In Sickness and Sadism
Not fluff, not angst, but a secret third thing... (it's Feitan from HxH, what can I say)
Feitan Portor x gn!reader with chronic illness
You can't afford your medicine. Feitan won't accept that!
Warnings: cussing, breaking of human bones, mentions of other violence (not toward reader)
"What do you mean the price went up that much?"
You were incredulous. You had been frequenting the same pharmacy in your home town since you could remember and the price for medicine had always been consistent. That's what you liked about shopping there--the owner didn't price gouge like they did in every other store. Now, you didn't know what to do. You needed to buy the damn medicine or else you would be miserable, or probably even dead. It already wasn't easy having to deal with a chronic illness and now you had to face the fact that you definitely didn't have enough money to buy something you needed to live.
"That's just how much it is now, don't cry to me about it," sneered the cashier and you felt your anger bubble up at his lack of empathy. Your life was terribly unfair and you wanted to scream, cry, and punch the smirk off the cashier in that order.
"Please, can I talk to Mr. Greck, the owner, about this? I've been coming here for years, maybe he can get me a discount," you pleaded, but the cashier just laughed at you.
"The owner has a job from which he needs to make money. Not that you would know what it's like to have money in the first place. So no, you can't waste his time begging like the poor person you are. Now get out or I'll throw you out."
You glared at him, hoping he was bluffing, but he seemed the type to follow through with hurting someone like you and you knew your body couldn't take the exhaustion, especially if you were going to be off your medicine for a while. You needed to make sure you were in good condition to work every day of the week, plus overtime, to make enough to buy your month's supply. Feeling defeated and upset, you left the building, tears falling freely.
Feitan prided himself on his distinct lack of empathy. He relished in the fact that the pain of others makes him feel warm inside. There was no better symphony of sounds than people crying and screaming for their pain to stop.
So why the fuck was he finding himself so outraged at some random person's medical predicament?
The raven haired man had stopped in to a local pharmacy to pick up (ahem... steal) some supplies for the Troupe in case anyone managed to get hurt on the latest mission. He wasn't paying attention to his surroundings for the first few minutes of his shopping spree, completely uncaring to someone else's woes of the fragility of the human body. All of a sudden, after stuffing the last roll of gauze in his sleeve, his ears perked up to listen in to the conversation happening at the front register.
"What do you mean the price went up that much?"
His eyebrows furrowed. Not that he cared, because he wasn't paying for any of his things anyway, but he did notice that the price tags here for items displayed significantly lower numbers than previous pharmacies he had visited in other areas around. You had affirmed his findings in your conversation with the cashier and Feitan felt his blood boiling at the brash rudeness coming from the cashier's mouth. Who did that scum think he was, speaking like that to someone for no reason? Feitan certainly wasn't the nicest guy around but even he had the decency to not be a total jerk to random strangers, let alone people in distress about their medical and financial woes. He didn't know why he was giving this ordeal the time of day. Maybe it was because of his upbringing? He saw this type of thing daily in Meteor City. Hell, he lived it himself. There was nothing scarier than seeing a totally healthy person decay rapidly and shrivel into nothingness, all because they were born in unfortunate circumstances. He scoffed when he saw you leaving in tears. Why didn't you just use your brain and brawn and steal it? Were you too weak? He saw your fists clenching earlier and figured you were strong enough to take down that slime ball. If you did end up getting your ass kicked, at least you didn't lie down like a dog and take it, like you were doing now. His eyes followed your frame until you left the building and he watched until your silhouette was no longer visible outside. He didn't know why he was doing this. He wasn't supposed to make a big scene whenever he was out and about, but the events were already set into motion before he could stop himself.
"5 month supply of whatever that person needed." Feitan ordered, pointing to the boxes behind the cashier's head.
The cashier just laughed at him. "You too, huh? What are you, their boyfriend or somethin'? Maybe their kid? Scrawny little thing."
Oh, he'll wish he never had a tongue to speak those words.
Feitan kept his cool, procuring a velvet bag from his person and set it on the counter with a clank emitting from the contents of inside. "I have money."
The cashier's mouth opened in a greedy smile. He quickly retrieved the 5 month supply Feitan requested and put it in a bag.
"That'll be 100,000 Jenny."
Feitan smirked under his cowl. He reached into the bag, seemingly to pull out money, but instead of coins, the cashier's outstretched hand was met with a mini hammer. The sickening crunch of bones could be heard as the man howled in pain.
"Oh? Big man can't handle small hammer?" Feitan taunted, his eyes crinkled in delight at the man's suffering. The cashier tried to reach for a gun he had stashed behind the counter but Feitan was much too fast, grabbing his wrist and turning his arm the wrong way so that, too, was broken. The cashier couldn't get a word out, instead crying out with tears running down his face.
"Don't cry to me about it." Feitan mocked the worker by using his own words against him. The shorter man hummed a bit, thinking of what to do next. He needed to finish up quickly or else he'd lose track of you and end up having done this all for nothing.
Well, this wasn't all for nothing either way. He needs to make sure he practices his methods often so he doesn't lose his edge.
Feitan grabbed the bag containing the medicine and cleaned up his own bag of tools while the cashier was lying on the floor, writhing in pain and ready to pass out. He gave him a strong kick before turning toward the door.
"Good luck getting all that fixed at a hospital. If you can afford it."
You were walking down the street, dejected and unsure of what to do when you felt a nauseating presence appear behind you. You turned around to face a short man with a skull face covering offering you a bag. Naturally, you were hesitant to take it, but he nudged it to you again.
"Medicine. For you."
Your eyes widened in surprise. Did you hear the soft spoken man correctly? You tore open the bag and saw multitudes of your medicine within.
"5 months. Go get better job or learn to steal."
You went to thank him but he was already gone, disappearing like a ghost. You were thoroughly confused but at the same time, extremely grateful. You stood on the street corner in a daze until the sound of screaming could be heard somewhere close to you.
"Someone please help! This cashier's been seriously injured!"
You whipped around to see a woman running out from... the pharmacy? What exactly had that man done to get you what you needed? You were ready to run away from the scene so you weren't questioned as a suspect when you caught a glimpse of your savior once more, watching you like a hawk from the rooftop of the building next to you. He put his finger to where his lips resided under his mask, a signal to stay quiet about what happened, as he let out a short maniacal laugh and disappeared from your sight.
Feitan finally realized why he decided to help you that one day. There were many people in this world he'd gladly see rot to death and then rot even further after that.
But not you.
No, you were much too attractive to be a corpse so soon.

Cold Hands, Warm Heart
Fluff
Rengoku Kyojuro x gn!reader
Reader has cold hands… do you think the Flame Hashira would stand for such an injustice?!
You sighed for what felt like the millionth time that day, focusing your energy on hanging up the laundry in front of you. Your job as an assistant to Shinobu at the Butterfly Mansion was keeping you on your feet, busy as ever, but you still couldn't warm up. By all accounts, your hands shouldn't be as ice cold as they were since it was a mild spring day, but you had always had this problem so it just became a constant in your life. You tugged on your uniform sleeve in hopes of it reaching over your hands a bit more, but you found no relief in the thin fabric. Irritated, you finished your work and decided to stay outside for a short break, hoping that basking in the sun would help thaw your freezing appendages. Looking around to see you were completely alone, you raised your palms toward the sky in an attempt to speed up the warming process. If anyone were to see you right now, they would most certainly brand you a fool. You relished the tepid air flowing around you, closing your eyes to allow for maximum relaxation-
"Y/N! HOW ARE YOU TODAY?"
Your eyes shot open as you yelped in surprise. The Flame Hashira had snuck up on you and practically given you a heart attack. If he took notice of your flustered state, he was too kind to mention it, instead beaming at you with a kind smile.
