It really took me watching the Orion Pax arc and then the first episodes of tfp back to back for me to realize part of the reason that Optimus gave Jack the key to Vector Sigma is because Jack reminds him of himself.

Like Jack and Orion Pax's arcs are literally parallels and it was specifically these lines that made it click for me ↓ (from Orion Pax part 2 and Darkness Rising part 5)

Despite them being unsure of themselves they both consistently step up to responsibility and become more confident as they go!?

They even both make a journey to get the damn matrix. Sure it was under different circumstances but STILL
