SO happy that Agent 18 decided to sit down with Phil and set the record straight. He’s not the villain here. They both just want to protect their people, albeit on opposing sides. And while I know *Phil* knows that, not everyone who watches his POV seem realize that

They’re both very interesting characters because they’re so similar to one another. Both Agent 18 and Phil are protectors and care deeply about their friends. And when their friends get hurt or they can’t protect them??? They take that to heart and they blame themselves. They’re self sacrificial losers who keep being forced into leadership or authority positions they don’t want because all they want is their friends to be safe.

And yet they’re protecting different groups of people. Agent 18 protects the workers and the Federation while Phil protects the residents and the eggs. And they’re both so fiercely loyal and aggressive towards anyone who would threaten those people. So despite being so incredibly similar to each other, they’re constantly at odds because they want the same thing, but in different ways.

When Phil protected Luffy, it’s seen as protecting the same people who brutally murdered 18’s friend who went to retrieve them from Purgatory, or the friend that died trying to stop Dark Cucurucho and its workers from taking Luffy away. But when Agent 18 tries to take Luffy back to the Feds to protect his friends, it’s seen as getting the residents hurt and harming an innocent. NEITHER OF THEM ARE COMPLETELY IN THE RIGHT OR THE WRONG!!!!

The fact that both are in such similar roles and on opposing sides naturally leads them to fixating on each other as the personification of an obstacle standing in the way of what they’re trying to accomplish. At the very least, that’s the case for Agent 18.

He tries so hard to get Phil to match the hatred he puts forth but Phil only semi-dislikes him. He *wants* Phil to villainize him so that he has a reason to continue hating him.

They’re such interesting foils of one another and I look forward to seeing what happens with their characters.

(Foolish as cult leader, 18 and Vegetta as cult members)

18 was found in a village that was killed off. At first Foolish asked if they wanted to change their name and either 1) it was some weird ass village that called people by numbers or 2) they called themselves 18 because he likes the number(at this point I'm just making shit up to just explain why 18 lmao). Jokefully Foolish adds Agent to it. It was a few years later after Vegetta. For a long time they didn’t see Vegetta(Int the end maybe they saw him once or twice), only heard from Foolish’s stories. He was given the skull necklace, and later the Golden Skull necklace.

Foolish’s eye was taken when he was fighting with Kallamar. He didn’t understand why he felt it was easier fighting in this domain but didn’t give it much thought(reference to a shark-hybrid in qsmp, despite being a lamb in COTL). He was too cocky and got hit in the eye, losing most if not all sight in his left eye.

Vegetta is basically always on crusades, and barely available. Most of the relationship he built with Foolish was at the beginning. He was given the skull necklace, and was also supposed to be given the Golden Skull necklace, but it doesn’t seem he’ll be back soon enough to be given(implied death? possible angst and whole grieving process. Could have a lot of talk between Foolish and 18 about him, Foolish having an easier time grieving(probably, maybe idk) and 18 learning more and more about both V and F, their past etc etc).

Leo is a weird kid Foolish found on one of the crusades. Not a lot is known about her, no parents and no idea why she ended alone in the Darkwoods.

Looking from both sides is absolutely devastating. From one side we have Foolish waiting for Veg, seeing him unconscious after god knows how long without any signs or anything, and I'm feeling it'll stay like that for a while.

And Agent 18, with probably their first crush and love, so I'm not surprised they act like they do. Seeing someone waiting for a person that was gone for such a long time, while you want the best for them, you may start thinking you will treat them better. In this situation I don't think there is a right and wrong choice, whatever qFoolish will do will get us interesting results, that's for sure :D

I'm like 90% sure that most people they told already knew about it(qBagi, qFit, qTubbo) In practice they only told qTina. Like, you can't tell me when you look at them that they are not just like a teenager having his first love and trying to figure out how to do it

Anyone who is claiming agent 18 is just trying to start problems or is growing obsessed with Foolish is so wrong it’s not even funny.

This romance is just a step below fit and pac in the development of it(in comparison to every other relationship on the server). It’s been MONTHS of this love building up to 18 trying to properly pursue!!!! They were strangers, then friends, then partners in fixing crime. He’s been there to welcome foolish back from every peril he’s faced and always trusts him(unlike most islanders.

If anyone is deserving of foolish it’d be 18 !!!

Now YES him telling a bunch of the islanders about it is dumb but he’s built up to having this confidence let him have his moment!!!! Also who doesn’t want to see some silly drama and story?