"Rengoku! You took me by surprise, I didn't hear you behind me. I'm doing alright, thank you. How about yourself?" You wanted him to take over the conversation for a moment so you could calm your breathing, your heart still racing from his unexpected arrival.
"I am doing well! I just came back from a mission and came here in search of something to ease my sore muscles." His usually unwavering gaze faltered a bit, looking to the grass you stood on for the shortest moment before landing on you once more. "I also wanted to see you."
It was a shock that you were cold before because now it felt like your whole body was on fire after hearing Rengoku's words. Was he just being friendly? Or did he hold some sort of romantic feelings toward you? You would be content either way but truly wished it was the latter. You had a crush on the man for many months now but were too shy to make your affections known, too afraid of losing your close bond of friendship.
"That's very kind of you. Is there something in particular you wanted to see me for?"
Rengoku took a step toward you, shortening the gap between you but not enough to invade your personal space. "No. I just enjoy your company very much. I would like to spend some time with you before I have to leave for another mission. That is, if you'll allow me to take up your time, of course."
You couldn't believe your ears. This handsome man desired to get to know you better? You were beyond flattered and definitely weren't going to turn him down.
"You are the most pleasant company I could ask for, Rengoku. Please, take a seat on this bench with me and rest for a bit." He followed your lead and sat next to you, your legs touching ever so slightly.
He was the first to break the comfortable silence that had fallen between you. "May I ask what you were doing when I first joined you? It looked like you were worshipping the sun. If so, I would like to learn about this custom and partake in it myself!"
You couldn't hold in the laugh that escaped your lips. "Oh, no, no. It wasn't anything like that. My hands were extremely cold so I thought that the closer to the sun they were, the warmer they would get." He nodded in understanding like it was the most normal thing on earth for a person to reach for the sky like a desperate flower. You were glad Rengoku was the one to find you in such a silly position because he was never one to judge people for things like that. He approached most situations with an open mind and willingness to learn, traits which you found admirable.
"Have they found their warmth?"
You shook your head and he gestured his own hands toward yours. "May I?"
You tentatively brought your hands in front of you and Rengoku, with the lightest amount of force possible, scooped them into his grip. You were immediately met with a cozy feeling emanating from his skin, heat finally entering your body. Rengoku's touch was astonishingly gentle for a man of his stature and status as one of the best demon slayers. Though you knew of his benevolent disposition, it wasn't your first thought that the hands of someone who's seen such horrendous things and taken so many lives (all justified, of course) could be this soothing, or... loving, almost. As he held your hands, the look on his face could be described as nothing less than full of serenity, like you two were lovers reuniting and expressing your fondness for each other. Slowly but surely the icy chill dissipated from your fingers but the feelings that were left behind in its wake were harder to figure out. Actually, maybe it wasn't so difficult after all. You had never seen Rengoku treat anyone like this before. Sure, he was overly friendly to his allies, but he never initiated physical touch like this. Besides the fact, he could clearly tell your hands had warmed up and yet was still holding on like you were a floating piece of driftwood and he was drowning in a stormy sea. You were reluctant to let go, too. You had never felt so safe, so protected, in your entire life and it didn't have to do with the fact that he was a Hashira.
"Y/N, would it be alright if I confess something to you?" Rengoku asked, his red and yellow eyes glinting in the sunlight and making your heart skip a beat.
"You can tell me anything," you replied earnestly.
He took in a steadying breath before starting. "Over the years we have known each other, you have been a wonderful friend. You're reliable, smart, and kind hearted. However, lately I find myself thinking of you in different terms. I take notice of how your eyes sparkle like stars when any source of light touches them. I envy the rain as it falls upon your soft skin. Even now, as we are surrounded by nature's most beautiful work, this scene pales in comparison to you. You have bewitched me, ensnared my soul. Would you grant me the great honor of being your partner?"
"Oh Kyojuro," you said, softly smiling, "How I've waited for the day to hear those words come tumbling from your lips. You are the sun to my moon and the only man to have ever captured my heart. It will be a privilege to be loved by you."
You felt his hands squeeze around yours a little tighter in reassurance as you exchanged lovesick grins. You hated your cold hands for many years but now, with the Flame Hashira by your side as a personal heater, you would never have to worry about it again.

Hi 👋
Can u write Yuta, Gojo, Kokichi, and Noritoshi (the student) with a fem s/o who's very calm, quiet, and scary in public bcz of their scars and muscular body but when they are alone she's very sweet and shy :)
Make it fluff, and it's up to you if u wanna make it headcanons or whatever :)
Tumblr media
Sypnosis - How would these boys fare with an S/O who doesn't look the most approachable at times?
Includes - Yuuta Okkotsu, Satoru Gojo, Kokichi Muta, Noritoshi Kamo
Warning(s) - none besides mention of scarring on Reader
! PIECE BEGINS UNDERNEATH THE CUT !
Tumblr media
You were not exactly known to have a friendly face or an approachable person – avoided by many in most social settings thanks to the deep furrow of your brow and the frown that curls the corners of your mouth downward. Though you could be doing something as simple as thinking about what to prepare for dinner that night, your exterior displayed a deep anger for any and all that surrounded you.
You had built up walls that were borderline impenetrable … that is … until he steps into your life.
Tumblr media
YUUTA OKKOTSU
Like many, at first, Yuuta was intimidated by you. You carried yourself in such a way that made it seem as if you were uninterested in everyone around you – which included him when he first transferred to Jujutsu Tech.
Even Gojo seemed hesitant to introduce you, gesturing to you quickly with a wave of his hand before doing his absolute best to change the subject without it being noticed by you, Yuuta, or any of the other second-years.
One of the first things that Yuuta notices about you is the thin scars that line your arms, little stories of the missions that you had been on and reminders of the curses that you had defeated.
In truth, your appearance only adds to the mysterious, intimidating persona that you seemed to have adopted — one that deeply scared others and continuously drove them away from you.
Initially, it seems like the only person that you tolerate is Maki, considering that she’s the only one that you show a sliver of emotion to. She’s the only one that you offer a soft smile to, the only one that you regard without that sharpened ice in your voice, the only one that you really showed that you were … well … human.
The other second-years had your favor as well; Yuuta quite enjoyed watching you train with Panda or playfully argue with Inumaki. He just wished that he had the courage to do what they did — which essentially was just talking to you.
It’s only really with Panda’s pushing that Yuuta eventually builds up enough courage to approach you, hesitantly asking if you’d wanted to spar with him (Maki was preoccupied with Inumaki). Shockingly, you smiled softly at him and accepted.
The rest was, quite literally, history.
Little by little, Yuuta makes his way over the walls that you had built up around your heart, soft eyes and gentle smile worming its way into your life without any intent of ever leaving.
He begins to realize that the way you acted with him was a complete 180 to how you acted around others. You regarded him with a soft tone, you touched him with gentle palms, you cooed sweet praises to him and hugged him tightly on those cold nights.
You may be a force to be reckoned with out on the field, but to Yuuta? You were the soft-spoken girl that he devoted his entire heart to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SATORU GOJO
At first, Gojo doesn’t want to think that he finds you intimidating. He tries to be nonchalant when he sees you standing beside Nanami, but you don’t miss the way that his eyes flicker around the room — desperately trying to look anywhere but where you stand.
His gaze is drawn to your scars almost immediately, slightly impressed at the fact that you do very little to hide them. In any other case, he would say that you were proud of them (at least, that’s what he thought).
But, ever the confident man, Gojo does eventually decide to approach you (literally the second that Nanami leaves the room). He tries to crack a joke or two, hoping that you would break and that maybe you would crack a smile. You don’t … and he physically deflates.
