Quote
Acquire the habit of speaking to God as if you were alone with God. Speak with familiarity and confidence as to your dearest and most loving friend. Speak of your life, your plans, your troubles, your joys, your fears. In return, God will speak to you—not that you will hear audible words in your ears, but words that you will clearly understand in your heart.
-St. Alphonsus Liguori (via beatae-memoriae)

Grace SUPERabounds!
But then Law came in, [only] to expand and increase the trespass [making it more apparent and exciting opposition]. But where sin increased and abounded, grace (God's unmerited favor) has surpassed it and increased the more and superabounded, So that, [just] as sin has reigned in death, [so] grace (His unearned and undeserved favor) might reign also through righteousness (right standing with God) which issues in eternal life through Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) our Lord. (Romans 5:20, 21 AMP) Holy Spirit, teach me and renew my mind with deeper and fuller understanding of this amazing truth of superabounding grace!

Preach to yourself
We should be slow to treat Jesus as if he doesn’t know what he is doing. He is not naïve in the way he deals with our anxiety. In Matthew 6:25-34 he tells us three times not to be anxious (vv. 25, 31, 34) and gives us eight reasons not to be anxious. Evidently he thinks this will help. So don’t call it simplistic. Call it grace. Believe him. Take every reason and preach it to your soul as true. Say, “Soul, this is true. Jesus Christ says so. Trust him. He died for you. He loves you. He created you. He knows you. No one — no counselor, no pastor, no friend — knows as much about you as he does. Listen to him. Let these reasons sink in. Bank on them. Now, let’s get up and do what we need to do. Be gone anxiety.”

21 days
Ok, so following a chat with my Pastor with what she is doing, I'm gonna follow suit and start this 21 days of giving thanks to God in my prayer time for salvation, for a designated time. WIll pray for other stuff too but for 21 days I will consciously have a set amount of time to simply thank God for the gift of salvation. Starting 1st June.. to make things easier re: dates heeheh!
Week 1 - 1 minute, once per day
Week 2 - 2 minutes, twice per day
Week 3 - 3 minutes, three times per day
From her testimony I'm believe for those times to really just go out the window, as God brings new revelation and understanding about the gift of salvation, and consequently I know He will grow my prayer life.
So, Who wants to join me!!?
We can comment and post what God shares with us, it will be awesome!

Recent reflections
It is not enough to just love God. Or say we love God. Or to just believe in Him. Yes belief in God and loving Him are definitely foundational and important, but alone, they are not the whole picture.
What needs to follow that is this: He wants us to be obedient to Him - to what He speaks to us through the Bible and the Spirit. If we truly love God, that love for Him motivates us to live in obedience to His voice and direction. That is how we truly demonstrate our love for God, how we demonstrate Christ in our life.
When we accept Jesus into our life, we accept Him and invite Him to be LORD over and in our life. The meaning of this is that we surrender - our lives and our will, to His plan and perfect will, telling God 'take all I am, every desire, every step of this life and align it to Your heart, to make You famous in this world'.
And it is an ongoing process of surrender, that we need to keep fresh - because our hearts are so easily tempted back by the wants of this world, caught up in the cares of temporary matters, tempted to take back the control.. until before we realise it, we are asleep and no longer alert to what God is doing around us, no longer hearing God's voice, no longer viewing life from the perspective of eternity!
Thanks and praise to God who extends his mercy and grace to awaken us again, and enable us to re-focus and continue on the right path. It is crucial that when he does call us however, that we respond, reset and realign ourselves to Jesus.
We must stay sharp for Jesus, we must continue to spend quality time with God, in His presence, we must remain in Him and allow His word to be in us, we must continue meeting together as brothers & sisters in Christ, as a corporate body of Christ to encourage, serve, edify one another.
We must PRAY. WE MUST PRAY!!
Because we are needed by God in this partnership work of seeing His will be done, His Kingdom come on this earth as it is in heaven. In a world that is growing darker, we need to shine the light of God brighter. In a world where hatred, strife and uncertainty is growing, we need to show and bring the love, peace and hope of God into people's lives!
"Righteous rebellion: To be dedicated to God's will in that it necessitates being opposed to Satan's, to rebel against the notion that sin is normal and inevitable and therefore should be tolerated, to rebel against the world system of ungodliness, to renounce all things that dishonor and reject Christ." - John Macarthur, Alone with God

AN AWESOME WORD! Solid revelation from scripture! Who/what is your god instead of God? Who has your time/heart? Partial obedience is disobedience. Disobedience always brings drama into your life. Got drama? Examine your life - In what area are you disobeying God? God's word is so perfect, so complete, that if we dabble in sin/disobedience to God's will and ways then we will reap the consequences of it. NOT because those hard consequences are part of God's nature to "punish" us; but rather because they are part of the nature of sin/disobedience. God is a parent not a principal.. He's cares FOR and ABOUT you, loves you and doesn't want to hurt or see you hurt. But if you play with fire, then it will burn you, bc that is its nature! BUT - though there is law, there is also the GRACE & LOVE of God. No matter how far we have strayed away or detoured, when we turn back to obey Him, he is already waiting to bless you and to continue to carry out His unique purpose for your life.

I walk through the fire With my head lifted high And my spirit revived in Your story I'll look to the cross As my failure is lost In the light of your glorious grace Let the ruins come to life In the beauty of Your name Rising up from the ashes God forever You reign And my soul will find refuge In the shadow of Your wings I will love you forever And forever I'll sing

Run away from infantile indulgence. Run after mature righteousness—faith, love, peace—joining those who are in honest and serious prayer before God. Refuse to get involved in inane discussions; they always end up in fights. God's servant must not be argumentative, but a gentle listener and a teacher who keeps cool, working firmly but patiently with those who refuse to obey. You never know how or when God might sober them up with a change of heart and a turning to the truth, enabling them to escape the Devil's trap, where they are caught and held captive, forced to run his errands.
2 Timothy 2:22-26 MSG
