Hunter has to be careful who sees his magic. It's one thing for a druid to turn into a bear, but Hunter can turn into just about anything including other humanoid races such as an orc or Tiefling, which is a type of magic people are so afraid of they'll put to death users of this magic without question.

The reason people are so afraid of this magic is because it's the magic of a dark cult, corrupted druids who lost their way and worshipped a false goddess who demanded sacrifices.

There was a period on time where people would be found in the forests hanging from trees in pieces like morbid Christmas decorations. People whom had been sacrificed to the dark "goddess" by the cult, with more people going missing each day not only from the wilds, but from their villages which indicated the culprits walked among them.

There were special members from these cults though who called themselves the mouthpiece of their goddess, and these particular individuals were blessed with a magic which would allow them to transform into other animals and humanoids and comprehend and speak in other languages in order to spread the word of their goddess or speak messages on their behalf, but the cult would only have one mouthpiece at a time, the person having been chosen as an infant and raised into the position.

So it turns out Hunter's mother was a member of said cult and herself had taken Hunter to the ritual as an infant intending for him to become the next mouthpiece... Except there was one little problem. His father was NOT a cultist, and when he found out what sort of "druid" his wife was he divorced her and took custody of the child, meaning Hunter was never raised with any knowledge of the cult and so never fulfilled the purpose his mother had for him. However he did acquire the magic from the ritual and later in life when he was of age he found out accidentally (much to his shock) that he possessed such magic and went to the Tiefling Kyron for help.

It was Kyron who figured out what this magic was and urged Hunter to keep it secret from everyone less he risk anyone mistaking him for a cultist and putting him down.

Hunter himself however uses the magic responsibly and never for any dark purpose.

Hunter thinking to himself while hammering in his forge:

"Fae are hurt by iron, which is why I have that sign at the door and the offerings outside to keep them safe and satisfied... But wait! Elves are regarded as fae, and I'm in here hammering at a red hot horse shoe! So why does this not hurt me?"

Hunter looks down at his tough safety gloves and has a revelation

"OH MY GODDESS!!! FAE GET HURT BY IRON BECAUSE THEY DON'T USE SAFETY EQUIPMENT WHEN IT'S RED HOT! SOMEONE NEEDS TO TEACH THEM HOW TO BLACKSMITH SAFELY!"

Elves can't wear ear muffs for the obvious reason their ears are too long and aren't fully covered by the muff.

But I can't not smile at the idea of ear socks for cold weather instead.

Hunter is casually leading a fully grown kobold carrying a corn dog around the market like a little kid.

The kobold is enjoying the attention and free food, and all he's got to do is go along with the elf trying to adopt him and keep quiet about the fact he's actually fully grown.

Nobody said Hunter was smart! The dude hasn't had much experience with kobolds and doesn't know what size they are when fully grown.

I made a Kobold on impulse >.> No campaign, not even a class for him... only Kobold. I had an intrusive thought of "LOL! imagine if Hunter adopted a fully grown Kobold and treated it like a kid cause it was small, and the Kobold just went along with it because it gets fed" and my friend was a bad influence on me and actually got me drawing the little guy XD

Just to add, Bones would TOTALLY wear little outfits like jackets, sweaters, shirts and so on.

He wouldn't be in em all the time, but he might dress for particular holidays, special occasions or events.

Right now he'd be wearing a little sweater for Yule.

Given Bones a small revamp. I decided he's closer looking to an oriental longhair given he was an elf previously before he was a cat.

I love the long ears and noble looking faces on this breed and thought it just fit better with his elf true form :)

I need to tidy this up and try fix the shape of the face a little bit to fit the longer face the breed has.

I can imagine Hunter trying to shapeshift into a horse but the best he can manage is a chubby little mule due to him being a hybrid himself of 2 different elf types.

It gets better when he tries shifting into a unicorn! Take that same mule except put a weak excuse for a horn on it!

He is in no way majestic or graceful :'D

Hunter getting confused this time of year when humans start asking him what Santa's like and if he's one of Santa's helpers, except he's not that kind of elf and has no idea what they're on about or who Santa is.

He's just like "I don't know who this Santa is but I'm a blacksmith. I wouldn't give the things I make to a kid to play with" o.o;

What ever form Hunter shapeshifts into his colours and markings will always be more or less the same. There's occasionally a little difference, but it's usually always recognisable as Hunter. The only exceptions to this rule are creatures which are only one colour like ravens. He's usually always got his beard in some form too, even if it's only a black patch of colour on his chin. And he can't escape from being a little on the chubby side either. .:: Images under cut ::.
