a good amount of distance is shared between you and chris, while you watch a movie with him and his brothers. your seated beside nick, watching as he scrolls through something on his phone, while matt and chris sit and actually enjoy the movie.

you aren't exactly sure what movie you all are watching. an old horror movie maybe? it's incredibly hard to watch and pay attention, when chris is staring at you from across the room. he hasn't said a word to you the entire night, but you know somethings going through his head after last nights conversation.

you've been best friends with the triplets for years and when he right out confessed he had feelings for you, you didn't know what to do or say. you ended up telling him that you didn't want to ruin your friendship, and turned him down. he hasn't said anything to you sense, but he's making it more than obvious that he wants to talk.

you fold your hands in your lap, avoiding his glaze when nick sits up from next to you. your eyes watch as he stands up and begins heading towards his room. "hey- what the fuck?" matt says, causing his brother to stop and turn around.

"i need to edit." nick says, looking between the group. "your welcome to do it for me or you can continue to sit on your ass?"

you laugh at nick while he keeps walking to his room. matt curses under his breath, sitting up and looking at his phone. your eye brows furrow, noticing that everyone is upping and leaving. "we have a meeting in the morning." matt notifies, grabbing a bottled water from the fridge. "i'm going to shower and then go to sleep."

you send pleading eyes to matt, not wanting to be left alone with chris, but he ignores you, and keeps walking. "good night." you mutter, reaching out for you phone. you can feel chris' eyes on you, but avoid his glaze. your eyes glance at the time on your phone frowning. it's nearly two and you didn't want to stay over too late.

you sit up from the couch, and chris sits up quickly with you. you both exchange a look before you turn your eyes away. "it's... late." you say and chris groans.

"come on, y/n." you look at chris seeing the plead in his eyes. his arms are at his sides, while he stands still. you want to joke to your bestfriend about how needy he looks, but you can't. your entire thoughts are blank and you feel it hard to look at him. "you've looked at me all day like i'm a ghost."

you feel embarrassed now. your hands hug at your stomach as you look at chris. "because i don't know what to say. you told me you had a crush on me, how do i respond to that?"

chris laughed, crossing his arms. "you don't have to pretend it didn't happen. or that i'm a nobody to you."

"nothing did happen!" you say, raising your voice, but then remembering matt is right down the hall. you clear your voice, hugging your waist tighter. "nothing can happen. okay?"

chris' eyes travel around you, before he meets your eyes. he's hesitant. it's written all over his face, and you hate how guilty it's making you feel.

"can you see me using everything to hold back?"

"no." he says, looking at the ground.

your eye brows draw together in confusion. "no?"

your both silent for a moment as chris stares at you. his eyes have soften and he's relaxed his shoulders. you want to talk about this with him and tell him how much you actually care and what to be with him, but something deep down is tugging at that feeling. it feels like you need to hold back, regardless of how much you wish to stare the string between the two of you.

"i'm not going to pretend i haven't had a crush on you since we were little. that's foolish and as much as i want to say i don't like you that way, i can't."

you look at chris as he takes a step forward. your breathing quickens as his hand reaches for your cheek, gently places his cold fingers against it. your eyes look up to meet his blue glossy eyes.

you find yourself relaxing into his touch. your shoulders grow less tense and your arms slowly wrap against his waist. he smiles at that, as he rest his forehead against your temple. your fighting possibly every muscle in your body as you just breathe in his scent and relax against him.

his free hand creeps around your back, as he pulls you closer against him. your eyes look down at how close in proximity you guys are as chris never takes his eyes off you. "can we just... try?" you hear him say above you as your eyes feel watery.

you meet his eyes, nodding your head slowly. "okay."

"okay," chris repeats, closing his lips against your temple. "okay."

"i guess this could be worse. walking out the door with your bags."

MATT WAS BEYOND EXCITED WHEN YOU GUYS FINALLY MOVED IN WITH EACH OTHER. i mean before you guys even got your own apartment, you slept over at his shared house with his brothers numerous times, but it was about time you guys got a small place to yourself.

it’s nearly twelve o’clock and matt’s got his head resting on his elbow while watches you sleep peacefully. he’s got a meeting with his brothers in a couple hours, but he doesn’t even care. he loves laying in bed, your shared bed, until it’s mid afternoon. he’ll wait last minute to get out of bed because he loves hanging out with you.

your drowsy eyes began to open slowly but you don’t jump at matt looking at you, just as tiredly. you just smile, nudging your head further into the pillow. "morning matty." you whisper, moving your hand to your face to rub your eyes. his eyes follow your face, turning a tiny red.

"good morning." he only says. you glance over at the clock laid on the end table. your eyes widen slightly noticing how late it is and how late matt is getting out of bed.

