Imagine that Barty’s life was always agitated. Like imagine him, undiagnosed BPD, not having a single moment of calm in his life and then BOOM he meets James. They met in one of the Potter’s Christmas parties that his father had dragged him too.
James, undiagnosed ADHD, also had never had a single moment of calm in his life, but in his case it was far more internal.
So they meet, and they get along right off the bat. Barty is so intrigued on how much he talks when he’s exited and loves to try and follow his line of thought, and James is in awe of how insanely brave and smart Barty is to the point in which he finds his mind following BARTY’S thinking instead of his own.
Like Barty’s voice is white noise to James, it helps him focuse and James’s thinking is so interesting to Barty that he doesn’t want to do anything but hear James talk for hours.
They both found peace in each other and it’s so beautiful to me.