That does very little to actually deter him though. Actually, he makes it his personal mission to make his way over the walls that you’ve so obviously put up around your heart. While everyone else would find his actions downright annoying, you find them oddly endearing.
It’s rare that someone takes such an interest in you, considering that the aura you radiated was really anything but initially friendly. To see Gojo try so hard to capture your attention … well, it only makes you that much more interested in just why he was so dead set on you.
Eventually, Gojo finally finds it in himself to properly ask you out — in his very own Satoru Gojo way. A bouquet of overpriced roses, a night at a resturant with pricing that could probably pay your mortgage, and a sweet walk that ended with Gojo hopelessly devoting himself to you.
He adores the change in your personality — how you can easily switch from sternly speaking to your students to mumbling to him as if he were the only thing in your world that mattered.
But that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t also love the firm persona you take on when you’re, for example, out for a day together.
He adores you … always and forever.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
KOKICHI MUTA
Unlike the others, Kokichi isn’t immediately put off by your appearance. If anything, he’s intrigued by it. In a way, you remind him of himself; kept to yourself and separated from others — it makes him want to interact with you right at that moment.
He won’t ever admit it to your face, but the first time that he did end up speaking to you, he was quite literally shaking under your gaze. You were just so damn assertive.
At first, you come off as very bothered by Kokichi – but he quickly learns that it's the complete opposite. Just because you were this scarred, unapproachable individual didn't make you any less human than Kokichi himself.
Slowly but surely, he makes his way over those walls that you had built up around your heart, opening you up and revealing that softened persona that lay hidden underneath it all. The sweet-eyed, soft-spoken girl who really wanted nothing more than to love and be loved in return.
Upon coming to that realization, Kokichi finds himself gentler with you – just like you were with him. His words are soft-spoken and truthful, his actions performed out of the kindness of his heart rather than if the situation called for it.
All in all, Kokichi feels a sense of protectiveness over you once you finally open yourself up to him. You were being vulnerable with him in a way that you simply weren't around others. And he was going to protect that vulnerability, no matter what it took.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NORITOSHI KAMO
Out of all the previously mentioned characters, Noritoshi is the one who minds the least about your appearance. If anything, he finds himself relating to you — considering that many don’t approach him as well for various reasons.
And so because of that, he approaches you with as much confidence as he could muster, striking up a conversation with you and regarding you just as softly and respectfully as he would anyone else.
You’re caught off guard by him at first, though slowly but surely, you and Noritoshi constantly seek the other out.
He admires your ability to switch between being stoic and cold to soft and sweet. How around others you wore an expression as cold as the harshest winter, but the moment that you heard the lull of his voice, you were turning to him with a gentle smile.
Noritoshi admires your scars actually, spending many nights just laying at your side with his fingertips dragging over the raised skin. He’ll hum a quiet song for the both of you, holding you and simply moving his fingers along your arm or leg.
Another thing that Noritoshi adores about you is the way you whisper to him during your time spent together — how you lower and soften your voice when speaking to him. He smiles gently at you when he notices, then holding your face and decorating your face with little kisses.
He doesn't mind your switch from soft to stoic, he knows that it's just what you're used to and it's become the norm for you. To him, you're still his lover, his absolute everything -- no matter what persona you decide to put on for the day.

Gojo Satoru Can't Bake
Tumblr media
You walk into the kitchen to find Gojo in the midst of a total baking disaster, so you decide to help him.
.
.
.
.
Gojo is horrible when it comes to baking, or at least he pretends to be. You were always told Gojo Satoru was perfect at everything so when you entered the kitchen to see messy counter tops and baking supplies sloppily strewn about it was quite surprising. Everywhere you looked there was a mess showcased there.
“Hey Gojo… is everything alright in here?” You ask, trying to be subtle as you look at the kitchen nightmare before you. “Yea, everything's great, why do you ask?” He responds as he mixes whatever concoction is in the steel bowl nestled in his arm, flower messily sloshing over the edge onto everything in small puffs.
“You know what, why don’t I help you, this could go a lot faster with the two of us working.” You offer, Gojo nodding with a smile as he steps aside, obliging your entry into his workspace. You clean up some of the unnecessary messy dish clutter before moving on to helping him with the batter, pouring it into a pan and readying it for the oven. When the mixture finally makes it to the oven the two of you sit and wait, having casual conversation as a heavenly chocolate scent fills the air as time passes.
“You know, I'm not that bad at baking, I promise.” Gojo says, smiling at you with a toothy grin. “Well, no offense Gojo but… when I walked in here it looked like a bomb went off.” You respond through light giggling, the timer goes off and Gojo pulls the fresh, hot, chocolate cake from the oven and sets it aside to cool.
“Maybe I just wanted an excuse for us to get closer.” He throws a subtle wink in your direction as he stands over the cake, you sit a little shocked by the admission but nonetheless amused. “Is that so? Oh you sneaky, sly, man!” The both of you laugh together as he ices the cake, cutting you a slice just after to give a taste test. You hated when Gojo proved you wrong but boy was he correct, he wasn't bad at baking after all, the kitchen may have looked like a disaster but the cake was probably the best one you'd ever tasted.

other half 彡 levi ackerman

» summary ⋆ levi doesn’t exactly notice it, but one of his love languages is physical touch. (how he acts when he’s in love)

Tumblr media
Levi doesn’t exactly notice it, but one of his love languages is physical touch.
That’s because, growing up, he lost everyone he treasured.
His mother passed away when he was nothing more than a living skeleton, too young to live on his own. The last memory he recalls is laying his head down on her lap and her feather-like touch. Her fingers were gentle as they ran through his hair. Sometimes it had grown so long to the point where she’d braid them.
The man who found Levi, rotting beside the corpse of his mother, raised him as though he was a caretaker, but not like a father. It’s vague in Levi’s older years, but he remembers the head pats and the hair ruffling. The man was overall careless and strong, but he had soft moments where he’d praise Levi. And just out of the blue, the mystery man abandoned him. Years later, when it was revealed that this man was his uncle all along, he had died in the next moment.
Then there was Furlan and Isabel, the only two people he had considered his family in his adult years Underground. Isabel was a girl with no personal space for the people she cared for. For as long as she could remember, she loved hugs. And while Levi was stiff and complaint about it, she’d do it again and again. Pats on the shoulder from Furlan were enough of a relief to know he was there. Yet, they soon left, devoured on their first expedition outside the walls.
Levi’s very first squad respected his space, unlike Isabel. Even so, they meant something to him. He’d only seen the aftermath of their lives. He doesn’t have much of a physical memory from them. He carries the weight of being unable to protect them as they always would for him.
Then came the commander—both of them. The people he grew to appreciate. He wouldn’t dare to admit out loud they had become his friends. The two strong leaders made a great sacrifice for the sake of humanity. It was heavy. Like the death of his squad, he added that weight to the list. He could feel the hands of Erwin and Hange on his shoulders urging him on.
They’re all gone. Bittersweet memories. Repeating nightmares taunt him just when he thinks he’s got it wrapped around his head.
Through such hardships, he’s gifted with you. The war hasn’t come to an end, not yet, but you’re the only person he knows who survived countless battles from the very beginning.
You have become the only person in the entire world to whom he will cry, vent, and lean toward when he needs to. Whenever he wants to.
His comfort is his best friend. His lover. His partner in crime. That’s always going to be you.
Anyone who catches him holding your hand or kissing your cheek may find it strange. He doesn’t want to be touched by anyone, let alone touch someone himself. He’s a damn intimidating man. One look is all he needs to drive people away. And while it took some time to get to the point where he could freely be himself, the thought that he doesn’t deserve you still gnaws at him.
