My Top 10 favorite WEBTOONS:

1. Return of the Blossoming Blade

It’s an absolute must read. It’s incredibly funny and suspenseful. This Webtoon will keep you on the edge of your seat every episode.

2. Lore Olympus

This is one is a must read. If you haven’t read it, please do. It’s currently the number 1 Romance Webtoon right now.

3. Rewriting the Villianess

Another one that is funny. It gives a freaky Friday feel between author and main heroine.

4. Midnight Poppy Land

Main male lead is a gangster with a soft heart for an innocent girl. Did I also mention he’s drop dead gorgeous and is covered in tattoos?

5. Brass & Sass

High School Romance that is nostalgic and fun to read. It will definitely pull on your heart strings.

6. The Remarried Empress

This one takes you back in time during Imperial Rulers with a magical twist and lots of drama filled scandals.

7. Men of the Harem

Another story talking place back during Kings and Queens, but its funny, magical, and endearing. Main female lead is incredibly sharp.

8. Purple Hyacinth

Who doesn’t love a dark yet funny story about an assassin and a police officer whose a vigilante at night? Do they make a great team or is there something bigger than the both of them about to unfold? The truth of it all? Read it to find out.

9. Like Wind on a Dry Branch

Magic, kingdoms, a very handsome King, and his very beautiful mage whose past remains a slight mystery.

10. Let’s Play

A young woman trying to figure out her love life while attempting to set boundaries with her overbearing father. Who will she end up with? Her cute gamer streaming neighbor or her boss at work with a complicated past?

Edith

WARNING: SPOILERS

Hello everyone!!

Im back with new analysis. As you know and read, Edith just finished up. I’m very happy and sad at the same time. Edith was a very personal WEBTOON for me to read. I really connected with her character. I’ve been reading Edith since it debuted on WEBTOON.

At first glance I really did think that Edith was a romance WEBTOON but it’s really not. Yes, the story does include her navigating her relationship with Phillip, but I always read this story more from a young girl in her early 20s. Edith struggled with her own insecurities and independence as a person. I saw pieces of me in her. When we first met Edith her life was a bit rocky and she was insecure in her abilities as an author. Her relationship with Phillip didn’t start as a healthy one and she really didn’t think highly of herself at all. So as the story progresses you see her get out of her shell more and become less selfish.

She took more time to figure herself out as the story progresses. What really struck me was when she broke up with Phillip. She was very mature in the way she did it. Instead of yelling at him and asking him in rude tone why he lied about Taylor, she made her decision to not make a big deal of it. She took him for herself to reflect and chose to break things off with him not just from the lie he told her. Edith and Phillip were already rocky when he talked to her about moving to LA with him. Me personally, I would have done the same thing. If I had a boyfriend who wanted me to move with him to a completely different city where I have no friends and away from my job. Granted her job could be remote, but still. All her friends live in the same city she already lives in. She has a great apartment and is doing great for herself. I understand relationships come with sacrifice, but what if Phillip hadn’t continued being an actor. What if he went back to modeling? There was nothing set in stone job wise for Phillip. Plus him lying and saying to her over the phone that he doesn’t know who Taylor is. He could easily lie to her about anything else that could have happened in LA. Long distance relationships are hard enough, but there needs to be a sense of trust there for any relationship. He violated that trust. I thought Edith had a lot of courage to break up with him. It takes guts to break off a relationship. It’s not easy.

Reading that Edith got her hair cut after the break up was refreshing. I really liked that she didn’t jump into a relationship with Mitch and gave herself time to grief over her relationship with Phillip. I was even more proud of her for holding her boundaries clearly with Mitch and Phillip at the end of the story. Edith really grew into herself and I’m glad the author didn’t stick her with Jack or try to put her with another famous person. It was really nice that Mitch was just a hairdresser. Sure he worked with Town and helped them with models hair, but it was refreshing to see him being an average joe. Let me know what you guy think of the ending with Edith. It was the best possible ending and seeing Mags and Chris getting married at the end was the icing on the cake. They’re relationship took some hits throughout the story and I’m really glad. This webtoon is the most realistic and closest to what happens in real life. I liked that everything was raw and real. Thank you swansgarden for creating something so raw and real. I truly treasure Edith as a character. Edith is a huge part of me and she reminds me of myself in my early twenties.

Side note: did anyone else notice that she quit smoking as she was getting rid of her “bad habits”?

Devil Number 4

*Contains Spoilers*

This whole webtoon was a roller-coaster ride. I cried over this webtoon. Truly a masterpiece and my top favorite webtoons of all time. The connection between Number 4 and Hanna is really something. Finding out that Number 4 and Hanna knew each other in Hanna’s past life is something. They really had me in the ending. I didn’t think they were going to make it out alive together. The most stressful part was Number 4 being knocked out for a solid 10 years. I thought he had died for some reason or that God turned him into an Angel.

