100 days of productivity (nth attempt)
So yknow..quarantine has got me feeling like a ball of unproductivity rolling around the house and eating everything jk. Classes were suspended abruptly, and we only had 2 weeks left of school supposedly, so we postponed them and had online exams done through skype and fb messenger. It was SOOOOO stressful and inefficient tbh. Afterwards I was just a bundle of nerves bc I had two major subjects where my standing was really bad (I’m not saying I might get a B+ when I expected an A, not at all. I meant I had high chances of getting an F because of my lazy ass self who sucks at time management. I kept crying at times because if I got an F in any subject I won’t be able to be an officer for the next school year in any of my orgs/clubs (I’m an incoming officer for 5 different clubs...5!!!!! T-T ). Been doing nothing for the past few weeks until grades came in AND THANKFULLY I PASSED. I LEGIT BROKE DOWN AND CRIED OUT OF RELIEF. I told all of my friends and classmates that my whole class passed!! (We had 2 diff blocks and my block only had 10 students since we were considered “regulars”).
Now I was suddenly contacted by the founding director of one of my clubs, and we apparently had a deadline for the club application in our school which was in 2 days!! We both didn’t know but thankfully he already processed some of the other requirements before classes were suspended.
Tbh I was really shook since I didn't really know about the deadlines and what files we needed to submit but that was also a shortcoming on my end since I didn't have the initiative. Lesson learned! The club we're trying to apply for eligibility in school is an environmental club with a mother org that's actually an NGO with members of youth from all over the city! The founding director is actually from our school! He just graduated (technically altho yknow covid) so I was appointed as the incoming president 😱I felt honored but mostly nervous bc he's like...on another level while I'm just me lmao. But I'm really excited to have a hand in establishing the org within our school and create the foundation for this org's success in the future!!

Things I learned in my first year of college
This is more for my reference than anything else, but if you find this info helpful then cool. The ones with *** are the one I found most important or didn’t find on the internet when I was looking for tips.
***Your feet will hurt from walking around so much. Don’t bother getting new shoes to cope because by the time you break those in you’ll be used to walking around. Save that money for food.
***Go to career fair. You’ll probably not get the internship or job your first year, but at least you’ll know how to dress yourself, research companies, and present yourself.
Go to club meeting where a company rep is present. Company reps have insane memory. They’ll remember you. Especially if you go see them every time. Helpful for when you’re applying.
Get a foam mattress topper.
Don’t have a crush. You’ll waste so much time thinking about it it’s not even funny.
Make friends. Make connections. Have fun. Get lit (safely).
Always plan your safe ride home or you’ll spend $56.50 on an uber at 3 am.
Use the free bus rides you get with your tuition.
Always ask for student discounts.
***Don’t just do academics. Having a 4.0 is cool and all, but no company or grad school wants you if that’s the ONLY thing you did.
***Be busy. When you’re busy, you manage your time better and be more productive instead of procrastinating because “oh that test is in like a week and I have nothing to do besides that so I’ll do it later.”
***Know your limits. You can’t handle being actively involved in 5 clubs and school. You’ll kill yourself in the process. Limit yourself to 3 clubs because it only gets harder from here.
Join clubs. Find something besides just academics that peaks your interests. It’ll make you a better student and expand your views.
Join one fun club like a sorority and one serious club like business council.
Work out. You’ll gain weight if you don’t. Set a routine in the summer so you can follow during the year when things get busy.
Be safe. Let’s be real, it’s college and there’s drugs and alcohol everywhere. If you choose to do it, be safe about it. Here’s some safety tips.
Always use a condom. Get them free from your university health center.
If you’re gonna drink for the first time, do it at home or somewhere that you are comfortable and know
If you’re gonna do drugs, again do it at home or a safe environment
Don’t ever leave your open drink unattended. Get a new one if you do.
You know when someone is sleazy or creepy. Stay away. If they’re persistent, give a fake name or number, get some random girls to let you (Oh jessica we’re leaving lets go), or straight up get away
Never go somewhere alone at night. Even if you have pepper spray.
Visit your family at least twice a semester if you can. They miss you and do a lot for you. Go visit them. I visited mine once a month because empty nest syndrome is real.
Don’t study where your friends are. You’ll get distracted because when it’s 3 am and your getting sick of studying, procrastinating with friends seems super fun.
***Study with a group. Sounds counter intuitive considering my last tip, but for things like ochem, engineering classes, business projects, or whatever, the classes are designed that if you don’t work in groups you will fail. Find a group of people/friends that are actually productive for studying and stick with it. Form a study squad. Join with other squads from time to time.
Don’t eat out a lot. You’ll get fat and broke.
Drink lots of water. Refillable water bottles ftw.
Get off your phone in class. No you can’t pay attention and listen at the same time.
Email your professors. Go to extra review sessions. When you’re .04 off from getting an A this will help you.
***ONLY go to TA sessions if they grade the work and/or actually help you learn. Some TA’s are garbage because they’re required to do it for grad school. But they grade your stuff and if you’re one the few people who’s name they know, that’ll definitely help you. If you learn nothing from them and they don’t grade your stuff, don’t waste your time.
Sleep. That all nighter is worse for you than not knowing anything. Cram the best you can and at least get 3 hours.
Save your notes. You’ll never know when you’ll need it, if your friend needs it, or sell it.
***Use a notebook. Don’t write notes on loose leaf paper. You’ll lose track of it. If you take notes on a laptop, use onenote or something idk I have math and science notes, I can’t take that on a laptop.
If you’re business or something along the line of that, look nice to class. Everyone else is too. Don’t have a professor notice you for your scrubbiness. Comb your hair, throw on some mascara, and wear whatever makes you feel good to class.
***If you’re stem or something like that, don’t worry to much about looking nice. Unlike business, the professor is probably dressed scrubbier than you. If you look nice, cool, you’ll get noticed for not being scrubby like everyone else.
***Have desk space. You’re gonna have your laptop, a million papers, and studying utensils out. Have the space for it so you don’t go crazy trying to look for stuff.
***Have a planner. The most important one. Whether it is hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or whatever, have one. You have a lot of stuff to do, and you can’t remember it all. Buy one, print one, use google calender, doesn’t matter just have it.
This might not work for everyone, because some of you are these highly motivated studious students that has their life together, which is awesome please teach me your ways, but if you’re a mess like me, these are some tips I wish I found on a studyblr or college tips.

