Gui Gui in 2017 to Present

On January 20, 2017, Gui Gui appeared in the first episode of the second season of the Chinese online mystery variety show Who’s the Murderer? (明星大侦探, previously known as Crime Scene). She later appeared in episodes 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, and 12. In Episode 4, Gui Gui was the detective and was the first detective in Season 2 to successfully capture the murderer. In Episode 11, Gui Gui was the murderer and was the first murderer in the history of the show to not receive any votes.

On June 4, 2017, Gui Gui won the Hito Dance New Artist Award at the 2017 Hito Music Awards in Taiwan. She also performed her single “Sugar Rush” and a special dance routine, showing off a fierce and sexy side of herself. Watch her performance here.

On September 22, 2017, Gui Gui appeared on Episode 0 of the third season of Who’s the Murderer? and was paired with Bai Jingting to escape from a locked room. She later appeared in episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, and 13. In the special 13th episode of the show, Gui Gui received the award of Queen of Finding Evidence.

On November 9, 2017, Gui Gui released her single “Knock Knock Knock”, which is about wanting a potential lover to confess their feelings and to bravely face love, rather than staying silent. Gui Gui appeared in the music video for “My Girl” by Owodog 敖犬, released on December 4, 2017. Watch the music video here.

On February 21, 2017, Gui Gui was paired with Chinese actor Ma Ke on the Chinese online variety show He/She Who You Can’t Touch (触不到的TA). She served as his “talking cell phone” and gave Ma Ke funny missions to complete. From March 16 to April 27, 2017, Gui Gui was a regular cast member on the Chinese online variety show Fans! Fans! (饭饭男友), a show where each episode focuses on a different male celebrity and discusses dating and love.

Gui Gui returned to Taiwan to film the movie A Story Sadder Than Sadness (比悲伤更悲伤的故事), the Taiwanese adaptation of the Korean movie More than Blue, alongside Jasper Liu 刘以豪, Ivy Chen 陈意涵, and more. In the movie, Gui Gui portrays Cat Girl.

On February 3, 2018, Gui Gui was a guest on the Chinese variety show Happy Camp (快乐大本营) and appeared alongside Zhang Yixing 张艺兴 and trainees from his show Idol Producer (偶像练习生). Gui Gui previously said on social media that she had become a fan of Zhang Yixing and really wanted to meet him, so her wish was fulfilled on the show. She also performed a special version of her single “Knock Knock Knock” with trainees Wang Ziyi 王子异, Zhu Zhengting 朱正廷, and Lin Chaoze 林超泽. For two episodes starting on March 2, 2018, Gui Gui was a guest on the Chinese variety show Twenty Four Hours Season 3 (二十四小时3). From April 1 to April 22, 2018, Gui Gui served as a regular cast member with close friend Bruce Hung 禾浩辰 on the Chinese online travel show Best Friends’ Perfect Vacation (闺蜜的完美旅行) as they traveled around Australia. On April 14, 2018, Gui Gui was a guest on Happy Camp once again for a special “Love in Spring” themed episode alongside Tang Yixin 唐艺昕, Ian Wang 王彦霖, and more. On May 20, 2018, Gui Gui appeared as a guest on the variety show Three Babies vs. Zhu Geliang (三宝大战诸葛亮) for a special Chinese Valentine’s Day episode.

At the end of April 2018, it was officially revealed that Gui Gui will be managed under her own management company, Gemma Wu Studio (GWS).

Rumors had surfaced that Gui Gui was dating Bai Jingting and that she was cheating on him with Bruce Hung. Gui Gui refuted the rumors and told the press that she has been single all this time. (Author’s Note: Fans, you can like and support an onscreen pairing, but they are not a real couple unless they say so.)

On May 22, 2018, Gui Gui appeared as a guest at Andrew Tan’s birthday meet-and-greet in Taiwan.

Gui Gui revealed that she will be returning to filming dramas in June and that filming for her upcoming drama will take place in Taiwan. She also revealed that her male lead has a name made up of three characters, is younger than her, has not released an album or EP, and is a “little fresh meat.” Her short hair is also for her upcoming role.

