I don’t speak for everyone who uses it/it’s pronouns, only for myself and one observation I would like to make is people are quick to jump to “I can’t call you that it’s dehumanizing”

Have you considered, for at least some of us, THAT IS THE POINT??? LIKE??

When I introduce myself I say “hi I’m Sol, my pronouns are it/it’s like the sun, and she/her like a boat or a ship”

I’m trans and otherkin and my identity is constantly in flux and like, even as a self identified trans woman I don’t use she/her as an identifier for womanhood, I’m like a fucking Sloop. A battleship, A STARSHIP, a VESSEL. I’m a lot of things and I’m a girl but I’m not a girl in the way that humans are and can be girls I’m a girl in the way that cars are and ships, machines, boats. I’m an it in the way the sun is, the stars, planets and galaxies. I am vast and infinite.

And you know what?! Another thing! I hate being called they. I never EVER want to be referred to as they. That shit is traumatic. In the early days of my transition, people who didn’t think I could be she but didn’t want to be quote unquote rude would misgender me with they. Family, friends, people I respected? Would refuse to refer to me as she her, as a woman, because I looked too manly, or I hadn’t gotten bottom surgery yet (yes really) or I was too tall, or I was born with a dick but I had clearly started to grow tits so I couldn’t be he, oh no, those people couldn’t just misgender the way that outright bigots would, no those fuckers would stop half way and call me they and them because in their eyes I was other. I hadn’t earned my she/her pronouns, but they didn’t want to be accused of being transphobic around their liberal friends so… and I used to cry about that shit. I cried so fucking much about that shit. Stop fucking misgendering people with pronouns you don’t approve of, if a person wants to be called it or it’s, it costs you nothing to take a moment to modify your language, you don’t have to die on that weird hill. And you will lose friends. Family. I don’t talk to any of those fuckers who called me they. They aren’t my friends or my family anymore.

Just fucking respect people. It costs you nothing to respect people. It/it’s pronoun Havers are fucking valid and real and whatever it’s reason for wanting to be called that, call it that. It’s not fucking hard, and it doesn’t owe you any fucking explanation why.

Fucking respect it’s pronouns.