9/100 days of productivity
I cried in the bathroom earlier
Bombed my exam on momentum transfer. It was such a big wake up call and slap in the fave that what I’m doing isn’t effective. I went to the school chapel afterwards. Cried and prayed for a while. I had lunch with one of my best guy friends, it’s been a while since we hung out. But I managed to enjoy my PE class though.
I went to the hospital since my sister was supposed to get checked but the doctor ended up not being able to go. I wasn’t productive except reading a bit for the next topic on momentum and trying to answer the problems. I keep sleeping lately, I think my body is trying to cope with my all nighters.

8 / 100 days of productivity
After classes I studied at the library with my classmates. I studied phy chem first before momentum transfer, then it was announced that our phy chem exam would be moved 🙃
Tbh lately I’ve been a mess and I lack sleep. My body can’t keep up and I still end up with low scores. I think I really need to change something with my methods, so here’s to hoping I can figure something out!

7/100 days of productivity
Bombed my exams today. Focused on the first subject but our prof forgot that we had an exam so I bombed my phy chem test. I really wanted to cry but I have nothing else I can do but reflect on what I did wrong and where I lacked so that I can do better next time.
I met with my mom and her workmate since they bought office supplies, so I bought some stuff for myself too. New pens, a cute highlighter, some plastic folders and pockets (for organization purposes), and some cute clips. Idk why but even the simplest stationery purchases cheered me up. I decided to stay at a cafe at the nearest mall and studied a bit with a hs friend who went to school near that mall. First time there and I can honestly say it’s a nice place. Decent prices, good coffee quality, a lot of outlets, and free wifi.
I was so happy bc I also met up with more hs friends afterwards. Met with my friend April!!! Last saw her in 2018, so it was such a great feeling when I saw her again.