You treat him like a living person, not as Humanities Strongest. You went through hell and back just to get to know him, to understand him—why he acts and feels the way he does. You’ve changed him into a better man, and you’ve accepted his flaws. Your devotion and love are so innocent and pure, he knows you’d do it all over again. Just for him.
He didn’t make it easy to break down his walls. His guard was exhaustingly high. He tried to push you away in case of the day he loses you, then it wouldn’t hurt so much. But as his calloused hands find their place on the soft skin of your cheeks, eyes shining of love, giggles echoing in his ears, he doesn’t look back. You’re the one he wants to protect. Lay his life down for. A reason to look ahead.
Sometimes, you’re too busy laughing to notice he smiles when you’re this close. But you know he’s content despite how rarely he smiles.
At meetings or meals, he’ll sit across from you. There are times when he rests the tip of his boot atop yours lightly. It’s just his way of keeping in contact with you. If he decides to sit next to you, he’ll be close enough that your knees press against his gently. It did take him some time to kiss you, but he was uneasy about public displays of affection. On his own, and with your patience, he comes to terms with holding your finger or keeping a grip around your waist whenever you’re out together.
He’s a different man in private. He holds you so close, hugging you tightly like you’ll disappear if he lets go. He loves it when you come to the office late at night, settling yourself on his lap as he completes his work—writing with one hand and holding you against him with the other (he complains someone will see and that you should be getting rest, but makes no effort to get you off). When exhaustion kicks in, Levi loves to rest his head on your shoulder, keeping a hand on your thigh and gently caressing the fabric of your pants or, even better, your skin. His body weight is all on you when he’s knocked out cuddling, not that you’ve ever complained about it. Not that you ever will.
Who would’ve guessed the stoic captain had such a soft side?
Nighttime is the worst. A swarm of nightmares disturb his rest. That’s when he becomes desperate for your touch. Your chest and your lap, that’s his new favorite pillow. Your fingers playing with his hair, his undercut, or rubbing his upper back boosts his melatonin. Your arms are the safest place in such an unforgiving world. You’re a calming piece of his life he doesn’t dare to lose.
He can’t.
Even though the war isn’t over, and there’s no time to spend together, it’s your presence that aids him for a while. Even if he can’t see with his eye properly, he relies on touch. Just your hand, and he’s good.
Who would he be without you? He doesn’t want to know.

postwar!levi x reader
You're preparing for the event, which requires formal clothes.
Tumblr media
You're watching how Levi is trying to fix his white ascot. He's been fighting with that piece of fabric for a few minutes now, still not satisfied with the result. You can almost sense his frustration in the air. You always can. And you also know that he won't ask you for help. His pride will never allow him.
You're getting up from the chair and coming closer. You look at his mirror image, your eyes meet, and you smile a little before speaking:
“Let me help you.”
Levi doesn't say a word, but he turns to you, giving you a free hand. You focus on the task, and slowly take care of this, everything must be perfect, the way he likes it.
You feel his eyes on you, focused the same way on your beauty as you're on the ascot. You're almost blushing; even after all this time, his gaze makes you feel weak on your knees.
When you've done, you look at him, putting your hand on his cheek and tracing his scars with your thumb.
“You look really handsome,” you whisper.
“Tch...” You know Levi resists the urge to roll his eyes.
“I mean it!” You assure him, and to confirm it, you give him a sweet kiss. You feel how he relaxes at the touch of your lips.
And when you pull away, you see he's even more handsome than before. His skin gains some color, and he has happy sparkles in the eyes.
“We should go,” he says. “We can't be late.”
You nod. Levi takes the cane in one hand, and he gives you the free arm. You grab it, and both of you leave the room, looking like the most beautiful couple in the world.

Post war Levi!
Warnings: none
Levis pretty private when it comes to his personal life, so really it’s no surprise his former squad members had no idea he was in a relationship let alone got married recently. They knew of your existence but never had a suspicion about the nature of your relationship. You and Levi were just friends to them and you helped him with whatever he needed. Little did they know, you and Levi were in love.
It’s not that Levi wanted to hide you, he just doesn’t want people asking too many questions. Also he still has that lingering feeling that everything can go to shit and he could lose you but theres no imminent danger anymore, he’s not a soldier fighting anymore. His logic is not sound to you but you respect his wishes nonetheless.
Now you were married, sharing a home, the situation is different now. So this time when former Levi squad visit their captain to catch up, they were a little shocked upon seeing you open the door to Levis home. Jean, Connie and Armin immediately just thought you were there to help Levi do something.
“Hi guys! Come in!” You greet them with a big smile. They weren’t expecting you there, although maybe they should’ve, they know you and Levi are close.
Levi comes into the living room where you all gathered in and they all greet each other, happy to see each other.
“It’s nice to see you! We weren’t expecting to see you here today.” Armin says to you as he sets down some gifts he brought for Levi. He never likes to show up empty handed to someones home.
“Well I live here now so expect it the next time you guys visit.” As you so casually announce that fact Connie spots a ring on your finger, mouth now open. He looks at Levis hand, spots a matching ring. Levi is looking at Connie waiting for him to connect the dots.
“Wait a minute, hold on” Connie starts, Armin and Jean look around him confused. “Are you two… married?”
“Yes” you both answered.
“What- when- how-“ Jean is beside himself, Armin is smiling congratulating the both of you. You and Levi explain you’ve been in a relationship for a long time just kept it to yourselves. Jean suggests we all celebrate, to show how happy they are for you and Lev, especially for Levi. It’s such wonderful news that Levi found someone to love him and care for him, not judge him, not pity him, not treat him differently, just love him for who he is.

Movie Night
Tumblr media
It’s been years since I last wrote anything about HxH. Also modern au? Or not? But it has pop culture references here (and I never really watched the anime either lmao).
Tumblr media
“So, um, what’s the first movie you’ve ever watched?”
Feitan glanced at you, slowly, like in those horror movies about possessed protagonists and you were the clueless side character. You knew he didn’t really watch the movie in front of you. You knew that he kept you in his peripheral vision after many pleas for him to stop staring at you so blatantly whenever you watched something. Not that you blamed him. This movie turned out to be boring. You didn’t even know why you spent so much time begging him to get his hands on a copy.
“Human Centipede.”
“Ah…”
Why weren’t you surprised? The answer sounded so predictable, so stereotypical of him you were almost disappointed. Or maybe you were just stupid to expect something different from a torturer slash murderer who was also your captor.
“How was it? Do you like it?”
You’d never watched it, but you heard about it. It was a classical torture movie, featuring a deranged surgeon sewing people’s mouths to the other’s… rears. Sometimes, you wondered what the actors thought when they first read the script. Were they disgusted? Were they laughing at the absurd plot?
“It was fine.”
Fine. Just fine. If your eyes weren’t failing you, you might even think there was a flash of boredom in there; a slight softening of his eyes. Apparently, the idea of people being forced to eat from another person’s rear wasn’t interesting enough for him.
“I see. As for me, it was the Mummy.”
Feitan raised an eyebrow. You didn’t tell him your favorite scene was when the newly awakened mummy chased the female character around because he thought she was his long-lost love. It might spark some… ideas on Feitan’s mind.
Still, it didn’t quite hide the small, pleased smile on your face.
“You really like it.”
“I do.”
There was a momentary silence after that, not quite comfortable but also not quite awkward. You forced yourself to continue watching the movie, while glancing at the clock occasionally. Just half an hour more, and you could go to bed.
“We could watch Fubar, if you want.”
“What? Oh, um, no. Thank you.”
You’d never heard about that, but you knew you might regret watching it. After all, it was already proven that his taste in media was questionable at best and disgusting at worst.