On May 30, 2018, Silence Wang 汪苏泷 and Gui Gui’s song “Little Shooting Stars” (小流星) was officially released. The song is the ending theme to the Chinese web drama 200 Million Year Old Classmate (同学两亿岁). Listen to the song here and look at the lyrics and translation here.

This Friday, June 22, 2017, Gui Gui will make an appearance on the Chinese variety show Back to Field Season 2 (向往的生活2). She will be joining He Jiong 何炅, Huang Lei 黄磊, Henry Lau 刘宪华, and more to work and cook at a farm.

10 Strange and hilarious Facts About Mo Dao Zu Shi

This is posted on Moxiang Tongxiu (Mo Dao Zu Shi’s author)’s personal Weibo on 31/10/2017, in celebration of the novel’s second anniversary. Translated badly by tumblr user my-otp-list.

1. Fairy is actually a Husky. When I set up this character, I didn’t know that huskies were… not that intelligent, so now in my mind Fairy still has the look of a Husky. Let’s just think that Fairy is an extremely intelligent mutated Husky okay…

2. Lan Qiren has a beard from a young age. However, it was shaved clean by Zangse Sanren. He was so mad!

Later, the son of Zangse Sanren also shaved his beard… (but I did not write about it).

*For those who don’t know, Zangse Sanren is Wuxian’s mother.


3. When Jin Guangyao took in Lan Xichen during his runaway, Guangyao sort of became Xichen’s assistant.

Guangyao helped wash Xichen’s clothes, because Xichen himself did not know how to wash. It was not possible to ask others to wash, because it would be dangerous if the cloud patterns were recognised. Moreover the clothes could not be thrown away or burnt.

Jin Guangyao used to complain to Nie Mingjue that Lan Xichen’s arm was too strong that he tore apart his clothes while washing…


4. It was way too easy to make Xingchen laugh. Both Xueyang and Ah Qing knew about this but they would never tell Xingchen. Song Lan did not know about this, because the dude never ever laughed…


5. Jiang Cheng went to 3 blind dates. For various reasons, he got blacklisted by all the female cultivators.

Back then I even ranted on Weibo, “This uke is giving me so much headache; I don’t know what kind of seme I should give him!”

The seme has gone though many changes in personalities, appearances, ages, backgrounds, back stories… such a complicated process!

But in the end, a flash of Heaven’s light came right through me, I slammed the table and chose the very first version - “This is him!"

The tumblr search function will search the tags and captions of all new (i.e. not reblogged) posts that do not contain an external link. 

EXAMPLE: www.tumblr.com/search/perioddramaedit returns posts that mention perioddramaedit, either in the body of the post or in the tags

The tumblr /tagged/ function returns all the posts in a tag in reverse-chronological order. Popular tags on tumblr may have years worth of posts in them.

EXAMPLE: www.tumblr.com/tagged/perioddramaedit returns posts tagged perioddramaedit in the first 5 tags.

The first 5 tags!

The first 5 tags are your best bet! 

Only the first 5 tags show up in tracked tags. Tracked tags are more reliable than search if you want your content to be seen and / or reblogged.

Put the important tags (ex. show name, actor name, artist name) in the first 5 tags.

Only the first 20 tags show up in search.

Only the first 20 tags will cause the post to show up in the tag on your blog (i.e. asoiafuniversity.tumblr.com/tagged/resources)

So start with the important tags for tracked tags / search, then add tags like “my edits” or “mine” for your own blog organization, and then add FEELINGS and TAG COMMENTARY at the end.

Don’t tag your hate; it’s considered rude

If you use anti tags like #ANTI SHIPNAME, everyone who is searching for SHIPNAME will see your anti post. Don’t use SHIPNAME when creating your anti tag if you don’t want people to get upset about it. 

Don’t put something that isn’t an edit in an edit tag. People are going into the edit tag to look for edits and if your post isn’t an edit, it defeats the purpose of the edit tag. 

Don’t spam the tags. 

Reblog; don’t repost

The OP (original poster) will often read your tags when you reblog a post, so if you say something nasty in the tags, the OP will (probably) see it. Say something nice instead!
