WIP rambles under cut

shes gonna be wearing a tight top so the boobs actually make sense i promise they dont actually lay like that naturally lmao. i also wanna give her more of a belly and maybe some rolls but ill have to figure out how to do that in a way that looks good and also makes sense. for this piece im kinda trying to be more flexible with anatomy in favor of making the characters more expressive since ive been on a bit of a realism kick (with humans) for the past year or so. most of the commissions i do are furries and cartoon characters so ive been trying to find a nice middle ground where characters still have relatively realistic anatomy and proportions while still being expressive and stylized.

when i first started drawing i started with cartoons so i had to work backwards in the process of learning realism, anatomy lighting and all that shit. i still totally suck at realism but im way better at it then i used to be. but i also feel like ive lwk forgotten how to stylize shit, so ive been trying to relearn how to do that.

anyway, i think this girl is coming out really cute. i don’t typically draw more curvy body types like this with the big boobs and butt, so this has been really fun!

i’ve been doing a lot of commissions lately and have been generally busy with life stuff. i havent had the time to do many real studies recently. i want to set some time aside to do some form studies, get a better grasp on the 3d models that make up the human body. maybe do some studies on facial planes. lmk ur fav techniques for practicing these things
