I love that for you. Out of all the brain children I have had, I think ‘Caroline and Finn BFFs” is my greatest. #FinnDeservesBetter

Hey!
It's your exchange gifter again!
I know once upon a time you were a fan of Steroline.
Do you want Caroline to be feral towards Stefan as well as Damon?
I did love SC once upon a time… then it became canon and it was terrible and Stefan can also choke. If you like him, though, then it’s fine to not kill him. My hatred of him isn’t quite as visceral as my hatred of Damon.

Hi! It's your Autumn Exchange gifter.
Is there anything that you don't want in your gift? Squicks, cw/tws?
Looking forward to working on this!
All I ask is that any Salvatore’s present suffer immensely. Other than that, I can’t think of anything that is off limits.

The Dark Descent
For the final week of @klarolineauseason.  The prompts for the final week made me want to write a Future Diary AU.  So here it is - quick and dirty, but written!
Warnings: Main Character Death, Sanity loss, general all around not happy ending.
---
“Don’t worry, my love. Next time, I’ll save you.  I swear it.”
--
Klaus Mikaelson.
Family black sheep and outcast.  Art protégé on his university campus.  Utterly enthralled by Caroline Forbes, a political science major, all but guaranteed to be the next student union president – and girl who had no idea that Klaus even existed.
Until she did.
It was a simple thing. It started with a hello, as they passed in the hall.  Klaus couldn’t recall Caroline being in the art building so often before, but it seemed like she was there all the time now.  Those hellos became small talk, which became getting a coffee together that turned into hours, sitting and talking, and feeling as if she understood him in a way that no one else ever had.
Then the world went to hell.
It started with a sketch pad, and pictures appearing that he had never drawn. Dark predictions of the future, he would discover.
And then there was Caroline, slitting the throat of the man that would have killed Klaus, not seeming to care that it splattered her face and clothes with blood.
“What the fuck?” was all he could ask, and it felt wrong, to not know what was going on.  Klaus had made it a habit, to always know what was happening around him, ever since he was blind sided by the truth of his paternity and getting disowned.
“Don’t worry,” Caroline replied, with that brilliant smile that Klaus thought he might foolishly follow into hell.  “This will tell us everything that’s going to happen to you.  I’ll keep you alive.”
This was a cellphone, that detailed Klaus’ every action.
Except they were actions he hadn’t yet taken.
The Future Diaries.  Twelve of them, each made specifically to suit their owner’s purposes.  Klaus’ was the Art Diary, sketches of things he hadn’t yet seen, but would.
Caroline’s was the Klaus Diary.
He should have known then. He should have walked away from her then.
But that brilliant smile drew him all the way to hell.
---
“She isn’t who she says she is!”
Klaus stood between Caroline and Stefan, his friend – the only friend he’d ever really had – pleading for him to walk away from the girl who had sliced and diced through anyone that would have harmed Klaus.  She had kept her promise to keep him safe.
They now stood on a pile of corpses.
“That corpse that was in her house?  It’s Caroline Forbes, Klaus.  I don’t know who this girl is, but-”
Klaus stared, as Stefan fell to the ground at his feet, gurgling.  Caroline stood over him, knife in bloody hands, no emotion on her face as she watched him die.
“He was my friend,” Klaus said, though the words sound weak and meaningless.  He’d already let Caroline create a graveyard in his name, after all.  What was one more dead body?
“He would have separated us,” Caroline replied.  “And then you would have died.  I won’t let you die.”
Another long pause, as Klaus looked at the corpse.  The body of his first friend, no longer gurgling, now truly dead.  He wondered if his expression was as blank as Caroline’s. He felt as empty as she looked. Except when she stepped into his space, cupped his face with her bloody palms, and then kissed him.
He felt alive then. He always felt alive when they touched. It was the only thing keeping him tethered, the more they fell into the twisted game to become a God.
“Who are you?” he asked, when they lay in her bed, just rooms over from a dead bodily that was supposedly Caroline, even though the girl he held in his arms looked identical to her.
“I am Caroline Forbes,” she replied, and there was no lie in her expression.
But Stefan wouldn’t have been lying either.
Klaus didn’t understand.
---
Klaus understood.
He understood the terrible, horrible truth at last.  But it was far too late.
He held Caroline’s body in his arms – the body of the girl he had been enthralled with.
He looked up at the girl that had kept him safe, and she looked back, knife in hand, the blood of her own double splattered across her face.
“You’re already a God,” he breathed out, and for a moment, her blank expression broke.  For a moment, she looked like the shattered girl who had lost everything.
“I couldn’t bring you back,” she said, and she looked as though she might collapse.  As though she might give in.
But then her broken gaze landed on her own dead face, and it hardened once more. She held up the knife, looked at the blade, and then at Klaus – unarmed and cradling a corpse.
“Don’t worry, my love. Next time, I’ll save you.  I swear it.”
---
Caroline Forbes.
Brilliant student, small town beauty queen, head of almost every student group she could be.
God.
She had to keep her nails painted.  Her own blood – not truly hers, but the blood belonging to that of each version of herself she had killed – had created a permanent stain beneath them.
This time, though. This time, she would be successful.
This time, she would finally, finally, create a world where Klaus became the God.  And then she would return to whatever remained of her own world to disappear with it.
She didn’t even have to plan it anymore.  She knew exactly when he would appear.  Exactly where he would appear.
I love you.
A broken body that she cradled, his last words to her, even after she had failed to follow through on their pact to die together.  Instead, she had become a God, had planned to bring him back.
Some things, even a God could not do.  At least not in that reality.
Caroline would simply keep making new ones, until she succeeded.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!” she said, stumbling into him, wishing she could curl into his arms when he reached out to steady her after their collision.  But it was too soon for that.  Still, she smiled into his eyes – his so very loved eyes – and her heart glowed when he looked back at her a little dazed, a lot infatuated.  She would make sure he didn’t lose that look this time.  “You’re Klaus, right?”
In her pocket, a phone vibrated.
“Klaus and I ended up talking for ten minutes before his class! It was perfect.”

