Fluffy Highschool AU for Valentine’s Day! 💘

Two students, a third-year boy and a second-year girl, were both partially blinded in an accident 6 months ago. Majima, an athlete-turned-delinquent, sees no point in graduating after he’s kicked from the baseball team due to his injury. Makoto, a transfer student, is treated like an outcast despite being an overachiever. They bond over their common challenges, and Majima helps Makoto deal with bullies while she motivates him to study and complete his third year.

This kind of cliche, lighthearted junkfood fic is just what these fools deserve.💕 I really should’ve used reference for more than like 5% of this but….this was kind of therapy art for my post-holiday blues, so I’ll give myself a break.

I tried to make them look  like high school students, but……..Majima was born 40 years old. Forgive me. 🙏

AU where Makoto’s loved ones are alive, but she still hasn’t regained her sight. Sagawa’s car bomb fails, so Majima, Makoto, and Lee are able to escape the city together. The Nikkyo Consortium catches up with them and takes them into protective custody.

I worked on this in between a few big projects(hence the sloppiness). The past few weeks have been very rough for me, so I’d like to thank these two morons for making me smile the whole time. 💙

Set after the Noct/Ardyn fight in Insomnia. Because he can finally rest, now. (I had wanted to draw something inspired to that Noct quote + Ardyn disappearing in the middle of those bright lights since reaching the end of the game, but I’m glad I waited for episode ardyn to come out before making this. It feels complete now that he has Aera to wait for him in the afterlife <3)

Ardyn x Aera theories.

I firstly want to thank one of my close friends @enigmaphenomenon for helping me think about all of this and coming to these conclusions with me. I’m fairly certain we’re both 100% correct.

First of all, Ardyn and Aera are in love and they’re engaged. It’s not Somnus who’s the fiance. 

There’s no way that Ardyn is not the fiance. Ardyn would have no need to apologize if the fiance Aera was talking about was Somnus. The faces Ardyn makes at her, the tears he sheds for her, his gentleness, and the same way she does these things to him. It’s obvious they’re engaged and in love. Plus, Somnus was back at the castle, where Aera was. He was there where she could find him, unlike Ardyn who was only around Aera from time to time as he traveled to heal people. It’s obviously Ardyn and Aera who are engaged and in love. Plus, Somnus himself says that Aera and Ardyn are engaged. Lol.

Aera lied to Somus about who the chosen king is.

Aera first tells Somnus that he can have her trust so she’s painting the picture towards him that what she’s about to tell him in the truth since she’s finally trusting him. But notice how she hesitates? If the Gods really chose her beloved Ardyn don’t you think that she would be jumping for joy and telling Somnus, HAHA FUCK YOU~ ARDYN IS KING BITCH.

But she’s not. She’s shocked at their decision. She hesitates. She’s standing there thinking what to do. You see– even if Aera and Ardyn are in love and engaged (even if they were to be married), as an Oracle she has to support the King’s vision and goals. If not it would create a civil war and that’s the last thing they need with the plague running around. Both Ardyn and Aera don’t agree with the way Somnus is doing things. So she lies. She doesn’t want to have to follow his ways, she wants to be with her lover, with Ardyn. She says it’s Ardyn who’s the chosen King and she probably has no idea that Somus will do what he did. 

Noctis’ is Somnus’ in Ardyn’s eyes.

Somus took away everything Ardyn loved. More than anything his lover. The best way to hurt a man is to take away the woman he loves the most. Be it his mother, sister, or lover. Regis lost it when his wife Aulea sacrificed herself to save him, and Ardyn loses it with his fiancee sacrifices herself to save him. Noctis is Somnus to Ardyn, remember that Ardyn is the one who came into the chamber to talk to Regis about Noctis and Luna being together. He wanted them to fall in love, he wanted to take everything away from Noctis because, in turn, he feels like he’s beating out Somnus. Ardyn is so full of rage and it’s all directed towards Somnus but he’s taking it out on Noctis and Luna.

When Ardyn sees Luna, he sees Aera. As we can see in the images below.

Ardyn could have hurt Luna at any time. But he didn’t want to, because he wanted to rip her away from Noctis just like Somus (who he sees Noctis as) did to him.  Ardyn is pissed at Somnus. Noctis looks like Somnus, Noctis is a direct descendant from Somnus and NOCTIS is the true king. The king of light the crystal chose.

He stabs Luna in front of Noctis to torment him because Ardyn is taking out the hatred he has for his brother out on Noctis. He’s taking away from Noctis what someone once took away from him. His bride.

Because Noctis looks like Somnus, was chosen by the crystal, and is the king of light. Noctis is also engaged to a woman who looks like Aera. A woman who is completely devoted to Noctis just like Aera was devoted to Ardyn. Ardyn was never going to let Luna and Noctis live happily together because no one allowed him and Aera to. That’s why he stabs Luna and leaves her there to suffer! He stabs her in front of Noctis to torture HIM, the same way he was tortured.

That’s why Ardyn hates Noctis and Luna so much. Ardyn is projecting his hatred onto them. He’s taking all his anger out on Somnus’ look-alike. Just to spite Noctis. Just to get back at Somnus in some way, even if it means torturing people who had nothing to do with what happened. Even when Noctis goes back 10 years later, Ardyn creates an illusion of Luna’s body hanging from the ceiling from chains. Her dress looking significantly more torn than it actually was and she’s not wearing shoes. To get back at him, at Somnus, for the pain he had to feel and the loss he endured.

Aera’s and Luna’s scenes are parallel.

