After Andromeda left, Druella cried for days and Cygnus became distant and indisposed because he missed his favourite daughter and could not endure her betrayal. Narcissa was shocked and angry at herself for still wanting Andromeda as a sister. And Bella, Bella, gods Bellatrix was so angry. Angry at Andromeda for abandoning her because they were supposed to marry the Lestrange brothers together. Angry at Andromeda because she had everything, everyone loved her and still she threw it away. And angry at the Mudbloods for 'stealing' her sister that her hatred against them was fuelled tenfold. She had always wanted to be a Death Eater but this was her moment of truth.

Andromeda Black leaving was the first fall of rain before the storm. It is the reason the Black family died out. Bellatrix refusing to have kids and seeping into Black madness. Narcissa marrying Lucius to run away from it all. Sirius finding the strength to leave because Andromeda left. Druella fading away until she quite literally did. Cygnus pushing everyone until some pushes back. Wallburga pressuring her sons and going to even worse extremes so they don't fall like Andromeda did. and still failing. Regulus entering the cave to protect Sirius and Andromeda.

it destroyed all of the Black family because Andy was beloved by all, she was the darling jewel, the family angel. and so when she left it shattered everything.

I mentioned this vaguely a bit ago but I think each of Inej's six knives can be argued to all match up to one of the crows. You can probably swap a few of them and some are stronger than others, but:

Petyr: archers, reknowned for his bravery = Inej; 'the heart is an arrow', 'lovely and brave and better...', and it was her first knife, a gift from Kaz

Lizabeta: flowers and gardens = Matthias; the yellow tulips, laid out in the Van Eck garden

Alina: orphans and undiscovered gifts = Nina, who was raised in an orphanage and fought in the Second Army like Alina, and has a very new and undiscovered gift after parem alters her power

Marya: those far from home = Wylan, the runaway; plus his mother's name is Marya!

Anastasia: the sick = Jesper; there are many kinds of sickness, and both were grisha in hiding with their father after their mother's death

Vladimir: the drowned, unlikely achievement = Kaz, birthed (...) in the harbour, emerged to repeatedly achieve the impossible

Regulus' trauma is always discussed in jegulus stories, for good reason. Of course, James helps him navigate through his coldness and his doubt, helping regulus learn to trust a little more with each passing interaction. And of course it always adds this unforseen layer of depth to regulus' character. It makes you feel for him, while also allowing him to have that sort of crude demeanor about him for the sake of plot.

But it's James that gets me.

But the sun too must dim. And every time I absolutely fall to my knees sopping up every word spoken about it. I can't bear but fall in love with the tragedy that is James Potter every single time it comes up. He gives so much. And if spreading himself so thin that he starts to tear means everyone else gets their solstice? Of course he'll carry that burden. And of course, every time regulus eventually catches wind of this. Of course, he forces James to feel. And of course, James learns purpose beyond his value to others. And of course, he finally has someone there for him. Because if not outward trauma, James Potter is tired. And someone now realizes that. Of course, Its predictable. And of course, every time it happens it means more to me.