I couldn’t quite keep this one below 500 words... oops?
Nessian + thieves + flower shop au
It wasn’t a front. Not really.
Nesta blamed Gwyn for the whole thing.  It had been them and Emerie (it was always the three of them), and Nesta had complained about how her father had, once again, screwed their family finances over.
The last time, Feyre had ended up almost destroying herself with Tamlin.  This time, it looked like the same thing would happen with Elain and Graysen.  And Nesta was just tired, watching her sisters ruin themselves over and over when their father would never learn.
She knew that they both blamed her, because she refused to set herself on fire for that man.  But it was the only way Nesta could exert any sort of power – by refusing to help anyone, including herself. Self destructive it might be, but no more so than Feyre had been, when she’d almost married Tamlin, simply because she hadn’t seen a better option.
Rhys and put an end to it, and Nesta was thankful for that, not that she’d ever tell him that to his face.
Their relationship was one just shy of hate, and they both liked it that way.
But Feyre wasn’t the center of the story.  No, it was how Gwyn was at fault for the whole thing.
The whole thing meaning using Emerie’s flower shop as a front for washing the money that Nesta and Gwyn had… liberated.
Yeah, that was the best word.
Liberated.
Where it was liberated from? That wasn’t important.  Mind your own damn business.
That’s what Nesta really wanted to say to the cocky asshole leaning on storefront counter, having slid his badge across the surface towards her, as if she needed it to know who he was.
“Is this your way of trying to seem hot?” Nesta asked, picking up the badge between two fingers and letting it dangle as she sneered at it.  “I know you’re a detective.  I also know you like to watch the sing-a-long version of Frozen.  This doesn’t impress me.”
“Ah, there’s the sharp tongue I’ve been missing.  You stopped coming to the Thursday meet ups.”
“Actually, I didn’t. I just found more pleasant people to meet up with.”
“We’re in an axe throwing league!” Emerie piped up, from where she and Gwyn were eavesdropping in the back, not even pretending to give them much privacy.  “Nesta is 3rd in the league.  Give her another month, and she’ll be first.”
Any other man might have looked intimidated by that, but Cas just looked at Nesta as if he’d like to eat her up – possibly while she tried to use one of the axes on him.  It was annoying.
It was distracting.
“Why are you here?” She demanded, because the longer he looked at her like that, the more flustered she became.  And she hated being flustered around Cas. It made him think he had the upperhand.
“I’m on the Summer Thieves case” – Nesta thought it was a stupid name, but the media had never been known for their creativity in nicknames – “I thought you could maybe help.”
“You thought a florist could help you with a theft case?” Gwyn asked, coming out to twine her arm with Nesta’s and stare Cas down.  Emerie joined them on Nesta’s other side, a united front that Cassian could never hope to break.  “That seems desperate.  Doesn’t it seem desperate?”
“It does,” Nesta agreed, not looking away from Cas, because he hadn’t looked away from her.
“Really Nes?” he asked, his voice a mix of a whine and a cajole that shouldn’t be nearly as charming as it was.  “Couldn’t you make this easy on me?”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about, Cassian.  But we both know I’ve never been easy.”
He gave an exaggerated sigh, and then reached out, tapping the tip of her nose with his finger.
“True.  Then again, easy’s pretty boring anyway.” He took his badge back and stepped back from the counter, hands in his pockets as he looked around.  “Nice place. You’ve made some improvements, Em. I like them.”
“Business has been good,” Emerie replied tightly, and Cassian smirked.
“I’m sure it has.  You know what they say… summer is the best time for weddings.  And for heists.  I’ll see you around, ladies.”
He left, leaving Nesta behind to glare and plan exactly how the… Summer Thieves would be successful again, and shove his stupid nose into that success.
(And if one of the Summer Thieves stole a kiss from the lead detective at their next heist, after far too close a call… well, that was between them, wasn’t it?)