6/100 days of productivity
I didn’t take any pictures today because I was so busy. I actually cried at our school chapel because I was so frustrated and the pressure was too much. Afterwards I met with some of my blockmates to study for our exams the next day. We went to a cafe (but got lost on the way lmao) and stayed there til 11 pm. Met with a friend and went home together. We’re not super close but there’s a different kind of comfort since we’ve known each other since hs (and only a few of us are in this college, by a few I mean 3)
I was planning on not sleeping but my body gave out and slept til 5:30 lmao

5/100 days of productivity
I spent my morning doing my reports and writing some notes while I wait for my cousin. She picked me up and we went to a cafe because she needed help with her basic calculus.
Afterwards, we had dinner together with our families, plus her brother’s gf and the gf’s fam. I had a strawberry shake and it was super yummy but the strawberries were a bit too sour.
I left early and went to a cafe to meet with some high school friends and studied for my exams the next day. When everyone left I transferred to another cafe (Green Coffee near some mall). I forgot to take pictures because I was so in the zone of studying. It was my first time there but it was alright, I liked the noise and chatter, it helped me stay awake. Plus the green tea latte was yummy~ Good thing my hs classmate and college schoolmate picked me up and dropped me off at home since he was in the area that time (there are only 3 of us from our hs in the same college so we became a bit close).
Exams tomorrow! Hope all goes well!

4/100 days of productivity
Friends unexpectedly invited me to study out and make our reports together. I missed them a lot since I’m in a different block than them but we do have some classes together!
One of them had to go home early so we decided to continue our reports at their place where we had a few drinks. I am in no way promoting drinking so please do so at your own discretion. I will admit I drink a lot but I don’t like the party scenes haha we just have chill sessions, and it helps with my anxiety.
I had a lot of progress with my report and hopefully by tomorrow I’ll be done with this stupid thing UGH I’m gonna do better on the next ones

day 2/100
I can’t say I’ve been the most productive since the weather today was soooo nice. It rained and I watched a kdrama while relaxing ☺️
Organizing my papers and printing some stuff made me feel a lot more in control of things and now I know where I’m standing a bit better. Feeling lost is one way of setting yourself up for procrastination. I like knowing when my deadlines are, what documents do I have, what can I do with the time given to me, etc.
I set up my study/revision trackers for a few of my subjects. Man do I have so much to learn HAHAHA. Hopefully my brain can keep up! Having a color coding system also helps. I’ve assigned a specific color to each subject I have and that really helps me focus. I don’t like having too much colors, but when I do I make sure they’re kind of pastel or muted.
Tumblr media
My working area was so cluttered bc of all of my papers, and it’s the semester is only starting!! Working on my organizing skills so hopefully I can keep this up! Hope you all enjoy the rest of your break!

1/1/2020
day 1/100
Here’s my nth attempt to do the 100 days of productivity challenge lmao
I started the year by making my january weekly spreads. Sadly I can’t bujo yet since I’ll be busy trying to finish the work I’ve been ignoring during the holidays. I also finished my concept paper draft and submitted it to the head of my committee (part of the sponsorship committee!!). We have an event coming up at the end of Feb but we have to gather a lot of sponsors for it and I’m still new to this so it’s a learning experience. ALSO I have my prelim exams on the first week back to school 🤟 so fun lmao
Happy new year everyone! Tbh I’m not pressuring myself too much this time around, and I feel like my goals are a lot more attainable this time!
2019 taught me so much. I’m forever grateful for the friendships I have formed, maintained, and rekindled this year. I probably would be in a worse state of mind rn if it wasn’t for them. They were there in my times of failure, heartbreak, and breakdowns. I love them all so much.
good things in 2019:
got to travel to a really great resort and tried some of the scary rides
lost a bit of weight in a healthy way
joined more orgs
got out of my comfort zone a bit more
befriended a looot of people
had a lot of great friendships established and deepened
given responsibilities bc they believe that I’m capable
learning how to do tasks for my orgs
got to help and volunteer a lot more
slowly getting better with time management
gaining a bit more confidence and also buying more clothes for myself
had my shortest haircut EVER
COLORED MY HAIR PINK EYYYY
Passed all of my subjects so far!!! (barely)
things to learn from in 2019
almost fell in love, but the person decided he wasn’t ready yet. And it happened just before finals and before my birthday ughhhh. It’s still a heartache for me, and I’m still healing :)
a friendship went sour :(
Both made me realize that I should value the people who stayed and that everything has a reason. I cannot be filled with blessings when there is no empty space. It’s something to learn from and that I am strong enough to overcome these things
lost some papers :( should be more organized and on top of things
got sick easily and had to have a lot of all nighters. Need to manage my time even better
Altho it isn’t quite healthy, I’m making myself busy so that I don’t dwell too much on the sad feelings of 2019. I won’t push myself too hard, but I still need to hustle to get everything done before school starts again. Wish me luck!