Feitan smirked faintly, mischievously, from underneath his cowl.
“Good choice.”
You shot him a side eye.

Braids and Mochi Escapades

Obanai x female reader
Mitsuri braids reader’s hair, Obanai can’t handle the cuteness!
Being a hashira, your life involved seeing lots of blood, guts, and other horrible things. It didn’t consist of much light and happiness but that all changed one day when you seized the opportunity to work with another hashira and your whole perspective on life changed. You had never had so much fun than when you and Mitsuri slayed demons together. She was a formidable opponent and even taught you many skills you now utilized in your own missions. Not to mention, she was kind, funny, and naturally, very loving. These were traits you had embodied before your life darkened because of demons but Mitsuri showed you that you could still embrace and seek out good times even when all else seems hopeless. That’s how you found yourself having a sleepover with the Love Hashira after your semi annual hashira meeting was adjourned. The hashiras were all granted a few days’ rest before accepting any more missions so when Mitsuri invited you over for a girl’s night, you couldn’t say no (Shinobu did, though—she was always busy with some sort of research). You ordered as much sakura mochi the kitchen could begrudgingly make for you guys and made your way to Mitsuri’s room to hang out while the food was being prepared. You didn’t have the chance to announce yourself before her screen opened and the excitable girl wrapped you in a hug.
“Y/N! I’ve been looking forward to this all day! Come in, come in!”
She dragged you inside and you let out a sigh of relief when her strong grip finally released you. Putting down your futon and extra blankets, you felt your stomach flutter with happiness. You hadn’t had a sleepover since you were very young and were relishing the fact you could have a normal few days without the stressors of being a hashira.
“I ordered us sakura mochi from the kitchens, I hope that’s alright,” you said, a bit shy. You knew it was her favorite but you didn’t want to come off as overbearing. Your worries were instantly quelled by the huge smile that graced her face as she pulled you in for another hug, thank you’s flowing out of her mouth nonstop. You giggled, already feeling content at how the night was going and you hadn’t been there for over a minute.
“So, is there anything in particular you want to do while we wait? I’m not well versed on sleepover activities yet, I apologize,” you said sheepishly.
Mitsuri just gave you a kind smile. “Don’t apologize! Tonight’s going to be so much fun! Ooh! I know! I can braid your hair!”
You instantly lit up. You were always envious of how pretty Mitsuri’s hair was and you’d be lying if you said you hadn’t tried her signature hairstyle on yourself many times. However, you could never make it look as cute as she does so you were ecstatic that she would bestow her skills upon your head. She brought over a box of ribbons, all different colors of the rainbow, to tie at the ends of your hair as you released the pulled back style you had kept your strands in. When Mitsuri sat behind you and began to gently detangle your hair, you felt a wave of relaxation run through you. It felt nice to have someone so eager to take care of you for a change. You two basked in the comfortable silence until the talkative girl spoke up.
“So, y/n, do you have a crush on anyone?”
Your eyes that were previously closed opened up in a flash. Of course she would ask that, she’s the Love Hashira! But you were embarrassed that you had allowed yourself to succumb to such a weakness like love. Not even love, just unrequited affection toward a man that barely acknowledged you. It was humiliating to let her know of the truth of your heart but you couldn’t find it within yourself to lie to her.
“Unfortunately, yes, I do. He’s the most handsome man I’ve ever had the chance to lay eyes on but we’ve only spoken once out of all the years we’ve known each other. I watch him from afar but refuse to speak to him first out of fear. It’s shameful, I know.” You were glad she couldn’t see your face as you spoke because you weren’t used to being this vulnerable. You were pleasantly surprised when she kept braiding, not skipping a beat.
“Oh, y/n, that’s so romantic! Pining and yearning are just two pillars of the many that make up love. It’s not shameful. Love is a complicated thing, especially for us, but if you face fear head on you’ll find that most things aren’t as scary as you think they might be. If you like him, he must have a good heart. Don’t be afraid to strike up conversation. He’ll come around eventually.”
You didn’t know how she did it but you instantly felt better. “You’re right, Mitsuri. Thank you.”
A few seconds passed.
“May I know who it is that’s captured your heart?”
You grimaced, knowing this would happen. “Um, I’m not sure I-”
“It’s probably Tengen, isn’t it? He’s so dreamy! If you’re into guys like that. Wait, you two have spoken many times so that doesn’t fit your description. Ugh, it isn’t Giyuu, is it?”
You tried your best not to laugh. Poor Giyuu, you didn’t know why no one liked him but even though you held a soft spot in your heart for him, it was the wrong man.
“No. Different raven haired man.”
She went quiet for a moment before gasping. “Obanai?”
You shook your head slightly in affirmation and she let out a high pitched squeal, inadvertently yanking on your finished braid in excitement. “Oh my gosh! You like Obanai? That’s so cute! You HAVE to talk to him, he’s such a sweetie!”
You grabbed onto your tender scalp in an attempt to soothe it after she almost ripped out all of your strands. “Now that the whole compound knows of my feelings,” you muttered, “I think my confidence to face him is completely shattered.”
Mitsuri gave you a pouty face. “No, don’t say that! You’re a beautiful girl and any man would be lucky to have you. He’s shy, you’re shy, it’s a tough combination but if you’ll allow me, I can tell him of your affections to see where it goes.”
“Oh, that’s alright, no need. If it’s meant to be, it will be. But thank you. And thank you for this gorgeous hair! Maybe this will give me the confidence boost I need to approach Obanai.” You gave the pink and green haired girl a hug and then inspected her work in a mirror. She had tied your (h/c) hair with ribbons, but they were mismatched colors. You were going to make a joke about her being colorblind before the realization of what the colors reminded you of set in. She had used one yellow ribbon and one turquoise ribbon, perfectly coordinating with Obanai’s eyes. Your mouth hung open in shock as Mitsuri giggled at your reaction.
“I hope you don’t mind! I was originally going to use just turquoise but when you mentioned your feelings for Obanai I thought this might be a way for you to feel closer to him. And it’s a great conversation starter.”
You gave her another huge hug, amazed at and grateful for her quick thinking. “Now that you’ve got me looking this good, we’re ready to get our food!”
Mitsuri clapped her hands in excitement and grabbed your arm as you two raced out the door of her room and into the warm summer night. The hot, sticky air permeated through your haori and left a slight sheen of sweat on your skin. You took a second to appreciate the quiet stillness of the compound, the smell of wisteria giving you comfort. You knew it was impossible for demons to be around, so why did it still feel like someone was watching you intently in secret? You shook it off, thinking you just weren't allowing yourself to let your guard down.
You laughed a little, turning to Mitsuri. "I'm not used to this relaxation time-"
She was gone. You would've been majorly freaked out if you hadn't spotted her entering a building beyond where you stood. Maybe her appetite turned ravenous and couldn't wait another second for food so she ran to the kitchen? You were confused and ready to catch up with her but your attention was turned to the rustling noise from above you. You stood under a wisteria tree and hanging over your braided head was a snake. Its white body slithered through the branches, staring at you and occasionally sticking its tongue out. You weren't familiar with snake behaviors but this one seemed friendly enough so you cautiously reached your hand toward it in an attempt to pet it. It didn't bite you when your fingers touched its smooth head so you took that as a good sign. You were extremely surprised, though, when it fell out of the branches, instead opting to rest on your shoulders. You tried to calm your breathing and before you could get too freaked out at your predicament, you almost facepalmed in realization that there was nothing to worry about. It was Kaburamaru, Obanai's snake friend, that had found his way to you. You were both looking at each other with curious eyes and you gave him a smile, trying to guess at what he was thinking.