Peace and Sejoon (Number 3) as a couple is really cute. The whole thing with Peace and God was a very interesting story arc. I really enjoyed watching Peace give Number 3 a name as well. Peace telling Hanna about Angels (84). Peace is the first mutation that God created. Every Angel is a vessel of God. Angels are born with a part of God. Peace knew that she was different because she looked different from everyone else. God told her that her purpose was to soothe the feelings of God who became a human. She proceeded to cry about the fact that she killed God. Peace started living life with Yurim. Peace and Sejoon meet each other for the first time a little bit after Yurim dies. Later on, Peace soothes Number 3 feelings because all of his helpers were all killed by Angels. I believe that Peace comforting Number 3 was a turning point. Peace was created to soothe God’s feelings so in turn when Peace soothed Sejoon’s feelings and God showed up later to let Pease know that Love comes with a cost and that Peace will regret not dying. This showed that God was jealous that Peace was comforting someone that wasn’t God and that Peace willingly chose to be with Number 3 and not God. When Number 3 died, Peace waited years for Number 3 to reappear just so they could be together again.

Mika stabbing God caught me off guard. All I could think about was God has now been stabbed twice. Once by Peace and once by Mika. Mika was never punished for killing God just like Peace was also not punished for killing God. I thought Mika was going to turn into a Devil because they/them killed God. Then God talking to Hanna in her mind was really weird that God took on Hanna’s human body form. Hanna basically committing suicide in that episode really shook me to my core. Hanna really loves Number 4 so it was interesting to see God and Hanna talking about what God gives Hanna and that God loves her. But I don’t think God loves Hanna romantically. I think this is more of a parent who loves their child.

Number 2 used to be an angel really changed the game. When we finally met Devil Number 1 who is the Devil Master, Ruler of the Underworld, and the First Angel that God ever created(108). Number 1 changed into an older person was confusing for me when Number 2 was taken away to live in the Underworld and pay for her crimes.

Number 4 and his Angel form talking to each other and exploring Number 4′s subconscious and the memories of when he first met Hanna as an Angel. The Angel version of Number 4 told him about his mistakes and why he became a Devil in the first place. Number 4 reliving his past life before he became a Devil was really sad.

Number 1 (Devil Master) told Number 4 that the reason why Devils who are given lower numbers are different because they were Angels who abandoned their duty and are known as betrayers and atoners of God.

Joon-won Lee was actually my least favorite character and I know I’m probably going to get a lot of hate for it. I did like the backstory that he was Hanna’s ‘company’ in their previous life, but I just think that he kept inserting himself in Hanna’s life. I know he likes her, but what if Joon is suppose to like Hanna because that is what God willed him to do? I think that Joon should be able to make connections with other women that's not based on a previous life that not longer exists. I just think Joon should have had the freedom to be with someone who was going to reciprocate the same feelings back and be controlled by God. It’s not fair that Joon was used in this whole ordeal. I do believe that he deserved better and Hanna was never going to reciprocate feelings to Joon anyway. Hanna in the beginning of the story was emotionally closed off with other people. I didn’t think she was able to form romantic feelings in the first place, but she caught feelings for Number 4, probably the way God might have intended to happen.

Just heard that the Percy Jackson books will be made into a series on Disney+. Disney has one chance to not mess this up. The movies in my opinion were horrible. Didn’t completely follow the books. This series better follow the books and it better be casted correctly. I will riot and knit pick at every tiny detail that is wrong. I love the Percy Jackson Series with my whole heart. It would be sad to see them let me down yet again like the did with TROS.

Lore Olympus Episode 88: It’s all Fun and Games until Someone Loses an Eye (Part 2),(Part 3), & (Part 4)

Last episode we saw Hades and Persephone have a conversation about the guy who Hades punished for the article that defames Persephone. Hades took his eye and Persephone would like him to return the mans eye. Hades agrees to that and apologized to her about it.

Persephone also apologizes to him about flirting with him while he’s in a relationship with someone else. Hades confesses to her that he didn’t know if she liked him or if it was her being friendly and that he is relieved to hear that. Persephone then tells him that she is not respecting the relationship that Hades and Minthe have. Persephone confesses to Hades that she actually doesn’t care about Minthe’s feelings when she flirts with him. The guilt of her not caring is slowly eating her up.

Hades feels bad that she feels that she needs to apologize about it when he says that he didn’t stop it in the first place. You can see that he clearly cares for her so much and that she does matter to him way more than an employee.

They then set boundaries between each other and talk about the importance of being honest not only with each other, but with other parties involved.

Part 3

Hades finally asks the million dollar question. “Do you actually want to be a member of TGOEM?”

He tells her that this is not coming from a place of judgement, but curiosity.

