When I was a kid on the internet, things that were scary on facebook/tumblr/YouTube had warnings, and there were kind people in comments and chats etc. That let people know "hey this has *insert trigger or scary thing* and you shouldn't watch this if it will make you upset " and it was genuinely kind.

These days people don't care. On my Instagram I say a video of a beheading. Instagram. Do you know how many children are on Instagram? My tiktok is full of political far left and right propaganda and sometimes it's scary, and I can't imagine seeing that at 9/10 years old.

The internet has changed and not exactly for the better and it makes me sad.

No, kids should not have unsupervised acess to the internet.   Yes, I got that and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.    Its a paradox.

I'm starting to not be okay again and it's been years and I thought I was better and it's so overwhelming that I feel this way again

I'm not the same person that I was before because I used to have people I could talk to and they would understand and help. But all those people are gone now, and I'm grown up and I'm suppose to be better.
