A long wipwed because I crack myself up. As I tend to do, I ignored the results of Byleth's wyvern naming poll. (She does not name it Dimitri or Soup)

"Lady Byleth, do you have plans this afternoon?" asked Mercedes. "Annie and I are having tea, complete with my freshly baked scones!" "I'd love to, but I have to scrub out Dimitri's mouth," Byleth said, "That brat got into the garbage again and ate some of Flayn's failed culinary experiments. I'm sure you can imagine what that would do to someone's breath." She waved her hand in front of her face to mime a terrible smell. There was a clang as several forks dropped down onto plates, and confused looks surrounded them around the table. Dimitri buried his face into his hands. "Byleth, for the hundredth time, will you please reconsider naming your wyvern Dimitri?" he pleaded. Her face scrunched up into an adorable pout, and he could feel his resolve melting away. But no, he had to insist on this. It was so humiliating. "But Cyril said it's Almyran tradition to name a wyvern after a loved one whose spirit you want them to embody." "That's very flattering, but I'm quite sure he meant a deceased loved one." "I don't have any," she said. "Except my mother. But Sitri is a ridiculous name for a wyvern." Well, if all else failed, he could always change his name to Sitri, since that was apparently safe from being co-opted for a pet. "Then perhaps someone admirable from legend?" he suggested desperately. "How about Kyphon?" "Don't you dare," said Felix. "Your girlfriend is not riding around on one of my ancestors. Besides, I think she's picked a perfectly suitable name for a slavering beast." Byleth narrowed her eyes at Felix, and his smirk fell. "Sorry, Dimitri," he mumbled. "Eh?" asked Sylvain. "Do my ears deceive me, or was that an apology to His Majesty I just heard?" Felix jutted out his chin and crossed his arms. "She won't spar with me if I'm mean to him." Sylvain threw back his head and laughed. "How are you whipped by another's man's fiance?" Sensing Felix's anger rising, Dimitri intervened. "I think we're getting a bit off topic. Kyphon is out, apparently. You can't think of anything else, beloved?" She looked down at her bowl, and oh no, he could see where this was going. "I beg of you, do not say Soup."

Chapter 2, the Hunting By Daybreak episode is up!

A very confused Byleth convinces a confused Dimitri to allow her to travel with him. His feral delusional mindset is pleased she is so willing to comply, but that faint sliver of humanity left in him has alarms blaring in his ear that something about her is very off.

WIP Wednesday!

WIP Wednesday time! I’ve been working on a Dimileth Omegaverse (A/B/O) fic and is pleasantly surprised how fun it is writing it! Some sexual tension between Dimitri and Byleth that then escalated to a fever pitch. Should be ready to post soon, hope you guys look forward to it!

"So even when I'm a monster, you consider me attractive."

Stunned at Dimitri's response, Byleth flinched, and her fingers trembled. No, she wouldn't let him shake her resolve. It was time to tell him her true feelings. She furrowed her brow.

"I've been in love with you since you were my student." She dropped her gaze to the floor and crossed her arms. "However, I'm not sure if we could be together during the war, especially when we’re screaming and arguing."

A lingering silence stretched between them as Dimitri's ragged breathing filled the whole chapel. Byleth didn't lift her gaze until he began to approach her. His footsteps echoed rhythmically into her ears. His familiar scent, the strongest it has ever been, flowed in her nostrils and was irresistible. He grabbed her shoulders and spoke to her in a low growl.

"At Gronder Field, I will take Edelgard's head and end the war then and there, Professor. You'll finally see me not as the shy schoolboy from the academy, nor as a wild rampaging boar, but as a man that will make you happy."

A flush of adrenaline tingled through Byleth's body at his bold proclamation. No, that wasn't what she wanted from him at all!

Before she could say that he didn’t need to prove himself to her, Dimitri leaned forward and kissed her on the lips.

Mari/Hilda One-Shot Is Finally Done

The second fic set in my Hopes AU is up! Marianne struggles with her self-worth when she is sent to fight for the Kingdom army in the latter half of the Hopes war phase. Hilda promises she will write to her, but every day when she greets the girl who runs the post, she is met with disappointment and a broken heart.

To make matters worse (and this is where the Hopes AU tie-in comes in to play), to her horror Margrave Edmund is preparing Marianne to court with a stranger. When the man turns out to be a friend who mutually agrees they want to stay as only friends, the two motivate each other to keep pushing forward despite the adversities.

**This fic dives majorly into depression and mental health, please please check the tags and cautions in the notes. I heavily advise readers to be in a healthy mental space before reading. <3

"First, look at him. No disrespect to the monster lovers, but even if blonde, blue-eyed hunks aren't your thing, you can't deny that Dimitri is very pretty.

Second, one of the things I love most about Dimitri is how self aware he is of his privilege as a prince (or king) and how seriously he treats the gravity of his position. He has a strong sense of duty and wants to be a good leader who listens to and provides for the needs of all of his people. This includes the citizens of Duscur, who were nearly wiped out by his own countrymen in (mistaken) retaliation for his father's murder. His commitment to righting this wrong is one of his primary goals in life.

Third, while he is more than capable of crushing a man's skull with his bare hands, under normal circumstances he absolutely wouldn't. A large part of the reason why his fall is so shocking and devastating to witness is because by the time he snaps, we know that Dimitri is actually a kind and gentle soul who hates violence and understands that even his enemies are human. Even at his worst point he still recognizes this, which feeds into his extreme self loathing. He extends compassion and forgiveness to others but struggles mightily to allow himself any forbearance for his own mistakes. He's kind quite literally to a fault, as his empathy is both his greatest strength AND his biggest flaw and I find that as heartwarming as it is heartbreaking."

And 2) you can't romance him til end game when he is in a much healthier place due to his own choice to change his priorities and the support of you and his friends. And on multiple occasions tells people that it is okay to feel your feelings and offers support despite his own struggles (I include that bc that is a date able trait to me).
