So if Avengers: Secret Wars will be the destruction of Earth-616, then as our remaining heroes arrive in the new universe, they better be greeted by a familiar face -
“Welcome,” Tony Stark says. “Took you long enough.”
Or: the avengers from that universe start attacking the newly arrived 616 heroes, thinking they’re a threat, until a music grows, AC/DC’s Shoot to Thrill, and everyone looks up and it’s Iron Man, and RDJ’s voice goes “hey guys, did you miss me?” (As a parallel to his appearance in Avengers 1 during the Loki/Cap fight because I’m a sucker for parallels and because YES Tony, we missed you) and he blasts a shot that paralyses all the 616 heroes, and new universe Reed Richards (yes I don’t care, he’s here somehow) goes “We could’ve used that ten minutes ago. Where have you been?”
Just imagine, in DD: Born Again when Matt and Frank share a scene, it’s always as Daredevil and the Punisher. And so, Matt calls Frank by his name because he knows it, but Frank still doesn’t know Matt so he keeps calling him Red.
Like, “come on, Red! This way, Red. Red, come and ‘see’ this!” until during a fight where Matt gets hurt and Frank has to help him and he’s like “Jesus Christ, you had to do this Red, right? Come on, get up. Get up, Red. I got you. Come on, Matty.” and it comes as a whisper, because he realises how serious it is, now, how badly Matt’s injured, and he’s known for a while who Red in fact is, but it never mattered until now - because Frank can’t act like he doesn’t care about him when he’s looking like he might not survive. He knows this guy and he’s not just yet another random street superhero.
Fisk runs for mayor, is doing well enough in the polls. Nelson, Murdock and Page come at him all lawyer like with facts, expose him again to the public.
Fisk counterattacks, reveals Matt’s identity.
Matt needs to hide and some seemingly random guy comes and helps him, covers for him. At the news agency he works in, he debunks the stories.
“Why are you helping me?” Matt asks.
“Because you once did the same for me,” the guy replies.
Matt Murdock to Wilson Fisk (Netflix’ Daredevil, season 3: “You will go back to prison, and you will live the rest of your miserable life in a cage, knowing you’ll never have Vanessa, that this city rejected you”
Wilson Fisk in Daredevil: Born Again (Disney+): has been free for years, probably is the new mayor of NYC (so endorsed by the city that was supposed to reject him)
I hate that the Echo trailers have made me get my hopes up for Daredevil, but I can’t help the feeling and I had missed feeling this excited for a show/character for such a long time 😭 I hope this isn’t all gonna go down in disappointment
“I found out I was in love with you, winter before last,” she said. “I wasn’t going to say anything about it because - well, you know. If you felt anything like that for me, you’d have known I did. But it wasn’t both of us. So there was no good in it. But then, when you told us you’re leaving… At first I thought, all the more reason to say nothing. But then I thought, that wouldn’t be fair. To me, partly. Love has a right to be spoken. And you have a right to know that somebody loves you. That somebody has loved you, could love you. We all need to know that. Maybe it’s what we need most.”