Doing my own fun little challenge, where I let the wheels decide the ship and trope mashup.  Then I write a ficlet under 500 words for.
Klaroline + break up/make up + mafia au
They had never been very good at staying apart.
Even back before… they’d started, there had been a draw between them.  Even when they were part of separate organizations, they had always been aware of each other.  A pair of stars, orbiting around each other, neither able to escape the other’s gravitational pull.
It had been part of the reason Caroline had agreed to the alliance between their families.  A temporary cease fire that would stop the death, and all she had to do was marry him.
Temporarily.
Caroline had fully intended to fuck him out of her system, and then, once the cease fire was done, she would divorce him and be over it all.
And that’s exactly what she had done.
Except… it hadn’t worked out that way.  Sure, she had gotten the divorce.  She had gone back to being his enemy.  But she had very much been lying to herself, when she’d said she was over it all.
Because right now, she was holding the smoking gun that had just shot her father in the back of the head, staring at Klaus across his corpse.
“They’re probably going to blame me for that,” Klaus noted idly.  His tie was loose around his neck, his hair a bit messy.  He’d been drinking.  Caroline knew, because she’d been watching him.  She had been the one to tell her father where he would be.
He was the one she was supposed to have shot.
“It won’t really matter,” Caroline finally said, lowering the gun, knocking the safety into place. “I’m the only one he trained to take over.  The only blood my family will spill, will be the blood I want spilled.”
“Hmm,” Klaus mused, carefully stepping around Bill’s body.  Caroline appreciated that, that he didn’t disrespect the corpse in any way. He had been her father, after all. “And if it’s not my blood, Caroline, then what do you want?”
She wasn’t sure what she would say, but Klaus clearly didn’t care for an actual answer.  Instead, he swept in, kissing her until she couldn’t breathe and her head felt light.
When they finally pulled apart, her hands were clutching at his hair, and his eyes were burning as he all but undressed her with his eyes.
And in that moment, she knew what she wanted.
“Marry me,” she said. “Again.”
She kissed his yes off of his lips.
