do you ever think about how the world would have stopped when lan wangji heard wei wuxian was dead, how his bright grin flashed before his eyes, the physical pain in lan wangji’s chest as he fought to even breathe as he attempted to process that information, how he would have stared into space not replying until his brother shook him by the shoulders trying to wake him from his shocked stupor.
“don’t lie,” he had said, his eyes wide and mind too frozen to do anything but pray that his brother was lying in an attempt to make him move on, it had to be. wei ying wasn’t dead he couldn’t be. but he was.

Since the Scum Villain anime is releasing in… god knows when, I decided to bite the bullet and do self indulgent designs for the two main characters.

Read the rest of the collection on AO3
The day Jin Ling learned to crawl was the day Jiang Cheng’s soul left his body.
No, it said, packing its bags.
Absolutely not, it raged, purchasing a one-way ticket to anywhere-the-fuck-else-but-here.
Get the fuck out of here with that shit, it shook its fist, slamming the door on the way out.
Because, genocide? War? Losing everyone and everything he loved? He could survive it all. But this was just too much.
“A-Ling!” Jiang Cheng screeched, sprinting from room to room in the sect without care for the judging eyes of the servants; he had lost his dignity in their eyes long ago, the first time Jin Ling had thrown up on him during a meeting. No, Jiang Cheng was not concerned with his image at the moment. All he could think about was that, after years of coming in second to everyone—to him—he was now losing a race to a one-year-old infant.
(His soul briefly popped its head back in to echo, An infant. What the fuck.)
This was ridiculous, honestly. One moment, Jin Ling had been lying peacefully in his blanket bundle on Jiang Cheng’s bed, gurgling happily as he waved a silver bell, pudgy hands wrapped around the lilac tassels—and the next he was gone, zooming through the halls of the sect on his tiny, pudgy, stupid, tiny little baby limbs. Zooming. Ridiculous!
Every corner he turned, Jiang Cheng would catch a glimpse of yellow disappearing around the next one, or the ghost of youthful giggles fading from the air. No matter where he went or how fast he ran, the baby was always several steps ahead, and it was aggravating beyond all comprehension. Jiang Cheng had been running around the sect for nearly an hour and, made careless by his own frustration, he was beginning to feel quite tired. The gods only knew what he would do if Jin Ling made it outside. God forbid he made it to the hall of his ancestors; there might still be a chance that his mother had not seen this mess yet, but if the child made it there, she would certainly notice, and then she would curse his name from beyond the grave. He wouldn’t put it past her to bring herself back as a vicious corpse and come to Yunmeng just to glower at him.
To think that, after everything, his downfall was going to be a one-year-old baby.
Rounding another corner, Jiang Cheng came to an abrupt halt moments before trampling all over his infant nephew. Jin Ling had stopped zooming; he was sitting on the floor, watching the birds soaring over the sect with a slack jaw and shining eyes.
Jiang Cheng swept the child into his arms, holding him at a distance and screaming, “A-Ling, what are you doing? Are you crazy or just stupid? Even a one-year-old must have more sense than this! Anything could have happened to you, stupid baby! Anything…” he trailed off, voice weakening, and immediately felt a pang of remorse for screaming to forcefully at his nephew. He was only a baby, after all. What could he understand of the dangers Jiang Cheng was so constantly, incessantly aware of?
He expected Jin Ling to start crying, wriggling, trying to get away… but the child only stared at him, tiny mouth set in a solemn line unbefitting of an infant. He reached one pudgy hand out; Jiang Cheng drew him closer almost unconsciously, and Jin Ling let out a content gurgle as his little fingers pressed against Jiang Cheng’s face.
His look seemed to say—well, maybe Jiang Cheng was reading too much into it, but it seemed to say—I understand.
I understand, so please don’t worry. I’m here. I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere.
It’s okay.
§
Years later, when Jiang Cheng wakes up to find that his teenage nephew has run away (again) to go hunting on his own (again), he immediately begins preparing his ‘you brat I’m really going to break your legs next time’ speech, ready to deliver as rehearsed the moment the boy returns.
Because he will return—that, Jiang Cheng is sure of. No matter why he ran off, or how far he goes, or for how long, he will eventually come home.
He always does.

Malaysian MoShang au
CNY shopping edition because I just went with my dad lmao
Shang QingHua coming home from working in Singapore for CNY break, so he decides to go CNY shopping with his mum because that shit needs like, 2 people
Coincidentally, his boss and secret admirer, MBJ, is also home for the holiday and is out grocery shopping with his cousin, LBH
What SQH did not expect, was to see his boss outside of his working hours and to see his boss’s cousin
Wait, why was MBJ staring at him?? Did he do something wrong? Or better yet…DID MBJ WANT TO FIRE HIM JUST BY SEEING HIM DURING HIS HOLIDAY?!
LBH gave MBJ a pat on the shoulder and a very suspicious grin and he leaves, so now SQH and MBJ are left standing alone in the cleaning supplies aisle, with SQH struggling to carry a big bag of kitchen roll.
“this is it, I’m going to get fired,” he thinks as MoBei Jun walks over to him, face fixed in a permanent glare, closing his eyes and praying that his mum won’t kill him
But to his surprise, instead of expecting a hit, MoBei Jun lifts the bag for him and carries it to his trolley. This is how they end up spending their time in Giant
SQH: Oh fuck, you were helping me just now and you didn’t get time to shop. We should get your stuff too
MBJ: No need, Luo BingHe’s already getting the stuff
SQH: Ah, is that so…?
SQH, internally: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-
His mother then choses that time to round the corner with her own trolley full of food. And she asks the question everyone dreads when they go home for CNY
Mum: 阿华, 原来你交了男朋友了啊? 在那里认识的? 他叫什么呢? 长得非常帅呀! SQH: … MBJ:… SQH: 妈…他是我的总裁,不是我的男朋友啦! SQH,INTERNALLY: 啊啊啊啊啊啊,死定了!一回去新加波,我会马上被炒鱿鱼
For some reason, MoBei Jun looked very disappointed when Shang QingHua frantically explained that they were nothing more than boss and worker.
Could it be that he wanted to be more than that? Shang QingHua quickly pounded the thought into dust, unwilling to let it take flight. How presumptuous! As if a lowly secretary could ever be with such a top tier person, a man nonetheless!
Though…Shang QingHua would be a liar if he said he never crushed on his boss. In fact, he was crushing right now! But he would rather become a human stick than admit it in front of anyone
Seeing MoBei Jun’s disappointed face was a sight he didn’t want to face, he wasn’t sure if he could take it. Waving a quick goodbye, the writer urged his mother down the aisle, running away from the scene.
He didn’t know what he was running from, he just needed to leave
That was a lie, he knew what he was running from. Confronting his own feelings and now, a possibility of unemployment. But he supposed he could think about that when he gets there

Mo Dao Zu Shi (魔道祖师) Fic Rec
Hello! As promised, here’s the Mo Dao Zu Shi fanfic recommendation as requested. I’m so sorry it took me more than a week bc I ended up rereading some of them when I was compiling the list haha Anyhow, I’ll be updating this list from time to time (depending on what I’ve read and/or when someone suggests their own recs).
Kindly let me know if there’s a link that’s mismatched or broken so I can fix it. Thank you so much to the authors who keep on pouring their talent for our tiny fandom haha Hoping to read more amazing fics from you guys! <3 Oh, and since this was a personal rec, you’ll definitely see some themes I’m bias at and apologies in advance if they’re not your cup of tea.
