strewn across them as emergency services have not been able to reach the area due to coming under attack amid heavy bombing, and the lack of fuel after Israel cut off all fuel, electricity, food and water to Gaza on 9 October.
“People are trying to cover the dead bodies with scrap pieces of carton or cardboard… the smell in the air is not pleasant at all.”
“You ask me what I would do, and the answer is simply leveling the ground and to kill the largest number possible. Because the woman there is an enemy, the baby there is an enemy, and the first grader is an enemy, and the Hamas militant is an enemy, and the pregnant woman is an enemy,” says Eliyahu Yossian, Israeli analyst and veteran of Unit 8200, a high-tech spy branch of the Israeli military.

Israeli journalist calls for the total destruction and demolition of Gaza
Israeli journalist Boaz Golan says Israel should have killed 150,000 people in Gaza on the first day of the war.
In an interview on the Israeli Channel 14, he dismissed talks between US President Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu as futile. Golan says Israel must ‘finish off’ and destroy Gaza and demolish all the houses there.
Israel has killed over 20,000 Palestinians in Gaza since the start of its assault on 7 October. Nearly half of those are children. Nearly two million people have been displaced.
Palestinian men and boys in Gaza describe the torture, humiliation, and dehumanization that they suffered during their time as captives of the Israeli occupation forces. “They forced us to make dogs’ sounds,” one man tells the camera. “If you refused to do so, they would beat you.” Another tells the reporter, “When they saw us falling asleep, they would come with a lighter and burn our backs with it.”
“Every hour was like years,” the same man says. “The torture was unbelievable.” Reports have emerged in recent days of mass roundups, torture, and execution of men and boys in Beit Hanoun and other parts of north Gaza. Detainees were identified by loved ones and others in the community who recognized them from the photos the occupation forces have been releasing: one detainee standing naked with his arms up, for example, was identified as a prominent physician.
As more footage and testimony are released, the depth of the horrors inflicted upon our people in Gaza are being brought to light. While we may never know the full extent of those horrors, what we already know is enough for any person of conscience to be able to identify as war crimes that are as depraved as they are systematic.
“My message for the world is to look at those detainees,” the final detainee tells viewers. “We are respected people. We are not animals.”