Back turned to them, standing in flowers. Somnus and Ravus like “WHO’S THE KING OUIOYUTYTD” both of them saying that the man those two don’t want to be king, IS KING. Both are brothers. Ravus is the blood brother, and Somnus the brother in law. Sylva dying is what fuels Ravus’ hate for Noctis and Regis and Aera dying fuels Ardyn’s hate for Somnus.

And the loss of his beloved makes him lose control.

…And even while he’s losing his mind, slowly dying. He still thinks of her. Eternally. 

But luckily they’re both reunited in death <3

No wonder Ardyn wanted to die so badly.

Square, I love you so much. You really know how to do wonderful romance!

Ardyn x Aera

I don’t want people getting the wrong idea about events in the game so I want to clear some stuff up! ^u^ 

Square gave me a more canon Ardyn and Aera then I ever imagined. I’m so happy and you have no idea. They’re more canon than I ever thought they would be and I’m so happy. Like, I love Noctluna so much but in an even shorter game, Aerdyn managed to have so much more chemistry and stuff together. You could tell how much they loved one another.

Plus that kiss.

The genuine love for one another. He head booped her after they kissed by the way. Too cute! Go watch!

The way they look at one another.

The way Ardyn hates their cruel fate. Why do they torture both of them so?

The way Aera did the truest and most extreme act of love. She died for him.

So…  It says that Aera dying and him being betrayed was his reason for revenge.

How would you feel to be betrayed by someone you trusted and then also have the person you love the most taken from you? Pretty shitty.

Neither of them has any idea the Gods and or BAHAMUT. Are about to fuck them over. Until Ardyn truly dies at the end of FFXV though. So don’t be too sad!

So the crystal chose Ardyn.

But Bahamut has other ideas in mind, since there will be Noctis in the future and what not– he needs things to go the way he wants in his game. So he tells Aera to lie, remember when she was shocked when she saw a vision, perhaps she saw what would happen to Ardyn if she was to tell Bahamut’s lie.

Of course, Aera loves her fiancee; and wants to see him as King so she’s going, to tell the truth. Somnus as he says himself is envious and jealous of Ardyn. He tricks Ardyn and tries to kill him. Somnus had said he put on the ring too and saw what Ardyn was becoming so perhaps he wanted to kill Ardyn not only out f jealously but also because he didn’t want darkness and bloodshed in the world.

Sadly, Aera had no idea Somnus was going to try and fucking kill his brother and in the ultimate act of love jumped in the way and died for him.

She wants him to continue living and says that throughout the episode because an Oracle can’t rest until the darkness is gone, neither she nor Ardyn can rest or be together until all of the curse and darkness is gone. Aera believes it’s her fault that Ardyn has this cruel path because she told Somnus the truth instead of lying like Bahamut told her to.

But it’s not her fault. She had no idea about this being Ardyn’s fate. She wanted to avoid it as much as possible. Somnus said he was jealous that Ardyn was chosen by the Gods. If he knew Ardyn was to be the sacrifice the whole time then he never would have needed to be jealous Neither Aera or Somnus knew Ardyn’s set in stone fate. Aera even tried to keep it from happening, she had no idea it was his fate no matter what. It’s unfortunate Somnus wasn’t just led to being King instead because then Aera and Ardyn could have just lived in peace because all of Bahamut’s plans would have been ruined. The reason Aera and Somnus didn’t respond to Ardyn when he was shouting “DID YOU TWO KNOW!” was because Bahamut probably wasn’t letting them.

Ardyn and Aera are both pawns in one stupid evil game.

So because neither of them can rest until it’s all over with she wants Ardyn to live, to continue on for the both of them so they can be together again. He gets so pissed at this one part he yells to the Gods why they’re doing this to him and Aera. 

In the end, he finds out Bahamuts game and plan for Ardyn and is like WTF. Then he gets really mad because he is meant to suffer and then just die. That Aera and he are just pawns. That Ardyn is meant to just be some sacrificial lamb.

So Ardyn figures fuck everything and sure I’ll be the bad guy. So we lose Ardyn, he lets the Daemons take him. To corrupt him. We see that he gives up his happiness and humanity when he “kills” “dream Aera and Somnus” and so he breaks like Sephiroth did. He throws away his humanity. 

But, upon the canon ending of FFXV (which the ending of episode Ardyn says CONTINUED IN FFXV, making the ending in FFXV his ending) he finally is able to die, be free, and you can see him smile because he knows he’s going to finally be with Aera again and they can both be free. Ardyn can finally let go of all the hate the daemons are filling him with. And so that is his happy ending.

That’s CONFIRMED. So, please don’t be sad that Ardyn didn’t get his “happy ever after dream ending with Aera” because technically; he did. Remember the loading screen changing? Plus, even if haters say he didn’t get that ending in the game (which the loading screen says different) then still.. He gets it in his canon ending in FFXV. Because the ending in the episode is NOT his final ending, that’s just an ending of what was going on that builds up to FFXV and his true ending at the end of that game. Even the game says TO BE CONTINUED IN FFXV. His. Ending. In. FFXV. Is. HAPPY. He is free from his curse, back to his old self and I guarantee you finding peace as Luna said with his beloved by his side.

You can’t tell me that he didn’t want to die. Lots of times in the game you can hear him saying that the bad guys are lucky to know the sweet release of death. In the canon ending of FFXV I know for sure he died with a smile on his face, because his and Aera’s suffering was finally done. They could be together. He could go back to the real him again and be free of the Daemons.

As the title screen shows us. Ardyn and Aera got their happy ending in FFXV. Just as Noctis and Lunafreya did.
