“I was standing in the front yard of my parents house. The door to the front porch was open, and I could hear classical music coming from inside. The soft yellow light of the living room illuminated the front windows. I walked around a bit, pausing to look up at the night sky. It was orchid purple, and dotted with swarms of black crows. They landed in the two maple trees out front. They flew back and forth between the two trees, squawking and cawing. More and more arrived by the minute, until the entire trees were black. Feathers fell from the treetops like confetti. Little pin feathers, then bigger ones, and bigger, and bigger, until I was finding ones the size of ceiling fan blades. as the music built to a crescendo, a single crow flies out of the swarm and lands on my shoulder. It nuzzles my neck, and then drops something at my feet as it flies away. It’s a single skeleton key. As I pick it up, every single bird in the trees flew away in a big black cloud.”

“Fighting to get through the day” 7/10/21
It’s always more of the same, I mutter to myself.
I lace up my boots and clench my teeth
Here we go again.

“Sean, the parasite.” 6/30/21
I just got her to smile again.
And here you come, trying to worm your way back into her life again
In the most pathetic fucking ways possible.
