okay so back in like.. july, i did a “six characters that remind you of me” art challenge but once i moved into my dorm and started college i kinda abandoned it.. BUT i finished three of the six characters back in august so why have them collect dust in my folder?

cabs week day 3: your introduction

my first introduction to the caballeros was in 2018 with their original film from 1944, which turned 77 last week! this gets a little long, so i'm putting my history under the cut lol

i had recently gotten into the ducktales reboot and started looking more into other duckverse things, the first being the three caballeros! i started looking everywhere for whatever clips i could find to watch and slowly fell more in love with these three wacky birds! i loved seeing the wartime era animation and music which was all pretty nostalgic for me since i grew up with all the older disney movies on vhs

it was inevitable that i would introduce the three caballeros to my best friend grim, the mod of @three-caballeros-fandom-archive, who also ended up with an interest in the characters and the movie (you're welcome >:) .) we were both there for the lottc ✨discovery✨ and when they were announced to appear on ducktales! and a fond memory i've had since finding the caballeros is watching the movie for the first time with grim while eating rainbow sherbert at 1 am at their house

i really love donald, josé, and panchito and i've been stuck on those three birds since 2018, but i won't complain about it cause they mean a lot to me :)

pretty sure i drew this a few days after "louie's eleven" came out and i've been meaning to post it! i love the dt17 version of the caballeros especially with the idea of them being college roommates, that is a very fun idea to mess around with :) (also donald is waving at daisy)