"Mitsuri did my hair, Kaburamaru! That's why I look different. Though you probably recognized me by my scent from the other meetings you've attended, hmm?" Him, being a snake, obviously didn't answer you but he did seem like he understood what you were saying. "Are you hungry? We could try and find some frogs at the pond if you'd like." He lifted his head and you could've sworn he shook it in disagreement.
"Alright then. Should we go find Obanai? It's a little late for you to be out here all by yourself."
"He's not by himself."
You nearly jumped out of your skin when you heard Obanai's voice from above you. You looked up and saw the bandaged face of your crush peering at you from some higher up branches, nearly in the same position you had found Kaburamaru.
"O-Obanai! I apologize for not greeting you. I hadn't noticed your presence." You bowed and hoped he would forgive you. He climbed out of the tree and landed at your feet, black hair moving effortlessly around him. Your mouth went dry and any words that could've been said had died in your throat the moment your eyes met his. He was even more beautiful at ground level when you could observe him up close. His eyes glistened in the full moon's light that blessed the Master's compound. The man of short stature had such a strong, powerful aura about him that almost made you dizzy, yet was so intoxicating that it drew you in. Neither of you shared any words for the next minute or so, unsure of what to say.
"You hair's... different," muttered Obanai, taking in your appearance and then suddenly looking away.
"Mitsuri did it for me! I was telling Kaburamaru all about it. He seemed to notice as well," you said, the warmth of embarrassment creeping on your face as you registered that what you said suggested that you were conversing with a snake. If Obanai didn't think you were a weirdo before, he definitely did now.
"He's very perceptible," Obanai agreed, making you feel at ease about your previous panic. You two found yourselves in another awkward silence and you prayed to any god that would listen that Mitsuri would come back with your food soon.
"So what brings you out here this time of night?" you asked.
He cocked an eyebrow. "I thought you despised small talk."
Your eyes opened the tiniest bit wider. How had he known that? You barely interacted with him in all the years you had worked together yet he was aware of that little fact about you. Had he been noticing you all this time and you were too ignorant to see it?
"I do." You took in a breath. Time to be brave, y/n. "I just... wanted to talk to you. About anything. Get to know you better." Now it was your turn to look away as you cringed at how that sounded. You wished you had gone to Tengen for flirting lessons before ever coming in contact with Obanai.
"Why?"
Your head turned back to face him again as you answered with a shrug. "Because you're interesting." And because you're ridiculously handsome and I'm hopelessly in love with you!
His eyes narrowed. "Interesting enough to mock me with your hair bows?" He pointed accusingly to your hair, the ends of your mismatched ribbons adorning Kaburamaru as he continuously slid over your body.
"What? No, you have the wrong idea! I swear, I'm not mocking you, I-" You didn't know how to respond and your time was running out before Obanai hated your guts. You resigned to telling him the truth; you'd rather be hated for that than for something that was blatantly false. "I told Mitsuri I found you handsome but was too shy to speak to you so she thought matching the ribbons to your eyes would be a way for me to feel closer to you." He had an unreadable look on his face and you wished you could melt into a puddle on the ground and evaporate away from this conversation. You reached your hands to your hair and began to undo the ribbons. "It was a bad idea, I'm sorry for-"
"N-no! Don't!" Obanai's hands shot out so fast you never saw them coming. He grasped your fingers, stopping them from their job of removing the ribbon. When you felt his cool skin on yours, goosebumps made their way across your entire being. "They look pretty. Y-you look... pretty." Was it a trick of the light or was Obanai... blushing? You couldn't believe your ears. Did he just call you pretty? You thought your night was going to be amazing just being at a sleepover with your friend and now your crush was practically holding your hand and calling you pretty. Obanai was about to remove his hand from yours when Kaburamaru quickly wrapped himself around your conjoined appendages, not allowing either of you to let go. The Serpent Hashira was left in a state of blushing and stuttering apologies for his friend's indecencies and you were certain the snake was laughing at you both.
As if summoned by pounding heartbeats and gauche attempts at confessing feelings, Mitsuri finally appeared, copious amounts of sakura mochi toppling out of the bags she held.
"Oh my gosh, you two are SO cute together! Did y/n finally tell you that she likes you?" She asked Obanai, mochi flying out of her mouth as she took another bite. As he was always someone who had a snarky comeback or venomous reply, you had never seen him unable to produce words like at this moment when he was floundering for the right thing to say.
"I, well... she, umm... What's it to you anyway?" He finally spit out, but Mitsuri just laughed.
"I'm the LOVE Hashira, silly, I'm the expert at this stuff. Although, I must admit, Kaburamaru did most of my heavy lifting, didn't you?" She beamed at him as he finally released you and Obanai from each other to receive a big helping of raw meat from the pink and green haired girl. You stared at her incredulously.
"You're telling me that you worked together with a snake to set us up?"
"Kaburamaru found me earlier today and brought me to Shinazugawa who told me that he was tired of Obanai dancing around his feelings for you, y/n. He also mentioned that Obanai was probably talking about you nonstop to his closest friend, Kaburamaru, and that he was also done with the inaction. So, we devised a plan and now here we are. Isn't that adorable?"
"I told you he was perceptive," said Obanai, clearly embarrassed, but you found the whole thing to be strangely sweet. You decided it was time to get back to your sleepover where you and Mitsuri could fangirl over this moment for the rest of the night so you bid Obanai and his snake farewell. Before you could turn away to leave, Obanai got your attention one last time.
"I hope that one day I'll be strong and worthy enough to speak of my truest, deepest feelings for you myself, but until then," he reached up to pick a small bunch of wisteria off the tree and tucked it behind your ear, "please accept this gift and the meaning I've imposed on it."
You smiled shyly. "Thank you Obanai. I hope our paths continue to cross in the future." As you made your way back into Mitsuri's room, Obanai watched you until you closed the screen door behind you and for a little while after that. He couldn't promise to love you in a conventional way, but he swore from that day on, he would keep you as safe as possible in this unpredictable world you lived in.
BONUS:
On the day of the hashira's departure from the safety of Ubuyashiki's lands, you felt your heart sink at the remembrance of the danger you and Obanai had to go back out and face. However, your aching chest was abated by the raven haired man that entered your view, timidly thrusting a lump of something into your palms. You quickly unraveled the folded fabric and you were greeted with two knee high socks with the same black and white striped pattern as Obanai's haori.
"Obanai, that's so thoughtful of you! I'll treasure these forever."
"You don't need to treasure them, they're just socks," he grumbled, not meeting your eyes.
You giggled. "But they're from you. How could I not want to keep something so precious in good condition?"
"If they rip, I'll buy you more. So don't worry about it."
"Thank you so much for the kind gift." Your gaze softened at him as you frowned the tiniest bit. "I'm sorry I didn't get you anything, I feel bad."
"I don't need anything. Just..." He finally looked at you. Your hair ribbons mirrored his eyes once more (you swore to wear them like that until the day you died and then in every reincarnation you were born into) and he felt his heart beat against the walls of his chest. "Just don't die. That's all I ask of you. Let me be able to see you again."
Your own heart panged with the weight of his words. "I promise. I'll see you soon, Obanai Iguro."

Ahh this instantly reminded me of that official art I used in the cover, so cool! Please let me know what you think <3
Kyojuro Rengoku taking you on a date to a light festival
Tumblr media
Pairing: Rengoku x fem!reader
Word Count: 2,1k
Synopsis: Even though Kyojuro never saw more than a kind comrade in you, he decided to take you to the light festival he arranges every year for his beloved mother. All it takes is one evening for him to realize that you are way more than just a comrade to him...
