70 and 71/100 days of productivity

Those two days of productivity concern last Tuesday (April 9th) and yesterday (Friday April 12th). I didn't go to class on tuesday cus I didn't sleep well, had a insomnia episode. But once I woke up, at around 1 pm, I started working a lot. Watched many videos on Frege, Russell and Mill's theories of names. I have a test in a couple of weeks, and since I didn't go to Semantics class twice, I thought I should study a bit on my own to catch up. Ended up understanding the theories pretty well!!!!

On friday I spent most of my day cleaning my room and organizing my shelves, books, stuff etc. My room looks so much cleaner now, as in organized. No longer a chaos lol. I also did a bunch of due house chores. I ended up taking too long of a snooze and missed my dance classes in the evening tho... But I used the rest of the evening to study even more Semantics and a lil bit of german.

I also finished reading that book that i picked up again last week. It was the Tyranny of Merit by Michael J. Sandel. He talks about so much important stuff on politics, only about the USA tho, but still, very relevant for other western societies as well. He also seems like such a good professor, I watched a few of his Harvard classes on Justice on youtube during the pandemic, before reading his book.

Every night, before bed, I read a bit of Dune too. It is starting to get more and more interesting. I watched part two of the movie last weekend with my bf and i liked it much more than the first movie.

Now I have started a little essay on Philosophy, Religion and Science by Russell on my kindle that I'll most likely finish by tomorrow or Monday.

67, 68 and 69/100 days of productivity

Added two days of productivituy that happened last week but i forgot to post about them. Had lots of ideas for my thesis, red some of Aristotle's Rhetoric and other articles about the topic, did many house chores and studied the content from classes.

Also, I am now a volunteer in a public school and started giving english classes! We started last week, and today was our second day. It went great! It's a great opportunity for me and for the students to share knowledge and passion for language and other topics.

On my way to the school, I finished reading Byu-Chul Han's Burnout Society. It was a good read, but I wish he explored solutions or at least more grounded problems irl, instead of sticking to the philisophical view of that burnout. Maybe he explored those other things in his other books? I'll download them on my kindle to see.

After lunch, I pulled up this book in my kindle that i had started reading in 2022 i think and never finished it. I read a chapter of it, I am currently 80% in already. Will finally finish reading it, tho it took almost two years.

Classes were interesting, and after those my day was complete :)

Once when I was at my second year at my university, I was sitting at mathematical analysis lecture and the professor addressed us (just students) calling us colleagues. It wasn’t the first time he calls us like that, but then he decided to explain.

He said that we all studying maths, physics or programming, in general, technical sciences. And he said that it doesn't matter what stage of education we are at, and whether we will connect our lives with research, work in the industry or change our specialty, because now we are all (students and professors) studying technical sciences, and he recognizes our importance.

And honestly, I've never heard anything more motivating in my life. Because when your teacher addresses you as an equal... it's amazing. I don't know how else to put it into words

Monday was a very productive day. I woke up naturally before 8am and started doing my chores. Put clothes in the washing machine, cleaned the dishes, had breakfast. Then, I started working. I was able to:

Finish the translation and send it to my professor

Read a 12 pages article on Aristotle's Rhetoric for Tuesday's class

Decide the theme for my thesis

Started reading the Burnout Society by Byu-Chul Han

read a couple of chapters of Dune before bed

Also had class in the afternoon, which was quite nice. Metaphysics is not my area but it surely is interesting!

This week will be very busy, with an event in my university I'm helping to organize.

Classes are back! It's the second week of classes now, and i had already a bunch of things to do.

Topics on Metaphysics

My professor and advisor wants me to translate a book, but he needs to see if I'm a good translator so he asked me to translate 3 chapters of the book. I spent my free time in the last three days doing that, and it's ALMOST done. I'll be able to finish it tomorrow, I believe.

I also started reading "Naming and Necessity" by Kripke for my Semantics class. Really interesting stuff concerning language. For the Rethoric class, I have yet to start reading Aristotle's masterpiece. When I took my book (that i got at a second hand bookstore) to read, i opened it and the pages started to detach from the book ;u; so maybe it's better if I read the book in pdf lol

When it comes to reading as a hobby, I finished The Song of Achilles. It was devastating! 5 stars for it!!! This week I started to read Dune, the first volume, because my boyfriend loves it. I had watched the movie with Chalamey when it came out but didn't really get the vibe, even tho I like sci-fi. But I'm giving the book a chance ofc!

This year I also have to write my thesis... I'm still deciding which topic I'm going to work on, but I'm a little nervous... it seems like such a big step!

(Late) happy new year! and (late) happy holidays! I've been in vacations for almost a month and a half now. That's one of the reasons I haven't been active, the other one being I forgot my tumblr password a while ago and it took me some time to move my ass and change it.

Last post was in november!!!! so long!!!! Anyways, know that I had a wonderful semester, my grades were super high (my average grade was 9,9/10!!!) and, most importantly (academically speaking), I learned a lot. I gave another lecture in december and people showed a lot of interest! Got so many questions and it pushed me to pursue the topic I was researching on and gave a lecture on.

I am currently in Europe for my vacations. Today, however, I attended a class with a friend of mine who is doing his Master's degree in Philosophy! Yes, in a different country! I got to experience what it's like to be a student here where he lives. After class we had lunch and went to the library together to study! Here's what I did in those three hours at the university library:

Read around 30 pages of a book i got in a second hand market. It's Todorov and Ducrot's "Dictionnaire Encyclopédique des Sciences du Langage"

Procedeed to read the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy's entry on Philosophy of Humor as an introduction to this area that interests me

Made lots of notes on my new Muji notebook

Last Wednesday I went to my bf's house since he had to study and didn't have time to go out, and I brought my uni stuff to study with him. We were very productive!

I studied for my Metaphysics II test (although today the professor told us that instead of giving a test, he'll be expecting us to write a simple paper and hand him next week)

also studied for Religion test

finished reading Sapiens by Yuval Harari

wrote two pages about Heidegger's "Die Frage Nach der Tecnik" for Contemporary Philosophy

Then, yesterday (monday) I went to class, went grocery shopping, did household chores, academic paperwork (validating certificates etc) and cooked myself a healthy meal. As for academic work, I:

Yesterday I only had one lecture in the morning so I spent the rest of the day at home after that class. I did work, tho:

I haven't been here in a while!! I got a new phone and had forgotten my tumblr password, but i finally got it back, so here I am!!

Academically, nothing has changed much. At the same time my midterms were over, I started dating a guy, so I kinda forgot ab everything else lol The period after midterms is always chill cus there's not much studying to do. But now the pace is starting to get me back to reality, so these next few weeks I'll have a bunch of studying to do.

I counted two days of productivity only for this period of time I haven't been active on tumblr bc I also haven't been academically active lol. But I did everything I needed to do for school. Also, my grades were all excellent! Three 10/10's and two 9,5/10's. Hopefully I'll keep those grades high for finals too!

Overall, I'm very happy with my life. Only one more year of university! (before my Masters obviously)