"it’s almost time for you to go, why aren’t you dressed?" you question, rising up from the bed.

matt continues to watch in, unfazed and unbothered. "ive got some time to kill." he mutters, lifting from the pillow and reaching for your cheek. he pulls you close, planting a gentle kiss on your temple. "besides i wanted to get ready with you."

that’s how most mornings are with matt. he’ll wake up an hour or so before you, just to lay and wait for you to wake. he doesn’t love getting ready or eating without you.

same goes as for dinner plans and lunch. he will never eat without you if your at home with him. sitting at the table or the bar island with your meals just eating and talking is somehow comforting to him.

he never forces you to wash dishes either. since he’s home half the time, he’ll tidy up and let you rest from time to time. same goes for you when he’s been filing a lot with his brothers. you guys don’t set a chore list typically, but you know who and when that person does what.

you look at matt with a love sick smile. he’s pushing himself out of bed, and heading towards the master bath, sweat pants sagging. he turns back, toothbrush and paste in his hands. "what?"

"oh nothing." you laugh, shaking your head. "just wondering whose cooking brunch."

you find yourself crawling out of bed too in matt’s shirt and underwear. he catches a glimpse of your legs before you quickly slide into some pj pants hanging from the bed. you don’t know weather their yours or matt’s. you both live for the baggy clothes live and since you’ve moved in together, it’s impossible to track whose clothes belong to who.

WHEN YOU MATT ASKED YOU TO BUY A CAT YOU IMMEDIATELY WERE CONFUSED AND WAS QUICK TO BLAM LARRY. he’s been spending way too much time with coochie and that cat must’ve possessed him to want to buy a cat of his own.

you didn’t have anything against raising a cat with your boyfriend, the problem was you’d end up raising it yourself. with him busy filming and tour, he’d never be home to raise the cat with you.

i mean there’s plenty of room in your apartment to raise a small kitten, but the problem was just commitment and parenting.

"come one please. this could be our practice run when we want to have kids." he went on, rubbing his fingers through your tangled air.

you’ve both been laying in bed all morning just talking about random stuff that you didn’t even notice it was almost one o’clock.

“we aren’t having kids anytime soon matt." you quickly said, bringing his free hand on your stomach to in front of your face. you fiddled with his fingers while you kept listening to matt’s pleads.

"i know! but like you know we could both agree on a cute name and like treat he or she like our child. you could even buy cute clothes and toys."

you still weren’t too sure of this idea but the thought if owning a cat just does seem exciting. "matty i don’t know���"

"we could put it off and just think about it later. i just brought it up now since we were both just talking about things in our chest." matt muttered, removing his hand from your hair to reach for his phone on the night stand.

you groaned, sitting up from his chest, looking at him. his eyes followed yours confused.

"it’s just-" you start, trying to find something to focus on but his eyes. matt notices this and immediately places his phone down. "i feel like owning a cat together is a very big commitment. i mean we’ve only been dating a few years and i haven’t had anything like this that makes me feel so happy."

matt nods, watching your eyes. "and it’s not that i’m sure we’ll break up or anything, because i know we won’t, but it’s just scary. and i don’t want us to get messy. things are moving really fast and i don’t know if it’s because we’re happy or young-"

matt stops you by placing his soft hand on your cheek leaning in. you immediately blush, watching his eyes soften. "i know. believe me i know." he chuckles, rubbing his thumb softly on your cheek. “and that’s exactly why i think owning a cat together will be perfect. he or she can stay here since you already practically live here. nothing between us will change just because we are owning something together."

you smile softly, leaning into his touch. "i love you." he whsipers, watching your eyes grow. "i know," you tease, failing to hide you smile. he shoves you slightly, watching you laugh against his touch. "i love you too."

"good. because if you didn’t that would be bad." he replies, kissing your cheeks.

your eye brows furrow, watching his smile grow. "whys that matthew?"

"because nick and chris texted saying the cats in the garage." matt smiles when your mouth falls open.

and if on command, nick and chris swing the bedroom door open, screaming and carrying a kitten.

"it’s a girl!"! nick screams, shooting matt’s bedroom door open, carrying a small kitten in his hands. "and her beautiful name is ivy! like the frank ocean song!"

your jaw is still hanging from your mouth when you look at the small cat, start crawling around on matt’s bed. you can’t even remember all the negative thoughts you had about owning a cat with matt. looking at the way his face lights up at the small kitten makes your heart flip.

"surprise!" matt smiles, swiping the kitten into his arms, holding her close to your face.

"matthew sturniolo." you whisper completely lost for words but extremely happy and excited. "i can’t believe you."