Warnings: This is my first ever Rengoku fic so please take your time and leave a like, comment or reblog if you enjoy 🥹 fluffness overload, reader being shy, last part not proofread bc I reeaaaallyyy need to work on my university papers right now, hope you still enjoy!
One last glance in the mirror just to make sure you look alright while your heart beats out of your chest.
Finally. This is the day you’ve been waiting for since weeks. The minute none other than Kyojuro Rengoku asked you to accompany him to the yearly night festival in his hometown, you thought about it each and every day. What are you supposed to wear? Are you skilled enough to do your makeup? What if he doesn’t like you in something apart from your demon slayer uniform? It took ages to decide on a festive yukata you’ll wear, hours to do your hair decently enough. And in the end, you decided to wear no makeup at all.
“(y/n), he is awaiting you at the door”, your beloved mother gently announces into your room.
He’s there. Your fingers run over the soft fabric of your yukata frantically one last time before crossing the room and walking down the hallway.
“Oh... (y/n)”, the man at the door breathes out, eyes widen and mouth hanging open.
Huh, why is he looking at you like that? Is a stain on your yukata that you’ve missed? Is your hair already falling apart? Your mind goes blank, staring at him through doe eyes. What is wrong?
“I’m sorry for staring at you so shamelessly. It’s just…You look strikingly beautiful.”
In an instant your cheeks heat up, skin turning dark red without mercy. Did he just call you beautiful?
“Oh…Thank you so much, Rengoku-san. I really don’t deserve your praise”, you reply, bowing down in gratitude.
In the corner of your eye you catch a glimpse of his festive black yukata and white cape. How is a single man able to look so elegant and breath-taking? How is it possible that he invited you to this festival right by his flamboyant side?
“May I ask you to call me Kyojuro, please? No need for formalities.”
Your heart skips a beat. Are you dreaming? This is too good to be true. Over the last few months, you worked close to him, always admiring him from afar. Officially, he was never more than a hashira, the ideal you grieved for. But when you got to know him better, when you were able to talk about anything but the demon slayer corps…There was no way out of hopelessly falling for him.
He stretches his hand out, smiling at you so widely that you forget how to breathe to a minute. Why…
Does he want you to take his hand?
“Go on, dear. Have a nice evening and stay safe.”
With a gentle push, your mother draws you closer to him, making you grab his warm hand out of instinct. Despite you went on multiple missions with him, you were never this close to him, never meeting each other in privacy. But this…
This feels like a date.
“Are you alright, (y/n)? I hope I don’t make you feel uncomfortable.”
You hold onto his arm tightly, gazing at him through widen eyes. Oh no, you’re messing it up with being so nervous. Should you tell him the truth? Or just pretend there’s nothing wrong?
“Can I be honest with you?”, you mutter, making him tilt his head in a way that makes you see stars.
“Of course, you always can!”, he shouts back in the matter of seconds.
“You know…This is the first time a man ever took me out…”, you stutter, gaze fixated on the grass underneath your feet.
His eyes dart towards your face, looking for a sign of humour in your bright orbs. But by the way you blush so deeply and how you fumble his sleeve he can tell you are serious about your words. A gorgeous woman like you was never asked out? This is impossible, this is absolutely unacceptable. He clenches his hands into fists.
Kyojuro Rengoku will make sure to make you feel special throughout the entirety of this day.
“Then I am beyond honoured to be the first one”, he replies along with a bright smile that lights up his entire face.
You smile at him widely, that cute little blush still tinting your cheeks in the most admirable way Kyojuro has ever witnessed. He never thought about asking a woman out, let alone another member of the demon slayer corps. For all these months, you were nothing but comrades, a pair that worked really well together.
Until it became more for him.
Until he couldn’t stop thinking about you even though you left long ago. Until he started to ponder about your breath-taking smile and soft hair instead of your fighting skills. Until he saw more in you than just a demon slayer.
No, you are a woman. And what a gorgeous one. Maybe Uzui was right, after all.
“So you and (y/n), huh?”
“What are you talking about, Uzui?”
“Come on man, I see the way you look at her. And I get it, she is really stunning and pretty smart on top. She’d be a great catch for you, especially for the first one.”
“The first?”, Kyojuro repeated in shock, widen eyes staring at you shamelessly.
He never planed on having a single wife in the first place. Why would Uzui suggest something so ridiculous? You are nothing but a comrade to him with your shiny eyes, strong body, and the delicate way your body moves in the sunset. And oh, your character made of pure gold, how you treat others with infinite kindness. So delicate, so lovely…
“Oh my, look at all those delicious sweets”, you cry out in excitement, arm wrapping itself around Kyojuro’s tighter.
“You never told me that you like sweets”, he replies gently.
“Would you…Would you mind getting something to eat with me? I really love sweets and here are so much of them to try.”
The way you tuck a strand of hair behind your ear almost drives the flame hashira himself insane, eyes glued to your delicate frame in nothing but admiration. How did he never really notice how unmistakably lovely you are?
“Not at all, let’s get you something to eat!”
Proudly, he watches how you slowly but surely get comfortable around him, telling him everything he needs to know about your favourite sweets while your eyes sparkle in sheer excitement.
“I love chocolate as well, especially the darkest one!”
“I heard that far away, someone invented a white chocolate. White! Can you believe it? How is it even possible to make something like that? I wonder what it tastes like.”
“Someday, I will take you to find out yourself”, Kyojuro suddenly blurts out.
Your eyes dart towards him, hands completely frozen in place. Calm down, don’t freak out, tame your excitement.
“Would you really do that, Kyojuro?”
“If it makes you happy, I very gladly will!”
You don’t know what has gotten into you. Maybe your endorphins are all over the place because of all the sweet you’ve ate, maybe it is the sake that was in the pralines from earlier, but you can’t contain yourself. With a swift motion, you put the last piece of chocolate in your mouth before wrapping your arms around none other than Kyojuro Rengoku.
Kyojuro Rengoku, the man you’ve been eyeing since joining the demon slayer corps. Kyojuro Rengoku, who seemed to never see more in you than a simple friend.
Kyojuro Rengoku, who instantly wraps his strong arms around you as well.
He didn’t expect you this close to him except for training. But oh does it feel good. How did he never notice how intoxicating good you smell and how warm your body feels? How did he never notice how much smaller your hands are compared to his? And the softness of your perfectly made hair. He can’t help but wonder how long it took you to make them look this way?
You are so beautiful.
“Thank you for taking me here. I never thought you…You would do something like that with me.”
Your hot breath tickles against his neck and makes shivers run down his spine.
“Of course! After all, I really enjoy your company!”
Discretely, you return to your own seat, the slight tint of red displaying your embarrassment. Did you really just hug him? Hopefully he doesn’t think you’re a freak. Or even worse: what if he doesn’t want to work with you anymore? You’d rather adore him in the dark than not seeing him at all.
“Excuse my outbreak. I guess I got a little carried away. Oh, where are all the people going?”
Your eyes follow the multiple people around you who seem to meet up on the other end of the well-decorated village. By now, it’s already getting dark, the sun is almost completely set.
“Didn’t you know! In just a few moments, the traditional firework will start! Follow me!”
He grabs your hand. Kyojuro’s warm hand wraps itself around yours while he leads you to the crowd, an excited grin plastered on his face.
This is what he waited for, finally he is able to show you the firework. Since you’ve mentioned in a training session that you never saw a firework before, he knew he had to change it.
“Here you’ll be able to see everything.”
Kyojuro”, you breathe out, eyes roaming around the lovely area.
Despite the fact that there is a crowd of people around you, you’re standing next to him in a small pavilion, decorated all over with the most delicate flowers.