Kore finally tells him the whole truth about it all. She ends with “it means Zeus can’t marry me off to sweeten a business deal.” I WAS HOWLING.

Hades tells her that Zeus has made questionable decisions as king.

Persephone and Hades have a small heart to heart here. Both explain how they don’t know what they’re doing is for them or because everyone else around them told them that it was.

They finally reached the hospital and were told that they were not allowed to see the paparazzi guy.

Kore convinces Hades to dress up in the hospital scrubs so they could sneak in. They finally find him. Hades tells Kore that she might wanna step out while he puts the eye back in. Kore, of course, curious as ever, decided to take a sneak peek...

Persephone sees Hades in form when he uses his power and feels a little flustered to say the least. Everything starts to flourish and grow around them. We see Hestia and she looks happy for a moment until she sees something that makes her worried.

Hades tells her that he’s all done putting the eye back to see Kore on the floor surrounded in various flowers and her hair a lot longer. Of course Kore just tells him that she’s just feeling a little warm. Hades offers to bring her home because “she doesn’t feel good”. BOYYYYY IF HE KNEW.

As they leave the hospital Kore discusses more boundaries that they should have. Kore finally mentions the time they should and should not text each other. Anything after a certain time is considered Romantic. They talk about more boundaries and Hades doesn’t really say much of anything. Of course they go their own separate ways and Hades starts kicking himself and runs back to Artemis’s house and knocks on the door. OF COURSE NONE OTHER THAN HESTIA OPENS THE DOOR.

Lore Olympus Episode 87: It’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye [Part 1]

THIS IS THE CHAPTER I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!!! FINALLY WE GET TO SEE PERSEPHONE AND HADES EATING ALONE TOGETHER AND SPEAKING RESPECTFULLY TO EACH OTHER LIKE ADULTS.

But before we get into lunch, I love seeing Hades scold Ares for using his powers on Kore for his use of entertainment which I get that wasn’t entirely the truth. Ares clearly not telling Hades that she had declared war means that Ares wants to know why still, but doesn’t want to blab about it. Ares doesn’t want to hurt Persephone in anyway, he wants to know why she is declaring war and what caused it. I think Ares has good intentions but he doesn’t go about it correctly.

Hades takes Kore to a secret place that he has when he needs somewhere to go and be the introvert that he is.

Persephone and Hades discuss the incident with the photographer. Persephone tells Hades that she feels like he did it more for him than her and that if he was going to do something that also involved her to talk to her about it first. Which is a reasonable thing to ask of someone. Persephone also tells him that she has been distancing herself from acts of wrath. Kore brings up a good point in the fact that Hades does have a bit more freedom than her to do what he wants in a way that she doesn’t.

THEY HOLD HANDS!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hades then tells her that he doesn’t want to hurt her which got my heart pumping so fast.

at the end we see a bubble with pink lettering that says that “I’m afraid I owe you an apology” WHICH IS A CRIMINAL ENDING TO SUCH A GREAT CHAPTER. TAKE MY DAMN MONEY WEBTOONS. I WANT ALL THE LORE OLYMPUS CONTENT FAM.

Lore Olympus Episode 86: A Fine Line

Now we continue to see a SHOOK Persephone face a very attractive Ares. As we can see, Ares is acting like the annoying older brother that we all love oh so much. His grin in this moment speaks his mischief. Persephone lying saying that shes not happy to see him is the funniest thing because that flower crown says something else sis.

BUT DID YOU SEE THE HEART BUBBLE SHAPED NOPE THAT ARES HAS??? I LOVE IT SO MUCH. *Squealing with pure joy*

*clears throat* Anyway, the mention of Demeter not being with Persephone in the Underworld has peaked Ares interest. Persephone low key threatens Ares to not tell her mother where she has been which makes me think that Persephone has something to hold against Ares. But you know what, Ares has been beaten with a pitchfork by Demeter, Hades drunkenly has showed up to Demeters home before and she has taken him to the Underworld before Persephone could see, but it was too late for that anyway, and Hermes and Persephone have hung out sneakily behind her mother back. Which has me thinking that Persephone has met a handful of men before entering Olympus. Just saying.....

But Ares telling her that she is the Angriest Goddess in the entire Pantheon besides his mother is something. Ares points out that his mother is always angry but that’s not interesting to him because before when he met Persephone, she was ‘plump with optimism’. He mentions to her that she’s so angry that it’s practically taking over her from the inside out. Ares could feel Persephone’s rage all the way from the Mortal Realm which to me seems really intense. Its screams to me that her anger is filled with passion behind it.

