Who inspired you? Like, I love your work, but who helped make it this far?

Hahaaaaaaa...! Two people! My oldest friend I'm dubbing Oreo. They were really really good at art and I wanted to be good at art too, so... My desire to draw started with them. And then my other best friend I'm dubbing Goldfish! Yeah, they were... Absolutely the biggest inspiration. Their writing made me want to write so badly because they were so good at it, so I wrote too, and I kept going. And their ideas? Lord their ideas... I loved the ideas so much I had to draw all of my favorites. So, they both kinda inspired me to write and draw. I just kept at it and soon enough I was drawing or writing almost constantly! So, yeah. My two best friends!! I owe it all to them

y'know what's great about tumblr is you see all this cool fuckin art and it's just so awesome to look at with all the different styles and colors 'n shit and it makes me just go, "Huh. I want to be that good at art. I'm feeling inspired." And I just... go off and doodle and create. Nowhere near as good as most people I see (sometimes I feel confident enough to say I'm right up there with the good artists) but hey! I'm drawing! I'm learning. It's fun. If I ever need inspiration to be a better artist, I just hop on tumblr and start scrolling.

and then sometimes I see cool shit and I think "man I wish I could draw decently" and proceed to doomscroll and look at such beautiful works of art and ache with the desire to create but lack the motivation.

I guess the point is... art is cool. Never doubt yourself, cause there's always gonna be someone who looks at your art and thinks it's the coolest fuckin thing.

I don't know of it's a purposeful choice or just your artstyle, but I just wanted to say how much I love how...haggard(???) Gregory looks in your drawings. I have no other word for it, he just looks like he has been through as much shit as he has and it's great. Adults who don't know him should look at him and be concerned about the haunted, slightly manic look in his eye.

(Also love you drawing him in clothes other than his trademark polo shirt, that flannel looks so big goofy and comfy on him)