back to school tips from your local disabled mess - pt. 2: specific strategies
disclaimer
this is written from my own perspective as a disabled qtpoc in my sixth year of undergraduate study, tips are not universally applicable
productivity strategies
productive procrastination – “i REALLY don’t want to clean my room, so maybe i’ll work on my essay instead”
breaking breaks – “i’m not officially on a break but i haven’t really gotten anything done for an hour, so i’m going to take a designated break to refresh my brain a bit”
adjusted pomodoro – “instead of 25/5, i’m going to do 30/30 because that’s what i can manage right now”
prioritization strategies
shorter long-term goals – “what can i do to make tomorrow easier”
sustainability – “is the way i’m acting right now something i can maintain without hurting myself?”
the square – urgent/important, urgent/not important, not urgent/important, not urgent/not important
snip snip – “i’m behind schedule on twenty assignments, which ones have the least impact on my grade that i can designate as less important?”
anxiety/self-loathing strategies
mocking the imagined worst case scenario – “honestly, it’s fine if this paper is bad! what are they gonna do? kick me out of school?”
acceptance – “you know what, no matter what happens, i’m just going to do my best. i can’t reverse the past or predict the future, just use this as a learning experience moving forward.”
anxiety/avoidance strategies
self-awareness – “i acknowledge that i’m avoiding class because i’m anxious about being judged by my professor, an authority figure. my anxiety is trying to protect me. however, i understand that this anxiety is not protecting me right now, and that i’m actually safe going to class.”
making it easier – “there are too many steps involved to get ready for and go to school right now, so i’m going to simplify the process by skipping a shower today”
the smallest thing – “i feel too anxious to go to class right now, so i’m going to do the smallest possible thing towards that goal right now, which is to grab my backpack and my car keys and stand outside”
self-forgiveness – “it’s too difficult for me to go to class today. i’m still proud of myself though, because i know i’m doing my best to rest and deal with my anxiety to go next time.”
part 1: things to know | part 2 | part 3: TBD

Why I've Been Gone
I know I haven’t posted in a while (aside from a few reblogs) and I haven’t kept to any kind of schedule. For those of you following me who expected that, I’m sorry. For those of you willing to stay for an explanation, well…
Let’s just say life is hard sometimes. You can have periods, years-long, that feel like you’ve got everything under control. But then one day, it just slips and all falls apart for no apparent reason - kind of like dropping your phone on your face at night even though you never do that. And lately, well… I’ve dropped my phone (metaphorically speaking). Whole explanation under the cut for reasons, please read the tags before clicking read more! But for those of you who aren’t comfortable reading it all, I’ll summarize really quick. A TDLR, if you will.
I “dropped my phone” due to a series of events in my life, each as equally stressful as the last, but in the end, I’ve learned that it’s okay to drop your phone every once in a while. Sometimes it just happens and that’s okay, you can always pick it back up and go back to what you were doing. So here I am, picking it back up and going back to what I was doing, hopefully posting more on all my blogs (I say al but I only have four: this one, my system blog, my writing blog, and my meme/fandom blog - feel free to ask for any of them if you’re curious). And not just reblogs either, actual original content that I’m excited and thrilled to start posting.
So if you’ve dropped your phone lately, just know it’s okay. You can always, always pick it back up and my messages and asks are always open for anyone who needs it. Just hang in there, guys, you can get through this.

things you shouldn’t do if you run a studyblr (aka things that i do)
try to not compare yourself to others please. this includes: your achievements, where you stand in life, your belongings/stationery/material things, level of productivity, etc.
try to not let the lack of notes discourage you from wanting to keep making posts or being a part of the community.
don’t buy things just because you see other people have them.
try to not feel guilty for not posting original content constantly.
try to not feel like you have to study all the time just because you run this kind of blog.
try to not feel like you can’t fail.