Then as Ares is trying to get an answer from Persephone about where is all the rage coming from, some random person rudely interrupts them. Ares took it upon himself to throw this person out the window. Now this goes back to when that guy took photos of Persephone and Hades while trespassing and wrote a shameful article on Persephone. Then, Aphrodite first mentions that Nymphs do not take gods from Goddesses and that it’s embarrass to see Minthe have Hades when Persephone wants him. Next, we saw Hera being upset that some Nymph is mocking her relationship with Zeus by sending her his nudes. So this seems to me like a trend that Nymphs and other beings are disrespecting the Gods. So Ares throwing the guy out the window was an act of wrath which he has clearance to do so as the God of War. But this does bring the attention of what is happening to make other creatures feel like their on the same level as the Gods and Goddesses? Yes it does sound a bit elitist but think about Gods and Goddesses of Olympus and the Underworld hold a lot of power. They are the ones in charge, so what has changed? What happened to where the Gods have lost respect within their ranks? I wanna know what is going on.

Now as the chapter continues, Ares continues with the questions of where her rage is coming from considering she declared war on Apollo. Persephone continues to ignore Ares’ questions until he says the one thing that makes her sweat.

“I could guess. I’m really good at guessing.”

Persephone continues to not want to talk about, but Ares is not going to let it go. Which yes is annoying, but Persephone needs to talk about it with a third party that is not in the middle of it all. She needs to talk about it with someone and let out the anger before it consumes her. Ares finally talks about the elephant in the room that she is the one who wants war. Persephone seems a little upset that he had heard her say it.

Ares confesses to her that he ‘has been looking into’ what she did because her name changed from Kore to Persephone. He wanted to see if she would tell him. Ares knows that something happened because her records are too clean which he points out to her. No one is that squeaky clean with a name that means “Bringer of Death”. He wants to her to confess what she did to get a name like that, but I think he saw what happened. I think Ares was there when it happened. He is the God of War and if her anger called to him all the way from the mortal realm when she declared war while she was on Olympus, imagine what her rage was like when she killed a bunch of innocent people. I believe Ares was there and that he saw everything what happened. I don’t Persephone’s mother knows that Ares knows what happened. For all we know, he doesn’t know what happen, but the way he talked about what was the changed that occurred for her name to be changed along with it tells me that he knows.

He asks her what has got her so worked up. Of course she says that it’s what happened with the paparazzi and Hades, but Ares knows that not the truth of it all. He lets it go and lets her tell him the whole thing on this. Ares interrupts her at the end and he tells her that if it was him, he would have just killed the guy for that. Ares then goes off and tells her what he thinks about the whole thing and feeds into her anger and frustrations. He’s the only other person besides Apollo that her wind up her anger so tight. The way he goes about it, isn’t the best but Persephone needs to be more comfortable with her rage.

Now they finally reach Hades and Persephone is loosing her shit in front of him and doesn’t even notice that he’s there. Hades soft face at the end after hearing that Persephone is upset with him breaks my heart a little bit. He just recently had Minthe hurt him because of her anger and toxic coping ways. You can see that Hades does not do well with people being angry or rageful around him due to his trauma.

Lore Olympus Episode 85: Between The Lines

Also known as the “dat a** episode”

Cerebus’s faces in this chapter is possibly the funniest expression I have seen on a dog. He looks so insulted when Hades tells him that “you’re really slowing us down.” If you haven’t seen it or missed it I recommend that you look at his cute face.

Then we see both of the receptionists at their desks admiring the boss man. Clearly everyone can see that Hades is one attractive man.

(self fanning because he’s so attractive)

Now we find out that it’s the third Monday of the month which means that everyone has an opportunity to talk to Hades for ten minutes at a time. People are already lined up and Hades does not want to be there and listen to everyone’s complaints.

Next the scene moves to Persephone in class where her classmates don’t have any trouble talking smack about the Goddess behind her back where she can hear. Personally, in this situation would have lost it when they said “i know there was a reason why she was called Persephone.” My inner Queen of Wrath would have been awake as hell, but Persephone handles it better than I would have. her texting Hades that she needs to talk to him was the best thing to do in that situation. Then when she runs to the underworld to go and talk to Hades, she gets told by this guy that she needs to wait in line like everyone else. Not to sound elitist, but Persephone is the Goddess of Spring and this guy is treating her like she’s just some regular person.

Then we see what happens to Persephone which isn’t the best thing ever. Now cue my favorite character of all time, Ares. The God of War has arrived and never have I ever been so excited to see him interact with Persephone. Ares feeds off of Persephone’s rage and I am living for it. He tells her why she really is upset and he nailed it on the head. In this moment, I relate to Ares so much. He is encouraging her to let herself be upset and consumed with her anger that she has been bottling up.

Persephone needs to be more comfortable with her angry part of her otherwise it will start to eat at her. It is not healthy to bottle any emotion or emotions inside. You will explode from the inside out like a grenade. Like Eros once mentioned to Persephone, it is okay to ask for help and that you should definitely see a therapist.