“Many of the buildings around us are owned by my family, like the pavilion we are standing in at the moment. After my mother died, I arranged this festival in her honor. She would have loved to make other humans happy by the sight of fireworks.”
Your breath hitches, heart almost overflowing with emotions. Even though he smiles at you softly, you can tell by the pained gleam in his otherwise bright orbs how much he misses his mother especially today.
“I will enjoy every second of it just like she does. I’m sure she is proud of the man you have become, Kyojuro.”
You place your hand on his, fingers intertwining as you lean your body over the railing.
“I bet she watches over you right now from afar.”
“I hope she does”, Kyojuro replies unusual calm.
Then it begins. Your eyes dart towards the sky and the play of colours that lays itself out over your head. So many colours that sparkle like stars, the burnt smell in the air. You don’t know how you imagined a firework to be, but definitely not this exciting.
But unlike you, Kyojuro isn’t able to look at the sky. No, all that he’s able to see is you and how the fireworks reflect in your widen eyes.
This. This must be what dreams are made of, the reason why Uzui is married to three women. Just the way you carry yourself is enough to drive him insane, to make his heart jump out of his chest. And especially now, he just isn’t able to resist any longer.
Before he decides against it, he wraps his arms around you from behind, holding you close with one arm resting around your waist and the other on your shoulder.
“The fireworks will never shine as bright as your eyes, (y/n).”
“K-kyojuro…”
“I love you with all my heart. All this time I thought it is nothing more than sympathy, that I see nothing more than a comrade in you. But you in that delightful kimono, your eyes shining like the stars above…It’s love, (y/n). I love you.”
Suddenly the fireworks above are out of your sight, eyes locked with Kyojuro and his slightly redden cheeks. This can’t be true, right? You dreamt countless night of him, imagined what it would feel like to lay in his arms like you do right now. Is a man like him really able to love a women like you, are you worth his time?
“I’d love to kiss you right now.”
You hold your breath, head nodding ever so slightly when his face draws closer and closer until…
Fireworks around you explode in a grand finale when he presses his lips against yours softer than you ever imagined. He feels as warm and comforting as you expected, his grasp keeping you from sinking down to the ground.
“I could watch you for a lifetime, (y/n)”, he hushes against your lips.
“You…you are way better than a firework”, you breathe out.

Breakfast At Onii-chan's
Tumblr media
Choso, being the good older brother he is, wants to make breakfast for Yuuji and himself. He puts his cooking skills to the test and finds himself truly tested when everything goes wrong
.
.
.
.
“Yuuji! What do you want for breakfast?” Choso calls out from the kitchen, met with a slightly muffled response from Yuuji who still has yet to peel himself out of bed. “Scrambled eggs please!”
Choso hums happily as he moves about the kitchen getting ready to make his little brother some breakfast, grabbing a large pan, warming it on the stove and dropping a pad of butter in to use as cooking oil. He cracks four large eggs into the hot pan to start, letting them bubble and sizzle. Turning the heat up on the stove, the flames rise from the burner and wrap around the bottom of the pan, dancing around the edge as the pan begins to heat up just a little more, he hopes that the increased heat will help speed along the cooking process. The butter starts to spit up and out from the intensity of the heat, with no cover on the pan the oily slick liquid flies up and lands on Choso’s bare chest. “AH, GOD DAMMIT!!” Letting out a loud scream, he startles Yuuji.
“Onii-chan, is everything okay down there?!” Yuuji’s muffled concerns from upstairs being heard by Choso but Yuuji is only met with silence as a response, he goes downstairs to see what the ruckus was about. Turning the corner from the stairs to the kitchen he sees Choso dabbing the skin on his chest with a piece of ice he grabbed from the freezer. “Woah, what happened?” He approaches his older brother with curiosity, looking at the small grease burns on his skin, Choso turns from him with slight embarrassment “I… It’s nothing.” Choso continues to dab and palm at his chest with the ice, leaving the hot pan of eggs unattended as the both of them distract themselves with the topic of Choso’s new injuries.
“Do you want me to help you?” Yuuji offers as he walks over to the stove, Choso stops him before he can take one step closer. “No, I got it, ….I don’t want you getting burnt, …Just sit down.” He says protectively, ushering Yuuji to the kitchen table, the small burns visible all across his chest as they start to blister, Yuuji looks him up and down for a moment, almost feeling guilty that his older brother has gone through so much trouble this morning just trying to prepare them a nice breakfast. “Are you sure you don’t want me to help? That looks like it hurts.” Yuuji says as he attempts to rise back up from his chair, his hand inching closer to Choso’s chest in an attempt to gently palm his burns and see if there's anything he can do to soothe them.
Choso lightly slaps his hand away “No… just please sit down, … I promise I got this from here.” Choso smiles softly at him and walks back over to the stove, Yuuji resting back down in the chair with an understanding nod as he watches his older brother start to tend to their breakfast once again, the smell of slightly burnt eggs in the air and the room having an almost smokey film to it, Choso seemingly unaware of the circumstances arising from the neglected pan of eggs. Yuuji’s attention turns from Choso to the air in the room. “Umm… Onii-chan?...” He mutters out quietly, just barely if at all being heard by Choso, the smell of sulfur becoming just a little more pungent. Choso starts cursing under his breath as he tries to use the spatula to peel up the hardened burnt egg at the bottom of the pan, drawing Yuuji’s attention right back to him. Flames suddenly rise from burnt mess, startling Choso, causing him to let out a high-pitched scream as if he were a little girl who was just jump scared on halloween. Taking the spatula in hand while still screaming he begins to beat the growing flames in the pan trying to suppress the fire but to no avail, the flames continue to rise nearly singeing off his eyebrows in the process, the smell of burnt egg almost unbearingly overwhelming.
Yuuji springs up from his seat, rushing from the kitchen for a moment before coming back with a fire extinguisher, he quickly pulls the pin, aimes, and squeezes the trigger, spraying fire suppressant all over the kitchen and Choso in the process before releasing his grip and cutting off the flow. Choso looks at him coated in the white foamy substance as he blinks twice, wiping the substance from his face before giving Yuuji a defeated look, foam dripping from his ponytails making them droop from their pointy upright position, his hair matching the same defeat he wore on his face, they both look at each other for a minute before Choso parts his lips to speak. “Thank yo…AAAHHH.” He begins to scream once more at the sigh and feeling of fire whooshing up from the charcolized eggs once again, Yuuji raising the extinguisher once more to empty the entity of its contents out onto the fire once again before turning the burner off completely, the fire finally fully suppressed leaving a mess of burnt egg, smoke, and foam in its wake, the kitchen now looking like a bomb had just gone off.
The brothers look at each other for a second in silence, anticipating another flash of fire that would never come, when they know they're in the clear they both start to laugh together, the tension finally breaking as they begin to relax. “O…Onii-chan! Haha, you look like a snowman!!” Yuuji exclaims through his laughter, making Choso laugh harder as he tries to envision how he looks through Yuuji’s eyes. “I guess I do, don’t I!” Trying to catch their breath through their joyous laughter it only intensifies it to wheezing and writhing as they practically fall all over each other, Yuuji losing his balance and slipping in the foam, making hard contact with the ground below with a loud thud, Choso freezes and goes quiet, looking at his younger brother with wide eyes waiting to see if he is alright before making any moves to react to the situation, he was a tanky kid after all but sometimes Choso worried about the amount of impact his brother took over time and how it truly affects him, it may have seemed like a measly slip and fall but sometimes he worried. Yuuji looks up at him with the same shocked expression he was wearing, the two of them beginning to laugh joyously once more at the realization that they were mirroring each other's expressions, it was moments like these between the two that really proved they were truly brothers, their blood runs thick and so does their bond, they are thick as thieves.
