“Dontcha realize what you’ve done, kid?”

Akira couldn’t meet Majima’s eye. He wasn’t prepared to see disappointment - or worse, understanding.

Majima sighed through his nose and Akira heard the squeaking of leather on leather as Majima shifted in his seat.

“You’ve painted a target on your back, Akira.” Kiryu’s gaze was heavy, so heavy in fact, that Akira couldn’t help but buckle slightly from the weight. “No matter how far you run, no matter how many times you try to wash your hands clean from the grim of Kamorucho, you won’t be able to escape. Are you really okay with that?”

He fixed his glasses as he took a deep breath. He needed them to understand. He needed them on his side.

“Yeah, I am.”

Majima leaned forward and cocked his head to the side, “Haw? I don’t think ya realize just how much shit yer in.”

He felt his hands clench in his lap. Of course they’d think that. He was just a kid to them after all. A stray. “I know exactly what I’m getting into.”

Kiryu ran a tired hand over his face. “If you’re doing this for kicks I-” “I’m not!”

Akira’s shoulders began to shake as he stared hard at his lap. “That’s...that’s not why I’m doing this.” “Then why?” “I’m already some big bad criminal, aren’t I? Got a nice little assault charge on my record. Any chance I’ve ever had at living a normal life was shot as soon as I stepped forward.” He laughed morosely. “I mean, I’m lucky to even be in school right now. I’ll be lucky if I get into college and even luckier if I get any decent paying job.”

Akira rubbed his eyes, pushing his glasses up as he did so. “If what I’m doing can stop even one other person from falling into the pit I’m in, then I’m going to take it with everything I’ve got.” He snorted. “Besides, our justice system is shit.”

“Ah I see…” Majima leaned forward and smiled nastily. “Yer tryin’ to play the fuckin’ hero, ay? Think that’ll make it all better? Well lemme give ya some advice: no matter what yer intentions are, ya still stained yerself black. A hero complex ain’t gonna get that to go away.”

Akira finally looked up and met Majima’s gaze. “I know. I’m not….” He ran a frustrated hand through his hair and sighed. “I’m not trying to live out some fantasy here. I know the consequences. I know that by the end of all this I’ll be lucky if all that happens is me getting put on a watchlist. I know that. But if I just sit around and do nothing when I have the power to do something about it, then every choice that led me here was for nothing.”

His jaw clenched and his gaze resembled steel. “I refuse to let it all be for nothing.”

I know it's not pride month or anything but consider Majima and Kiryu taking the pthieves + Haruka to pride. Kiryu would definitely wear those Free Dad Hugs shirt with a bag full of sunblock, snacks and capri suns. Majima going as Goromi? Yes.

YES. we need more smartass akechi who can and WILL do dumb shit purely out of spite and pride. high intelligence low wisdom. 

I COULD be thinking about how Goro is a complex character with his own tragedy that originally is never resolved, how he dies lonely and painfully at the hands of the image hes crafted of himself in the eyes of people who used him for their own means, and how if things had played out different, he would not have (sacrificed) killed himself to protect the only people who told him that maybe there was more to life, and that it was infact worth living.

I could do that, but wheres the fun in that when i could be thinking of him; smart w dumbass energy, and ryuji, pure unfiltered dumbass energy, competing to see who can eat the most spicy ramen in front of every other thief, and then having goro literally choke and cry, face flushed red w bloodshot eyes and a runny nose and drooling bc he literally cant handle anything stronger than paprika, which he knew before agreeing to this competition, but disregarded bc he would never willingly accept a loss to ryuji of all people, even if it meant him getting a trip to the emergency room.

Hello there! I am once again back on my au bullshit after gathering some courage! Persona 5 AU where everything’s the same but instead the Yakuza cast is there as well. I would like to call this AU:

IN THE DRAGON’S DEN

Instead of Sojiro adopting Akira (love you coffee dad) it’s Kiryu. Cue Yakuza level dumbassery as Akira becomes leader of the Phantom Thieves while trying to hide that fact from his definitely-not-a-yakuza dad and his goblin friend who teaches Akira knife tricks. Naturally, everyone knows each other’s big secret because both Kiryu and Akira suck at keeping secrets. Just imagine: Akira walking into the apartment to see Kiryu sitting on the couch with bruises from a fight with Majima. Kiryu: You’re back late. Akira: Er... *bag is overflowing with weapons for the Metaverse* Ryuji needed help with math. Kiryu, nodding: I see. Dinner will be ready in five. Akira: You’re bleeding everywhere. What happened? Kiryu, freezing midstep: Er....I.....fell down the....chimney. (they don’t have a chimney) Akira: Right....I’ll just....go put my things away. Kiryu: *nods*

I’ve finally gathered the courage to use this blog: to share my au ideas and little shitposts involving those universes. So here we go!

CAMP HALF-BLOOD AU

I don’t really have a name for this au yet but hopefully one day I will! Basically, this came to me when I found out that Rick Riordan was writing a script for a Percy Jackson TV show. Naturally, I lost my shit AND considering I love Persona 5 so much, this happened.

I already have like,,,,,ideas for the thieves parentage in this.

Akira Kurusu/Ren Amamiya: Hermes

Hermes, the god of travelers and thieves. An extremely mischievous god and I believe the only one to actually consistently go to the Underworld. Don’t quote me on that. Anyways, I think this fits him pretty well, actually? Like, not just because he’s a phantom thief. Could probably tie in some people sense due to the whole ‘travelers’ thing.

Ryuji Sakamoto: Ares

Frankly, I thought this one would work because Ryuji is a powerhouse in and out of the metaverse. Frankly, I don’t really have much to say on this other then he’s the type to act first think later and that seems to fit the Ares’ Cabin?

Morgana

Morgana doesn’t get demigod rights. He’s a cat. Sorry :(

Ann Takamaki: Aphrodite

NOW BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING: the reason I thought Aphrodite for Ann was because of some of her skills that you can earn via her social link. Crocodile Tears and Sexy Technique could be translated in this au as like,,,,charmspeak??? maybe??? Plus, she’s able to read people really well.

Yusuke Kitagawa: Athena

Athena is the goddess of wisdom, battle strategy and arts and crafts like stuff. Yusuke is a magnificent artist and incredibly wise in his own right. He’s actually pretty analytical and I think that matches with the Athena Cabin.

Makoto Niijima: Athena

Another Athena kid?? Well, this one makes a lot of sense,,,with the whole,,,,advisor thing. Plus half-sibling Yusuke and Makoto? Could be interesting!

Futaba Sakura: Oracle of Delphi

I originally was thinking she could be an unclaimed child of Hades but then I kept thinking: she’s the navigator and her codename is literally Oracle. Suffice to say I felt like a brick hit me in the face with the force of this idea coming to me. Plus, Futaba not being a demigod would mean she can use technology AND she would lord that over the rest of the thieves no hesitation.

Haru Okumura: Demeter

Demeter, goddess of the seasons, the field. Haru is a kind soul who literally gardens in her spare time. Also, Demeter is kind of ruthless behind the semi-niceties. So yeah. Haru badass kid of Demeter let’s go.

Goro Akechi: Hades

Ok yes. Hades is kind of seen as the edgelord demigod dad but like,,,consider. Akechi being able to see people’s death auras. Akechi summoning the dead, desperately trying to gain closure from his mother’s death but he’s left disappointed. 

Kasumi Yoshizawa: Nike

Nike is the goddess of victory. I just thought it fit with Kasumi’s upbeat nature and how hard she works as well. 

Of course these are all just ideas! I’d love to hear other people’s thoughts on this as well.
