Okay so like, we talk about all the different ways the Cullens can say that they're related (Rose and Jasper being twins, Bella and Emmett as siblings) but like can we all stop and think about what if they said that Rose and Jasper were Carlisle's younger siblings??? Like okay so if he claimed to have adopted them because their parents were incapable of caring for them for some reason, which they wouldn't even have to give a reason tbh bc who's really gonna ask something so personal, it would make so much more sense to outsiders. For instance, two people in their early twenties adopting five teenagers they have no outside connection to sounds weird, but if they adopted two that they already had some form of relationship with and then "saw how much of an impact it had made in their lives to feel safe and cared for" and decided to adopt a few more older kids to take care of so that they wouldn't have to age out of the system, people would believe it much easier, or at least I would for sure. And like they all have the same color eyes and super pale skin so it also makes more sense for at least a few if them to be biologically related in some way. And yeah, that just makes so much more sense to me than, "oh yeah we adopted like five random stranger teenaged kids even though we are barely older than them" idk
