unsung benefit i think a lot of ppl are sleeping on with using the public library is that i think its a great replacement for the dopamine hit some ppl get from online shopping. it kind of fills that niche of reserving something that you then get to anticipate the arrival of and enjoy when it arrives, but without like, the waste and the money.

Fans' attitudes toward AI-generated works

Irina Cisternino, a PhD candidate of Stony Brooke University, is writing their research on topics related to technology, art and fandom. You can participate by filling out a survey and additionally, signing up for an interview. The survey is expected to last until at least the end of April, those, who signed up for the interview, will be contacted later. You need to be at least 18 years old to participate in either, be able to understand and speak English and identify as a fan.

new dice set is up in the shop! Hazy for Blue, a set of sharp edged mini dice, is mostly transparent with silver glitter and a subtle blue haze inside each die. The numbers are painted a bolder blue.

Due to limitations of my camera, plus the fact that these dice are transparent and therefore look wildly different depending on lighting and environment, colours may vary in real life from what's displayed on the monitor! I've tried to take a variety of photos to give a good impression.

Between the people who will need to leave Gaza to get medical care due to a lack of functioning hospitals to people who will be homeless as entire neighbourhoods are destroyed, it's hard to fathom the significant toll that will still be impactful for years to come. Never mind the trauma children will continue to have or even Palestinians who can never do what they love again due to becoming disabled... I just cannot stop thinking about it.

*anecdote: I borrowed my brother's Japanese Pimsleur CD as a kid and I still remember how to say the weather is nice over a decade later. You can find the CDs at libraries and "other" places I'm sure.
